Access using Putty
Hi,
I am having issues connecting to my cisco 2960 switch through putty. When I try to connect I get access denied. This is not a new switch and I have asked the networking group if any changes have been made.
You tell us that this is not a new switch. But you do not tell us whether access using putty used to work or not. That would be a good place to start.
You also have not told us whether you are attempting to connect using Telnet, SSHv1, SSHv2, or some combination. That would also be helpful information.
When you attempt to connect do you get any prompt? Or is it just immediately a message about access denied?
Can you give us the specific message that you get when you attempt to connect? That might provide some insight into the issue.

As mentioned, be sure you have your $PATH set correctly.
The error you received is because the command you entered was not found in your current path.
Normally, this is defined in your .bash_profile.
But, you can also set up your path at the command prompt by putting in:
First*, you need to set your ORACLE_HOME. This is the home directory as defined by Oracle where the binaries for the software are installed.
Example:
$ export ORACLE_HOME=/oracle/product/11.1
Then*, you need to either set your Oracle bin directory in your path, or run it from the bin directory
Examples:
Set PATH to include the Oracle bin directory
export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$PATH
You can also change directory to your *$ORACLE_HOME/bin* directory and run the command from there as:
./sqlplus <return>
or run it with the fully qualified path from any location as:
/oracle/product/11.1/bin/sqlplus <return>
Also, be sure to set your ORACLE_SID before your run SQL*Plus, or you will get an error SP2-0750.
example: export ORACLE_SID=<db_name>

I bought a new imac running Loin with Office 2011. I am the only mac in the office and the Server we use to access emails runs exchange 2003 and my IT person says the imac is not compatible with the server. The server does not want to let me access using any email software other than webmail access through our website. It looks as though 2011 is not compatible with 2003 per some searches online, but what are some options I have to gain full access again? I purchased parallels in hopes that this my help and I am able to use remote desktop connection to log on to server but can not drag and drop files I need. There is a shared drive on that Server we all use to exchange files.
The two main issues are gaining access to my email again and ability to drag and drop files from mac to pc. I hope this is enough info to get some solutions.
PS - IT person says my iMac's IP is what his server does not understand so that is why I can not login.Office 2011 is not compatbile with Exchange 2003.

I have a 2504 Wireless Controller with multiple radios attached. I currently have a "private" WLAN configured (taking ip from windows server based DHCP of Range 192.1681.0/24 ) and working, but I need to add a Guest/Public WLAN which should take the IP from Other DHCP Configured on Fortigate UTM of range 172.16.0.0/24.
We have one SG300 switch in the office and the rest are basic switches.
Our firewall/router is a Fortigate UTM 240D
Find the attached network diagram for the issue.
Is there a SIMPLE way to enabling guest access that doesn't require VLANS (or are VLANS easier than I'm making them)?

No internet access using manual TCP/IP settings after 10.4.6
I stopped being able to access the internet with manual TCP/IP settings in the Network Preferences after updating from 10.4.5 -> 10.4.6.
When I change settings to use DHCP everything works fine, but I need to get the manual settings working as I use them quite often when configuring/setting-up routers.
This happens with both the AirPort and Ethernet interfaces, so it doesn't matter which interface I use to connect through.
My network Locations with manual TCP/IP settings have worked fine with 10.4.5, under the same networking hardware (routers, cables, etc...).
This occurs both at home (with my Linksys wireless router) and at work (with a DrayTek router).
At home, this problem occurs with both my PB12 and my wife's iBook12, after the 10.4.6 update was applied.
At work, all Windows laptops can connect to the internet using manual TCP/IP settings, but not my PB12.
Example of my settings:
- IP: 192.168.1.99
- Mask: 255.255.255.0
- Router: 192.168.0.1
- DNS: <empty>
- Domains: <empty>
Already tried, without success:
- verified disk -> no errors found on disk!
- repaired permissions, using Disk Utility, rebooted and tested -> no connection!
- tried with DNS=192.168.0.1 -> no connection!!
- tried with DNS=[my ISP primary dns] -> still nothing!!!
- even tried reapplying the combo update 10.4.5 -> of course, it didn't let me, as I'm now in 10.4.6!
Any thoughts or ideas to fix it and make it work in 10.4.6?

but yes, I probably should have titled it "No network access using..." (posting as 4:30 AM was probably not the best idea :D)
I understand I might have been a bit clumpsy posting my problem and appreciate everyone's corrections to what I wrote, but trust me that I have done a lot of tests and spent many hours on this... Bear in mind that I am using a network Location with manual definitions that was working before the update!
Anyway, as it happens, the likely culprit now seems to be more of a 3rd party software's inability to deal with 10.4.6 rather than the 10.4.6 itself!
I've disabled/unistalled/turnned off/deleted (depending on the app) anything NOT Apple that had anything to do with networking, be it for monitoring, controlling or managing (just to name a few: Little Snitch, Menu Meters, BrickHouse, etc, etc, etc...).
The Location with the manual settings is now working fine (at least at the office).
Over the next week or so I'll incrementaly re-install those 3rd party tools (which were most likely not up-to-date anyway) and see if something breaks at some point... but won't put much effort into it -- just happy to see it working again!
I'm closing this for now, as I don't have any more time for it (work is pilling up!)... If I manage to find out which version/app combination was causing the problem I'll post it back here! -

RFC to HTTP Interface - Access using NULL object reference is not possible
Hi All,
I am working on a Interface RFC to HTTP where in I am sending the data to a third party system.
Using PI 7.3 and Adapter type XI to send this data.
I am getitng an error Short dump occured when executing message in qRFC queue <Queuename>: Date/time 02.12.2011 08:44:57, user XXXXX, runtime error: Access using NULL object reference is not possible.
<SAP:Code area="INTERNAL">QRFC_SYSTEM_DUMP</SAP:Code>
I am entering the parameters such as target host,service number,path correctly with addrseing type as URL.
The message is failing in the call adapter step with the above error.
There are no messages stuck in SMQ2 as well.
Now on the other if I use the adapter type HTTP_AAE the messages is getting successfully delivered with the same parameters mentioned above.But as we know it is a plain adapter and will not have the SOAP envelope.
We would want to send the data using the XI adapter.
Any idea as why this issue is happening?

Wi-Fi access using DLink DIR 615
I just bought my IPad this Saturday. Can't get Wi-Fi access using my DLink DIR 615 router at home. This router supports my brother's laptop w/no problem. My IPad works fine with other hotspots
Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
A few things to try when having issues like this, in order of use:
1. Make sure the router firmware is up to date.
2. Reboot the router by full power off and on.
3. Reboot the iPad by full power off and on.
4. Reset WiFi on the iPad, Settings > WiFi > forget the network and then reinstall the network info by hand.
It is very important to check and make sure the router is using fully updated firmware, especially since you said you are able to connect at other hotspots.

Block database access using toad or other tools
We have a forms application running on oracle database 10g release 2, with the users created in the application the database can be accessed using the same id's through sql plus or any other tool. We have already restricted sql plus access by product_user_profile. Is there any other way to make sure toad or any other tool can be stopped from accesing the database.

by using Java and MS Access, i created a small system, which can read/write information from/to tables in database Access. I run this system in windows environment. it runs well.
i gave this system to another guy, who runs Java in Linux environment. I wonder if ACCESS can be used in Linux environment? if so, should i change some parts in the source code?

We are trying to configure a communication channel using the JDBC adapter. We are setting the driver to the JDBC-ODBC bridge driver and trying to access an MS Acess database from the PI server(sun amd64). When we set the driver to the JDBC-ODBC bridge, the J2EE engine tries to restart immediately and does not start. The std_server.out contains the following error:

Problem storing date in MS Access using JSP

Can anyone please help me storing date in MS Access using Java i am getting errors. I think it is probably because MS Access take "date/month". I am entering a string with date and month example
1st October as "0110". I don't know how to enter a date in MS Access.

Odbc has to be used because thin driver or other drivers may not be available in every system of our college and as you know it's not that easy to make changes to those systems. I initially thought the problem was with str but then str seems to be perfect and I get a string of the form �insert into reg values('c','c','c',98,'Male','c','B.Tech, Applied Artificial Neural Networks','HSC',9898,'h')� which I verified through a javascript debugger. The session scope used is to get values through the db bean from another jsp file. The problem is in the executeUpdate() line of this code. I even tried changing the updation table, but in vain. What could be done to rectify this? Please help me out and please do remember that I have no option but to use odbc.

R. Yogaesh.I didn't verify the type of exception and i'm now going to do that, but then when the string is as perfect as needed, what is the need for a prepared statement? What is the basic difference between the two? And basically what is the problem with this piece of code which creates an exception? Please reply as soon as possible.
