About maximum ipv4 routes for GSR router

Hi all,
I am planning to install GSR 12404 router for Internet router to receive full BGP routing table. Just wondering what the maximum routes supported for GSR into the CEF?
The hardware will be used is as below
PRP-2
SIP-400 w/ SPA-2x1GE
Thanks,

looshfoo wrote:thinking about it, could it be the dhcp lease on the local router going up and it running a dhcp request and getting the route again?
Yes.
Your lease is only valid for X minutes/hours, after that it has to be renewed, which will recreate the def route. There's probably a config option in your dhcp client to ignore the def route.

  • Unable to query IPv4 router of manually configured interface

I need to determine the IPv4 router for a given Ethernet/WiFi interface.
The route table can not always be used to determine the router in the case of a multi-homed system.
So, the SystemConfiguration framework seems to be the right choice to use by querying the kSCPropNetIPv4Router property from the network service associated with the interface.
This works fine assuming the Ethernet or WiFi interface is configured using DHCP. However, if the interface is manually configured then the kSCPropNetIPv4Router property doesn't seem to exist!
I have a sample program which illustrates this and scutil seems to show the same thing.

  • Sep 02 20:31:01    Severity:4    DHCP Client lease rejected from IPv4 router addr , MAC addr

    Problem:
Time Capsule kept loosing connectivity from internet modem. ISP has no records of outages.
    Logs:
    Sep 02 20:31:01    Severity:4    DHCP Client lease rejected from IPv4 <router addr>, MAC <addr>
    Resolution:
Make sure you TC is not connected to the same coax cable that the cable box is connected to.
Although, the system may work just fine for quite some time, eventually service will be disrupted by some device attempting to connect over and over.
For some reason, Time Capsule doesn't perform well when a device attempts to authenticate over and over, even if they device clearly isn't part of the Access Control List or even have the correct password.
So, in this case the the offending mac address was Scientific Atlanta Device, which was my cable box.
    Regards!

I have seen the same issue with my iOS and Mac OS devices (iPhone and MacBook Pro). I have written my own DHCP server (http://notebook.kulchenko.com/embedded/dhcp-and-dns-servers-with-arduino) and have had troubles getting my devices to connect (Windows Vista and Ubuntu devices connect fine). I suspect that this problem happens because the DHCP Offer message is sent to a broadcast address, even though (at least in my case) the broadcast flag is off in the DHCP Discover message I see.
Unfortunately you didn't include the Discover message, so I can't tell for sure, but if it indeed has the broadcast flag set to 0, then the server should send the response message using unicast as per DHCP spec (http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc2131.txt, section 4.1):
If the broadcast bit is not set and 'giaddr' is zero and
'ciaddr' is zero, then the server unicasts DHCPOFFER and DHCPACK
messages to the client's hardware address and 'yiaddr' address.
So, it seems like in this case the server may be at fault, even though it would be nice for Mac OS to accept broadcast responses (and would solve my problem too).
Can someone confirm that Mac OS does not accept broadcast responses to DHCP Discover and DHCP Request messages? Thanks.
    Paul.

  • Advertising ipv4 routes via ipv6 bgp peers

    Hello,
I have established IPV6 bgp sessions with ipv6 prefix-list filter. But ipv4 routes were advertised over this bgp session. Do I I need special configuration under address family or ipv4 prefix-list filters required ?
Note : the config was  IBGP between 7200 routers and 6509 core switches.
    Thank you all
    Nael

    Hi Nael,
This is because address-family ipv4 unicast gets activated by default when you configure a new neighbor in BGP. You either need to configure "no bgp default ipv4-unicast" or go under address-family ipv4 unicast and do a "no neighbor" for the ipv6 neighbor.
    Hope this helps

  • About the SOAP routing model

    Hi all experts,
Now I am elaborating on the SOAP message details and have some confusions about the SOAP routing model. I have checked many online resources but unfortunately none of them seem to have a very detailed explanation on this.
My question is, how does a SOAP node, an[i] intermediary node, for example, report itself as a specific role? Also, many online resources say that a role is identified using a unique URI. However, it seems according to the SOAP 1.2 spec, there are only three roles defined, so why is there any need to uniquely define it?
By the way, could any one advice a place that I can find the offical W3C Schema for SOAP message 1.2? It is at least no easy to find on google.
    Thanks very much!
    Michael

Routing is specified using WS-Addressing now:
    http://www.w3.org/Submission/ws-addressing/
The SOAP 1.2 messaging framework is at:
    http://www.w3.org/TR/2003/REC-soap12-part1-20030624/
I've just been navigating to the w3.org site and using their links to navigate to these specs nowadays. I agree, all the links from searching Google are pretty confusing.

  • Maximum cable lengths for USB / FW / DVI & sVGA?

I've hunted around on the net and can't find any kind of definitive answer regarding maximum cable lengths for USB, Firewire 400/800 and DVI / sVGA monitors. Can anyone shed some light?
I'm about to shift my studio into a new room, and have the oppourtunity to stick my G5 and external drives into a corridor cupboard adjacent to where my studio is - in other words, noise free bliss! But....
...if I map out how far my computer monitors, keyboard and audio interface will be from the cupboard, and take into account the twists and turns involved in neat routing, I'm looking at a distance of about 10 meters. I need to know if any of these devices will be OK with such a long run of cable, and if not, if it's possible to achieve a good result using hubs or repeaters?
So, can anyone help me out with info on:
    an Apogee Ensemble (Firewire 400)
    an Apple keyboard (USB 2.0)
    an LCD flatscreen (DVI)
    and another LCD flatscreen (sVGA)
    Many thanks!

I was just researching the very same thing, though it does not  sound like my studio setup will be as sweet as yours. Here are a few things I ran across:

"The maximum cable length specified by the IEEE1394 standard is 4.5 meters. However, more recent tests have shown that certain high quality firewire cables can achieve longer lengths without significantly affecting transmission quality. Several manufacturers sell firewire cables longer than 5 meters (some up to 50 meters)."

I found an example of a company who claims to sell a firewire cable of that length:

There were a bunch sites with devices claiming to do this.
Finally I have this chart, which seems to support what what the articles say, without of course any other extension technology/solutions:

    hi

Since about 2 weeks ago for no apparent reason, the internet on my iPad suddenly stopped working (when I open Safari, it says: "Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the Internet"), even though the Wifi icon in the top left corner still shows full signal. However, I noticed when I went into Wifi settings (Settings>Wifi) that there is no checkmark next to my network name (only the spinning circle icon, as if it's trying to process something). This only happens at home (I can browse the internet while connected to  Wifi at university). My other Apple devices (MacBook Pro and iPhone 4S) work perfectly fine at home.
I've tried resetting my router, restarting my iPad, resetting Network Settings on my iPad, and tried following Hynes' instructions on this thread:https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2453187?start=15&tstart=0, but nothing has worked so far (although I have to admit that I found the instructions on that thread somewhat confusing, so there is a chance that I accidentally did not follow them properly).
Could someone please help? It'd be VERY much appreciated.

  • Thinking about using Time Machine for the first time...

I just assume that updates are inherently good to have, regardless of what it's for. I figure that the developers know a lot more than I do regarding the optimization or improvement of their own software, so I simply allow their download. I'm thinking about using my Time Machine for the first time and reverting back to the pre-9.1 install, if that's even possible. Things were working fine for me and now there are all kinds of issues with communication between my Axiom Pro 61 and Logic. Nothing responds through Hypercontrol anymore, and I don't expect any updates from M-Audio until at least 2012. Anyone else thinking about taking this route?

Yes, I did. I opened that version immediately after I discovered that 9.1 had that effect and the controller was still inoperative. Of course, I still have MIDI input and PB/Mod wheel control, but that's about it. Everything else would need to be manually loaded, which the Pro series is supposed to do automatically. I haven't restarted my iMac yet, nor have I tried removing the keyboard from the computer altogether and perhaps reconnecting it. Maybe that would reset it...

  • 6230i - What's the maximum attachment size for EMa...

    Hi
I got my new 6230i (Firmware 3.40 on T-Mobile) yesterday and have just set up my email on it and discovered that you can attach files to emails. Only problem seems to be that it says my attachments exceed the limit. That's a bit unfortunate as I've tried to attach only one image (~350kB) which I took with the built in camera.
Anyone know what the maximum size allowed for an attachment is and is there a way around it?
    Thanks
    Thomas

We are talking about 6230i (and not 6630).
In 6230i case, the max. size is limited:
    Sending: 100kB
    Receiving: 50kB
This is limited by the phone (and not network or email provider).Message Edited by embedded_system on 19-May-2006

  • Maximum file size for export into MP4?

    Hello,
I am not able to export 2 hour HD video into standard MP4 file. It seems that reaching 100% export algorithm gets into loop. I was waiting for hours and still had seen progress at exactly 100% with final file size on hard disk to be 0 bytes. I am using CS5 on MAC OS X. I had to split my timeline to 2 parts and to export them separately (which is embarrasing). Is there something like maximum file size for export? I guess that 2h video would have about 25-35GB.
    Thank you
    jiri

    You are right.
So I am running AP Pro 5.0.4, Adobe Media Encoder 5.0.1.0 (64bit). Operating system Mac OS X ver 10.7.3. All applications are up to date.
    MacBook Pro Intel i5 2.53GB, 8GB RAM, nVidia GT 330M 256 MB, 500GB HDD
Video is 1920x1080 (AVCHD) 25fps in a .MTS container  (major part of timeline), 1280x720 30fps in .MOV container (2mins), Still images 4000x3000 in .JPG
No error message is generated during export - everything finishes without any problem...just file created has 0 byte size (as described above).
This is my largest video project (1h 54min) I dont have any other problem with other projects.
I dont run any other special software, at the moment of export all usual applications are closed so that MacBook "power" can go to Media Encoder. No codecs installed, using VLC Player or Quick Time.
Attached please find printscreen from Export settings (AP Pro). Writing this ppost I tried to export only the first 4mins from timeline where all kind of media is used...and it was OK.
As a next step I will try to export (same settings) 1h 30mins as I still believe problem comes with length of video exported.

As suggested above I assume this is a microsoft issue?  It has been discussed here and other forums for quite some time.  I never have seen a fix?  I wish when we received errors of this nature microsoft would tell us what they were.  How is this related to superfetch?  What is superfetch?  Why would superfetch have changed?
BY THE WAY....  Superfetch is on(started) is on automatic and logs on as local system.  So this is not the cause of my issue.  Also what is readyboot?  Does the average computer really know what these programs/services or unique microsoft words/terms are?

  • DPS(pdf): What is the maximum zoom-factor for the iPad

    Hi,
What is the maximum zoom-factor for the iPad?
    Regards,
    Anil Yadav

I'm sorry -- I have not communicated my question well.   When I use full
page mode (no window borders, Ctrl-L) and zoom to many thousands %, then
entire screen (14000 pixels by 1200 pixels) is not used -- only about 9000
pixels x 1200 pixels.   The entire screen should have document content
because I'm extremely zoomed in.  There is no meaning to pixels/inch in
this context (and I tried your suggestion -- it made no difference).   This
seems to be a hard limitation of Adobe Reader X screen display...?

So, I have just about had it. For nine days now,  I have valiantly tried to move my library to an external drive. At first, I attempted to move it to my 2TB Time capsule. iTunes didn't like its new home though and moved home without telling me. So then there were two libraries. I meshed them back together reluctantly and iTunes in a silent revolt, absolutely refused to use its own 'Keep Library Organized' criteria and may as well have thrown my music against the wall. Seriously, my 5 year old nephew has his computer files better managed. Then I bought a 3TB Time Capsule and you may ask yourself why??? Well, iTunes doubled in size- although when I ran apps that are designed to find duplicate iTunes files, it deleted the music I actually bought from iTunes. So then I watched as iTunes got it back. How you ask; I run a MacBook Air, iMac and Mac mini in my house - as soon as one powered up it hit the net like a sailor on leave and re-downloaded it all without abandon. I tried to keep the libraries separate, no success there. I tried to keep them unified; iTunes response was to ask me if I wanted to join iTunes Match every time I logged on to my computer and on any computer - my iTunes match song number has been as high as 24,367 and as low as 11,112. And I can't simply refuse iTunes. No one refuses iTunes. Refusal to allow iTunes Match to run through all 24000 songs again was to revoke my rights to the songs that were once part of my library. If I took a long time to decide or was visibly impatient while iTunes did its little 3 hour scan it would arbitrarily decide that music I bought from iTunes was ineligible for iTunes Match. How could that possibly be??? I am missing music, or at least iTunes tells me so by showing me that lovely exclamation point. I have tried backing up my computer to do a full system restore and start all over. Time Capsule claims I have 979 GB of data and takes its sweet time to even back up one gig (about 18 minutes) even though I can transfer files to my Time Capsule at about 1 GB every 40 seconds. I guess though performing back-ups are somewhat like government jobs; it will get done, when it gets done. The back up requirement of 979 GB is surprising though, my Mac claims that I currently occupy just about 25% of my 2TB drive. The discrepancy, who knows, but I think the solution lies somewhere in iTunes. But maybe iPhoto. But that is for another time.

After admittedly only a quick read the one thing you don't say is how you are trying to make this move.  Most people with moving library issues do it the wrong way.  Plenty of web sites tell you how to do it the wrong way.
If the iTunes application is started before the drive with the library is fully mounted and awake iTunes will revert back to the internal drive.
