  • MS Access 2003 and Data Services 3.0

    I want to access MS Access 2003 from Aqualogic Data Services 3.0. The documentation tells me that Aqualogic Data Services 3.0 supports MS Access 2003
    I read the "Extending Database Support" from the Administration Guide to deploy the xml file ... I did it successful!
    But I can't configure the data source in the console to point to Access2003. How can I do it?

    Thank you Mike for the answer.
    The aqualogic Data Services release 3 support MS Access 2003, as you can verify in "Relational Providers Included With ALDSP" in this manual:
    http://edocs.bea.com/aldsp/docs30/admin/aldsp-wrapper-ext.html#wp1134932
    In the http://localhost:7001/console, when I go to the "Create a New JDBC Data Source", only those DB appears in the Database Type: "adabas for z/OS, CICS/TS for z/OS, Cache, Cloudscape, DB2, DB2 for z/OS, Derby, Enterprise DB, FirstSQL, IMS/DB for z/OS, IMS/TM for z/OS, Informix, Ingres, MS SQL Server, MaxDB, MySQL, Oracle, PointBase, PostgreSQL, Progress, Sybase, VSAM for z/OS , Other".
    But the "MS Access 2003" didn't appears in this menu. The MS-Access.jar file was copied into ALDSP\provider path, and another items was created succesfully as shown in the "Deploying the rational provider" in http://edocs.bea.com/aldsp/docs30/admin/aldsp-wrapper-ext.html#wp1136406
    I wants to create the datasource for MSAccess 2003. How can I do it?

  • Read a basedata from access 2003

    hi guys i need a little help for reading a database from access 2003 in labview 2014

  • OLE object error when using with Access 2003 and Adobe Reader X

    I link to .pdf files in Access 2003 and since upgrading to Adobe Reader X yesterday, am unable to link to these files.  I receive an error stating "A problem occurred while accessing the OLE object". It goes on to tell me to verify that the file is where I say it is and that it is accessible, which it is.   I can go to that file in Adobe Reader and open it.

    Disable the protection mode in the preferences of Adobe Reader.

  • Access 2003 Embedded OLE Object + Acrobat Reader 9.2 error on close?

    This seems to be a known problem without a known solution.
    We have a SQL database backend and an Access 2003 frontend. The Access client displays scanned PDF documents via an embedded OLE Object field.
    Up until recently, we had been using Acrobat Reader 6.0 as the default viewer, but we switched up to 9.2 so that our staff could read external PDFs with security/encryption,etc. When an embedded PDF is viewed now through the Access client, an error is thrown when Acrobat Reader is closed, indicating that an OLE server was not registered, or needed to be re-installed. This did not happen with the Acrobat 6.0 client.
    Is there any automatic behind-the-scenes file updates being performed when Acrobat Reader 9.2 shuts down? It seems like some information is trying to be written (maybe a timestamp?) and is kicking back an error when it can't update the target file.
    Is there a workaround for this? I need the ability to read secured PDFs, but I also don't want my users having to needlessly deal with persistent error messages.

    Disable the protection mode in the preferences of Adobe Reader.

  • Connecting Access 2003 forms to oracle

    Hi,
    i have a task to migrated Access 2003 tables with data to Oracle DB. Access database is on the file serwer (Windows) where all users have access to it :),
    Oracle datebase is on the Linux. I want to migrate date from Access to Oracle and then connet forms from Access to Oracle schema. Access forms must give the possibility to read and write data in Oracle. Any ideas how I might do this?

    The first step is to use the SQL Developer Migration Workbench to migrate the tables and the data from MS Access to Oracle.
    The second step is to create a linked table in your Access database for each of your migrated table. That is explained in details in the following thread:
    Access 97 to Oracle conversion
    I hope that helps.

  • Upgrade path from Access 2003/SQL 2003 ADP to cloud, Azure, etc.

    My company uses a massive client database to track all interactions with our clients -- phone log, billing info, authorized users, associates, products and services they subscribe to, etc. -- as well as separate records for leads and clients. There are
    over 25,000 clients and leads in the database and each client or lead has at least 30 selectable options plus numerous phone/interaction log entries.
    The database is in MS-SQL 2003 Server with an Access 2003 ADP front-end running on Windows Server 2003, accessible from over 30 user accounts on the WS2003 box and accessed either over RDP or in-house XP clients.
    Therein lies my problem. I did not build this monster, but am now the servers admin for this company and so it has become "my problem". Windows XP and Office 2003 are already past EOL and Windows Server 2003 will be EOL in July 2015.  However,
    Access 2013 does not support the ADP file format and so I cannot open the ADP on a newer computer.
    Rewriting the database and its records -- estimating there are over 50,000,000 records in this database -- is prohibitive. My employer would rather use the WS2003 servers to perpetuity than rewrite this beast. However, knowing what I do about the security risks
    and the confidential client data stored in it, I am arguing that we must eliminate all of our XP/2003 servers ASAP or we will be the next Target or Home Depot.
    What options do we have? Cost is a factor but not a deal-breaker since we have to do something.
    Ideally, I would like to be able to migrate the MS-SQL 2003 back end to Azure SQL; then hire a programmer to rewrite the .ADP Access 2003 file into either a .NET application or a MS Access 2013 front end.  However, we cannot afford much downtime for this
    -- as our 30+ staff are routinely and simultaneously entering and transcribing phone calls throughout the work day -- and whatever we do still needs to be able to be simultaneously accessed by multiple staff members.
    I should add that I am not going to be programming this myself; I am the department head and supervisor of this project, but will be putting together the job description and work order for the developer we hire or contract with to do this job. So what I need
    from the community is a recommendation on how we should go about this:  Which services, which software, and how should we implement it?
    Thank you in advance.

    It seems to me that the most critical component is the ADP file. Some later version of Access must be able to open it. Or?
    Then again, this is not an Access forum.
    From the database-side of things, it is not inconceivable that the database could survive the ordeal even if you replace the Access client with a .Net client. Of course, if you are on SQL 2000 (as Kalman says, there is no SQL 2003), their is a fair chance
    that you are using some deprecated features that have been removed. Still, that would not be a showstopper.
    As for downtime, there is no reason to have any downtime while the new application is being developed, but you may need some downtime when you do the migration itself. Typically, that would be on a weekend. And of course, it needs planning. If a downtime
    during a weekend is not acceptable, migration could be done incrementally, but it would take more time to develop and test.
    I think your first step is to bring in a contractor with experience of application development, both client-side and database-side who can study the case more carefully and from this make recommendations. Obviously, that would be a senior consultant.

  • How do I view Migrate Data errors - Access 2003 - Oracle 10g

    I'm trying to use the SQL Developer to migrate data from an Access 2003 database to an Oracle 10g database. I followed the instructions found here:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/migration/workbench/files/omwb_getstarted.html
    I was able to complete every step except the actual data move. I exported the xml for the Access database, I captured the export and then ran the generation scripts on my target Oracle database (I'm using the same schema for the migration repository and the actual data). It created the tables with only one or two errors which I resolved.
    Now, when I select Migration->Migrate Data, I get the dialog that appears to start 4 or 5 threads and attempts to migrate each table. They all error and do not transfer any rows. I can see that there's one error per table, but I can't see the error text. I just know that an error occurred. Is there a log somewhere or is the error displayed somewhere else? How do I know what's gone wrong?
    Thanks.

    I too receive unexplained error counts using the Migrate Data menu selection and unexplained failures using the Generate Data Move Scripts menu selection. Permissions granted by role or direct grants should not be a problem, but a Migrate Data error appears in the Migration Log panel at the bottom of the SQL Developer window, "Failed to disable constraints: ORA-00942 ... ". No further details available on what constraints or why the error. No other errors were detected while following the instructions found in the Oracle SQL Developer Migration Workbench Getting Started guide. SQL Developer never migrates the data from the existing Access 2000 mdb file to the newly created schema objects in Oracle 10g using either method. The following roles and privileges have been granted to both the repository owner and the target schema owner:
    GRANT RESOURCE TO MIGRATE_USER WITH ADMIN OPTION;
    GRANT CONNECT TO MIGRATE_USER WITH ADMIN OPTION;
    ALTER USER MIGRATE_USER DEFAULT ROLE ALL;
    -- 25 System Privileges for MIGRATE_USER

    GRANT CREATE USER TO MIGRATE_USER WITH ADMIN OPTION;
    -- 1 Tablespace Quota for MIGRATE_USER
    ALTER USER MIGRATE_USER QUOTA UNLIMITED ON USERS;
    Operating system for both Access 2000 and Oracle 10g is Windows XP PRO SP2.
    Oracle SQL Developer is version 1.1.2.25 build MAIN-25.79 on Windows XP PRO SP2. All three are on the same PC.
    Since only the last step failed, I created a User DSN with the ODBC administrator. Then, linked the newly created Oracle table to Access via ODBC using the DSN created. Next, I created an append query with the source being the Access table and the target being the Oracle table. I moved the data by pressing the red exclamation mark.

  • I2C Write/Read Error

    Error -301742 occurred at NI-845x I2C Write Read.vi
    "Possible reason(s):NI-845x:  The slave did not acknowledge an address+direction byte transmitted by the I2C master. Reasons include the incorrect address set in the I2C configuration or the incorrect use of the 7-bit address. When entering an address to access a 7-bit device, do not include the direction bit. The NI-845x Basic I2C API internally sets the direction bit to the correct value, depending on the function (write or read). If your datasheet specfies the 7-bit device address as a byte, discard the direction bit (bit 0) and right-shift the byte value by one to create the 7-bit address."
    We have connected the pull up resistors on the SDA and SCL line.
    The error seems to be strange in our case,
    We have two setup
    1. Using a push button to power the device and wires through the pull up resistor.
    2. We are trying to communicate using a NI 2569 for the SDA and SLC and the Power supply to the device.
    We do not observe the error in case 1,however, in case 2 we do observe,attached are the waveform pics for the same.
    Noted that we have the clock signal rise delay in case 2, is this because of the relay 2569?
    Any help will be highly appreciated.

    I don't quite understand your setup, and I'm not sure what I'm looking at with the figures you posted. What does the 2569 have to do with the 8451? You also said
    1. Using a push button to power the device and wires through the pull up resistor.
    I have no idea what this means.
    It's hard to tell from the pictures, but for the Case 1 figure, it appears that you are generating a correct start condition. It's also indicating that are sending a read transaction. You didn't indicate what device you're talking to, so we can't say for sure if this is correct.
    In the second case it also appears that you generating a correct start condition. The slow rise times that you are seeing in the clock is probably due to extra capacitance on the bus, or weak pullups, or both. This transaction appears to be a write transaction, but with no data.
    At this point, without knowing what device you're talking to, a better explanation of your setup, and the code itself, I'm not sure how much help we can be.

    Ask the target-folder admins to provide full access to a user and then use this user in your channel.....user should have 777 access.... in UNIX it is done through chmod 777 ..... for exact notation/ format just make a search on google (the folder-admins would be knowing the format)

    I had this similar problem - 32-bit SQL Server 2005 trying to import tables from Access 2000 .mdb file, same error:

    I know you said you clicked "Advanced..." and Test Connection when you chose your Access database - but that is what resolved the error for me.  I chose my .mdb file, username is admin, password is blank, but if I don't click the Advanced button and test the connection before continuing on, the import fails with above error message.  Go figure, since the username/blank password is correct.
    FWIW, sorry if that doesn't help you though.

  • Migration: Access 2003 to Oracle SQL

    Dear All
    I would like to perform a migration from Access 2003, to Oracle 10g. I am using SQL Developer for the task, and have reached the point of capturing the XML file that I exported from Access. I need to create a migration repository on the target database, and this is causing problems as I do not have all the necessary privileges.
    In the process, I have been advised that migrations from Access to Oracle are not easy to achieve, and in fact require careful planning before execution. My objective is not really to transfer the data stored within the database file. I only really want to convert Access logic into Oracle SQL code. I was wondering if anyone could advise on the typical odds of success in achieving this task.
    I migrated the same Access database to MS SQL Server some time ago and the process seemed to go smoothly. Would it be reasonable then to migrate from MS SQL to Oracle SQL if this is easier?
    Any feedback would be very much appreciated.
    Thank you.
    M

    Thanks for your response.
    I am not familiar with the intricacies of the process, I'm just following the instructions set out in the Oracle Migrating 3rd Party Databases white paper.
    In this document, a process is set out consisting of steps that export an Access database, and then capture it to an Oracle user area with appropriate privileges. The process is achieved through Oracle SQL Developer.
    I'd be very grateful if you could expand on your answer if there is a better way of translating Access queries into Oracle SQL. I am aware that an Access front-end is capable of connecting with an Oracle database to execute queries, however, there are considerable limitations in the use of Access that I would like to avoid - hence the migration.

  • Access 2003: sql statement question

    Dear all,
    i'm trying to get the following code to work without success:
    String com = "SELECT Instrument.Index FROM Instrument WHERE Instrument.NextCalDate < #5/24/2007#";
    s.execute(com);
    I get the following error: Error: java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'Instrument.NextCalDate < #5/24/2007#'.
    It is because of the <. If i change the < by an = it works fine. The annoying thing is that i've been browsing the forum and some date related questions regarding java/access were explained by giving example code that had the exact same syntax as the code i'm using, so with the use of the < character without using escape characters or whatever. These postings however date from 2004 or something, so what has changed?
    I'm using latest JDK, Access 2003 and am connecting via ODBC running on an XP Pro machine.
    Help is very much appreciated. Thanks from The Netherlands

    I suspect one thing that changed was that those other examples were using a previous version of MS Access.
    Other than that I can only suggest that you use a prepared statement rather than attempting to the MS Access specific syntax.

  • Having a problem using an Access 2003 database on a Windows 2012 Server

    We have an old application developed in Visual Basic 6.0 with an Access 2003 database.  We have recently migrated the application from a D-link data server to a new Windows Server 2012.  At first everything seemed OK, but then the application
    began running erratically slower, till after about two weeks it was unusable.  I have found various "fixes" for the problem which seem to have worked for some people and not for others.  We temporarily resolved the problem by rebooting
    the server but do not anticipate that will be a permanent solution.
    The one fix that would apparently work, to update the database to at least Access 2007, is not available to us as we would then have to rewrite our application and we cannot afford to do that.
    What I am considering doing now is moving the database to a different platform while leaving the application on the network server (Server 2012).
    In the course of researching the server problem, I encountered some suggestions that Windows 8 is incompatible with Access 2003.  We have one Windows 8 desktop, one XP and the rest are Windows 7.
    I would be interested in people's opinions as to whether moving the database might solve the problem and also whether the Windows 8 machine might be contributing to the problem.
