Problems getting elements to work in a txt file within Flash.

Hello! I'm working on my band's new website and have been
searching many hours for answers to some problems I'm having with
txt files referenced as HTML in Flash.
Our site is
http://moumusic.com.
One of the problems is having an image as a link. For
instance, I have a photo and try to link a website to it:

It works when loaded as an HTML file, but not when viewed in

Next, I can't link to external media files. For instance, I

I assume you are using the Flash TextField object set to
render html.
First to understand is that the extent of html recognized is
limited and by
player version. That means you cannot use any HTML tag you
wish.

Malformed html in a TextField can render any tag in the field
non
functional. Be sure the html in the TextField is validated.
I would assume the anchor tag in Flash text field would
follow the same
rules an anchor tag in HTML as to length of the query string.
Finally consider using Flash with a button and getURL for the
PayPal link.

You can't merge catalogs (even PSE13 ones) in any PSE version (only LR can do that). So, converting catalogs is not the solution to your problem.
Since you have PSE5 working on your computer and your images also, the solution is to 'write metadata to files in PSE5) and to re-import the images in the PSE13 catalog. That won't duplicate your image files and you'll lose albums/collections, stacks and version sets, but you'll recover tags, captions and ratings.
To be able to re-import the files indexed in PSE5, you may have to move them to a new master folder.
I am not sure what your problem with the conversion may be. It's quite possible that the resulting catalog.pse13db is ok and that the issue lies in the ability to open it in the PSE13 organizer.
As stated by dj_page, double clicking on that file should open the organizer with the new catalog. You could test that by creating a dummy catalog in PSE13 and importing a small batch of photos. Locate the path of the catalog with the menu Help/system info. Copy the catalog.pse13db in another folder and the 'double click' way to open the organizer with that moved catalog database.

Problems getting loadMovie to work

I've created an Flash movie that I want to load external jpgs
and swf files, but I can't get it to work. I've tried:
on (press) {
loadMovie("running_order/01.jpg", "this.book_mc");
}

loads the image in a new blank window.
I've got a blank mc (called holder) with an instance name of
book_mc. That's in one movie clip and the button with the action is
in a Tween graphic but that graphic is on the same mc as the empty
mc.
I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do to get this working.
Sorry for posting in three messages but I couldn't get it to
display anything after the code so thought this was the best way of
doing it.

Problems getting bluetooth to work on T60

I am trying to get bluetooth to work on my Lenovo Thinkpad T60. Following the wiki article, I installed bluez and made sure that hal, dbus and bluetooth daemons are running. Of course, I have also made sure that the hardware switch for wifi/bluetooth on the front of the thinkpad is turned on.
Now, the situation is:

If I do "hciconfig --all", I get no output at all. A device /dev/hci* does not exist. So when I run hcitool, it tells me that there is no bluetooth device available:

In this thread is explained that one has to execute "echo enable >/proc/acpi/ibm/bluetooth" to enable the bluetooth hardware:
# echo enable > /proc/acpi/ibm/bluetooth

The directory /proc/acpi/ibm/ does exist, but root seems not to have the permission to create files there. If I enter the directory /proc/acpi/ibm/ and do "touch testfile" as root, I get "touch: cannot touch `testfile': No such file or directory".
To make a long story short, I have no idea what to do now to get bluetooth working. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Problems getting 9360 to work on VIrgin Mobile

Hi,
Bought a lovely new Curve 9360 for my daughter on O2 and unlocked it for use on Virgin (she had her original phone stolen, but the contract continues - I'm giving the O2 SIM to my wife!) but am having a devil of a time getting mobile internet working...
I've hunted around for suggestions.
One idea was to go to the advanced menu for IP Routing and send a register message. A message seems to go somewhere, but nothing happens in return.
Another idea was to use Blackberry Desktop Software to select a profile from the tools menu. My software (v 2.1.3 for Mac) doesn't have a tools menu.
Another idea was to send a service book from the blackberry web site, but when I login, all I get is options to change aspects of my blackberry id.
Another idea was to key in APN and proxy details into the TCP settings section. There doesn't appear to be anywhere to enter proxy information.
The network diagnostics tool fails on doing a ping. The tool seems to think it's on T-Mobile. I understand that Virgin uses T-Mobile, so that may be nothing to worry about, but it might be considered slightly odd.
Of course Virgin support themselves don't seem to know anything about BB OS7 devices.
This is getting a little frustrating... Please help!

How can I get Elements 11 Organiser to sort by File Name as in Elements 7

I have just acquired Elements 11 to replace Elements 7
All my main photos (thousands) are in 1 file on my computer.
My individual file names are dates - eg "1960-09Sept Venice St Marks Square.." etc, so File Names bring my thousands of images up in date order.
I have tagged them in Elements 11 as appropriate with 1 or more Tags per photo.
In Elements 7 there is an Option "Display" and one of the options is "Folder Location" i.e file name order, which is what I want.
I cannot find this option in Elements 11 - all I have found is an option to sort by just "new" or "old" i.e file date order. Fine for photgraphs where the file date is the same as the photo but a scan done today may be of an image in 1960 which is where I wanted it sorted!
I know you can amend the file date in Elements 11 for each image but I have hundreds of scans to redate!
I also know you can bring the images up in Elements 11 of my whole file by using "Reveal in Explorer" which brings them up in file name/date order for me but not when I click on the Elements 11 Tags which reverts to File Date.
Is there anyway I can get the Tags to sort by File Name/Location in Elements 11 as in Elements 7?

In fact in preparing to answer your question, I find that maybe my problem is not as bad as I thought!
Yes, I have a lot of photos but the majority in digital form are photos (2,500) since the year 2000 which will be sorted by Elements according to the photo/file date.
I have 6,000 or so prints/slides going back mostly to the 1930s but quite a few back as far as the late 1800s. I am scanning a lot of these into digital form but I have only scanned about 500 or so so far and it is only these that are causing a problem. (I am unlikely to scan all 6,000!). These range from the 1880s to 2000. However, as I only started taking digital photos in 2000, if I follow your suggestion, I could give all my scans the same file date (a date prior to 2000) and if I understand correctly what you say, they will then all be sorted in the alpha/numeric order I want.
Have I got this right?.
I suppose, as an alternative, It would not be a real problem to insert a file date for the 500 or so I have scanned and I would then just need to enter a file date for any future scans.
As you indicate, there are other options but one of the 2 options above seem at present to be my best bet.
Thank you very much for your suggestions - maybe I can now more or less get what I want without too much effort but I would still prefer Adobe to add a File Location Option as before!

Problem with RSCRM_BAPI (extraction to Fixed Lenght txt file)

Hi Experts,
I have a question about a RSCRM_BAPI limitation:
I want to extract a Query, using this transaction, to a fixed lenght .txt file. The query has a tabular structure like this:
CHARACT1 | CHARACT2 | CHARACT3 | CHARACT4 | KEYFIG_MONTH1 | KEYFIG_MONTH2 | .... | KEYFIG_MONTH12.
so i have a tabular structure with some CH and a KF repeated for the 12 month of the year.
The problem is that the fixed lenght .txt file extracted with RSCRM_BAPI stops to the month 11, month 12 is discarded. If i try to extract a .csv file with the same query all the 12 month are included in the file.
Question: Is it possible that RSCRM_BAPI has a row lenght limitation considering the fixed lenght .txt file?

You should be aware that these kind of effort always involves certain amount of risk because the proper record format is not hundred percent guaranteed. So, make sure to use properly formatted file, or genuine database instead.

InDesign stops working correctly on some files. Flashing UI and deselecting objects.

I am using the latest version of InDesign (10.0.0.70) on the latest version of Mac OSX (10.9.4).
Recently I have been having an issue with InDesign which only affects some documents. The interface sort of flashes every few seconds sort of like the application frame is being deselected and then selected again. Whenever this happens (roughly every 4 seconds) anything I was doing is deselected, so if I'm dragging an object it snaps back to where it was and is deselected or if I'm entering a value into an input box the input box is deselected and reset. I think you can imagine how this can make InDesign fairly unusable.
The problem doesn't occur on all documents, but I've been unable to find any link between the files it does do it on. Sometimes it will occur on a completely blank document that has just been created and other times it will be fine. On files that it does occur on it sticks and consistently happens to those files, if I copy the contents of the file onto a new document that was unaffected the problem does go away temporarily, but will occur again after a little while or the next time I open the file. Saving the file as an IDML does not make the problem go away it carries over to it. Deleting every element and all pages on an affected file doesn't fix the problem either.
The problem does only seem to occur on one file at a time, if I have multiple files open only one of them will be affected, if I open two affected files at the same time one of them will be fixed and the problem will go away while the file is active and then return when I switch back to the other one. If I then close one of the files the problem will re affect the file.
Copying an affected file off of the server I work off and opening it from my desktop does not change anything.
I work in a studio with five other Macs all running the same version of OSX and InDesign none of the others are affected by this at all. My Mac is only a few months old and the newest of the lot, I don't have anything different installed on it from the others.
I have tried completely removing InDesign and Creative Cloud and doing a fresh install which did not solve the problem.

Sounds like you have an Extensis font manager. Turn off the auto-activation plugin and complain to Extensis.

Actions not working to imported swf files in Flash Catalyst

Hi,
I have a problem with manipulating my imported swf files (created in Flash professional) in Flash Catalyst CS5. Whenever I add any of the swf control actions to a swf file in the timeline such as 'stop', the animation ignores it and keeps replaying. I tried to add action sequence when a certain button is pressed, and also tried to create 'On application Start' and added 'stop' so that the animation stops immediately when the application opens. No matter what I do, the animation refuses to perform the actions and simply replays. The animation is a simple shape tween between 2 states with no action script attached to it. I published the animation as an swf and exported it to Flash Catalyst. Is there any suggestions whatsoever on why this is happening? Is it something to do with setting up my flash file prior to import? The only way I figured out to stop the animation from playing is adding action script to the flash file in Flash Professional however this is not what I want because I would like the animation to be controlled by components in my flash Catalyst document.

You can make you swf a custom component with 2 states.
The first state will be empty and rename it "OFF" the second state will have your swf file and name it ON.
Then go back to your artboard/project, add your 2 buttons ON & OFF.
For the ON button add interaction "play transition to custom component ON"
For the OFF button add interaction "play transition to custom component OFF"

Editing .txt files inside flash

Right now, I have it set up so that each button on my flash will open up a .txt file. I want to have it set up so that the user can not only read the txt file but edit it and save it to the original .txt file. My current code looks like this:

Having problems getting it to work...help me!

I go to school, and our school has a web filtering device
that prevents us students from accessing many a website, and I
would like your help. I so far am able to pass the main page that
pops up when it reads "Web Filter Violation", and get on to the
websites that are supposed to be blocked, but when clicking a link
for a video to pop up, it freezes at the black screen with the
white writing reading "loading..." , because this filter prevents
its use. I know this because I test my wireless connection every
where else and these videos work fine. I was wondering if anyone
could either find a way for me to direct flash/adobe as foreign so
that the filter will not recognize it and block it, or if someone
could tell me another type of software they are using because they
are in the same situation. Now you should know this, using a proxy
server does not fix this problem, and I can't change the security
settings because I am merely a student. I have tried these, and as
far as I am concerned, they don't work. But if it of any
consellation, I am not directly hooked up to the school by cord,
I'm picking up signas with an ethernet card, so access to my
security settings and software I am able to download is unlimited.

I think you're best choice is to work within your school's
administration to resolve 'why' it's blocked. That's the right
thing.

Australian iPhone (unlocked) Problems getting it to work in USA

I took my Australian iPhone with me on our trip to Hawaii in June '09 year. Although AT&T has a monopoly on iPhones in the 'states, this is not the case in Australia where all wireless providers offer them. Anyway, mine is unlocked from any network, and it was my understanding prior to the trip that T-Mobile could sell me a 'prepaid' SIM and also a data pack called 'Sidekick' for my iPhone while in Hawaii. Turns out not so simple...
I went to a T-Mobile store on Maui and the guy there explained that my phone probably would not work with one of their SIMs as it would need to have been unlocked in a particular way to work with T-Mobile. He put one of their SIMs in it anyway as a test and sure enough it did not work. We're coming to Alaska via Hawaii for 3.5 weeks in June 2010 and it would be handy to solve this problem for that trip, if in fact it can be solved.
I called a T-Mobile store today and the guy told me they have a prepaid option called FlexPay that would allow me to get a month's voice and data (EDGE at least) while I'm there with no contract. I asked him about my previous experience where a T-Mobile sim card would not work in my phone. The guy said something about the 'base stand' maybe being the issue. Does this make any sense? Any ideas how I can get an unlocked iPhone to work for me in the US or what the technical issue the T-Mobile rep is referring to might be?

If the phone is unlocked, it should work on T-Mobile with no problems. The phone would need a modified carrier file but I don't think that can be talked about on this forum. You can search Google for T-Mobile USA carrier file. That will get you started.
Oh, and I think the post above mine is spam. I have no clue what it is talking about.
