About to buy ipad2, Verizon aircard is already built in to my notebook - can I share that Verizon data plan with my new Verizon iPad2?

I am about to buy an ipad2.  I already have a Verizon aircard built in to my SONY notebook - can I share that same existing Verizon data plan with my new Verizon iPad2?  I would rather not to have to buy a second data plan.
Thanks for your input

No.
If your notebook can be set up as an adhoc WiFi network or HotSpot you could use that instead of activating the plan on the iPad 2.

  • Ipad wireless data package with pre-existing Verizon data plan

    Hello,
I have a question about the wireless plan for the ipad. If I purchase an ipad with verizon wireless carrier does that mean I have to create a
new verizon wireless account specific for the new ipad? Or can I somehow merge it with my pre-existing verizon wireless plan?
I have a data package plan of 4G for my phone and I was wondering whether I could share that available data usage with ipad.
I appreciate all your comments, thank you.

No, you can't share the data plan with your phone. Yes, you can have your iPad on the same account. It will have its own data plan but appear on the same bill.

  • Can I use my existing verizon phone data plan with my iPad 2?

I have a data plan with my verizon smart phone.  I want to buy an iPad 2 with 3G capabilities but I would hate have 2 bills for 3G service.  Can I use my existing phone data plan with my iPad or do I have to set up a seperate data plan for my iPad?

Your best answer will come from Verizon' customer service.

Can I use an iMac Bluetooth Keyboard with an iPad1 or iPad2?
Do I need a keyboard that state's it is for ipad?  Or can I use the Apple iMac Bluetooth keyboard for my ipad?
I don't see anywhere on the Apple iMac keybaord box that states it is compatible.
I find the 3rd party ipad keyboards to be flimsy in construction.

I don't want to spend the money on the HDMI connector and HDMI splitter if it won't work.

if I buy a 16GB iPad and I want to extend the GB, can you do that?

No, the internal capacity is fixed. There are some wifi-enabled external drives that allow you to stream music, films etc to an iPad, but you can't change the size of the built-in storage.

  • Why won't verizon sell me an international data plan for my new iPad?

Why won't verizon sell me an international data plan for my new iPad?

Thanks for your response Meg. Verizon is definitely not customer friendly.  I do have the monthly prepaid domestic data service that I subscribed to from my iPad when I bought it a few months ago.  They didn't advise me of any other available plans at the time.  You are correct that they are now saying that in order to get an international plan I need to cancel my current monthly plan through one Verizon department (and abandon any remaining data mb) and then subscribe to a contract plan (handled by a different verizon department).  But here's the catch: in order to get international service I need to be a contract customer for six months (which doesn't help me as I am going to Europe next week).  Of course, if I had bought an ATT iPad I wouldn't be shut out like this since their monthly international plans are readily available through the iPad at any time.  I feel that Apple and Verizon should not have touted the new Verizon iPad as comparable to ATT's internationally (which they did) without fully disclosing the hoops one has to jump through.

  • IPad2 3G Data Plan with Verizon

I'm really looking forward to purchasing the new iPad 2 when it's released on the 11th. I was leaning toward the WiFi + 3G version with Verizon as the carrier because Verizon has a larger footprint in the U.S. and I'm already a Verizon customer.
However, I spoke with a customer service rep at Verizon a couple of days ago who suggested that Verizon would be charging an initial $35 activation fee. She also said that if you canceled the data plan and decided to re-active 3G service at a later time, there would be an additional $35 for reactivating the service if the service had been turned off for 6 months or longer.
I had only planned on using the 3G service when I travel and in those rare instances when I'm not near a Wifi hotspot - neither of which happens very often. I want the flexibility of being able to purchase a month of 3G service when needed without a contract, but a $35 activation/reactivation fee is a a deal-killer for me. I'm really hoping that the Verizon rep was misinformed and that what she told me was incorrect.
Can anyone confirm that Verizon is really going to charge a $35 activation/reactivation fee with their iPad 2 data plans? Does AT&T charge a similar fee?

have the same concerns about activation / reactivation fees.. went to AT&T store and the Verizon store..also spoke to reps on phone...as best I can find out is that AT&T WILL NOT charge activation or reactivation fees whereas Verizon WILL charge these fees....only specific I could not get from any Verizon rep was how long the 3G service would have to be off before they charged another reactivation fee
find it hard to believe that Verizon is actually doing this considering the imense competition for the Ipad2 between these carriers...
looks like AT & T even though I currently have 3 phones with Verizon...

  • Data plan tiers confirmed by Verizon.

Thanks for sharing this, but I agree a very quiet update, someone told me Verizon warned us, but I didn't hear about it until today when a coworker mentioned getting an iPhone last night and was told last night by the Verizon people it was ending today...I would have upgraded already had I known..I can understand new users coming on board having to pay the new tiered prices,

  • Is the Note 3 compatible with the new Verizon XLTE network coming?

I read that Verizon will be unveiling their new XLTE network on May 19th?  The new service is supposed to provide better service in 50 new markets.
Will the Note 3 work on the new network?
What are the 50 new markets?

I've already noticed an increase in speeds and confirmed it using speedtest as shown above. I originally thought it was the recent KitKat update that brought the increased speeds until I saw this thread. The speeds averaged between 20-40 Mbps when I first got the Note 3 back in early April and now the speeds are about 50-75 Mbps on average. Is it possible that Verizon has already rolled out XLTE or could I see internet speeds go even higher when they do roll out XLTE?

  • My hard drive has about a 70GB difference between it's "size" and "used" properties. I can't find that 70GB anywhere.

My Hard Drive has about 32GB of "Used" space, which matches the amount in the subfolders, but its Size in Finder is at 101GB, and I can't copy larger items to the drive.  Any ideas?

  • If a student doesn't want to give or have a social security number, how does he/she go about getting the installment plan with the new MacBook Pro? Can he/she still get the student discount if a co-signer who is not a student puts down his/her information

Anyone know how to go about this?

Payment plans are contracts.  Contracts require personal information.  The only way for your SSN (most people have one assigned by parents before age 1) to NOT appear on the contract is if your name does not appear on the contract and you have no legal responsibility.
