Accessing a component though a loader

i have created an app that loads an external swf though a
flash loader. the external flash swf contains a flash menu bar. the
problem im having is making a script in the master swf change the
properties of the menu bar in the embedded swf. the script works
when in the ebmbeded swf itself.

How can I access global variables in a loaded Applescript?

How can I access global variables in a loaded script, in Xcode, ApplescriptObjC? Basically, I have a global variable defined in my parent script using "property", and I need to modify objects connected to those variables inside of a loaded script.
Example:
Parent script:
script AppDelegate
property myTextField : missing value
//linked to a text field object
tell myScript to myAwesomeHandler_()
end script
Loaded script:
on myAwesomeHandler_()
myTextField's setStringValue_("The new Xcode is so glitchy ugh")
//changes value of linked text field of parent script

The problem is, the variable is undefined in the Loaded script, and I need it to have the same value as the parent script, and I don't want to pass the variable through the Handler. Any ideas?

I think want you are looking to do will need to be done in two steps. Because myTextField needs to be a property for the ObjectiveC part of the code you cannot turn it into a global.
However if you make a temporary variable global assign the string to it in the handler then set myTextField off of it.

I know you stated you did not want the handler to return a value but I have to ask why? Global's, imo, are not a good idea and really should be used as a last resort.
One other possibility is to pass a reference to the property to the handler. Not sure if that works in AS of if that would satisfy our requirement of not passing the variable through the handler

Rented movie stopped half way through,"Accessing itunes store" with revolving loader symbol

FIrst nite with ATV2, it suddenly stopped working, didnt recognize my password, and ultimately i had to change my password. Then went to bed and tried again this morning. It worked.
Second nite with ATV2, we rented a movie. 2/3 of way through movie, the loading circle appeared. cannot access the movie, though it recognizes that we have 22 hrs left on the movie. cannot access other itunes content.
--turned ATV off and back on--didnt work
--checked network--no problems
--reset ATV2--still cannot see anything but loading circle.
Tried to see a tv show we'd watched earlier today. "accessing itunes store" with the loading circle appeared.
HELP?
I have spent more hours trying to make the device work than enjoying it.
Thinking that I want to return this product. it works like a PC device.
If you dont know how to fix it, can you tell me,

are you guys watching TV late at night. I've noticed that the shows stop working at around 11 to 11.30 pm pacific time. I suppose that iTunes updates their catalogue to include the latest shows that are new and cleared for sale after the night's TV schedule. I think it's poor iTunes judgement to do that. Most people watch TV at night. They should update their catalogue some time in the morning hours.
I usually just unplug my apple TV, restart and then wait for a while to make it work.
If you guys get stuck because you put the show on pause then the remedy is to turn the screen saver off. Switch it to never because then when you pause and iTunes server goes out you don't have to re-authorize the show to continue watching it. That's if you purchased and the show was sownloaded to your apple TV

ITunes music files cannot be edited, and new music files imported. The messages says I do not have enough access privileges even though I am the administrator of the system.

Since installing the latest version of iTunes all my music files cannot be edited, and I cannot import new music files into iTunes. I have checked the read and write privileges for all the iTunes folders and it all seems in order so I can't understand it.
In general, I am getting really frustrated with Apple. They seem to be getting ever more controlling in their approach to their consumers. I need to edit music file information as I am a dj. And why can't I import music, unless I buy it from iTunes? Most of all, why can't I use the devices I paid a lot of money for in the way I want to use them, and not be forced to coerced to use apple's fee paying services (iCloud, iTunes).
I have used apple computers since the early 1990's, but in the last year I have gotten rid of my iPhone and my iPad and replaced them with Android devices. Much better and much less control. Perhaps it is time to switch from Apple altogether.

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Can someone please point me to some documentation that describes where my Pipeline
Component classes get loaded from?
I have just wasted hours on this - to find that they are not loaded from WEB-INF/classes
- but instead they must be available to the EJB classloader. The sampleportal
is completely misleading in putting the classes in WEB-INF/classes - because they
are in fact loaded from the sampleportal EJB jar!
Did I miss something obvious?

clients don't access a war file. that's just a package for the container to deal with.
when the WAR is deployed, the container unpackages the contents and deploys the app. From that point forward clients use the deployed stuff. the unpackaged servlets handle requests from then on.

How is your selection filter set up?... make sure that you have 'enable selecting parts' checked. In that way you can select the component. Otherwise you can go to Edit >> Selection Filter >> Enable selecting parts.
If that is not the problem, then please attach your project file here so we can check it out.

First startup of App Store may take a while, trying to pull up sign in and apple-made apps. Especially if you have a slow connection

Hi, You cant access it like this. To access, first give some id to the custom component you have added.
i.e
<custom:FileDataGrid id="custFDG"/>
Then you can acces it from script,
custFDG.dgFile.dataProvider = arrFile;

How do you access parent component from a child in Flex 4?

Suppose I have a Component A (as a Spark Group) that generates an event, eventX. Inside Component A, I add Component B (also a Spark Group) that wants to add itself as an event listener for eventX. How do I access Component A from Component B to register for the event?
For reference, this relationship should be similar to the MVC pattern where Component B is the view, and Component A is the model and controller.
If I were implementing this in ActionScript, I'd have no problem coding this. However, I am using flex, and am still trying to figure out how the FLEX API works.

For the record, I know this code does not work. It has to do with the parent calls in Component B. Comment out those lines, and the code will compile.
