Accessing discoverer via url.

Accessing Discoverer via URL.
Hi,
I'm having a problem with the following....
I am trying to setup a scheduler for generating discoverer reports, without using the discoverer scheduler. I want to be able to easily print them off in a particular location.
This is fine for normal reports with simple url's but complicated url's are causing me a problem. I have created a java program which will build the url string from some set parameters using the URL class.
Parameters include Responsibility, user name, password, workbook and the workbooks parameters.
The problem is that discoverer will not allow the request asking the user to reenter his password. Even when a site check indicates that the url is exactly correct.
I have even taken the generated url and cut and pasted it into the browser without success. I don't think it is a java issue but maybe how the system is setup.
Any help would be useful!

Hi
You cannot embed the password on the java command line. This was determined to be a security breach because the password would have been in plain view. In order to make a URL work you need to be working with the full application server and be using either private or public connections, ideally with SSO enabled.
All you do is run the report as usual from within Viewer when connected as the user you want to be connected as. You can then copy the URL from the address bar at the top of your browser and paste this into a new browser. If a public connection is being used without SSO the report will execute. If SSO is enabled then SSO authentication is required. If a private connection is being used without SSO then the password will be prompted, whereas if a private connection is being used and you are using SSO then the password will be remembered by SSO and supplied for the user.
I hope this helps
Best wishes

  • The Character is rough-and-tumble accessing discoverer via OEM

    Dear all.
I'm new for ora9ias. I have some install questions.
In the first machine, I only installed Oracle9iAS Infrastructure. The product language included simple chinese and english. and I selected the default character set.
In the second machine, i installed oracle9ias.
Then I successfully accessed the OEM like this website http://sec.mach.com:1810.
But when i access the discoverer from the system groupware, i find that the
    character is rough-and-tumble except english.
Must i use the UTF8 as character set in Infrastructure? if yes, can i change the
    character set without reinstalling Infrastructure.
Please give me the answer. thank you.

  • Can't change IP address because I can't access it via URL

I am on a MAC running snow leopoard. I recently got  a new router. My old router had a 192.168.0..... prefix. My new router has a 192.168.1... prefex. I tried to reset the wireless on my printer by entering the new WPA/WEP password. It says it's successful and my computer's System Preferences can actually find it. However, when I print a network page, it says the IP address is 192.168.0.254 (which is the old router's prefix). Therefore, when I type that into a web browser, the page never displays and eventually times out. Is there another way to reset the IP address without using it's current IP address?
    Thanks!

    Ok, let's try the following:
First, turn your printer Off and then On.
Enter the Setup menu from the printer Control Panel, locate wireless, then restore the network defaults once again.
The perform the Wireless Setup Wizard to reconfigure.
As well, under the Wireless menu locate the IP Settings and make sure it is set to Automatic.
(It should appear under Wireless, or under Wireless > Advanced Settings)
Additionally, could be that your router SSID (network name) set as the default configuration?
As it seems like an DHCP IP address provided by your router, if your network name is some common one, try changing your network name into personal one as there might be a router with similar SSID nearby which cause a conflict.
Additionally, make sure your Mac does not have a manual IP configured:
System Preferences > Network > Select your active Wireless or ethernet and click the advanced button.
Make sure the IP Address is set to automatic / DHCP.
Say thanks by clicking the Kudos thumb up in the post.
If my post resolve your problem please mark it as an Accepted Solution

  • Auto Run off but report access via URL generates default

    Hi,
We have BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.1. I access reports via URL from another application outside BI Publisher.
For my reports, I have Auto Run disabled. Still Accessing the link via URL seems to generate report instead of waiting for user
to enter parameters and click view.
When I view report via BI Publisher, the behaviour is ok, i.e. it won't generate until I click the View button.
Does anyone know how to make sure BI Publisher won't generate report without an explicit click of View button when invoked by URL.
    Thanks
    Girija

    Hi Tim,
I am calling the report in _xmode=6 i.e. the parameters show and the view button shows.
We want the user to be able to input their parameters and run the report.
    regards

  • BIP Report access via URL in OBIEE

Experts, I want to access a BIP report via URL in OBIEE. Here are the details. I already have Answers request with 'Is Prompted' filters. I have a dashboard prompt. The request works according to the values given in the prompt. Say, the user gives some filter conditions in the prompt and the result returns 10 records. Now, due to some business requirements, I want the same result set(10 records) to be opened in a new window. For that we thought of using BIP and invoking this BIP report from OBIEE. Any ideas how can we accomplish this.
    thx,
    parag

I mean to say that....assume your first view might be pivot report, then you create a BIP report from answers and place the view just below the pivot view in the dashboard.
Globally you give those prompts ,so that when you give values....it applies to both the views in the dashboard.
Suggest the end user instead of pop up....you can view both views at a single instance :) .......Give a meaning full name for that BIP report according to what you want to achieve
    =====================================================================
    EDITED:
you can use go url for your pop-up .....but you need to pass the variable values of the prompt to the go-url so you can achieve your requirement.
let the end user pass dynamically any values multiple times but the same should be passed to the go-url to get what you want.
    ========================================================================
    EDITED
I suppose YES we need to pass all the 5 prompt values to BIP report......if user gives 3 values then it filters on those 3 values and only 3 will be passed to BIP i suppose.
Never tried this passing 3 values and next session passing 2 values.....Play around with your requirement you will achieve it.
hope all questions are answered.Mark Points.

  • KM Access via URL aborts with HTTP Error 403

    Dear experts,
i am currently working on the following problem:
    - we want to use 'KM Deep Links' to documents (open documents via URL Access)
    - when people are authenticated they can use this deep links (no problem in this case)
    - when they are not authenticated -> HTTP Error 403 is displayed
-> we want a login form to be displayed and after successful authentication the document is displayed
    - example:
         http://localhost:50000/irj/go/km/docs/documents//SAP%20Portal%20Documents/Members%20Area/Contracts%20_%20Guidelines/example.pdf
    This is our scenario:
    - Our Portal is a SAP Nw 7.0 with SP20
    - We run an External Facing Portal and therefore we have applied SAP Note 837898 (Standard Configuration in current SPS)
-> URL Access to Documents to which Anonymous Users have access works fine
    - as a test we used the 'old Content Acess Path' mentioned in SAP Note 837898, which looks like this:
         http://localhost:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/documents//SAP%20Portal%20Documents/Members%20Area/Contracts%20_%20Guidelines/example.pdf
           - this access works as desired. Login Form is prompted and after authentication, the document is displayed. Problem here  is that this Content Access Path doesn't work with Anonymous Access to KM.
So the goal is: Display Login form instead of this Error 403 Page. What configuration mistakes could we have done?
    With best regards,
    Marcus

He tried a file extension other than txt or htm/html, and he still gets the error.
He also tried fiddling with IE -- Internet Options -- Languages to remove extraneous languages, and he still gets the error.

    Hello,
I see your thread is still unanswered, were you able to resolve the problem yourself (if so can you share with others who may have the same problem)? If so can you add anymore details which may help someone else to find an answer?  Or is it ok to mark this post as assumed answered?

  • Image loading via URL with resources in packages

    And another newbie-question:
When I want to access local media-files (for example images) in a subdirectory, I can use a url to get a local path/filename. For example:
    url = getClass().getResource("/path/image-name.gif");
    image = getToolkit().getImage(url);
Now I have packaged my classes including the subdirs containing the images in a jar file.
    package.jar
    |
    -- subdir (with images)
    |
    -- a.class
    |
    -- b.class
    |
    -- x.class
Now the access via url doesn't seem to work any longer. When I subclass "a" outside the package (with correct import-statements, of course) and the constructor of "a" tries to access the images in "subdir" (invoking super()), it cannot find it and an exception occurs.
Is this correct, or does the error lie maybe somewhere else?
I had the impression that a jar-archive can be accessed like a directory? Have I to access the images in another way to get them working inside a package? When the classes and images are not packaged, all works fine.
I work with Sun One, btw., and do mount the jar-archive as a filesystem...
    Any advise?
    Thanks in advance.

Am I on the right way when using an URLClassLoader instead of getClass()?

  • Accessing NetStorage via WebDAV from Windows 7

Until last week we were running Netware 6.5 SP8. I was aware that accessing NetStorage via WebDAV (using Microsoft Web Folders) does not work on Windows 7. Now I migrated the server to OES 11 SP2 and I decided to re-investigate the issue. Currently, I still can't access NetStorage from WebDAV on Windows 7. When I try to add new network location in Windows, enter the correct URL and I'm prompted for username and password. After entering the correct password, the username/password window re-appears. On entering the username and password second time, I get error message "The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another."
Is the situation still such that accessing NetStorage via Microsoft Web Folders on Windows 7 does not work, or do I have something misconfigured?
From web browser, there are no problems accessing NetStorage.

My limited understanding is that MS seriously mangled/changed WebDav in Windows 7 and if you google for webdav webfolders and windows 7 you'll find all sorts of differing things that may be needed for things to work.
I do know that you can download the free NetDrive client software somewhere and that should work on Win7 against NetStorage.
I vaguely recall there was something special you had to do with Web Folders on Windows 7 if you wanted to use WEBDAV against FILR, so perhaps those same steps are necessary against NetStorage.
Also, are you accessing NetStorage directly, or going through a reverse proxy such as NAM?

  • ISE Guest Access- Redirect to URL after successful logon

Currently, when guest users attempt to browse they get redirected to the guest portal.  After login, they get a message that they can now access the original URL.  Is there a way to automatically redirect to the URL they were trying to access, or remember the URL after they login?

    ISE guest flow :
The user associates to the web authentication Service Set Identifier (SSID).
    The user opens the browser.
The WLC redirects to the guest portal (such as ISE or NGS) as soon as a URL is entered.
The user authenticates on the portal.
The guest portal redirects back to the WLC with the credentials entered.
The WLC authenticates the guest user via RADIUS.
The WLC redirects back to the original URL

  • External Meeting Content access Lyncweb services URL vs Meet simple URL

So im really confused, i have my 2013 lync single server front end pool, i have my 2013 edge server and a i have a ISA2006 server as my reverse proxy, i think i have traffic flowing as i want to but i seem to be running into one last issue.
The DAMN MEET URL and the EXTERNAL WEB SERVICES URL
So both of these are set to point at my reverse proxy. i can see that when i access a meet url externally via the meet url it calls the external web services url, i can tell because it fails on the certificate i have set on the reverse proxy listener for
the external meet url.the reverse proxy takes the 443 request and shoots its off to 4443 on the front end external IIS site on the front end pool and that seems to work
So what do i do? clicking the meet url is calling the external web services url, which is failing on the certificate, of course as the web listner on the RP is listening for the MEET URL, i have no intention of purchasing public certificate with a SAN for
the external web services url, that seems overkill to me, is there something im not getting here?
Do I need the external web services url? im really only wanting to be able to send meetings to clients outside our domain with no access to it to be able to connect to remote conference, which makes me ask a second question, do i really need the edge server
    in place then either?
    thanks guys!

You cannot leave the external web services FQDN out of the certificate.
While the External Web Services FQDN and the Simple URLs may not always point to the same IP in larger scaled deployments, in smaller deployments they will be the same.  But you cannot just pick one and omit the other because you feel that they are
    redundant.
Lync clients are programmed to use both URLs at different times and both FQDNs must be included in the certificate's SAN field to meet the TLS security requirement otherwise some things will not function correctly.
You also must have the Edge Server in place and correctly deployed otherwise your external meetings will have no audio, video, or application sharing capabilities.  You'll basically be limited to hosting web conferences with only whiteboarding.  You'll
also need to publish a WAC (Office Web Apps) server to support PowerPoint sharing in these meetings as well.
In short you cannot simply pick and choose which server components are deployed, you need all of them and they need to be configured following best practice guidelines to have any semblance of a successful user experience.

    HI All,
I am creating a employee detail report in crystal report. The recordset is huge and i have created a parameter prompts in the query and thinking to parse the prompt value via url parameters. Not sure why i still could not make it works.
for example, in my query panel i have created a prompt called "pwwid"

I read the sap documentation, this is how it parse the prompt value via url parameter. but it is not working for me and i am getting prompt to fill in the wwid whenever i run the reports.
