Accidentally deleted SQL Cert "ConfigMgr SQL Server Identification Certificate"

Hi,
a customer accidentally deleted  the SQL Cert which is created automatically during the SCCM setup and now SCCM is not working.
Infrastructure:
SCCM 2012, CU1
SQL 2008 R2 SP1, CU7
Both Components are on the same box.
Is the certificate stored somewhere locally or what steps are necessary, that SCCM is working fine again.
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
Tom

I had the same problem (tried to copy the certificate from the server to my workstation to edit the reports, ended up moving it, loosing the private key in the process)
I was able to restore the private key using this article http://www.entrust.net/knowledge-base/technote.cfm?tn=7905
and the tool certutil –repairstore my <serial number>
just in case it happens to someone else.

  • Use custom not ConfigMgr SQL Server Identification Certificate

    Hello,
I noticed that during the database creation steps in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, the SQL server's instance gets assigned a SSL Certificate called ConfigMgr SQL Server Identification Certificate.  I currently have one that
I have assigned by our own PKI solution as I am pointing this to our SQL cluster.
Is there anyway to use my PKI issued certificate over the self-signed one that gets deployed by System Center during the installation process?  When I use my own PKI issued certificate, System Center is unable to connect saying there is an issue with
the certificate (which I know is untrue as other applications can communicate to the cluster fine with my PKI issued certificate).
    Thanks in advance!

  • I accidentally deleted an important mailbox from server. Is there a way to recover it?

    Thanks

I think I lost them, I did it from the Mail application but the Mailbox were certainly located in the server ( under ON MY SERVER) window. Moreover, Time machine was off.
So no chance of calling the internet service provider? or apple?

  • How to delete the Folder from sql server 2008

    Hi all,
I was trying to delete the folder from sql server 2008 with the below script
DECLARE @path VARCHAR(256) -- path for backup files
    DECLARE @cmd VARCHAR(8000)
    DECLARE @folderName VARCHAR(256) -- filename for backup
    SET @folderName = + (CONVERT(varchar(10), GETDATE()-7, 112))  -- 7 days back date folder name
    SET @path = 'I:\Backup_Test\' + @folderName -- Folder path
    SET @cmd = 'del ' + @path -- Delete
    EXEC master..xp_cmdshell @cmd
    --Print @cmd
This is not working it was asking the Confirmation (I:\Backup_Test\20100629\*, Are you sure (Y/N)? ) what will i do to the delete the folder.
    Thanks,
    Prasad R.

I would notice   you that T-SQL does not play well to do things like that. Do not you want using .net language to delete folders?
    Old method is
    declare @HR int, @CFOLDER varchar(255),@FSO int
        set @CFOLDER='D:\folder\'
        EXEC @HR = sp_OACreate 'Scripting.FileSystemObject', @FSO OUT
        EXEC @HR = sp_OAMethod @FSO, null, 'DeleteFolder', @CFOLDER
Now regarding to your second question please examine xp_fileexist  system stored procedure
    CREATE FUNCTION dbo.fn_file_exists(@filename VARCHAR(300))
      RETURNS INT
    AS
    BEGIN
      DECLARE @file_exists AS INT
      EXEC master..xp_fileexist @filename, @file_exists OUTPUT
      RETURN @file_exists
    END
    GO
    -- test
    SELECT dbo.fn_file_exists('c:\a.txt')

  • Hierarchy monitoring detected that the ConfigMgr SQL Server ports 1433,4022, are not active on Firewall exception

    SMS_HIERARCHY_MANAGER reports (Message ID=3353):
"Hierarchy Monitoring detected that the ConfigMgr SQL Server <fqdn> ports 1433,4022, are not active on Firewall
    exception."
This is a fresh SCCM 2012 environment with no firewall active. SQL is installed on the same server as SCCM 2012.  Is there a way to fix this without enabling the firewall?

    Check this out
    Issue:
ConfigMgr logs the error even though Windows Firewall is disabled or it is enabled and all exceptions are added to SQL Server(s).
Environment: I had an environment  consist of a two node SQL Cluster hosting ConfigMgr database and a separate ConfigMgr primary site server
    Resolution:
Windows firewall service must be started on both SQL nodes and ConfigMgr itself . As soon as the service is started exceptions for TCP 1433 and 4022 must be added to SQL nodes firewall.
After that the firewall profiles can be disabled using:
netsh advf set allp state off
This is true but if you disable the firewall even thought you have opened the Firewall port then disabled the firewall. The status message will continue to be generated and your site server will still be in an error state.
Notice that I said "disabled" and not "turn off".

  • ConfigMgr SQL Server status unknown

    Hi All,
I've a primary site server that connect to remote SQL server, then I install server for secondary site, after finish installing I check at Site System Status at my secondary server, it said for ConfigMgr SQL Server have a status

I can telnet the SQL port from secondary server. The log you mention only exist at primary server and nothing suspicious. Do I have to add the computer account secondary server to the SQL DB with same permission for primary server ?
I have another environment that have SQL+SCCM primary in same box, I have secondary server too, but at the site system status there is no ConfigMgr SQL server. Is it correct ? So I mean the ConfigMgr SQL Server only exist at the secondary server if we use
    SQL remotely ?

You don't require SQL for Secondary servers. And I don't think, you need to add secondary servers system account to SQL.

  • Problem with the SQL Data Source (Essbase server in Unix Env)

I too have the same problem.
I have setup the Datasource for an Oracle db in the Essbase Server (which is on a Unix Box) using the Oracle Wire Protocol.I tested the ODBC connection in the Server and it connect with the credentials.
But if i choose the same DSN in the EAS and try to connect i get the below error
Error: 1021001 Failed to Establish Connection With SQL Database Server.
I even downloaded a document from the Oracle site.. on the SQL interface in Essbase but i could not find the inst-sql.sh file to enable Essbase SQL Interface on the server. Is this required??
I tried with both the User & System DSN on the server but no luck.
Any help on this will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Posting in a new thread since the old one is answered and no points available to score.

It can depend on the version, it is different for version 11, further information :- How to define a relational data source in (odbc.ini) V11 Essbase?

  • How to find out who made inserts/updates/deletes made to a SQL Table

I want to know WHO MAKES INSERTS/UPDATES/DELETES TO a particular SQL Table. Bascially I want to AUDIT ANY Edites made to a SQL 2008 TABLE. I need info such as WHO AMDE THE Updates i.e. the user first/lastname, When update was made, what row was updated etc...How
can I do that with SQL 2008?

One way to achieve that would be to use triggers to detect when a change is made to the table, and then insert a record into another table/database detailing what changed and who by.
You'd need three triggers, one for insert, update and delete respectively, and for each of those you use the "inserted" and "deleted" tables (system tables maintained by SQL) to retrieve what has been done. To retrieve who made the change you can query IDENT_CURRENT
which returns the last identity value for a specific table.
    See :
    Triggers -
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/ms189799(v=sql.100).aspx
    Inserted & deleted tables -
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191300(v=sql.100).aspx
    INDENT_CURRENT -
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms175098(v=sql.100).aspx
There may be better / more up to date ways to do this, but I've used this method successfully in the past, albeit a long time ago (on a SQL 2000 box I think!).

  • SQL 2000 LINKED SERVER ERROR 7303 WITH SQL 2012 ON WINDOWS SERVER 2012 R2

    Hi all,
I have a problem with SQL Server 2012 and a linked server for SQL 2000 database.
    System specification:
    Windows server 2012 64 bit
    SQL SERVER 2012 64 bit
REMOTE SERVER SQL 2000 32 bit
I've installed sql native client 32bit,create a SYSTEM DSN odbc connection with "SQL Server" driver named "MYSERVER".
Create a linked server with the query below in SQL 2012:
    EXEC master.dbo.sp_addlinkedserver @server =N'MYSERVER', @srvproduct=N'MYSERVER', @provider=N'MSDASQL', @datasrc =N'MYSERVER', @location=N'System';
    EXEC master.dbo.sp_addlinkedsrvlogin @rmtsrvname=N'MySERVER',@useself=N'True',@locallogin=NULL,@rmtuser=NULL,@rmtpassword=NULL
    GO
but when i browse the linked server i receved error 7303.

You need 64-bit MSDASQL. It is the bitness of the server you are connecting from that matters. 64-bit executables cannot hook into 32-bit DLL.
However, I suspect that you will not get things to work anyway. At least I have not seen anyone this far who has been able to set up a linked server from SQL 2012 to SQL 2000. I know that when I tried this, the following providers had this result:
SQLNCLI11 - does not support connections to SQL 2000.
SQLNCLI10 - failed with some obscure message that I don't recall.
SQLNCLI - Don't recall that the problem was here.
SQLOLEDB - SQLOLEDB is always replaced with the most recent version of SQLNCLI, so this fails because of lack of support.
I don't think I got through all version of the ODBC drivers, though.

  • Can I create a file using pl/sql code in application server ?

    Hi
I wanted to create a file(any kind of file .txt .csv .exe etc..) using pl/sql code in application server?
Please help me with an example...in this regard

I wanted to create a file(any kind of file .txt .csv .exe etc..) using pl/sql code in application server? And how is this "file" to be delivered?
Files can be created by PL/SQL code and stored in the Oracle database as CLOBs. This a fairly easy and robust process. It runs entirely in the database. It conforms to transaction processing. The "file" (as a CLOB) resides in the database and can thus be secured via database security, is part of database backups and so on.
The basic issue is how to deliver the contents of the CLOB to the user. If via FTP, then the database can directly FTP the contents of the CLOB to the FTP server as a file. If via HTTP, the database can deliver the CLOB as a HTTP download directly to the web browser.
If the client is Java or .Net, then the CLOB contents can be delivered via SQL or DBMS_LOB or a custom PL/SQL interface.
In such cases, there is no need to step outside the secure and flexible database environment and create a physical o/s file in the wild (outside the controls of database security, data integrity and transaction processing). This is thus recommended and is the preference.

  • How can I move or delete files with PL-SQL???

I have Oracle 9i and Sun Solaris 5.8
I have a table (“TABLE_FILENAME”) with the files name in one directory. (I read the files name in a directory and put it in a table). I charge some files with external tables and then I have to move some fields to another directory and delete others files.
How can I delete files with PL-SQL and How can I move files with PL-SQL?
I have the names of files and the actions (Delete o Move) in a table (“TABLE_FILENAME”) (The files in this table are dynamics).

If you're using 9i then you will find that the new functions UTL_FILE.FCOPY and UTL_FILE.FREMOVE will allow you to do what you want. Check out the documentation for more details.

  • Execute sql script in oracle server

hi how can i run an SQL script in oracle server in every first day of the month? i dont want to run that script manually every first day of the month.

What OS and version are you running?
You can schedule this from the OS side as well if you don't want to use the scheduler.
In linux you can make use of the crontab:
    crontab -e
#then paste the following lines with the path to your scripts
    #.---------------- minute (0 - 59)
    #|   .------------- hour (0 - 23)
    #|   |   .---------- day of month (1 - 31)
    #|   |   |   .------- month (1 - 12) OR jan,feb,mar,apr ...
    #|   |   |   |  .----- day of week (0 - 7) (Sunday=0 or 7)  OR sun,mon,tue,wed,thu,fri,sat
    #|   |   |   |  |
    #*   *   *   *  *  command to be executed
    00 01 1 * * /<path to your scripts>/script_name.shThe above script will run on the 1st day of every month at 01h00.
your script (the one you are calling in the cron) will have to call the sql script and should look similar to this:
#export all your environment variables here
    # for example
    export ORACLE_BASE=/u01/app/oracle
    export ORACLE_HOME=$ORACLE_BASE/product/<your path>
    export ORACLE_SID=ORCL
    export PATH=$ORACLE_HOME/bin:$PATH
    sqlplus user/password@DB @/path/your_sql_script.sqlHope this helps

  • VCM installation help needed on SQL DB and Reporting server

    Hi All,
I'm new to VCM and now i got stuck at the SQL DB and Report server portion.
I'm running the vcm server on VM and the SQL is a physical server, both are sitting on the same LAN.
I have create the SQL DB but VCM just fail to validate the DB and report server.
I login to VCM using a Domain account for installation, and i tried to testing the DB using ODBC from the window, result fail.
    Error message as attach.
I'm now totally lost on SQL portion.
    My Question:
Is there any configuration needed on SQL DB?
How to get the reporting server to working?
What port is needed to it all working??
    VCM server Ms Win2012.
    SQL version 2012.
Many thanks to all who reply.

    Hi Simonhoo79,
For SSRS,   first check whether the report server link is accessible from your browser : "http://s01-fes-vcm1:80/ReportServer" . If you continue to get 404 error there also, then you need to reconfigure you report server first before proceeding to vcm installation. Follow the steps on below link on how to reconfigure report server using report services configuration Manager for 404 error.
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/sqlserver/en-US/75910bcb-a879-4eb7-9757-acc45201fa3a/can-not-connect-to-reportserver-http-404-file-not-found?forum=sqlexpress
    For SQL server ODBC connection,
Dont create ODBC connection for SQL Native Client. Create ODBC connection for SQL Server.
    1. Open ODBC Data Source Administrator
    2. Click User DSN tab and Click Add button.
    3. Select SQL server and click finish
    4. Give name and description and Give the SQL server name (with instance name if your using named instance) or IP in the Server text box.
    5. Click Next and select either Windows authentication or sql authentication based on your SQL server authentication mode and click next.
    6. If the details given are correct then it will proceed further and  check "Change the dafault database to" to your VCM database
    7. Click next and finish and try test data source.
VCM 5.7.2 and below will support installation only on windows server 2008 R2  and it doesn't support windows server 2012  but it support both 2008 and 2012 sql servers.
