Access to GenIL objects in EXECUTE_OBJECT_METHOD

Question

I am implementing my own GenIL object by extending CL_CRM_GENIL_ABSTR_COMPONENT2. Now I am trying to implement the IF_GENIL_APPL_INTLAY~EXECUTE_OBJECT_METHOD method, but I cannot see how to access the GenIL objects inside this method.
I was expecting a list of GenIL objects to be passed, but I see only the parameter CT_OBJECT_LIST has anything in it, and this is only a table containing the object name and ID of each GenIL object.
How do I now access the GenIL object in the form of a IF_GENIL_CONTAINER_OBJECT or something similar from which I can get the attribute values and children to modify them?
I have looked at other implementations, and I see some make use of a handler factory to provide instances of classes for each GenIL object, but this seems extremely complicated when I just want to access the GenIL object directly.
Any suggestions?

So far I see two, very dirty solutions for this:
1) I can keep a list of root objects with their respective GUIDs inside my implementation class so I can look up the root object when the method is called. Provided I only need to execute a method on a root object, this is fine (as is the case currently).
2) I can get the BOL entity manager from the BOL core instance and retrieve an instance of the BOL entity by the object name and ID. Because the GenIL is called from the BOL, this is a very ugly solution, and ideally I don't want to have to talk to the BOL from within the GenIL, but I guess it may give me access to the children attributes etc. that I need.
