Accessing metadata while processing in ADS

Hi All,
I posted a topic under Document Server:
Ferd Ahmed, "Using Metadata while processing..." #, 1 Sep 2005 4:53 pm
Maybe it's more appropriate here?
Thanks

There is no such thing as node metadata; there are only custom properties.
Your loop doesn't loop any content, so that's why xshortTitle doesn't have any value. It's always going to show the label. You need to find and use some content ID in your loop, like finding out the primary page or the content ID assigned to the replaceable region, and then test for its xshortTitle using #active.xshortTitle. Hard to help since I don't know what you're trying to do exactly, but that should get you started.
To answer your other question related to custom properties tab, you'll need to create a "Manager Settings" file and select the "Custom" checkbox in the Properties box. Then just make sure your site studio manager fragment references that file.
Also, please award points as you see fit.

I am protecting a servlet running on application server 8.1 EE protected by J2ee Policy agent.
I compared all the class path of another appserver instance with the protected appserver instance. Only difference is addition of policy agent jar files:
    /opt/SUNWam/j2ee_agents/lib/am_agent_sdk_2_1.jar
    /opt/SUNWam/j2ee_agents/lib/am_agent_filter_2_1.jar
    /opt/SUNWam/j2ee_agents/lib/am_sdk.jar
    /opt/SUNWam/j2ee_agents/lib/am_services.jar
    /opt/SUNWam/j2ee_agents/lib/am_sso_provider.jar
    /opt/SUNWam/j2ee_agents/lib/am_logging.jar
    /opt/SUNWam/j2ee_agents/lib/am_as81_agent_2_1.jar
The application web.xml has the necessary filer added:
    <filter-mapping id="FilterMapping_PolicyAgent">
    <filter-name>Agent</filter-name>
    <url-pattern>/amsampleServlet</url-pattern>
    <dispatcher>REQUEST</dispatcher>
    <dispatcher>INCLUDE</dispatcher>
    <dispatcher>FORWARD</dispatcher>
    <dispatcher>ERROR</dispatcher>
    </filter-mapping>
    <servlet>
Please let me know anybody has seen similar problem and what was the fix applied.
    Thanks

    Found the problem....
I had amclientsdk.jar in my classpath prefix which caused the probelm!
    It's working now!.

  • Wierd ColdFusion erro : Error occurred while processing request.

    Hi there ,
I am a graduate student and new to ColdFusion.I started working on this already developed project by someone couple of years ago , and the client wants some changes to be done.so i went ahead and did some small modifications to the appearance of the form(insertdata.cfm page) like adding some more options to a drop down menu , changing the label names and so on and am very sure this changes would not have effected the application in any way.And the place where the message says the error can be , i didnt even touch that part. Now after 4 days i start getting this weird error saying " Error Occurred While Processing Request
The system has attempted to use an undefined value, which usually indicates a programming error, either in your code or some system code.
Null Pointers are another name for undefined values."
And this happens randomly not everytime i access the website or different webpages. Here are the errors.
The error occurred in /export/web/virtual/web3_unt_edu/cps/webaccess/sites/Amarillo/index.cfm: line 8

I tried adding " cfsqltype="cf_sql_clob"  " in cfqueryparam also on my friends advice , but it doesnt work out.

  • An error was encountered while processing images

Huge document, full of pictures and graphics. Created in Word for Mac 2011. Saved as pdf it's 38M.
When I try to reduce the size, I get an error, "An error was encountered while processing images".
    No other info. Any clues?

It would help to know what version of Acrobat. However, the better way is to probably work with the WORD file first. You might want to work on a copy so that you don't mess up the original. If you select a graphic in WORD, go to the format tab and select Compress Pictures. You might select the options and use 150 ppi or the 220. Many people use graphics with dpi in the thousands that the human eye can not see. You might also consider reducing the color depth from millions to 256 colors, or even 16 colors if a simple line drawing or such (this would probably have to be done to the graphic itself). If you uncheck the button to apply to the selected item, then the change will be applied to all figures (other than the color depth that can not be done this way).
Another item that makes a PDF huge are tags. Tags are good for accessibility or going back to WORD (not a good idea in general), but take a lot of space. For the smallest reasonable PDF print to the Adobe PDF printer (this will not create tags or bookmarks) with at least the Standard settings (not embedding fonts is typically a bad idea -- though you might want to be careful about using lots of different fonts in your DOC file). If you use PDF Maker (the Acrobat tab in WORD), you can set the preferences about tags and the level of bookmarking in the PDF. All of this can help in creating a reasonable size PDF. For such a large PDF, the print root might be best. If you are careful, there should be no need for 38M.

Since you want to use a class that is not part of your EJB environment you cant access it.
Like you said your ELUWS14 class is part of your web project, most likely to be inside a war. And the session bean inside an ear.
If you need that class on both environments (session beans and web components) the best approach is to create a JAR file and include it there. If it is going to change a lot then the best approach is to have it on your ear (EJB side), and your web components should call the session beans method to invoke operations.
Your business rules should not access your presentation layer:
EJB -> Web components Not a good idea
EJB <-> Web components Not a good idea
EJB <- Web components This is the way to go
So, web components should access classes from the ear, and not viceversa. This is why containers make ear classes accesible to web component, and not in the other way

The problem occurs with any administrator account.
    Any idea?
    Thanks a lot...

Not exactly. But following the instructions in the link you gave me, I found the KM Details iView location. I tried to preview it and a error message was returned:
    Item not found
The item you are attempting to access is not available. Check that the name or link is correct. You might also check whether the associated repository is currently accessible.
Is there anyway to restore an iView in the portal ?
    Thank you for your help.

  • Disable the update prices Tab while processing PO in SUS

    Hi,
I need to Disable the update prices Tab while processing PO in SUS.
    Please advise.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Manu

Best would be to do the following steps-->
    1) for the vendor user --> check the roles assigned
    2) for each of the role which you have assigned to the vendor user ---> go to PFCG ---> enter your role
--->  Click on display ---> go to authorization tab ---> click on display authorization data -->
find out --> SUS ---> access to documents in SUS -->
there will be one activity --> display prices ---> this should be disabled , then the button will not be shown.

  • ACE Issue - while processing merged list

    Hi guys,
After aplly the configuration, errors appeared in ACE
“jul 10 2012 19:44:21 : %ace-1-106028: warning: unknown error X while processing merged list. incomplete rule is currently applied on interface vlan120.  configuration on  this interface needs to be manually reverted”
“config application in progress. this command is queued to the system”
The configuration caused service break of several network components for no apparent reason. During about 10 minutes, which was not possible to perform configuration or rollback.
    Can you help me?
    Thanks

    Hello Luis,
Here you have the explanation of the logging message:
    106028
Error Message    %ACE-1-106028: String Incomplete rule is currently applied on
interface interface-name.  Manual rollback to a previous access rule configuration
    on this interface is needed.
    Explanation    Possible String values are:
•WARNING: Access rules memory exhausted while processing component
•WARNING: Unknown error while processing component
    Possible values for component are
    •Access-list
    •Service-policy
    •Merged list
    For example:
WARNING: Unknown error while processing service-policy. Incomplete rule  is currently applied on interface VLAN100. Manual roll back to a  previous access rule configuration on this interface is needed.
The access control list (ACL) compilation process has run out of memory,  which does not allow new ACL entries to be applied to the specified  interface. The ACL configuration downloaded in hardware for that  interface may not be in a known state because of this failure.
Recommended Action    The ACL configuration downloaded to the network processors is incomplete.  Remove and recreate the affected interface to recover to a known state. If the message is "Access  rules memory exhausted," either allocate more memory to that context or remove some of the access  group or service policy configuration to reduce the memory usage. If the message is "Unknown  error," then there may be an issue with the configuration manager or the ACL merge process.
In order to make sure about what might have happened, then it might be required to replicate the issue and then run some debugs to get more useful data and a #show tech-support
Also, there are some bugs which are also related to the syslog message which you are reporting.
    Hope this helps.
    Jorge
