Accessing JNLP & jars from webserver through IBM TAM via Webstart

We have a swing application (running on Windows desktop) that is downloaded from a [Covalent] Apache webserver via webstart. However, when an IBM's Tivoli Access Manager (TAM) authentication server is introduced before the webserver, the webstart download fails since the TAM server is expecting the authentication ID & password. We are not clear on how webstart can provide this authentication information to the TAM server. The swing application uses JRE 1.5 and webstart version is 1.5.
Has anyone gone through a scenario like this ? Any pointers that help resolve this issue will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

    iCloud can do it..
    http://www.apple.com/au/support/icloud/back-to-my-mac/
    You need Lion and latest firmware on the TC..
    Were you hoping to use the ipad/iphone??  That maybe possible but I am not sure how.
    You cannot use windows without opening SMB to some strange port and this is going to mess with security.. you also need a static ip address from your ISP.. most private net users do not have this.
    You can do it via vpn.. you will need to buy a vpn router and bridge the TC to it.
    Just google remote access time capsule.. there are a zillion posts about it.

  • Accessing a jar from another jar

    Please help. I am attempting to access a jdbc driver in a sqlserver.jar file from my own jar file. I can run it fine from code, but when I create my jar file I get a ClassNotFoundException. I know I must be doing something wrong in my jar creation or in my jar manifest file. I am using Forte for Java if that helps. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

    Thanks for the help guys. I finally got it going. Apparently the sqlserver.jar I was referencing in turn referenced other jar files that I also needed to include in my manifest. Even though all of the jars were in my classpath, I couldn't make it run using %classpath%. Thanks again for the input!

  • ClassNotFoundException when trying to access applet (jar) from a jsp page?

    I have my applet in a jar file and I am specifying the applet tag in my jsp page as follows:
    <applet code="website.utils.DragDropUploadApplet.class" name="DragDropApp" width="17" height="17" archive="utils.jar" codebase="." ></applet>
    I tried with and without the codebase. The jar file is at the same location as the jsp page which has the above applet tag, however I get a ClassNotFoundException in the Sun Java Console in Internet Explorer. Any inputs on resolving this will be much appreciated.

    Hi mshah101,
    This can happen if the applet is compiled using an higher version of java and the browser is pointing to an older version (even if minor version number is higher)

  • SAP CRM  2007 - How to Access a Table from one view to another via ABAP BSP

    Hi experts, I need your help.
    I am working in SAP CRM 2007 developing code modifiying views using transaction "BSP_WD_CMPWB" and my problem is the following:
    After the "Account Identification" process I go to "Create Case" and click in "Complaints" option in the navigation bar.
    Here there are several views involved, like "General data" and "Parties involved"
    "General data" belongs to the component "BT126H_CALL" and the name of the view is "SCDetails.htm"
    "Parties involved" belongs to the component "BTPARTNER" and the name of the view is "Partner.htm"
    The "Partner.htm" view has a table that is displayed using a "<chtmlb:configTable . . . table = "//BTPartner/Table" instruction.
    I need to acces the table "//BTPartner/Table" that belongs to "Partner.htm" in the view "SCDetails.htm" and add data into it.
    How can I do that ?
    Add the data in the view "Partner.htm" itself is very simple, I am using the "EH_ONINSERT" method but I have not idea how to do that from "SCDetails.htm".
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Best Regards.
    Exequiel.

    Hi,
    as I understand from your question you would like to add a partner to the complaint document.
    The complaint document is a 1Order document and has the root genil node named BTOrder. Using the genil relationships you have to get the BTPartnerSet and then the right Partner Relationship.
    You will find a lot of information in the newsgroup on how to do this by doing a search.
    But a quick help would be to use the sapgui transaction genil_model_browser, component set ONEORDER and using the tree structure navigate from the BTOrder root node to the Partner set.
    Best regards,
    Erika

    Regards
    M Fazal Ur Rehman

    Excellent question. I don't see any client-jar in your EAR file structure. So I am assuming you are writing a separate client application which will talk to the ejbs deployed as part of this EAR. You need to do the following:
    Write another EAR file with the following structure:
    ear:
    META-INF/application.xml
    util.jar
    client.jar
    client.jar should have a META-INF/MANIFEST.MF and that should contain Class-Path:util.jar and value for Main-Class attribute.
    Now deploy this new ear to your application server and execute it using Application Client Container that comes with your app server.
    If you don't want to write another EAR file, then bundle th client.jar in your original EAR file.
    Points to note are:
    you have to repackage util.jar again inside this ear file.
    For portability reason, you should use Class-Path manifest entry in client.jar. Refer to http://java.sun.com/j2ee/verified/packaging.html and J2EE platform spec section #8.2.
    Hope this helps,
    Sahoo

  • Not able to access javaFx charts from a remote system after using ext. jars

    We are facing following issue. Any recommendations to resolve these issues are highly appreciated.
    1. Not able to access javaFx charts from a remote system (More details at the end of mail).This is high priority requirement as we have a web based reporting application and users access it over our static IP address.
    We are using Java Fx charts in our web application where we built jnlp and jar files in a separate fx project and kept jar and jnlp’s inside our web project.
    It is working fine when we did not used any external jar files and remotely it is accessible. But when we used external jars our project is running on local
    system but remotely it is not working due to some path settings. We modified jnlp files where entry of jar files exists and modified the jar path as per our
    project. But still it did not work.

  • Accessing Pictures from JApplet through JPanel

    Hi there!
    First of all, Thanks for giving time to read me!
    I made a game, which is in JPanel. It accesses some images from the file (JPEGs and GIFs) from local disk.
    Now, If I put that JPanel in an Applet (or JApplet), I am getting security errors of can't access files.
    I have used URLs in ImageIcons (with "localhost", "file", "filename").
    Why is that?
    Is there any way of accessing Image files from a JAR package??
    Please reply it soon, as i have to submit the game in the competition next week.
    Thanks.

    Hi there!
    One more similar problem... :(
    I want to put my Java game (created in JPanel) online through JApplet.
    I have put the images & sounds for that online. (e.g. "http://bla.bla.com/images/image.gif").
    Now if I run the program in JFrame, it is loading and working fine! But in Applet, I am getting security warnings/errors. Can anyone help please?
    Here's the sample code:
    public class Game extends JPanel {
    URL url = null;
    URLConnection con = null;
    //Constructor{
    try{
    url = new URL("http://....../image.gif");
    conn = url.openConnection();
    }catch(Exception e){/Message}
    ImageIcon img = new ImageIcon(url);
    }

  • Accessing 3rd party jars from ear.

    I was able to create a war with the 3rd party jars in webinf/lib, register it with weblogic and access them from webapps another ear, after specifying this reference in EACH of the webapps.
    However if I want to just make the ear reference these jars, ie., all the webapps in the ear access these jars, without individually specifying the reference, then it gives me an error.
    What is different with providing a reference from an EAR ? I added it to the weblogic-application.xml as the docs suggested....

    Is that part of J2EE or weblogic's implementation?

    Is there a way to put in one shot instead of modifying every .jar

    Philip Strube <[email protected]> wrote:
    Hi Sudhindra,
    you can put them in your EAR (on top level or you can create a
    directory
    for them, like "libs" or sth.), and then create class-path entriesin
    the manifest files of your WAR and ejb-jars.
    Example: if myApp.war needs myUtil.jar, then write a line
    Class-Path: myUtil.jar
    in the manifest file of myApp.war. If myUtil.jar is in libs, write
    libs/myUtil.jar and so on.

  • Access data from SqlServer through Visual Composer.....?

    Hi Gurus,
    I could able to connect SqlServer database from Visual Composer. After that, how can I access table data from sqlserver database?
    Thanks in advance....
    Ravindra.

    Ravindra,
    Here is the work around to do this. You will need to create a New System.  In the Portal go to System Administration -> System Configuration -> System Landscape.  Create a New System from PAR.  Select com.sap.portal.systems.BIUDI, click Next.  Select SAP_BI_JDBC and enter all the information that you would normally use to connect to a SQL DB using JDBC.  You can then in the VC run SQL against the tables.  Open VC, and Navigate to the iView level and go to the toolbar and Select BI -> SQL Editor.  It is pretty self-explanatory from there.

  • How to access info.plist from generate .ipa file through actionscript?

    Hi All,
    Is there any way to access Info.plist from the .IPA generated(I  created IPA file from .SWF using ADT command).
    I am trying
    var prefsFile:File = File.applicationStorageDirectory;
    prefsFile = prefsFile.resolvePath("/Applications/Info.plist");
    textId.text += prefsFile.exists + " ";
    I am getting result as false.
    Actually I need to get all the values of Info.plist information in string format from the generated .IPA.

    Hi Collin,
    The purpose is to get all the information from Info.plist from actionscript. I need to access all the information from Info.plist: like CFBundleVersion , CFBundleInfoDictionaryVersion which are all 'Reserved iOS InfoAdditions settings'(which are all auto generated). If I unzip the .IPA I can see Info.plist file with all these information. So I need to access all the values of Info.plist in dictionary format. Hence I am trying the access Info.plist by using ‘File.applicationStorageDirectory', but I am not able to get the file path.
