About  IUIFontSpec in CS2

I add IUIFontSpec to kStaticTextWidgetBoss and kDropDownListWidgetBoss:
AddIn
kStaticTextWidgetBoss,
kInvalidClass,
IID_IUIFONTSPEC,kUIFontSpecImpl,
AddIn
kDropDownListWidgetBoss,
kInvalidClass,
IID_IUIFONTSPEC,kUIFontSpecImpl,
In CS4: it's work fine .it can change StaticTextWidget font
and DropDownListWidget font .
but In CS2, there is a problem. it can change only StaticTextWidget font, can't change DropDownListWidget font.
why? anybody could help?

I would use this approach:
Catch the opening of the dialog.
- In a startup provider, attach an observer to the kAppBoss / IID_IWINDOWLIST
- wait for kWindowAddedMessage, given (as void*) a window
Check whether you got the right dialog window
- first sub-widget is kFootnoteSettingsDialogWidgetID.
Find the dropdown widget, using IPanelControlData.
Hide the widget from its parent and insert your own.
Connect observers so that your widget feeds the hidden widget, maybe vice versa.
Remember that dialogs might be cached, so do that patch only once.
Your problem remains, if the stock implementation of the controlview ignores the specified font, you have to write your own controlview. Happy Programming!

  • Need info about cs and cs2.

i have several copies of creative suite cs, photoshop cs, illustrator cs and illustrator cs2.
but now adobe take down the server so i cant activate anymore.
but i found the download link that adobe provide with serial.
    my question is:
    1) my version is cs, can i still use the cs2 that adobe giv?
    2) if cs cant use the cs2 that adobe provide, how do i activate the cs version?
    3) the serial csn be use on multiple pc?
    thanks

I ran into this problem last night, my Photoshop CS (Windows version) lost its activation at some point since the time it was used last about a week ago. Coincidently, I had installed a new version of Norton Internet Security during this time, and thought it had something to do with this problem. I tried turning off Norton, but it made no difference trying to reactivate Photoshop. Apparently, sometime around 12/13/12 to 12/15/12, Adobe shut down the server that supports CS & CS2 product activations.
Whether Norton affected the original Adobe Product activation or not is a moot point (Symantec denies their product it at fault), as it is now no longer possible to reactivate the CS version, either by internet or phone. I logged into my Adobe account, followed the link to the CS2 activation fix, I didn't find anything for supportting CS, but decided to try downloading the CS2 version of Photoshop. It installed and a ran fine with the new key Adobe provided.
The biggest thing is that I got lucky in getting the fix, and while the Adobe phone support guy said he couldn't support my old CS product, he did give me the web link to find the work-around. While it was frustrating to lose use of my original CS product, I guess I can't complain as I got a minor version upgrade that appears to work fine at no cost.

  • Question about loading Premiere CS2

I have Premiere Pro 1.5 on a dying computer with XP operating system.  I couldn't get 1.5 reauthorized so Adobe gave me a CS2 download with serial number..  I tried to load CS2 on the newer computer with Microsoft Vista as the operating system.  At first it hung on "Error 1311 - Source file not found.  Data1.cab."  I moved Data1.cab to the directory and then I was able to get past that error.  CS2 continued installation until it got to the help files, which didn't load.  The rest of the CS2 seemed to load OK.
I then tried to open CS2.  It bombs after 3 seconds of the opening page.  Any ideas?

I don't have a CD of CS2.  I downloaded a second copy of CS2 from Adobe and had the same result.  However I was repairing the origional CS2 with the second copy.  I will uninstall CS2 and try to install the newer copy of CS2 later.
I am wondering... Could it be that CS2  doesn't like Vista?

  • Photoshop cs2 and rosetta

I can not find the box in "Photoshop CS2" in order to open in rosetta. In fact none of my apps info table seem to have the "open app in rosetta" box.
I am really having trouble with Photoshop. I've uninstalled, repaired disk, reinstalled still get the message to "One or more files in Adobe Application Support folder, necrssary for running Photoshop, are missing. etc" If i continue I get some message about cannot complete request. I need help
imac intel Core 2 Duo   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

I think that it will work, there are several items
that they don't include in the upgrade to stop people
from just buying the upgrade and running it as a full
    program.
While I can't say it with absolute certainty about the Photoshop CS2 installer, this hasn't been the case with Adobe's apps for quite a while now. You shouldn't have to have Photoshop installed on your computer in order to install the upgrade version. If you didn't have the previous version installed, you'd just have to supply the install disc for the old version when the installer asked for it.
But I'll be able to test it for sure this week for sure when I install the whole Creative Suite 2 on an Intel iMac.

  • Leopard and Adobe Photoshop CS2 problems...

I've been reading the posts about Leopard and CS2 problems and have to say that I'm confused. A great many of you have had issues from the very beginning as soon as you upgraded to Leopard. I did not. I use a VERY basic set-up without third party plugins and suspect that to be why I had no problems. At least until now... I looked back through my documents to be sure, and my Photoshop was working beautifully through the first week of January. Somewhere between then and now there had to be an update from Apple that broke Photoshop. I haven't changed any settings since it last worked, and there certainly haven't been any updates from the greedy buggers over at Adobe because they don't support CS2 anymore apparently. What could Apple have updated that might have accidently corrupted my Photoshop?? I don't really feel it could be anything else, but who knows... Does anyone have any ideas? I would hate to have to downgrade to OS 10.4 just to use my Photoshop and I certainly can't afford to shell out the extra $$ for CS3.
I appreciate any light you guys can shed on the topic...
    Stan

Actually the 10.5.2 update does seem to have improved things for me with Photoshop CS1. I can now actually type entries into the little boxes for things like crop and brush sizes. The File Browser is still prone to crashing the application though, and there is still some weirdness with opening files by a drag and drop onto the app icon in the Dock. But nothing got worse, and several annoyances disappeared.
One thing to try is to create a brand new admin test user, with no additions (that includes not adding fonts), log into the new account and see if Photoshop will work there.
And speaking of fonts, do you have Linotype's Font Explorer installed? If so, did you get the new updater for it? Some people who use Font Explorer were having a lot of problems after the 10.5.2 update, including Photoshop failure to launch, that were fixed with the Font Explorer update.

  • Windows Vista and Photoshop CS2 Compatibility?

I am considering the purchase of a new computer. I have Photoshop CS2, and I am debating whether to get Windows Vista or Windows XP Pro. I have read in the database about Vista and CS2, "Installs and runs with minimal known issues." But it also states under Support for Windows Vista, "not officially." So I am wondering whether anyone has PSCS2 running under Vista, and what kinds of problems you've encountered? Thank you.

I have come across a severe Photoshop CS2 incompatibility with Vista.
One of my printers is an Epson Stylus R310, which prints on both paper and disc. While this model has been on the market for a number of years, many people are still using it, especially those who, like me, have added a continuous-flow ink system to it.
Epson appears to have sat back meekly and allowed Microsoft, whose programming limitations know no bounds, to produce a Vista 'driver' for the R310. Epson even proudly announces on its various international sites that the driver is 'In-box'.
This so-called driver is so poor that Epson has had to release a PDF that shows how to fool the printer into printing to disc when using Epson's own CD Print software under Vista. The Epson XP driver automatically switches the printer dialogue to CD mode, but with the Vista CD workaround the paper mode is retained on screen and it is not until the printer reacts in CD configuration that a user knows that the workaround has worked.
When it comes to Photoshop no workaround seems possible. Print Preview just doesn't work as it does under XP. It is not possible to switch printers, so the target printer has to be made the default so that a preview appears. Otherwise, the user is stuck with the default. In my case, I have used the Photoshop preview box under XP to switch from my default A4/A3 mono laser if I want to use the R310 or my HP 1220. Epson Support's reaction to this situation is that it is up to Photoshop to change.
Problems such as these with the R310 under Vista no doubt apply to many other printers whose Vista drivers carry the dreaded '(M)' in their name.
This leads to a question of my own. I am wondering whether CS3 has tackled this problem of using truncated Microsoft Vista printer drivers with Photoshop. Can anyone enlighten me?

  • A CS2 Epiphany on Installation Failures Mac PPC

I have a legitimate copy of PhotoShop CS2 (upgrade) from PhotoShop 6 and have been using it for years on an iMac (PPC) currently running OS 10.4.11.  I needed to reformat the HDD on it due to it being full and the computer running a bit slow.  I de-activated the software as noted in Adobe's FAQ.  I then did a low level reformat and re-installed OS 10.4.2.  I upgraded that to OS 10.4.11 via the combo updater.  I attempted to re-install CS2 and it wouldn't get past the start to install point without showing an error message and quitting the installation.  I tried my trusty Disk Warrior, Onyx, Mac Cleanse to attempt to fix things, still can't get it to install.  Several days of frustrations and it being a weekend so no ones home at Adobe, I looked at the console logs.  That's something that can really put you to sleep, reading those.  Anyway, I see an error with the install in the log, showing that the HDD isn't the correct format.  It shows HFSX.  I formatted my HDD in the correct format for PPC which is APM.  I also had it as HFS extended with case sensitive journaled HFS+ (HFSX) volume.  Well apparently Adobe didn't get the message out about that for CS2 &3 that they can't run in a HFSX volume.  So I reformatted to an HFS extended only volume and I was able to get CS2 to install!  There are several choices for formatting a PPC HDD and that is what Adobe should address, not the typical OSX voodoo like permissions and such.  So I'm still able to use my old but working CS2 on a PPC iMac.
    Denis

CS2 was my concern, not CS3.  Anyway its working now.  Again with the many different formatting options available in OSX this should be the first thing addressed by Adobe for such issues, i.e., is your HDD formatted as HSFX, if so the Adobe product will not run/work.  That's what's needed in their troubleshooting guide for PhotoShop and it's not there.
I hope this post helps someone else.  Constructive criticism is all this is.

  • Upgrade from CS2 to CS3? (for Windows XP)

Hi, guys. I'm new here. And I only signed up for the forums so I could ask someone for help!! Haha! So, here goes......
I recently started using Adobe CS2.
I signed up for the 30 day trial of RadLab by Totally Rad. It worked fine, but my trial expired before I could finish the photos I had been editing. So I uninstalled the RadLab trial, signed up for a new trial with a different e-mail address, and re-installed it. Only, this time, RadLab wouldn't work. So I contacted Totally Rad and the guy told me that RadLab won't work on CS2. It has to be CS3 or higher. (I'm still confused as to how RadLab worked for 30 days on my CS2 if it supposedly only works on CS3 or higher)...
So, now, I am looking to upgrade from CS2 to CS3... but I don't know where to look. I tried Google, but nothing seems to match what I'm looking for. I would hate to upgrade all the way up to CS5, because I don't think my PC could handle it. (I've been told that CS5 takes up a lot of room, and I don't think my computer is strong enough to hold it all. My memory capabilities are very limited. Even with CS2, I couldn't open/edit much all at once.)
I say all that, to ask this...
How do I go about upgrading from CS2 to CS3, and it not cost me an arm and a leg? I'm on a super-tight budget ($150 is the absolute highest I'm willing to go). I'm unemployed and money is extremely tight.
Thank you in advance for your help!!

I don't want to burst your bubble about using Photoshop CS3, but I would expect any software with good trialware security to not work twice on the same system no matter whether you sign up with a different eMail address.  They'd be stupid not to have it work that way.
If you need the software to get your project done, why not actually buy it?
You're no doubt expecting to derive value from your project...  Shouldn't the people who worked to create the software you're using derive some value from their work as well?
I can appreciate your being on a budget, but the old saying "if you want to play you have to pay" comes to mind.  I'm sorry to be blunt.

  • Mac: Upgrading PS CS2 to PS CS3; LR sees CS3 - what I did.

After reading several threads asking about upgrading from CS2 to CS3 and how that impacts LR, I decided to bite the bullet and did things the way I wanted. Here are my results for a MacBookPro 2 GB ram, core duo:
    * I first deactived CS2, since I didn't want to keep it. Might use it on another mac.
    * I then used App Zapper to uninstall CS2. This deletes the app's folder along with folders in the library or other files related to CS2.
    * Installed PSCS3 extended and activated.
Finally invoked LR and chose an image. When I clicked on the Photo menu item, a submenu item was "edit in Adobe Photoshop CS3" (no reference to CS2). I tested it and sure enough, it all worked.

I believe it is.... but I could be wrong.
Also realize that although a few Adobe employees may be kind enough to visit the forums on their own time, this is a user to user forum and not a direct route to Adobe support. So, no one here has control over the KB.

  • Convert Indesign CS2 plugin to Xcode 3?

    Hi all,
I want to compile a sample plugin project given in the InDesign CS2 SDK using xcode 3.
How can i go about this?
Any documentation about porting InDesign CS2 plugin code to Xcode 3?
I want to do this since im not able to get CW 9.3 to develop a CS2 plugin.
    Thanks
    myriaz

If your goal is to use Xcode to write CS2 plugin, you can forget about it.
My understanding is, CS2 is locked with CodeWarrior's ABI and Xcode (GCC) uses a different ABI.

  • CS2 re-install on mac osx 10.4.11

I have a powerbook G4 (about 4 years old) with OS X 10.4.11 Tiger on it.  I need to do a clean install of the OS and then reinstall my CS2, but have not been able to find anything regarding whether or not that will be a problem? I know Adobe no longer supports CS2 so will i be able to register? I was not able to do the transfer activation thing... I definitely cannot afford to buy CS4. Thank you for any advice!

Just so there is no confusion about this, although Adobe does not provide technical support anymore for CS2, it does provide ongoing support for CS2 product activation. If at all possible, deactivate CS2 prior to doing your system reinstallation. Then, install the CS2 software and try activating. It should work without a problem. If it does prompt you to call Adobe's Activation Center, do so. They should provide the code necessary to reactivate your software. If the person you are talking to makes any absurd claims about not supporting CS2, ask for their name (keep that information) and request to immediately speak with a supervisor who should be able to properly assist you.

I have had to have my hard drive replaced.I cannot now activate cs2 after a fresh install i need to activate it so that I can install the upgrade cs5 help me please

i need to activate it so that I can install the upgrade cs5
Not necessary. Forget about re-installing CS2 first in order to re-install CS5.
Just install the CS5 upgrade (it contains the full program code), enter your CS5 upgrade serial number then enter your CS2 serial number when prompted.

  • Using Magic Wand to select & enahance path in CS2

I have an aerial image in a .JPEG file which shows a  GPS track/route.  I would like to enhance/alter the appeareance of this track/route in the image.  For example, I would like to possibly increase the thickness of the track/route, possibibly change the color and most importantly be able to change the appearance of the track/route to appear as  a dashed or dotted line.  I do not wish to change the size or shape of the track/route as it currently appears on the image.  I am able to select this entire route using the Magic Wand tool but I am unable to further maninpulate it.   Any suggestions on how to most efficiently achieve my desired goal(s)?  I have thought about using Illustrator CS2 but it seems as though when using Illustrator there is no feasible way to select the track/route with the magic Wand tool like you can in Photoshop CS2.
See attached aerial image file which shows the GPS track/route.
    Thanks!
Using Photoshop CS2 on a Windows PC

to increase the thickness, after you selected it, go to Select->Modify->Expand, make a new layer and with the selection still active, fill that layer with whatever color you want. Getting a pattern to follow that selection will be very hard to do though. You'd probably need to make a checkerboard brush, make a path that follows the red outline and then stroke that path with the brush you just made (make sure that the brush has a spacing of 100%)

  • CS2 to CS3

I have a question about upgrading from CS2 to CS3...
Obviously, CS2 does not include Dreamweaver or Flash, so when
I install the upgrade version of CS3, will it install Flash and/or

Actually, that's not obvious as my CS2 included DW8.
You'd have to read the upgrade policy on the Adobe site and
    pick which
version you were upgrading to. There are several different

  • How to restore missing fonts after Mavericks upgrade

If your fonts are not working in Pages and other software after a Mavericks  'upgrade', it might be that you still have them, and simply need to turn them back on...
    1. Go to Font Book
    2. Find the failing fonts.
    3. If they are marked 'Off' then right click them and highlight 'Enable Fonts' option.
    Hope this helps!

FWIW Mavericks has wasted DAYS of my time this week... it disabled fonts, made my WD HDD incompatible, trashed Time Machine and lost my Google Drive folder, so my files don't sync etc.

There's a very old thread about this for CS2. Domingo Chavez listed the required fonts and where they belong for that version, and even posted them for others to download and replace. I don't know if the collection has changed, but judging from my system I think not, so it would be worth trying the older files. As always, back up first..
Start reading at http://forums.adobe.com/message/1308262#1308262 where you'll see the lists, and a bit further down you should find the links to where the files were posted. The first link is to a.rar archive, further down is a link to a slightly freindlier .zip version. What the heck, here's that link, which still seems to be active: http://public.newrandom.com/Reqrd.zip
But read the thread, anyway, so you understand what's up.
