Access replicated DB environment via SQL/sqlite/ODBC/JDBC interfaces

I'm wondering whether replicated DB environments can be also accessd via the SQL (sqlite, ODBC and JDBC) interfaces?
How to deal with the DB_ENV->rep...() methods in this case?
Is it actually necessary to share my DB_ENV poiner (which I setup for replication using the rep...() APIs as needed) somehow with the sqlite lib in order that DB operations issued via the sqlite interfaces are replicated too?
Or can the sqlite lib still partitipate in replication even if it uses its own private DB_ENV instance (which is not initialized in a special way for replication with the rep...() APIs)?

In the recently released Berkeley DB 11.2.5.1, we offer a new command line utility called db_replicate. It is run in its own process and adds replication capabilities to an existing Transactional Data Store (TDS) application. The existing TDS application can be an application implemented with the BDB SQL API.
The db_replicate utility's process performs all replication functions. Therefore, you don't need to make the DB_ENV->rep* calls elsewhere in your application or worry about sharing an environment handle. db_replicate will replicate the results of the BDB SQL API operations that your application performs in its own processes. If you are interested in learning more about db_replicate, you can read the new section "Running Replication using the db_replicate Utility" in the Replication chapter of the Reference Guide.
In our prior release 11.2.5.0, we did not yet offer any support for the use of replication with an application using the BDB SQL API.

    I want to write the result of a database query in an internal PLSQL Table. After that i would like work with this internal PLSQL Table

    Important for me is to access the internal Table via SQL because i have to refactor a package wich is working with 46 Database Tables an plain SQL. I
    would like to change these DB Tables into internal PLSQL Tables.
    I have written a short example wich will explain my approach to solving this problem.
    The syntax will be accepted by the Database but my 'dbms_output.put_line' statement at the end is empty or blank.
    What do i wrong ? Would be nice if anyone can help me out.

    As Mike says, keep this person away from your database.
    Customers should not be dictating how to implement technical solutions, they should be providing business and logical requirements.
    PL/SQL arrays/collections use expensive PGA memory, taking up valuable server resources.
    Copying data from the database to PGA memory to try and process it using PL/SQL is bad design.  SQL is designed specifically for data manipulation using database tables, so it's the ideal way to do process data... directly on database tables.

  • Can connect via ODBC but not via SQL Developer?

    Hi, all.
    My setup:
    Windows XP Pro
    JDK 1.6
    SQL Developer 2.1.1.64.45
    I'm attempting to connect to an Oracle DB using OS authentication and trying hand-entry of the host and SID; and also trying my TNS file. When I attempt to connect via SQL Developer, I get the following error:
    "Status : Failure -Test failed: ORA-01017: invalid username/password; logon denied."
    When I attempt this same connection, however, using ODBC and Access, I can get right in and see the tables.
    What can I try in order to get SQL Developer working correctly?
    Thanks,
    IVR Avenger

    I'm not really familiar with connections Using OS authentication, but if OCI+TNS based connections work you could try to activate OCI connections by selecting
    Preferences -> Database -> Advanced -> Use OCI/Thick Driverand then use the TNS connection type when creating your connection.
    It should work well even with the thin driver but i cannot help you in this case because i've never had to use this kind of authentication.

  • Trouble accessing Lotus Notes DB Via ODBC NotesSQL 8 driver.

    Hello,
    I am using Crystal Reports version XI and am trying to access lotus notes database via an ODBC connection. My reports have been running sucessfully but we recently upgraded to Lotus Notes 8.  I was receiving error messages stating that the ODBC driver was not compatible so I upgraded to Lotus Notes 8 SQL driver.  Now I am receiving the following errors.
    Crystal Reports
    Database Connector Error: 'IM005:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLAllocHandle on SQL_HANDLE_DBC failed'
    Crystal Reports
    Logon failed.
    Details: 01000:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] The driver doesn't support the version of ODBC behavior that the application requested (see SQLSetEnvAttr).
    I am now using NotesSQL 8 and Lotus Notes 8, is there something that I need for crystal to recognize them.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Stacy

    Hi Stacy,
    I would appear Lotus changed the way their ODBC driver works from version 6. According to our [platforms |https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e09198a1-911e-2b10-179f-ce8eed51aed0] for CR XI we only support Lotus Notes 6.
    We can't fix this now but you may want to ask Lotus if they know of any work arounds or updates to make it backward compatable.
    You may want to try donwloading CR XI R2 SP4 and use your XI keycode to see if that works.
    Thank you

    I am trying to write a bmp file that is created into labview into an access

  • .csv data import via SQL developer

    I am trying to load an Access 2003 table into an Oracle 10g database via SQL developer. The Access file is located on another system and there is no ODBC connection between it and the SQL server.
    What I have done so far is the following:
    i) Export Access table as comma-delimited text file;
    ii) Open text file and re-saved as .CSV;
    iii) On SQL developer - created a table that matches the column structure in the original Access table, then right-clicked > Import Data > on Data Import Wizard I click Next...
    after this, the wizard hangs on step 1, and does not allow me to move to the second step. It doesn't matter whether or not the SQL *Loader option is checked.
    If anyone could offer some advice on the procedure I have applied above and possible sources of weakness, I'd be grateful to hear your thoughts. I'm relatively new to Oracel SQL and not very experienced with databases in general.
    Thanks

  • MS SQL Server ODBC Connection On Linux

    Hi All,
    I am badly stuck with configuration of MS SQL Server ODBC connection on SUSE Linux 10. I am almost tried everything I got from SAP notes but still getting ODBC Lib Data Direct drivers could not be loaded IES 10901.
    ENV: SAP BO 4.0 SP7, MS SQL SRV 2008
    Here is what I have tried so far:
    1) Modified env.sh under /install_dir/sap_bobj/setup and added the line in bold.
    ":${BOBJEDIR}enterprise_xi40/linux_x64/odbc/lib:${BOBJEDIR}enterprise_xi40/$SOFTWAREPATH32/odbc/lib"
    The line should look like this
    LIBRARYPATH="$LIBDIR:$LIBDIR32:$WCSCOMPONENTDIR:$PLUGINDIST/auth/secEnterprise:${CRPEPATH64}:${CRPEPATH}:${MWHOME}:$PLUGINDIST/desktop/CrystalEnterprise.Report:
    ${BOBJEDIR}enterprise_xi40/$SOFTWAREPATH32/ras:${BOBJEDIR}mysql/lib:${BOBJEDIR}enterprise_xi40/linux_x64/odbc/lib:${BOBJEDIR}enterprise_xi40/$SOFTWAREPATH32/odbc/lib”
    2) We have .odbc.ini file in the home directory of our BO user on linux. Added following DSN entry (Same DSN is created on client and odbc connection has been created on the universe using this DSN:
    boeadm01:~> vi .odbc.ini
    [DSN_NAME]
    Driver=/opt/sapboe/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/linux_x64/odbc/lib/CRsqls24.so
    Description=DataDirect 6.0 SQL Server Native Wire Protocol
    HostName=SQL Server Hostname
    Database=SQL DB Name
    QuotedId=Yes
    AnsiNPW=No
    3) We then added the environment variables and LIBPATH in BO user .profile file.
    boeadm01:~> vi .profile
    #Sql Server Environment
    ODBCINI=$HOME/.odbc.ini
    export ODBCINI
    LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/sapboe/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/linux_x64/odbc/lib
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    4) Did echo to check the LIBPATH
    boeadm01:~> echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH
    /opt/sapboe/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/linux_x64/odbc/lib
    5) Modified sqlsrv.sbo under /install_dir/sap_bobj/enterprise_xi40/dataAccess/connectionServer/odbc
      <Parameter Name="Use DataDirect OEM Driver" Platform="Unix">Yes</Parameter>
    6) Restarted BO node.
    Tried creating a new webi report and got the error mentioned above.
    Please help!!!

  • Selecting xml-messages from ORABPEL-schema via SQL

    Hi,
    i want to select xml documents via SQL from the ORABPEL schema.
    Can anybody help, how to do this?
    There is the table xml_document, which has the columns:
    DOCKEY
    DOMAIN_REF
    BIN_CSIZE
    BIN_USIZE
    BIN
    MODIFY_DATE
    BIN_FORMAT
    Bin is of type blob....

    "Installation Monkey", did you ever find a solution or sample code to access and decipher the Audit_trail.LOG contents through a query or using SQL lob calls?
    I have looked all over, tried decoding the hex code (into a second layer of gibberish), and found nothing other than pointers to the API bpels.
    Thank you for any information.

  • Accessing an ASM Instance via OEM

    Gaining access to an ASM-managed database instance via Enterprise manager is done in the same way as accessing a "normal" RDBMS database: http://<host>:<port>/em/
    Is it also possible to access the ASM instance itself via the OEM? If so, what's the typical URL/port for access?
    I have not seen this documented, and I wonder if it's possible to access the ASM instance via OEM after all, or can you view/manage ASM instance information only via SQL statements.
    Thank you.
    John

    That makes perfect sense... nufortunately, I'm sitll confused. I just found a series of screen shots that explicitly say "Database Control", and the home page shows the "+asm" link I mentioned in my earlier post. What's more: these screen shots are directly from Oracle! Their "Oracle By Example" series has an entry called "Creating and Managing ASM Disk Groups", and the section called "Viewing Disk Groups" has a series of shots that clearly shows first an ASM-managed instance, and then the ASM instance itself, being directly managed by Database Control.
    I wish someone from Oracle, or someone who has seen this in action, would chime in and let us know how it works!
    Thanks.

  • Compiling pl/sql packages via sql

    Hi All,
    Is it possible to compile the pl/sql packages via sql scripts or shell scripts
    The idea is to make the compilation process independent of tools like PL/SQL developer and people.
    Thanks in adv.
    Bh.

    OK. What sort of source control system are you using?
    In general, you would want to check in all your scripts to a version control system and write scripts that automatically check the appropriate version of a script out of source control and apply it to the appropriate environment in the appropriate order at the appropriate time. What is appropriate, obviously, is going to be heavily influenced by your particular environment, needs, build process, build schedule, etc.
    One possibility is to check in a MASTER_BUILD.sql script that is a SQL*Plus script that invokes whatever other scripts are necessary for a particular change, along with all the supporting scripts, into a folder that is at whatever granularity you track changes. Your build process would then just check out everything in this folder and run MASTER_BUILD.

  • Can't get read-only access to my switches via http

    I set up a couple of users for read-only access to our switches via their web browsers. I set this up in Network Assistant. However when we try to log in, only a level 15 user is allowed to log in and there doesn't seem to be any way change this.
    I know in Network Assistant, you can choose which user level you want, but I don't see any way to do it via the web interface.
    What am I missing here?

    Implementing security within a switching environment is less intuitive than in a router. Switches, by design, tend to recognize only two levels of administrative access - user exec mode or privileged exec mode. Implementation of security at different access levels, level 15, etc, can be tricky and should be done at the command prompt, not in the GUI.
    You should reset your config and do not use Network Assistant for this purpose; it is "buggy."

    sqldeveloper -s <DBusername>/<pwd>@//<Hostname>:<port>/<SID>@<C:\Users\<username>\Desktop/mysqlfile.txt>
    3) Double click 'run.bat'

    SQL Developer doesn't have a command-line interface to support what you're looking for.
    You could use SQL*Plus.
    We have some requests on the Exchange in this area you could add your vote to. This is an area we are investigating for future releases.
