About export database

Hi Guys,
If I want to export just two table into file from database, do I need to kill all other connection? Like make database single?
Can I use oracle sqldeveloper to develop stored procedure? Thanks.

Actually it's opposite, when you use hint in query, that usually means optimizer is using CBOWhy opposite ? When you're in RULE mode, you can use HINT...
SQL> alter session set optimizer_mode='RULE'
SQL> /
Session altered.
SQL> set autot traceonly explain
SQL> select * from myobjects;
Execution Plan
   0      SELECT STATEMENT Optimizer=RULE
1    0   TABLE ACCESS (FULL) OF 'MYOBJECTS'
SQL> select[b] /*+ ALL_ROWS */ * from myobjects
SQL> /
Execution Plan
   0      SELECT STATEMENT Optimizer=HINT: ALL_ROWS (Cost=58 Card=2000 Bytes=256000)
   1    0   TABLE ACCESS (FULL) OF 'MYOBJECTS' (Cost=58 Card=2000 Bytes=256000)

As mentioned a few times, For Oracle Database 10g release 1 (10.1) or higher, Oracle recommends the Data Pump Export and Import utilities... (see the Utilities doc).
Export done in WE8MSWIN1252 character set and UTF8 NCHAR character set
server uses UTF8 character set (possible charset conversion)You might want to consider using a client/export character set for the export session that doesn't risk loosing information (e.g. UTF8 / AL32UTF8).
Why is that it is hanging at "exporting system procedural objects and actions"? It already stayed here for 5 hours. You could turn on tracing for the exp session to try to find out what it is doing. If you have AWR/ASH license then e.g. v$active_session_history might be of some use.

  • How can I export database incremental?

I want export database for backup.
how can i export database incremental?

What Oracle version are you using ?
The following is from 8.1.7 documentation about INCTYPE parameter :
    Incremental, Cumulative, and Complete Exports
Important: Incremental, cumulative, and complete Exports are obsolete features that will be phased out in a subsequent release. You should begin now to migrate to Oracle's Backup and Recovery Manager for database backups.

  • Exporting database using Apex interface

I want to export at once and in one file
    - the database objects (tables, constraints, etc)
    - and optionally database data as well
that are used by some given Apex application.
QUESTION: Is there any way to do that through the Apex interface?
I know how to do that with SQL-Developer.
I know also how I can export through the Apex interface
one selected object (for example, one table),
but what about exporting all of them together?
    Thank you very much,
    Marios

    hi,
    try this.
Exporting all the ddl objects in schema into single sql file. (tables, constraints, etc) at once
Open workspace-> Home>Utilities>Generate DDL->createscript-> schema Name->choose fron select list-> choose option Save As Script File-> check all->click Generate ddl-> type script name->click createscript-> stored into your sql scripts inside SQL WORKSHOP TAB->click export button right side under task link->click checkbox to the corresponding file name and click -> add to export->right side Scripts to Export have your file->click export all.
Combining Application + ddl objects + data
Open your application-> ckick Home>Application Builder>Application 123>Supporting Objects>Installation Scripts-> Create from Scratch-> give name-> editor will open -> copy and paste the sql commands which you have exported using above steps
    data
if you need to export some sample data then you can paste those commands insert into tablenameinto the same sql editor in step2 and save it
    note: in your Home>Application Builder>Application 123>Supporting Objects>export status-> Include Supporting Object Definitions in Export=yes
Export your application and user can import using single sql file.
    thanks

  • Backup / Export database

What are the different purposes of "Backup" and "Export" database in Oracle DBMS ???
And about the meaning, they are same or different ???
    Thanks !
    Carollynn.

As I can see it, an export does not really give you the same possibilities as a backup (although I see the block verification iusse, I use dbverify regularily).
The export can be used in two ways. Re-import single tables if e.g. a user wrote wrong data into it. But beware of referential integrity. Then you can import the whole schema/database into a NEW database and you will have a copy of your database at the time the export was taken. You have to make sure, CONSISTENT=Y is set and that, as a general precaution, nobody is connected to the database itself. Otherwise, you might set yourself up for data integrity problems.
Full (hot) backups allow to repair the current instance to a certain point in time. You do not change the instance, you repair it. If done right, you can bring your database back to the point of failure time. Also, you can repair singe tablespaces, ... .
We use both exports for creating copies of databases (e.g. for testing) and for migration from e.g. Oracle 7.3.3 to 8.1.5.
Taking daily hot backups is our main backup mechanism.

  • Sharing some info about Export dumps

Just to share some info about exports happenig in our system
I have a 20GB Database but the dump size is 10GB it keeps growing..the data too grows but the dump has also getting increased significantly...
Has anyone seen encountered soemthing like this...
Strange but to live with it
    Oracle 8i on Win2k

Is this your Production Database? Did you schedule this export? During peak/off peak business hours? Production
    Yes
    Off Peak hours
Apart from this export, what database backup procedure you have in place? Full Backups/Incremental all in place
You said, you take export regularly as part of procedure. Is this a strange behavior today or did you observe this previously as well??I have been observing since i joined this company. It was 14GB and Dump was around 7 ..now the DB is 20GB and dump is around 10GB
I was just thinkking for a TB database how much the export would be...:)
Adding on i had a 100Gb db generating 8Gb dump...Looked strange..)BUt that 100GB did not have so amny objects like what i have now...
    Thanks

  • Difference between upgrdae and migration about oracle database

Difference between upgrdae and migration about oracle database
    please give the comments

Well, the question is almost philosophic...<br>
In 9i, there is a Migration Guide whereas in 10g there is a Upgrade Guide.<br>
Furthermore, in 9i, there is the command line startup migrate whereas in 10g that's startup upgrade.
Somebody think upgrade when go to new release, and migration when go to new version.<br>
Others think upgrade when new version replace database in place, and migration when new version include a move of database.<br>
Another point of view is : upgrade is for technical, and migration for application/data.<br>
    <br>
Well, after these explanations, your upgrade/migratation notion will not be more clear, but I think that is not very important, only a terminology game. The most important is to know what you need : new version or new release.<br>

  • Export database in quiet mode

I'm trying to export database (or part of it) via exp utility. Exp utility should be called from command file or from another process (on windows). If something goes wrong (for example user name or password is not correct) exp pauses it's execution and trying to ask user what to do (for example enter valid user name). This is the problem. I want that exp just finish it's execution without asking any input from user. It is possible at all?
I have read exp's documentation and not found any command line keys which could run exp in non-interactive mode.

    My export command follows:
    D:\Users\ender>C:\Oracle\Ora102g\bin\exp.exe hr/hr@ORCL102G FULL=Y FILE='D:\Users\ender\My Documents

It have black side at right and left in clip when export finished
I have flip4mac program in my mac
    How do I edit.

Let me help getting your question back to something we might understand.
    - You are exporting your video AS .wmv
    and
    - when you export it, there are black bars left and right of the image.
    How do you fix?
Ok - what was the format of the video prior to your exporting it? When you edited it in FCP, what were the sequence settings? That will help get the right settings for flip4mac.

  • Urgent- Exporting database tables

    Hi There,
I am using Oracle 8.0.6. I want export a table from one server to another.(both are unix machines). How can I do it?
    Thanx in advance

If a table is samll, then I would recommend you to create a dblink between them and use copy command to copy the table from one db to another.
    Export:
    exp system/password file=exp.dmp log=exp.dmp tables=username.table_name direct=y statistics=none
ftp the exp.dmp file in binary mode to other unix server.
    imp username/password file=exp.dmp log=imp.dmp fromuser=username touser=username full=y
Do you have same user exists in both databases? Do you have same tablespaces exists on both databases?
When you import, it will look for the same tablespace as exported database tablespace. Otherwise, the user who is importing revome unlimited tablespace quota and use one tablespace. also, you have to include ignore=y in this scinario.
