Access to the DPS cn=monitor tree

I'd like to be able to access the cn=monitor tree of DPS without having to bind as the proxy manager.
Is there a possible DPS setup to achieve this like using a pool without data source or creating a data
source that point to the proxy itself ?

I had actually the same kind of configuration as the one you mentioned, excepted that I didn't wanted to use an anonymous
bind. In such a case, I had the errors below. Then, I tried to connect as anonymous, and it worked, which should be somewhat
sufficient in my use case.
Anyway, I'm interested in understanding why I had errors/problems when using a specific account.
Of course, I had a connection handler for it, and I also had defined a specific view under cn=config, since I didn't want
to create the user in the directory or in a separate LDIF view.
That view base was "ou=special users,cn=config". I also had to extend the proxy schema to prevent warning messages
about unknown objectclass/attributes in the proxy "server.out" file.
I did it in its own schema file, but never managed the proxy to take it under account.
(So, it seems like it's not recommended/supported to modify the proxy schema, this way at least)
Then, when searching the cn=monitor tree, I had the following behaviour, while it was working at the same time with
an anonymous bind:
ldapsearch -b "cn=monitor" -D "cn=monitoring user,ou=special users,cn=config" -w password objectclass=top
ldap_simple_bind: Operations error
ldap_simple_bind: additional info: Unable to read BIND response from server proxyldaptest:389/
The above errors always came about 40 seconds after the request (??...) with the following access logs
[26/Feb/2009:10:43:22 +0100] - CONNECT - INFO - conn=866 client=127.0.0.1:60772 server=localhost:389 protocol=LDAP

Garageband is not picking sound from builtin mic (rMBP).
I recorded some tracks, now it is not working. I have checked GB Preferences, Audio/MIDI > Audio Input > Built In Microphone.
All other apps can use the mic. Dictation, Skype etc. can use the mic!
Monitoring is switched ON at GB, it picks sound only some other app, eg. Skype, is used to access the mic.
Can any one help me, Please!
    Many thanks!

I have foud the solution - rather stupid. The system setting for audio input was at 70%, increasing it to 100% solves the problem!

  • Can't Access WVC200 with the Cisco Video Monitoring System

I have contacted the help desk but nothing is forthcoming.
I need help to configure a WVC200 to with the Cisco video monitoring system. In the camera configuration there is no drop down item for a Linksys wvc200 camera only the WVC210 camera. Thus access is not possible. With my other camera WVC 210 there is no problem. Who can help?
Also the Cisco video monitoring system cannot reduce in size (drag smwller) but only full screen or nothing.. how can I move the monitor to my other video screen.
    Mike

    Steven
I know it is not a bug and that WVC 200 is not supported anymore but I find that a lame excuse. I only bought this 18 months ago and now Cisco does not support this. If it had been 5 years ago then I could accept.
Why you can't add a wvc200 template in the Cisco video monitoring systemn I just do not know.
Even the latest WVC200 fireware is only released this year.

    Hi
    1. First create a user like readonlyweblogic using some password in Weblogic Console. In Weblogic Console itself, select this new user and go to his Group Memberships and add a Group named Monitors. This means this user has Monitor role for Weblogic Console. Monitor is a Read Only access role to the weblogic console.
    2. NOW, with full admin privileges user, login into EM Console. Select soa_infra, right click mouse -> Security -> Application Roles. On right side, click green arrow and see list of Roles shown. Select the role named SOAMonitors, click on this. And add a User to this that is created above like "readonlyweblogic".
    3. Close all the browsers. Open a new browser and test weblogic console and em console with this new user.
I have this setup like this in many envs and they all work fine. They are read only access users for admin console and em console.
    Thanks

  • Your account does not have access to the forums system.

Greetings, My name is Jeff, I'm from Netwrix Corporation, which is a Microsoft partner. I have a problem with accessing Microsoft TechNet forum. After signing-in to my account: [email protected], I go to TechNet
forum, and get a message that:  "Your account does not have access to the forums system." And also I've noticed that all my posts were deleted from TechNet forums. Can moderators tell me why did that happen? Why didn't I receive any warning
    about my account suspension?
I've already submitted 2 tickets to MSDN Site Feedback Inquiry but didn't receive any answer.
I've called Microsoft TechNet at 800-344-2121 and Professional
Support team at 1-800-936-5800.  But everybody send me to the MSDN Site Feedback Inquiry from which I didn't get any answer.
Anybody can help me with my problem?

    Hi,
Is this the profile you're referencing?
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Profile/netwrix
It doesn't appear to be banned, but you're definitely right about there being no activity listed.
I'd suggest contacting the forums team directly by sending an email to fissues (at) microsoft [dot] com. The admins do monitor this forum, so you'll probably get a response here as well.

  • "Ease of Access - Make the Mouse Easier to Use" will not turn off Auto-maximize

I have a dual monitor setup and any window that I drag over to the right hand monitor gets auto-maximized. A red border appears around that monitor when I position a window (any window) in it. The left hand monitor works normally. I can make the window smaller,
but if I try to move it from the top of the monitor or from the left side then it auto-maximizes.
This problem does not occur if I log onto my wife's user account, so it must be something in the settings for my account.
I see many people asking how to turn off the snap feature, and I have checked the "Prevent Windows from being automatically arranged..." box in the "Ease of Access" item in the control panel" - but this does not fix the problem.
My tale of woe seems a bit different than what I have seen described in various forums.
Has anyone seen this problem and solved it?

    Hi,
Here's the way to disable auto-maximize via the registry:
    1.Run Registry Editor (RegEdit).
2.Navigate to the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowArrangementActive
3.In the right-pane, double click (or right click and select Modify) on WindowArrangementActive, and set its REG_SZ value to 0 to disable ; 1 to enable.
    4.Close Registry Editor.
5.Log off and log on again, or restart computer for the change to take effect.
    Hope it helps.

  • How can I migrate data from an old MBA to a new one without having access to the screen of the old one? The screen of the old MBA is damaged !

How can I migrate data from an old MBA to a new one without having access to the screen of the old one? The screen of the old MBA is damaged !

If your "older" MBA has a Thunderbolt port then it isn't that old. See Target Disk Mode about how it's used. Note that without a monitor you won't be able to tell from the screen when it has fully started, and if it succeeded in starting in TDM. If it did, then the hard drive should appear on the Desktop of your new computer. You can then access it to transfer your files. You can even use Migration Assistant or any backup utility to transfer data. Just don't try to transfer system files.

  • 10.6.8 upgrade - I want Apple to fix it, not me have to do the work.  I no longer have access to the header menu for the desktop.  No History, no QUIT.  Is Apple aware? Planning a fix for the fix?

I installed the 10.6.8 upgrade over the weekend and now have no access so the main desktop menu.  I am having to hit power off button to power down.  The links work for one application load after I boot up.  Cannot tell if it is is just Safari or not.  DOes Apple monitor these postings and do additional testing to correct?

    balto,
You'll have to forgive me but being from an IT background there are certain things you take for granted, such as backups!
That said when I really needed my Time Machine backup a couple of years ago, it did an epic fail on me.  Ever since I have been backup paranoid.
I now have approx 6 current backups of data including one offsite.  Call me over cautious but its better to be safe than sorry!!  I now use a combination on Time Machine and Carbon Copy Cloner to produce periodic backups and also bootable clones.  With external drives being so cheap these days there really is no excuse.
So taking on board your comments and those of others  :-
    i)     Take a backup, either via Time Machine or some other cloning route such as Carbon Copy Cloner.
ii)     Repeat step i) but to another disk.
iii)     Download the COMBO OS update - NOT the delta one.  It will take longer but its worth it.
    iv)     Turn off Mac
    v)     Disconnect ALL external peripherals except keyboard/mouse e.g those devices required to boot.
    Vi)     Turn off Mac
vii)     Boot Mac in Safe mode by press shift key whilst switching on the Mac and leave shift pressed until Apple logo appears.  Mac will take longer to boot but will present user login with red Safe mode tag.  Login.
viii)     Run a permissions repair from Disk Utility.
ix)     Run COMBO updater and allow the Mac to reboot.
    x)     Login as normal but immediately run permissions repair again from Disk Utility.
xi)     Reboot Mac for final time again and all should now be well.
Think that should just about do it though as with everything be careful and use at your own risk.

  • I'm getting the "App Activate" error when I try to download my bundles from the DPS App Builder.

I have a Single-App subscription to the Adobe Creative Cloud.
According to this FAQ (link: http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html#single-app) I should be able to publish unlimited single .folios with DPS with my Single-App subscription to the Creative Cloud. Here is the exact paragraph I'm refering to from that FAQ:
As a Creative Cloud member, do I have access to Digital Publishing Suite?
Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition is not available to free Creative Cloud members. Creative Cloud single-app and complete members have an unlimited Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition license. Creative Cloud for teams members also have an unlimited Digital Publishing Suite Single Edition license.
When I build the app in the DPS App Builder and reach the end of the process, I'm getting the error where it asks me to provide a Single Edition subscription serial to download the developer bundles for my app.
I have tried all the methods described on this forum to solve this problem, including deleting and reinstalling the DPS App Builder, deleting the old apps and creating new ones after redownloading the DPS App Builder, deleting the DPS App Builder, signing out of my Folio Builder in InDesign, redownloading the DPS App Builder, signing into my Folio Builder in InDesign again, etc., to no avail.
Can anyone help? This is a time-sensitive issue and I'm trying to get this app into the Apple submission process immediately. I can answer any questions if you all have troubleshooting advice for me.
    Thanks,
    David

Thank you for the information and the response. We will be upgrading to the full version of Creative Cloud to publish our single .folio.
I do want to remark on the issues created by Adobe's inconsistent explanation of how DPS can be used with the Creative Cloud. After reading that FAQ, I also spoke with an "Adobe Agent" through the chat system that pops up on various product pages and asked the agent as specifically as I could if the Single-app version of Creative Cloud would allow me to publish single .folios through DPS. In no uncertain terms the agent said the Single-app version would be fine, and referred me to the order page to begin the order process.
I spoke with another agent over chat in the morning on Saturday and they also said I should be able to publish single .folios with the Singe-app subscription to Creative Cloud. When I presented my App Activation problem to the agent, the agent said I should just wait 24-48 hours for my subscription to Creative Cloud to process so I could create my app.
This has been a very vexing process that has cost my team valuable app review time. If I had not encountered the FAQ and two agents who specifically told me that I could use the Single-app version of Creative Cloud to publish my .folio, I would have been happy to go straight to purchasing the full version of Creative Cloud.
    Thanks again for the assistance.

  • Restricting access to the Admin WebConsole of WebAccess 2012

    Hi,
With the new WebAccess 2012 web application, the console is now a WebConsole that can be accessed by the URL http://<server>/gw/webacc?action=Admin.Open
I search the KB, the documentation and now this forum, looking for a way to restrict access to my precious WebAccess Console. No luck! (Only one thread ask for a similar solution restrict admin tool based on ip with no solution provided so far)
Humm So we are only 2 guys in the Groupwise community concern with security in those days? No engineer at Novell ask himself if exposing an Admin console to the Whole Internet is a good idea?
Furthermore, login (successes and failures) to the Webconsole are not written to log files. So I cannot even monitor if my WebConsole is under a brute force attack!
Here some technical information to consider:
    1) I have Groupwise 2012 SP2 running under Windows 2008 R2
    2) Since the Admin Webconsole is hosted under the same web site as WebAccess, I cannot restrict access to the URL http://<server>/gw/webacc?action=Admin.Open without blocking at the same time access to WebAccess using firewall or IIS rule.
    3) I do not want to use IPS to restrict access to this URL

Francois, Just FYI the "green dots" are only accumulated by forum users taking the time to rate Laura's answers. She has no control over them and they speak for themselves. I've asked Knowledge partners to put the bit about rating in their signatures, it wasn't Laura's idea. Just FYI Laura also has the highest feedback scores out of all her peers in the program which also says something about her interactions here in the forums. As was pointed out, Laura is not a Novell employee, just another Novell user trying her best to stay on top of the issues and taking time out of her busy day to try to help other forum users. Nobody is going to be right 100% of the time. Please refrain from petty personal attacks in the future.
I suggest you take the time to read the forum Terms of Service: https://forums.novell.com/faq.php?faq=novfor#faq_rules where it states clearly:
Offensive Messages: Messages personally attacking, calling names, or otherwise harassing or being condescending to another forum member or any ethnic or religious group will be deleted. Offensive and/or vulgar language is not appropriate for Novell sponsored forums.
Your message was offensive, personally attacking, condescending and was deleted as per the forum terms and conditions. I wouldn't be surprised if the volunteers around here were a bit slower to respond to any issue you may post here in the future.

  • Portege R500: cannot connect the remote DVI monitor via Dynadock

    Hello,
I just connected Dynadock (DVI) with my Portege R500. The notebook would be supported -- according to Toshiba -- but my experiment confirms that Dynadock is not able to access DVI port. This implies, that Dynadock is nothing more than USB HUB.
My setup: Vista 32b Business (CZE edition), latest fixes, Toshiba R500.
    Software: latest dynadock software 2.3c.
Symptom: I cannot connect to the remote DVI monitor via the dynadock, only two external panels with 800x600 are available, but Vista does not allow me to choose them.
More info: Dynadock Software requires to run without Microsoft Defender, else it blocks service:DisplayLinkService; file:C:\Program Files\DisplayLink Core Software\DisplayLinkService.exe
If you disable MSDef, the message "error 2738" appears when you connect the dynadock and when Vista tries to install a missing drivers for you.
Yes, I do know the VBS issue, and the problem is not caused by VisualBasic -- VBS "Hello World" runs.
If you still believe, that Toshiba Dynadock is compatible with Toshiba R500, then press Fn-F5 and peek at your logs and you must find something like:
In English: igfxext.exe throws an exception 0xc000000d, offset 0x0000f9f8.
I welcome any comments, hints etc. If you are able to pass this bug report to a responsible engineer, do so please.

    Hello again Leo
I still believe you are wrong. Toshiba Dynadock is not designed for Toshiba products only. It is universal product and can be used on every notebook. To be honest I believe it is better to use it with new, more powerful, notebooks.
When you sat your notebook model is listed as compatible I believe you. Why not? Toshiba can list all newer notebooks. No problem at all. To be honest I am also interested to buy Dynadock but after reading your posting I wanted to see how it works exactly.
I have contacted my friend because he works in one big electronic store and I was lucky because he had Portege M500 too.
He was very nice and offered me to test Portege M500 SSD model with Dynadck PA3542EY1PRP. I hope you have the same model. It is DVI model. So I have done follow:
    - Portege was preinstalled with clean Vista OS (factory settings started for the first time)
    - I have installed latest Dynadock Utilitiy for Vista 2.3c
    - Installing this software you must pay attention about installations steps and the installations procedure should not be interrupted
at one step there is window Installation Complete but it is not complete and must be continued with
    Display Link Core Software installation
    Video Dock installation
at this point the Dynadock must be connected to favorite USB port NOT FROM THE BEGINNING
    - At the end I have restarted notebook
The installation was finished properly and I have connected 20 Toshiba Tekbright LCD display (DVI cable). The native resolution is 1680x1050. in Display properties there are shown three displays. Display number 3 belongs to display connected to the Dynadock.
Resolution 1680x1050 was there and display shows perfect picture. I have tested it as extended desktop and it works without problems. I didnt test it playing some movies.
I have also tested it with FN+F5 key combination. It does not work as it should be but there is definitely no error message. I know that FN+F5 key combination is not designed for external graphic card and I know that it can not work well.
At the end I can sat that Dynadock works well with Portege M500 SSD and there is definitely no error message. It works with Vista very well. I have tested it with screen saver and with few restarts. Nothing changes. Everything was OK.
So after this test I can say that you have done some mistake. If you want to use it again I recommend you to install Vista again using recovery image. After doing this you will have clean preinstalled OS. Install software but please follow the menu on the screen and be sure all three components are installed properly. If I am remembering well when you see message about USB audio device installation you must connect Dynadock and continue installation.
PLEASE FOE DYNADOCK USE ALWAYS THE SAME USB PORT!!!
Sorry for this long story but I can say for sure IT WORKS PROPERLY!!!
    Have a nice day!

  • Can I hide or lock (with password) access to the add-on manager?

So users can't see what add-ons I have running? I don't want my (tech savvy) children knowing or being able to alter add-ons monitoring what they are viewing. I've caught my daughter looking at inappropriate stuff and she's a sneaky one so she tries to hide it.
I'd like to be able to restrict access to the add-on manager (through the menu bar as well) or hide it completely so only I can find it.
    Is that possible?

Note that some extensions can be installed globally in the Firefox program folder and won't show on the about:addons page.
