About insert txt file

I need to know how to insert a txt file in JDeveloper and how to read it, I found something like this but it does not work :
private File file = new File("C:\\Users\\Denis\\Desktop\\tilaran\\GUTILARAN.txt");

What specifically doesn't work?
You can try something like this: http://www.roseindia.net/java/beginners/java-read-file-line-by-line.shtml

  • Problem about writing txt file and  utl_put_line

    After some research on the internet I found the way how to writre files from Oracle 11g to a txt file.
    I read that utl_put_line only holds 32k per line and adds a new line at the end of each row but my problem it´s that if I want to open the file with SQL Server :D it doesn't recognize the CRLF so there is no end line and the last column has the data from the next row. The files are created on Linux so if I open them on Windows i have to convert into DOS format but if I try to open that file with Excel everything works fine, so I was wondering if there is a limit of columns or number of characters that can be on a txt file.
    There is my pl sql that I used to create my txt files:

    As you can see I write the column names first and with a loop I add the data, so I can have a very large column at the end.
    How can I add the CRLF at the end of each line to have it working with Windows?

    Oracle is simply passing a string of characters to the OS to be written to a file in the host OS's native text format. That format is different from Windows and nix.  Windows will append a CR-LF pair to the end of the provided character string, as its end-of-record delimiter.  nix will append only a CR (or is it LF?) as its end-of-record delimiter. This is purely and OS issue that Oracle knows or cares nothing about. It is also something that must always be kept in mind when passing files between *nix and Windows.

    It is strange problem. Because in the same computer, I downloaded the txt file from 4.6c system. And the result is OK.
    So I guess some upgrade issue result in the problem..
    I path the gui 710 to level 2.,,........ It's okey now ,thanks.

  • Insert line break into .txt file

    Alright, so I am writing out to a simple .txt file, and I
    need to force a line break in it. My immediate thought is to use
    "\n" as that is a line break. So, I write it out to the text file,
    and instead of a line break, I see the "complex character" symbol
    (you know, that square that shows up with unknown characters). I
    have tried the various ASCII values to no avail, tried \r, even
    tried copy-pasting a line break in from notepad. Nothing seems to
    be working for me. How do I do this?
    _logFile = "\n";
    stream = new FileStream();
    stream.open(file,FileMode.WRITE);
    stream.writeUTFBytes(_logFile);
    stream.close();

    in windows use "\r\n"
    i.e. _logFile = "\r\n";

  • Populate a table reading the data from a TXT file

    how can I populate a table reading the data from a TXT file?
    thanks

    Hey Kevin!
    Using FORMS.TEXT_IO to bulk load data from a file strikes me as re-inventing the wheel. It is just about justifiable in a self-service environment, but I regard the EXTERNAL TABLE is a better solution for that situation as well.
    The same applies to UTL_FILE. I think the ability to read text with UTL_FILE is primarily intended for read file-based configuration or file manipulation/processing rather than data loading.
    Re-writing a text file into SQL statements is too much like hard work (even with an editor that supports macro definition and regular expressions) for no real benefit. You lose all the bulk load peformance you would get from SQL*Loader. But for QAD I'd probably let you off with it.
    You missed out one obvious alternative: using Java to turn the contents of an XML file into a CLOB and inserting it into a table which is read by a PL/SQL procedure that parses the XML records and insert the retrieved data into a table.
    Stay lucky, APC

  • Updated record should come in txt file

    Hi Friends,
    My requirements like this way, any changes make in mara, mard, mbew, makt, vbak, vbap, vbrk and abrp table. that newly created data should come in .txt file of application server.
    I have already developed a program for that. it is downloading data in every 3 hours slots. it is running in background. whatever changes made during these hours it will download.
    now, my requirement has been changed, instance data should come in .txt file of app server. e.g. when newly created record save in database table, same time that record should come in .txt file with proper format.
    is it possible? please let me know.
    Thanks in advance,
    Parag

    Hi Parag,
    To obtain changes you know you can get the details from the tables CDHDR and CDPOS.
    Also you have questions about performance and so. SO here are some details.
    - When you flag a data element for change document (is checked) it is ONLY a marker that allows for registration of this field's changes into CDHDR and CDPOS. The actual control is done on datafile level in its technical settings (Transaction SE11 with datafile name and then push button "Technical Settings" or CtrlShiftF9). Herein you will find a flag "Log data changes".
    Within the CDHDR file and CDPOS file a field OBJECTCLAS is used. Only for existing OBJECTCLAS values the changes are logged.
    - Now obvious this is the trick for standard SAP (as Subramanian has already pointed out you can find "OBJECTCLAS" values with transaction SCDO). If you want to know on how to create your own "OBJECTCLAS" values with working logging on your own designed fields follow Subramanian suggestion and read the documentation.
    Now to your questions:
    You gave some tables you need to track changes (and now also for initial creation) like MARA, MARD, MAKT and others.
    To get changes for these tables use the following "OBJECTCLAS" values:
    - MATERIAL (Tables MARA, MARC, MARD, MBEW, MFHM, MLGN, MLGT, MPGD, MPOP and MVKE). By-the-way, this object will be replaced by MATERIAL_N  (available from release 4.6x).
    - VERKBELEG (Tables VBAK, VBAP, VBEP, VBKD, VBLB, VBPA, VBPA2 and VBUK).
    To collect changes (suggested by Andreas) you could use function module CHANGEDOCUMENT_READ. This is very usefull if also archiving is active for the objects you need to track changes for and your changes are scattered through time, but for your problem it is better to approach the log data directly.
    1. First select the main change documents from CDHDR table for a given "OBJECTCLAS" and "OBJECTID". Here you can use additional filtering on DATE (field UDATE) and TIME (field (UTIME). Even filtering on a specific transaction is possible (field TCODE).
    This gives you a number of change documents (field CHANGENR).
    2a. Secondly select the specific field changes from table CDPOS by using the found fields from CDHDR and additionally fill TABNAME with the specific table and if required FNAME with the specific field name. 2b. Since in your case the values will not be known, you need to track changes, you have to be very carefull in your selections. If you track the object MATERIAL or MATERIAL_N, you best loop over the MARA table and for each MATNR fill the OBJECTID field of CDHDR with this MATNR value.
    3. In order to find NEWLY created items you need to check the CHANGE_IND flag. When 'I' it is an new insert, when 'U' it is an update. Now this rule applies ONLY to key fields, since SAP first creates the key record (CHANGE_IND = 'I') and then the other fields (CHANGE_IND = 'U').
    Finally the warning given by Andreas (runtime increases - you MUST select with OBJECTCLAS and OBJECTID) is very important. Not supplying OBJECTID will have a very heavy impact on the runtime.
    Hope this gives you some clues on how to approach your problem.
    Regards,
    Rob.

  • Problems getting elements to work in a txt file within Flash.

    Hello! I'm working on my band's new website and have been
    searching many hours for answers to some problems I'm having with
    txt files referenced as HTML in Flash.
    Our site is
    http://moumusic.com.
    One of the problems is having an image as a link. For
    instance, I have a photo and try to link a website to it:
    quote:
    <a href="
    http://cdbaby.com/cd/motuniverse"
    target="_blank"><img src="images/cdbaby.gif" width="100"
    height="100"></a>
    It works when loaded as an HTML file, but not when viewed in
    the Flash site. The text file for this is at
    http://moumusic.com/moualbum.txt.
    The page comes up when you click the "MoU's First CD" link on
    moumusic.com.
    Next, I can't link to external media files. For instance, I
    tried inserting the code:
    quote:
    <a href="
    http://fusco-moore.com/videos/SongforCliff-2.wmv">Song
    for Cliff Video Part 2</a>
    . You can click the text (while viewing it as
    part of the Flash site), but nothing happens. You can even copy the
    shortcut, but you can't use the link properly.
    Last, I want to put a PayPal Buy It Now button on one of the
    pages. The link is pretty long:
    quote:
    <a
    href="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick&business=producer%40wcjm%2ecom&it em_name=%22Masters%20of%20the%20Universe%22%20CD%20by%20MoU&amount=10%2e00&no_shipping=2&n o_note=1&currency_code=USD&lc=US&bn=PP%2dBuyNowBF&charset=UTF%2d8">Buy
    Now!</a>
    . I heard that there's a 128 character limit for
    links in Flash. Is there any way around this?
    What about forms? PayPal has the option of doing a form for a
    shopping cart. Flash won't even begin to recognize it when I just
    drop the form code in there.
    Well, thanks for the help in advance- hopefully this stuff
    can be accomplished!
    Jim

    I assume you are using the Flash TextField object set to
    render html.
    First to understand is that the extent of html recognized is
    limited and by
    player version. That means you cannot use any HTML tag you
    wish.
    See
    http://livedocs.macromedia.com/flash/8/main/00001459.html
    for the
    supported list in Flash Player 8
    You might check "About making hypertext links out of embedded
    media " as
    well:
    http://livedocs.macromedia.com/flash/8/main/00001477.html
    Malformed html in a TextField can render any tag in the field
    non
    functional. Be sure the html in the TextField is validated.
    I would assume the anchor tag in Flash text field would
    follow the same
    rules an anchor tag in HTML as to length of the query string.
    Finally consider using Flash with a button and getURL for the
    PayPal link.

  • Importing txt file and placing in set up autoflow text

    Hi there
    I'm not really an indesign user so I am extremely new to the product.
    I am wanting to place a text file into a (now) indesign template (was pagemaker) and into an autoflow text area where the text flows from one page to another.  I want to overwrite what is in the current document with this new text but wanting the new text to fill the correct pages of the template.
    My question is what is the fastest way to make this happen?
    The auto flow is already set from the pagemaker template;
    The txt file has separated the text by tabs across the page.
    Your assistance would greatly be appreciated.
    Cheers

    Without giving you a full lesson on how to format text in InDesign, I'm hoping the template contains, Text Frame placeholders (it sounds from your description that it does) Paragraph and Character styles at least to format the .txt file once the new text is in the document?
    Use your Type tool, click in the existing text and Ctrl/Cmd+A (Edit > Select All). Then choose File > Place and navigate to your .txt file to replace currently selected text.  Then format the text with appropriate paragraph styles etc.
    If particular text must start on a new page, in a different frame or column, then you could insert break characters where needed (Type > Insert Break Character). I'd generally advice that the break information -- where linked to a particular paragraph style -- is set as part of the paragraph style itself.
    You might also want to consult the InDesign Help to learn a bit more about all of this.
    Good luck,

  • Copy contents of a txt file into a transport request

    I am implementing the steps of the 990534 note.
    The note says "Create a new transport request (transaction SE09) in the source client of your Solution Manager system. Unpack file SOLMAN40_MOPZ_TTYP_SLMO_000.zip, which is attached to this note. Copy the contents of the SOLMAN40_MOPZ_TTYP_SLMO_000.txt file into the transport request."
    can anyone tell me how can I copy the contents of a txt file into a transport request?

    Hello,
    I don't know the OSS note, but I think they mean, that you have to go into the object list of your transport (in transaction SE09), switch to change mode and insert the objects from the text file.
    I guess the text file looks like:
    R3TR PROG xyz
    R3TR TABL abc
    Best regards

  • Reading values from txt file

    Hi,
    I was hoping someone could help me. I am trying to read these values
    3.182, 0.02734, 1126.0, 4.998E-4, 0.01581, 11.0, -150.3, 10.46, 3.735, 0.8474, -0.4854, 0.7866, 1.475, 0.9439, 0.769, 0.1846, 0.07678, -0.9491, -1.236, -0.9908, 0.5265, -0.27, 0.3569, -0.09167, 0.1295, -0.04507, 0.1029, -0.03005, 0.0, 0.03752, 0.001151, 0.2935, 74.84, 19080.0, 6.086, etcfrom a txt file. I have done some coding on it but dont seem to be getting the desired results. I want to take these values and put them in a 2D array.. but its not doing it. Can you see any mistakes i have done please ?
    public double[][] readFile(){
              double[][] dArray = new double[164][37];
              int a  = 0;
            int b = 0;
                    try
                    {  FileReader fin = new FileReader("myFile.txt");
                               BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(fin);
                                 String line;
                                 while((line = in.readLine()) != null){
                                String[] value = line.split(", ");
                                for (int x=0; x<value.length ; x++){
                                     System.out.println("a:  "+a+" || b: "+b);
                                         if (b == 37) {
                                                a = a++;
                                            } else
                                                dArray[a] = Double.parseDouble(value[x]);
                             System.out.println("value: "+dArray[1][1]);
                             b++;

    Yes thats because its part of larger code.. it is just a method within my code.
    but your right about the catch but so yeah sorry i missed it when i copied pasted. I ve also added you a main method.

  • HOW DO YOU CONVET AN ORACLE DATABASE FILE TO A TXT FILE?

    Is there a way in a program unit of a form to convert an ORACLE database file into TXT format? When the file gets created, I want to use the text file in a distribution list for sending email. My code in the program unit is:
    Insert into THE_IMO_EMAIL
    Select distinct imo_email from DS_POC
    where imo_email is not null;
    commit;
    Table THE_IMO_EMAIL is a temporary table. The temporary table gets deleted everytime before records get inserted into it. There is only 1 item in the temporary table.
    IMO_EMAIL VARCHAR2(55)
    After the COMMIT I want to copy the contents out of the
    THE_IMO_EMAIL into a TXT File.
    How do I do this? What parameters do I need to use? Should I do this in another program unit?

    can you be more clear on this
    "DATABASE FILE" what is this? an RDBMS file and you need this in ASCII format. I am lost.

  • Is there any way to take backed up files from an old OS and get them onto a new phone?  They are backed up as txt files.

    I have a six year old lap top with an old OS and itunes 10.  I backed up my i phone 4 on it.  I got an I phone 5 and the version of Itunes compatible is not supported by the laptop.  I installed itunes on a different computer and when trying to sync the iphone 4 to the desktop, updated the iphone 4 software.  Now my iphone 4 is no longer compatible with my laptop.  I am interested in getting my contacts and photos from my old laptop to either iphone at this point.  I have the backed up files but they are txt files in the Mobile Sync Back ups.  Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    Generally when moving from one phone to another, individuals will make a backup of the one device and then restore to the second device. However, it seems you are no longer using the computer you made the backup on, so that can be a problem. There is no way for you to take information out of the backup and insert it in the iPhone. It is an all or none proposition. But, just moving the backup folder from one computer to another doesn't work either.
    Did you sync the contacts to a supported application on the computer? Also, if you are referring to the photos in the camera roll, you can import them to the computer by connecting the phone to the computer. You do not need iTunes to do that. Just plug in and let the computer photo import utility take the pictures and put them on the computer. Then you would sync the photos back to the photo library on the new phone,
    Contacts you can look at a 3rd party app that might help. MCBackup is in the app store and converts your contacts to a file you can email to yourself and then click on it and open it. Suggest syncing contacts/calendar to a supported application on the computer, or to iCloud so you can recover a lot easier.
