About the Forums Redesign

Thank you to everyone who participated in our Forum reskin private beta. We received a lot of very helpful feedback that went a long way in helping us really understand what is most valuable and important to all of our members.
The Adobe Forums have not had a major design update since we originally launched on the Jive platform back in 2009. However, with the launch of Adobe Creative Suite 6 and the Adobe Creative Cloud, we expect that the Adobe Forums will become an even more essential resource for the entire Adobe community.
In fact, one of the major design goals was to create a more integrated user experience between the Creative Cloud, Adobe.com, and the Forums. Some of the major changes include:
Dramatically simplified global navigation
More consistent sign-in/sign-out experience
Common UI elements and interface conventions, including shared fonts (Adobe Clean served via TypeKit) and color palettes. In fact, both the Creative Cloud and Adobe Forums now use a dark-grey right-hand navigation panel where all of the tools/actions are aligned (just like in our desktop apps).
Streamlined interface, pared clean of cluttered icons and redundant options — so you can really focus on the content that you care most about.
And finally, an optimized layout designed to cultivate the true heart and soul of the Forums experience: community Q&A.
This last goal, in particular, is the most exciting for all of us on the Adobe team – we understand that in a true community of experts, help is not a document. It’s a conversation. That conversation starts here – in this forum with this community. And the whole team here at Adobe, from design to engineering, honors that simple idea and we hope to share more exciting news with you over the coming months as we explore fresh ways to create connections, conversations, and content.
And yes, we know -- the new theme is still not 100% perfect so please continue to report bugs in the Known Issues thread. The team is listening and we will be responding quickly with new patches and bug fixes on a regular basis. In the meanwhile, we look forward to many, many great conversations to come!

"the new theme is still not 100% perfect" and so I deliberately waited with my answer a little bit. In addition to this my previous speakers have mentioned, I'll show you the graphical representation on MY computer:

5. The font size or the screen display in my opinion are made too small and therefore difficult to read.

Question about the forum and my email

Every time I visit the forum ,no matter what i do,submit new messages ,search tutorials and etc,I always receive a email correspondingly.
So I can receive a lot of new emails that are not important for me.I 'd like to cancel this function,How can i config the forum,can anyone give me a hand ?

Uncheck the 'E-mail me if someone replies to this" checkbox toward the bottom of the message creation page (just below the Submit Post button). You can also set up to have the notification turned off in your member profile setup options.

Now, I am probably the only one here, who could easily translate your statements. I do not think that Babblefish has a Mississippian to English module. Being from Mississippi, that is the way that I speak. For me, English is a "second language."
With the exception of "ya'll," I do not think that the great Eudora Welty could have done better.
Now, I see similar to what you speak of. There have been Adobe folk drop in here. Back before, and immediately after, the changeover, they seemed to be here often. Now - well, less so, or as most of us can tell.
I would only hope that the MOD's, who do show up here, and not just the ones who work this forum, do speak with Adobe. With the issues in the new forum, I would assume that communication is going both ways and at a good rate - say it's so Red Rider.
Now, will any of us live to see a worthwhile change will remain to be seen. Changes have taken place, but it seems they are little and slow to come. Still, who knows what is in the works?
Not being a programer, my issues with Jive are with the implementations that I see. I have no idea of the code behind it. I leave that to much more capable people. All I care about is the experience that I get from the Adobe fora. Right now, it is not that good, but then I am flexible, and have a few good years left. I'll wait, and hope that the changes come, and are significant.
Keep the faith, and if necessary, I'll translate for others, following along at home for you...

Query about the forum date

When I browse this forum as a guest, today's date appears as "Mar 2" (and that was yesterday). When I log in, however, the date is given as (the correct) March 3.
What's up with that?

When you're browsing as a guest, click on Guest Settings and change the time zone. This information is stored as a browser cookie and not on the server; therefore, it will need to be repeated for each cookie database instance you use. The settings of an account holder are stored on the server.

Getting Bored coming to the forum

Just want to express my mind about how I feel about the forum. I have noticed the following trends:
Daily request of the same features over and over
No hint as to when the next Muse release will happen
Christmas is just by the corner and no sign of browser-filled update on widget composition and rectangle height, table etc
Just not happy
Thats all.Any other person feeling the same way.

Oh I TOTALLY agree with morgan on this one. The entitlement of some people now a days is bordering crazy. Forums can be a great free place to find an anwser if you want to spend the time to look but it seems people think a forum is a class room and they expect detailed tutorials. Tutorials on their crazy one off design ideas for that matter or something as basic as adding an image. Since when did learning something on your own or with the tutorials provided and then building on what you have learned become taboo? Now it's ask, demand, complain, give up. How do you think any of the people that help you figured it out?
The worst thing is giving them help or a work around then they attack you because it was not as easy or what they were expecting. They see 'easy to use, no code' in the tagline and think it means 'will do everything for you just press a big red button'. I understand some things do break and bugs are found but that is the price you pay to have something do all of the hard work for you. If you knew the code you wouldn't have that problem. It is the most basic in common sense answers pretty much.
This sort of thing does not happen in other trades for example, you can buy all of the tools to build a car but the tools will not do it for you, so do you call the tool company and complain that you are having trouble building the car? Then get somone to talk you through it until it's all put together? Sounds crazy right.
PS. They don't give release dates because if something goes wrong and they delay it people loss their minds and then the forum becomes an even sadder place for rational people. I too am not worried about the release dates on builds.

The forums have been having problems for about the last week or two with 'Internal
Server Error' issues, but this is the first I've heard of threads not appearing after being created.
The quickest way to reach the forums team will be to send in an email to fissues (at) microsoft [dot] com. Make sure you include a link to that thread and hopefully they can get the forum back into sync.

While it is possible you have a faulty unit I'd agree that the menu system took a step backwards with the itunes store centric take 2.0+ software. I think I'm in the minority here though. Apart from the 2.0+ top level interface being butt ugly and confusing to navigate, it simply isn't as responsive as 1.0/1.1 and I think most of this is to do with displaying a combined sync/stream menu. if you sync stuff try setting 'show only synced items' in the AppleTv device tabs in iTunes and see if it makes the issue go away - easy to revert back.
Huge libraries (number of files not actual size of the files) can also be problematic given AppleTV's modest hardware specs but that's more exception than the rule.
With streaming/syncing combined I also think any network deficiencies show up more than they used to.

Something Fishy about log ins here on the forums

I can login and navigate to the Android Forums
if I click on Sign out I get a sign in icon
If I click on sign in, it takes me to a different Login screen
The login fails using my original login name and the UID that comes up for the forums.
I think the initial Login takes me into My Verizon where I can pay my bill or navigate to the forums
The failing login appears to take me into community.vzw.com
Are there two different login UIDs and PWs from which I can get into the Forums?

Mine is the opposite.
If I browse to VZW.com I see a login prompt where my UID is remembered and I can Log in and then navigate via a dropdown to the Forums where I am recognized with a different Screen Name which allows me to post in the Forums.

2. My Android Mobile devides can log in at VZW.com but can not navigate to the forums with the login intact. The Dropdown Menu does not appear on the Mobile devices so I have to scroll down to a Link to the Forums that takes me in as a guest.

Are there two bugs in the forums?

1. The forums only seem to list who opened the original question, not who last posted. To keep track of my own replies, I need to see who last posted. How to do this? (It used to be there before they redesigned).
2. Similarly, how do I get to see only UNREAD posts, not have to start again from the top?

There is a missing column. Was four columns ( ??? ) now only three. They reduced the lettering size to get more information on the line. I guess you could say they are listening, but can get over that they are wrong about the layout.

Here is my ASC work flow...
1) I login.
2) Block the automatic 30 minute logout.
     Unless you do something every thirty minutes you get logged out. The forum software waits to tell you this as long as it can to keep you in suspense ;-) . Filling out a reply is the exception to the thirty minute window.

You need to pick a page that will reload over time without stalling out. It's ASC. I've found my profile display the best to use. I get my Profile page after some logins. It's ASC. Change rccharles to your apple id.

Reply technique
Open a new browser window. Pick some discussion. Open a reply window. As long as this reply window is open, you will stay logged in. The 30 minute times is reset as needed by the ASC software.
3) I open another window to do my normal ASC browsing.
4) I have a FireFox bookmark to goto the discussions that I have participated in. I've modified it to add on the content stuff.

7) Read and answer my old posts. I kind of memorize the time I last posted. ( It's way bad that apple eliminated the last poster to a thread. )
8) I use tabbed browsering. From a list of discussions, hold down the command key then click on the link. You get two tabs this way. The original window will keep where you have been.
