Access to microphone and webcam

Hi,
I need to access to microphone and webcam with Alchemy,
writing c/c++ code.
I know that is possible in ActionScript using classes Camera
(flash.media.Camera) e Microphone (flash.media.Microphone), but is
it possible also in Alchemy?
Can you help me?
Thanks in advance,
Amsicora

@pratfull
It sounds like you're porting an existing C application.
At a high level you need to modify the codebase so it plays
nicely in the Flash sandbox. Remember, the end result of your
Alchemy project is a Flash application, so you'll need to remove
all platform-specific code.
This means eliminating your application's dependence on the
Windows API. Rewrite any dependencies to access system resources in
a flash-friendly way.
If StartCamera is the only function that depends on the
Windows API, then remove windows.h and rewrite the body of that
function. To provide the necessary camera functionality you could
call out to a static AS3 method or write the logic in C. (See
snippet below.)
@amsicora
The following code creates a ByteArray. You could use a
similar approach to get a reference to Camera.
// Create a ByteArray in C
AS3_Val buffer_NS = AS3_String("flash.utils");
AS3_Val buffer_class = AS3_NSGetS(buffer_NS, "ByteArray");
AS3_Val buffer_array = AS3_New(buffer_class, AS3_Array(""));
AS3_Release(buffer_NS);
AS3_Release(buffer_class);

  • Please help: Can't access your microphone and soun...

    Dear all,
    I think this question have been surfaced many times, but after searching for answers sometime, I just have to post again.  So bear with me.
    Machine: Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E220s
    Purchase date: October 2011
    Description: Laptop
    Audio: Internal Microphone (Conexant 20671 SmartAudio HD)
    Speaker: Speakers (Conexant 20671 SmartAudio HD)
                 - In English, that is the internal speaker.
    OS: Windows 7 Home Premier 64 bit
    Skype: 5.5.0.124
               - In English, that is the most up to dated version
    When I try to call the Echo / Sound Test, after hearing the lady says hello, I see a message box comes up:
    Microphone tab has a red exclamation mark.
    Speaker tab has a read exclamation mark.
    In each tab, there is "Can't access your sound card" message. Sometime I see another small box at the bottom right saying "No microphone detected."
    What I have done
    1) Tools -> Options -> General -> Audio settings
    For Microphone and Speakers, I have uncheck the auto adjust settings.
    Restart Skype. Do the "Echo / sound test" and same thing. No detection.
    2) Edit AppData\Skype\shared.xml
    [ Edit: It seems like the editor here does not like the percent sign before and after the AppData.]
    a) I make sure the line AGC XML tag has a value of zero (0).
    b) I make sure the MicVolume tag is just 100.
    Restart Skype. Same thing. Not working.
    3) Test out speaker and microphone in the Skype welcome screen.
    The speaker always works.
    The test on microphone works sometime and does not work sometime.
    Help please! I have less than 24 hours to make a very important call over Skype!

    I solve the issue. After I have updated the system using Lenovo's own software update, the microphone works! I hate it. I think I have run many many times the Windows update but it does not pick up the Lenovo software.
    So solution: Always update your computer system software. If it is a laptop, be sure to use it's own software updater!

  • Microphone and Webcam not working/Webcam not recognized by YouCam

    Hello,
          I have a dv7-6c95dx and my YouCam  program tells me that it does not recognize my integrated webcam. I have read all of the webcam forums on this site and clicked on all of the links people have posted in the forums. I have uninstalled the CyberLink YouCam program and it still comes up with the same messages. The webcam also does not show up in my device manager. The microphone is malfunction as well, it will not work any any programs including skype.
         I have heard that the webcam can come unplugged internally, will that also cause the microphone to stop working? I have run out of options and I do not want to pay anyone to fix it. I would appreciate any advice on this subject.

    Hi DillOrNoDill,
    Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx Notebook and sound and microphone issues and Webcam not working correctly. I would be happy to assist if needed. Try these steps first.
    1. Right click speaker icon (right hand corner)
    2. Select Playback devices
    3. Right click Speakers
    4. Enable it and set as Default
    5. Click Apply/Ok
    You could also try Microsoft troubleshooter located on your Notebook.
    Here is a document on WebCam troubleshooting. The Webcam will be listed in your device manager under Imaging devices. You should be able to click the action button and scan for new hardware.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • Microphone and webcam not working on Yoga S1 after windows 10 update

    I have to admit I never tried the webcam since I got my Yoga which had win 8.1 originally installed on it, but with the update to windows 10, I'm trying more things out. I did install the camera driver from http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-yoga-series-laptops/thinkpad-yoga?c=1  but no luck.I dont even see any kind of camera in device manager. The camera app just says "something is wrong" amd closes. I tried Skype and it also could not detect a working webcam. After installing  windows 10, I did try Cortina and it had me go into microphone setup and it was working. However after subsequent updates, it no longer works. The micropphone levels are ll the way 100%, but when I try to setup the mic, I never see the level meters move when trying the speech test dictation,. Ive installed the Conexant drivers in the the above link, and also uninstalled them and tried to go back to what are the default microsoft drivers, neither seem to wor

    Hey 22d05da3,
    Hey I see that you're having an issue with the webcam and microphone.
    This could be a hardware issue knowing both of these features are in the same module
    But first,
    Can you go to device manager then go under the section that says imaging devices and tell me if the webcam shows up under there. Also, check and see if there's any type of exclamation mark next to it.
    Next, Go to the sound controllers section also and let me know if you can see the microphone underneath that.
    Now, these two don't have drivers to install from the website. What you can do is uninstall these drivers from the device manager then restart your Notebook. It should install the drivers after you restart.
    Also, if this doesn't work you can do a driver recover from the software. Here is a document to show you how to do that.
    http://goo.gl/XjqLp
    Go down to the section that says "Reinstall the original webcam program that came with your computer".
    If any other issues come up before this like you can't find the drivers in the device manager. Go to the section on that document that says " Webcam is not listed in the device manager ".

  • Apps requesting access to microphone (iOS7)

    This may be something with iOS 7, but I'm seeing our apps ask for access to the microphone at launch. What triggers this? We aren't using the microphone in the app. At least not that we are aware of.
    Edit: We have 12 apps in the App store. All of them launch with a warning requesting microphone access in iOS 7. You can choose don't allow because the apps don't use the microphone, but we need to figure out how to remove this. Our apps range from air 3.5 to 3.7 I believe. It's affecting all them in the same way. They all show up under the privacy tab in iOS 7 with a toggle.

    This should be fixed in the latest air update. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1281043?tstart=0
    3613819 - [iOS7]on using Sound.play app asks permission for accessing the Microphone even when microphone API is not used in the app.
    I updated air and tested in a new empty project. I still get the microphone request popup.
    I'm targetting swf version 21.
    CTAirSdkVersion tag is 3.8.0.1290 in app's Info.plist so I'm using the latest air sdk.
    I'm testing on ipod touch 5g running iOS7 beta 6.
    This is the only code:
    var sound : Sound = new Sound(new URLRequest("sound.mp3"));
    sound.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, function(e:Event) : void {
         sound.play();
    Am I missing something or does the bug still exists?

  • Request access to microphone

    How to request access to my ipod touch 5g microphone to use my rogers onenumber application?
    I ve accidentally click "dont allow" access to microphone on "rogers onenumber" application.
    Now, when i use rogers onenumber to make a call, i do not have microphone.
    Rogers onenumber is not showing up in the setting>privacy>microphone.

    Oh sorry, after searching and reading in the discussion of some of the questions, i have got the solution.
    I go to setting>general>reset>location & privacy thats it.
    When i open the apps again, it ask me to allow permission to access microphone. God is good!

  • App needs access to microphone

    App needs access to my microphone and I declined instead of accepted. How do I go back to get asked again? I tried to remove and reinstall app but didn't work. Reboot didn't help either. Worked fine and didn't ask for access until the iOS7 update.

    Setting>privacy>microphone should do the trick.

  • Google chrome access the microphone

    Google has a funny feature that we can access from Google chrome (work with the chromium build too). We pronounce a search query and Google make the search. But my question is how Chrome can access the microphone? (there is no flash here). If Google can listen what I said, what is done to prevent a malicious website to listen what is saif in the room?

    That is a good question. I believe it uses HTML5 / javascript on top of Native Client. Native Client is designed to a alllow native code to to be safely run within the client or in this case web browser. Of course, people can create hacks of the ap which allows said hackers to listen to you from your microphone without your permission. Native Client of course makes this harder. I hope I explained it correctly.

  • Satellite C650-197 Built In Microphone and Jacks not working

    As the title, I tried to use the my microphone that comes inbuilt on this model (integrated VGA Web Camera with built-in microphone) and found its not working. Tried to plug in an external microphone via the mic jack and still not recording.
    I cant seem to find the drivers for the inbuilt or the jack anywhere.
    Any ideas?

    Hi
    > I cant seem to find the drivers for the inbuilt or the jack anywhere.
    Such drivers dont exist. The sound card driver controls everything.
    I think you should firstly start the webcam software and should test the mic because the internal mic is a part of the webcam.
    The webcam software provides an tab; settings and properties. In one of these tabs you would find settings for audio.
    There you could increase the mic volume and could record small audio session.
    Additionally I recommend checking the settings in control panel -> sound.
    Be sure that mic volume is set to max. Don't forget to check hidden and disabled devices there...

  • In-built microphone and camera problems

    Hello,
    I have an HP Pavillion DV7 Notebook, S/N [Edited for Personal Information] and product number QG704EA#B1A, running Win7 Home Premium. Some days ago I was obliged to run the recovery procedure. Everything was going well for some days until I tried to communicate again with Skype and found out that although I was receiving sound and video from the calling persons, they were not able to hear me or see me.
    I tried to fix the problem with Skype settings but I am receiving always the messages that my built-in microphone and camera are not found/recognised. I looked at control panel/System and confirmed that CyberLink WebCam Virtual Driver (6.0.5600.0 dated 11/1/2010) and IDT High Definition Audio CODEC (6.10.6329.0 dated 11/3/2011) are working properly. I even uninstalled them and reinstalled using HP Recovery Manager but still no solution.
    Could you please give me some advice?
    Thanks in advance
    Matzaridis [Edited for Personal Information]

    Hello gematz.
    I see that you're having an issue with mic/camera in skype. I will try to help you with this.
    Are you having an issue with these in any other program?
    As you've already reinstalled the drivers with Recovery Manager, I would suggest trying to update them next. You can use the HP Support Assistant to do this: Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 7).
    If that fails to resolve the issue, then you may want to give the following documents a read through.
    No Sound from the Speakers or Headphones (Windows 7) - does provide steps for general sound issues
    Webcam Troubleshooting (Windows 7)
    If these are working fine during testing or in other programs, you may want to try uninstalling and reinstalling skype.
    Please let me know how this goes for you. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums.
    I worked on behalf of HP.

    Hello flyonwall25,
    Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    The following support article will help you troubleshoot this issue of your iPad's microphone issue.  Even though the title for the article states it's for an iPhone, the same steps apply for your iPad.

    You are on Windows 2000, you do not have a "Firefox" button, and should consider yourself to be fortunate in that you still have menus and don't have to do anything to get the menus back instead of the "Firefox" button. (The same applies to Windows XP users).
    Use the "File" menu to get to Import. You are not on Windows 7 or Vista, and don't have to put up with the nonsense added for Aero.
    If you want the "Firefox" button you can get it with View -> toolbars -> (uncheck) Menu Bar. The menu bar and the "Firefox" button were supposed to be mutually exclusive (which is impossible in some cases without being incompatible).
    Once you are using the "Firefox" button ...
    Use the "Alt" key to view the menu bar (temporarily) containing File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, and Help. On Windows 7 and Vista, the menu bar was hidden by default in Firefox 4 and above. These menu items are more or less available under the "Firefox" button which has the most used of the built-in Firefox menu items available in a different format.
    To get back to having menus again. "Firefox" button -> Options (second column) -> (check) Menu Bar
    You can make '''Firefox 7.0.1''' look like Firefox 3.6.*, see numbered '''items 1-10''' in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 thru 8.0, look like 3.6)]. • Windows 7 computers asking for network password to access shared files and printers on Windows XP PRO computer.

    I have a network of 10 computers configured as peer-to-peer work group. I have upgraded one of the ten from Windows XP PRO to Windows 7 PRO. The other nine computers are all running XP PRO. AS near as I can tell they are all configured the same. I have the
    same user and same passwords on all computers. One of XP computers is used as a print server. The Windows 7 computer initially was able to access shared files and printers on all XP machines with out requesting a network password.
    Suddenly, the Win 7 computer began requesting a network password to access the shared files and printers on the XP print server. It will not accept any of the user names or passwords (all administrators on both machines with identical names and passwords.)
    The Win 7 computer has no problem accessing the shared files on the other XP machines. It can even access shared printers in a different work group. Apparently something has changed but I'm at my wits end trying to figure what changed on either the Windows
    7 machine or the print server XP machine.
    I would appreciate any help. Thank you

    Hi,
    Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following:
    1.
    Disable simple file sharing on the Windows XP computer:
    How to disable simple file sharing and how to set
    permissions on a shared folder in Windows XP
    2.
    On the Windows 7 computer, go to “Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network and Sharing Center\Advanced sharing settings” and ensure that the
    following items are turned ON:
    Network Discovery
    File and printer sharing
    And this one is OFF:
    Password protected sharing
    3.
    Temporarily disable or remove all the security software (firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware, etc.) on the computers and check if it works.
    In addition,
    I would like to share the following with you for your reference:
    Troubleshoot file and printer
    sharing
