Accessing "changing parametes " from JCo

Hi all,
I would like to access a RFC having "changing" parameters (eg EMPLOYEE_READ_APPLICANTNUMBER). How do I do it? How do I build a custom repository metadata for such a RFC??
when I check the RFC library there the new function RFCCallRecieveEx() seems to support changing parameters but not the older one RFCCallRecieve(), but when I see the trace I see that the RFCCallRecieve() is the one being and therefore I get a RFC_SYS_EXCEPTION error.
Can somebody tell me how to solve the problem? Has somebody tried building metadata for RFC/BAPI containing changing parameters
Thanks in Advance
Dilip

I'm new to JCO and java so I'm not sure how you would handle this on the java side but as a work around you could probably just create a custom ABAP function module that called the original function module.
Just specify all the parameters of the new function module as either IMPORTING or EXPORTING, then inside the new function module call the old one with the parameters as per the interface of the original function module.
On the java side just call the new function module and all your parameters should work ok with the JCO.
The "CHANGING" parameter is really more of an internal ABAP designation indicating the value may be changed during execution.  You can change a parameter that is not designated as changing.  The two behave a little differently if the program is terminated before execution is completed and it adds clarity to the interface, but other than that there really aren't many benefits.

  • Change Parameter from VarChar2 to CLOB

    Hi,
I have a function csvToArray which takes a csv string and converts it to an array.
    PROCEDURE csvToArray(p_csvString IN VarChar2,
    p_count OUT PLS_INTEGER,
    p_array OUT ARRAY_T) IS...
Unfortunately the size of the csvString being passed in exceeds 32K, so I was thinking about changing the type of the csvString from Varchar2 to CLOB,i.e
    PROCEDURE csvToArray(p_csvString IN CLOB,
    p_count OUT PLS_INTEGER,
    p_array OUT ARRAY_T) IS...
The procedure only uses the string functions instr and substr to find the elements of the csv string to place in an array.
I've tested the change and it works, but is there anything I should consider with the change to the data type, or will the above always work fine? The extreme max size of p_csvString would be around 150K.
    Database version is 10.2.0.4.0
    Thanks

I tried doing the same thing by following the steps as mentioned by you. Just to re iterate,
    1. Created a DC "Portal Application Standalone" project by the name myservice.
    2. Created a portal service inside myservice by the ame AmitsService.
    3. Exposed IAmitsService.class in the public part.
4 Build and deployed the DC on server and tested it through an abstract portal component and it worked FINE !!
    Now..
    5. Created anoter DC of type WebDynPro
    6. Added SAP_JTECHS -> epbc.prtapi._api as a "Used DC" with dependency build time and runtime
    7. Specified the sharing reference in the properties as PORTAL:sap.com/myservice
    8. Tried to reference the service using the following code..
    IAmitsService portalservice=(IAmitsService)WDPortalUtils.getServiceReference(IAmitsService.KEY);

In System Preferences>iCloud: Sign Out, reboot and then Sign In with your ID and password.
If Find My Mac is switched on you will be unable to sign out without the previous owners password.

  • Accessing US store from non US teritory: instead of disabling ID, Apple should warn us to change country then honor our pass purchases

Apple lately had disabled many its iTunes US stores for accessing the store while they are not in US teritory.  This practice had made its customers unable to access the iTunes iCloud, upgrading the apps both for the apps for the iOS or the software that we purchased for our Mac through the App Store.  In my case, I lost $1000+ of my digital assets suddenly.
Here are my suggestion for Apple for its customer who are accessing US store from Outside US:
AA. "Disalowing New Purchase" With the ability of looking thru IP address when we plan to purchase, Apple should warn any new purchase from US customer who are not in US at the time of new purchases.
BB. "Ask the customer to change country in the setting" then they can purchase any available items for that country.  But still their past purchased should be honored.
I hope Apple give solution instead penalizing suddenly its paying customers.

  • How to pass parameter from FM to report without changing interface of FM

  • Accessing the Query String parameter from a portlet

    Hi!
I have developed a PDK portlet in Jdev 10.1.3.3 for Web Center (Just for testing, later it'll go on Oracle Portal 10.1.4). I am trying to access the query string parameter coming in the URL but not successfull at all. Following are the options that I have tried in vain :
    In MyPDkPortletShowPage.jsp with *<passAllUrlParams>true</passAllUrlParams>*
    1.) PortletRenderRequest pReq = (PortletRenderRequest) request.getAttribute(HttpCommonConstants.PORTLET_RENDER_REQUEST);
    pReq.getParameter("data");
    2.) request.getParameter("data");
    3.) request.getAttribute("data")
This makes me ask that is there any other way to access the parameter or is it simply not possible?
    Please suggest!
    Regards,
    Neeraj.

    Hi Neeraj:
I didn't deal with web center before i am working on Oracle Portal 10.1.4 so if you done that on oracle portal and got the same problem check for this?
    - add the parameter in the page parameter then you will get the value from either preq.getParameter or from request.getParameter, just go to page properties and add a page
    parameter called data
    - did you publish your page containing your portlet as portlet and included it in other page or it is just a page containing this portlet?

  • Passing changing parameter to RFC of ECC 6.0 from webdynpro java

    Hi,
I need to use a simple ZRFC from ECC 6.0 for ESS customization in one of the ESS components (Portal 7.0). There is a  changing parameter in the zRFC which should return a set of multiple values. I can see one single parameter under as input parameter (directly under the main node) and i can set a value for it. How to pass the values to changing parameter (it is a structure of multiple fields) while executing the model. Can any one please provide the code sample of executing the model.
    Regards
    Ramesh

    Hi,
This is my Model Node. Ch_Ethnicity is supposed to hold a set of rows (table). It is at both Input and Output. Currently I am passing only Im_Raky which is a code and I should get the table of descriptions into Ch_Ethnicity parameter under the Output Node. But webdynpro Model is expecting some input to the Ch_Ethnicity parameter under the Input Node also. This is the problem and when I have contacted Ababp team, I am asked to send an empty table structure for Ch_Ethnicity parameter under Input Node also. Can you suggest me the code to send an empty table structure as input according to the below given context.
    Z_Get_XXXXXX_Input
    Ch_Ethnicity
    ---Zhr_Ethnicity
    ethcode
    ethdesc
    AndSoOn Attrib N
    Output
    Z_Get_xxxxxx_Output
    Ch_Ethnicity
    Zhr_Ethnicity
    ethcode
    ethdesc
    AndSoOn Attrib N

Perhaps you're not handling the "EndOfStreamEvent" correctly/at all, and thus not freeing up the socket to listen for the "NewReceiveStreamEvent " after the initial stream has ended...

  • Access SAP data from xMII 12.1 without RFC or JCO

    Hi All,
Is it possible to access/get data from SAP in xMII without RFC/ JCO call?
Let me know if there is other option available..
    Regards,
    Sachin

    Sachin,
As far my knowledge goes the primarily used forms of achieving MII to ERP connectivity,
    1) MII -- ERP (via RFC, IDOC's, BAPI's)
    2) MII -- PI(XI) -- ERP
    3) MII -- ESR -- ERP (Web-services)
But, I completely concur with Mike on this, you do not need to create any function modules unless you have no other choice.
Check this link for List of Bapi's available and their description
    [BAPI List|http://www.sapbapi.com/bapi-list/]
If none of the BAPI's really meets your requirement then you can go for "RFC_READ_TABLE" this RFC accepts the SAP table name and desired column names. (in a way you will be accessing the SAP DB you are looking for...)
Yet, if none of the above options suffices your requirement only then you go for writing a custom Function module.
    [Writing Function Module|http://abaplovers.blogspot.com/2008/02/creating-function-module-in-sap-abap.html]
    Good Luck!!
