Access Connections Windows 7 Not detecting port

hey everyone, been having this issue where a windows 7 machine does not detect a local lan port when docked in thus not switching off wireless and onto the LAN. I've been running all of the other XP machines and it appears that they detect and ask which location they are. All of the machines don't have gateways on them. is there a way to get the windows 7 machines to detect and switch over without using a gateway?
Thanks

Hi, yesterday i talked to HP customer support executive and he provide me following link : http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_147188_1&swEnvOid=4063# After installing the driver the issue was same but at night when i was surfing internet using LAN cable all of sudden i saw "Device Driver Installation" notification at right down corner of my laptop. I was using LAN cable since my Wifi was creating problems. After that i opened device manager and i was shocked because all network driver including bluetooth, wifi are there in network adapter tab. I reboot my laptop more then 10 times and i observed wifi is working fine. I am not getting why my laptop behaving so random.

  • Surface Pro 3 / "Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter"

    Hi all,
I've been running the Windows 10 Technical Preview (9926) on my Surface Pro 3 successfully
since January. Unfortunately, I lost all internet connectivity today.
The problem started when I noticed the type cover wasn't working (pressing keys on the type
cover wasn't registering any typing on my screen) and my USB mouse wasn't working either. I tried removing and reattaching the type keyboard but this didn't fix the issue. I had to use the accessibility on-screen keyboard to sign into Windows (thankfully touch
was still working). Once I signed in, I still didn't have typing or cursor ability, so I decided to restart the computer.
Then it got worse. I noticed the Surface Pro 3 was stuck on "restarting" and wouldn't
actually restart. Since it wasn't responding, I held down the power button for about 10 seconds until it turned off. When I turned it back on, the type cover and mouse started working again.
Unfortunately, this is when the WIFI problems began. I had WIFI for a few seconds, and then
I lost internet. I disconnected/reconnected but there was a yellow triangle telling me there was some sort of problem. So I restarted the Surface Pro 3.
When it came back on, there were suddenly NO connections available at all. Opening the "Network
& Internet" settings page gave me the message "Windows did not detect a properly installed network adapter". And here I am, without internet on my Surface Pro 3, borrowing my friend's computer so I can type this message (he is also running
Windows 10 build 9926 on his laptop and is able to connect to my WIFI with no problems, whereas my Surface Pro 3 cannot even detect any networks). I have not dropped or damaged the SP3 in any way, and there have been no storms or power outages or anything
of that sort. Any ideas what could have happened to the WIFI on my Surface Pro 3?
    Thanks for your help...
    Ethan

    Hi Ethan,
Currently, there are a few compatibility issue between the current hardware and Windows 10 Technical Preview (9926 build), this is mostly related to driver compatibility issue.
I suggest you download the latest network adapter driver package to install, when it is finished, check if it appears under Device Manager.
Surface Pro 3, Surface Pro 2, and Surface Pro firmware and driver packs

You can check if you can install the latest firmware package for your device.

  • Windows did not detect any networking hardware, Windows 7, New Hard Drive

Message "Windows did not detect any networking hardware"
    Satellite P505 S8980 Windows 7 Home Premium.
I replaced the Toshiba 500 GB HD with 500 GB Seagate.
Device Manager icon for any device with yellow exclamation mark,
Click on "Update Driver".  Lan eNet details as follows:
    Antheo - R8132 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20)
Browse to the folder where the setup program has the driver...
Message: "The best driver software is already installed."
(But the yellow exclamation mark still harasses me.)
--- Go to "Setup new connection" ---
    "Choose a connection option"
Click on "Connect to the Internet"
Response: "Windows did not detect networking hardware"
As near as I can tell, that translates from error 0x8E5E0247
I have this same error on other yellow exclamation marks respective of what kind of device it is.
=> To test my sanity, I put the old hard drive (same size) back in and except for the impact of slowness due to error retries, everything works okay.
    Note:
Same issue (hardware not detected) for Video adapter and Audio.
I bought new USB Wireless adapter to test, and the driver installed but not activated because "not digitally signed", and that same issue fits all the above hardware.  I down loaded them from Toshiba, and they are confirmed installed, but not accepted with digitally signed.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled with same results.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I'm discovering I am not as well as I thought... running on the  AF hard drive which was built with a copy drive from old format drive which was the product of system recovery disc set.
Review for context: Advanced Function HDD
Scenario that exposes harm caused by cloning data from 4K blocks drive to 512 bytes blocked drive (AF)
Toshiba supplied Windows-7 System Restore Discs: to factory state
Then I built the Windows-7 Repair  Disc... used later.
Hard drive was replaced when it caused SMART warning at every system boot.
Acronis was only utility that quickly detected problem (3 sectors had permanent read errors.) Active@Disk Image and Power Quest Drive Image (Ghost) did not detect the issue.
I tried Seagate 500 GB and Western digital 500 GB HDD drives as copy target.
That new drive would not boot: "Required source not found"
Booted My newly created Windows-7 repair disc, and used to to fix startup.
    See images.
That worked and then the ST9500423AS disc booted.
Now... next day I discovered Window Update is not working.
    I get message:
Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You need to restart your computer.
I ran Microsoft Fixit for updates.  It says it fixed two items.
    I still have the problem.
    The service shows "started"
Control Panel/ ACTION Center/ Maintenance/ Check for Updates
     "No action needed"
"Windows Update does not require any action"
    I checked  Update History...
... It is empty, else window is vacant... blank.
Soooo..... for a sanity check, I swap out hard drive; go back to the old format (which is the one I copied).
It works!  7 updates to install, including SP1... but I did NOT install them.
Switch back to the AF drive... Update doesn't work. I am broke again.
Is this another strange problem caused by the Advance Format issue?
    What to do?
By the way... I did install an Intel storage Matrix driver  update, but I do not have RAID chip, so that driver is not for me... unless I missed out on something.

  • Thinkpad Edge S430 - Windows does not detect external display connected via HDMI

On a Thinkpad S430 with HD4000 integrated graphics, an external display connected via a HDMI cable is not detected at all when using Windows. The system is fully updated as of the time of posting this message, both via the Lenovo Update tool as well as Windows update.
The Intel driver version is 8.15.10.2696. It appears that this is the latest version, since it does not offer an update when I try to auto-update it via Device Manager.
NB: I am running Ubuntu 12.04 with kernel 3.4.0 on the same machine, and the external display works perfectly fine with this software configuration.
Hence I think that it's very likely that this is a Windows-specific driver issue.
Would Lenovo happen to have a driver update in the works? Alternatively, I will be thankful for any suggestions about possible resolution of this problem.

I am running Windows 7 on a Thinkpad T410.  I have an HP LP3065 monitor connected to it using an Accell DisplayPort to DVI Dual-Link adapter.  Windows 7 does not detect the monitor.  The NVIDIA drivers are up to date and I have tried powering the Accell adaptor with multiple USB ports.  I do not know if there is a problem with the adaptor or if Windows 7 is just unable to see the monitor with this combination.

  • Access connections does not see wireless networks but can connect if you know the SSID

Running a Thinkpad x200 using windows 7 and Access Connections 5.42.
A few weeks ago i was traveling and was connecting to a hotel wireless network.
Could receive email but wasn't able to send email due to hotel port restrictions so long-story short version-- IT staff at hotel told me to connect via LAN. Which i did by simply plugging in LAN line to the thinkpad and to the hotel -- port -- no other changes. have done this a million times at home and elsewhere.
    All is well....
    until....
I get home and i notice that when i use access connections, it doesn't see any wireless connections (no icons in the radar screen). It automatically connects to my home network and i can use the home profile to connect.  Same for any connection that i know the SSID for -- i can't see it but i can connect to it.
But it doesn't show any icons during "find" or find again. It only shows the home icon i am connected to. If i disconnect and try to find wireless networks. It doesn't show any.
    So i know
    1) radio is working
    2) can connect via lan
    3) can connect to a known wireless if i know the SSID and either manually configure it or if i have the profile saved
    4) i have run antivirus, malwarebytes - etc -- all clean
    5) have rebooted, turned radio on off
    6) system restore doesn't help
    7)  all wireless networks are now invisible to radar screen. Have tried this at starbucks, around town - etc -- available wireless network icons are invisible
I'm not sure that hooking up LAN in the hotel did anything but it seems too coincidental. Also seem to recall a thread where this has been known to happen.
    Help!!!

First off, it sees the networks. That's good. You reset network settings which usually corrects a number of problems. Let's focus on your home network and getting connected to that.
    1. Reboot your router (just power it off for 10 secs). Try to connect. If it works, you are done. If not, step 2
    2. Reset your network settings again. However, this time log onto your network by tapping Settings > WiFi > Other and re-entering your network name, security settings, and password.
Check your connection by tapping the blue > next to the network name with the checkmark. If your IP starts with 169.x, then you are connected but your router is not issuing you an IP address. This leads to a couple of additional problem areas - WEP encryption and outdated router firmware.
If you continue to have problems, tell us which router/model, security settings used, etc.

  • IPod classic connects but is not detected in Diagnostic as "No iPod, iPhone, or iPad found" will not sync no matter what I try. have reinstalled itunes, changed cords, restarted services. Just started happening very recently. diagnostics detection is key.

I have a 120gb Classic that has been working, connecting and syncing flawlessly for years. Now it appears that (maybe since an itunes update) my same Windows 7 x64 computer that has not changed other than the occasional iTunes update will not detect my iPod, and therefore will not sync any more.
The odd thing is that iTunes will sometimes see the iPod (not always), and Windows will also sometime see the iPod. Even when it does, and I click to sync a podcast (or anything else) it appears to go through the #1 and #2 steps and says it is syncing - Do not unplug, then appears to finish, but when you check the ipod after ejecting, nothing has changed. It looks like this has been happening for about a week, but my wife must not have realized that songs and other items were not actually syncing.
I have tried uninstalling iTunes, downloading the 11.2... version available online now, no help. I have tried resetting the ipod, no help. I have tried changing cables, no help. every time I go through the diagnostics in iTunes, it fails the connectivity test and says "No iPod, IPhone, or iPad found.
I am so frustrated. I have tried everything I can think of but even though iTunes shows the iPod, it wont sync....

This issue has been resolved - my Support Advisor, Edgar, was able to discern what was causing the problem.
It appears that, despite years of never experiencing this, one of the latest ipod updates actually altered my device's personal settings and changed it to "Manual" for all synchronizing; even performcing Factory Restores did not change it back to being automatic.
My ipod is working as good as ever now thanks to Edgar. If anyone else is having this problem, please make sure you check your device's settings in iTunes and see if "Manual" is checked - even if you never changed the settings yourself and have no reason to suspect that to be the problem, as was the case here. If it is checked - uncheck it to enable automatic syncing.
So relieved this was not a much more serious problem. I've missed having my music on the go. Thanks, Edgar!

  • Access connections Windows 8

Ever since I upgraded my Thinkpad W520-4270 CTO to Windows 8 I`ve been having a lot of issues with my wireless network adapter. When upgrading, I was asked to uninstall "Access connections". I keep getting notifications from the Windows Action center to contact Lenovo support to resolve an issue related to Access connections software.
Here`s some information on the issue:
    1) Whenever I restart my computer I cannot connect to my wireless network. It says "Connecting" and after a few minutes changes to "This is taking longer than expected". Also, the "Disconnect" button doesnt work.
    2) I can fix this issue by going to "C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WLANINT" and repairing the driver installation. However, sometimes it takes a couple tries to get it working.
    3) At random times, the internet disconnects and I have to repeat this process.
I still have warranty for my Windows8 software so if this problem could be solved at their end, please let me know what I should ask them specifically.
My 1-year Lenovo warranty has just expired so I would really appreciate any help I could get.

    Hi, AlxD
Has Access Connections been fully removed from your system? I would make sure that it is, just to make sure that is not causing any issues. I would then suggest to update both your BIOS and your wireless drivers have been updated. The latest version of BIOS can be found here and the latest wireless driver can be found here.
    Hope it helps,
    Adam

  • Windows setup not detecting router

So I just got satellite internet from Hughesnet and have the router and my Cisco Linksys E3000 set up all the lights and everything are on but my computer is not detecting the internet when I try and set up a new connection but it has the Wifi at the bottom of my screen showing a full connection with a little exclimation point saying no internet access. Also when I used Cisco connect to try and re set up the router the router details say basically everything is unknown except for the Model Number, Operating system, software version, and computer IP. I have no idea what to do, I've done all the "troubleshooting" through Cisco and checked all my cables. Anyone have any ideas?

For the initial setup, all it requires is a proper physical connectivity between your modem, router and computer.  To setup a new router, it’s always recommended to set the router to factory defaults before you run the CD. Finally run the Cisco connect software that’s bundled with the CD, which handles both your internet setup and wireless setup. For the setup process, you need to perform the following:
           i.    Verify that there is an active Internet connection between the computer and modem
ii.   Setting up the router using Cisco Connect
For more information about installing the M10 router via Cisco Connect. Please refer to the link below.
    http://www6.nohold.net/Cisco2/ukp.aspx?pid=93&login=1&vw=1&app=search&articleid=21464&userrole=Links...
But if in case you did install the CD before uninstall it, reset the router and do the above mentioned procedure...
