I can telnet the SQL port from secondary server. The log you mention only exist at primary server and nothing suspicious. Do I have to add the computer account secondary server to the SQL DB with same permission for primary server ?
I have another environment that have SQL+SCCM primary in same box, I have secondary server too, but at the site system status there is no ConfigMgr SQL server. Is it correct ? So I mean the ConfigMgr SQL Server only exist at the secondary server if we use
SQL remotely ?

You don't require SQL for Secondary servers. And I don't think, you need to add secondary servers system account to SQL.

Yes I know that, so why the ConfigMgr SQL Server appear ? I'm confuse of that. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. SMS_HIERARCHY_MANAGER reports (Message ID=3353):
"Hierarchy Monitoring detected that the ConfigMgr SQL Server <fqdn> ports 1433,4022, are not active on Firewall
exception."
This is a fresh SCCM 2012 environment with no firewall active. SQL is installed on the same server as SCCM 2012. Is there a way to fix this without enabling the firewall?Check this out
Issue:
ConfigMgr logs the error even though Windows Firewall is disabled or it is enabled and all exceptions are added to SQL Server(s).
Environment: I had an environment consist of a two node SQL Cluster hosting ConfigMgr database and a separate ConfigMgr primary site server
Resolution:
Windows firewall service must be started on both SQL nodes and ConfigMgr itself . As soon as the service is started exceptions for TCP 1433 and 4022 must be added to SQL nodes firewall.
After that the firewall profiles can be disabled using:
netsh advf set allp state off
This is true but if you disable the firewall even thought you have opened the Firewall port then disabled the firewall. The status message will continue to be generated and your site server will still be in an error state.
Notice that I said "disabled" and not "turn off".

Use custom not ConfigMgr SQL Server Identification Certificate
Hello,
I noticed that during the database creation steps in System Center 2012 Configuration Manager, the SQL server's instance gets assigned a SSL Certificate called ConfigMgr SQL Server Identification Certificate. I currently have one that
I have assigned by our own PKI solution as I am pointing this to our SQL cluster.
Is there anyway to use my PKI issued certificate over the self-signed one that gets deployed by System Center during the installation process? When I use my own PKI issued certificate, System Center is unable to connect saying there is an issue with
the certificate (which I know is untrue as other applications can communicate to the cluster fine with my PKI issued certificate).
Thanks in advance!Hi,
This technet article might be of more help.

OVM 3.1.1 server status "unknown"
Hi
I am in the process of upgrading our clustered environment that consists of 6 servers from ovm 3.0.2 to 3.1.1. Three servers are on 3.1.1 and 3 on 3.0.2 with one in error status - unknown, I can't delete or rediscover the server. Please help
There is one virtual host with status unknown that I did not create on the server.
How can I delete a server with status unknown.
This problem also does not allow me to add or remove other servers.
How can I repair the cluster without restarting all.
I replaced my server name with servername
Thanks

I followed the following commands and was able to remove the server from the cluster.
Tahks again
Ran as follows:
/etc/init.d/ovmm stop
NOTE: cat /u01/app/oracle/ovm-manager-3/.config (This provides some of the info you need to connect to your db if you have forgotten.)
cd /u01/app/oracle/ovm-manager-3/bin/
./ovm_upgrade.sh fixup dbhost=localhost dbport=1521 dbsid=OVM dbuser=ovs dbpass=password
This ran fixed errors.
Restarted OVM Manager:
/etc/init.d/ovmm start -
SQL Server Status SHUTDOWN | Normal
Hi
I have one sql 2008 database .TDP backup is running for this server.now I am not able to take log backup on this server. It is failing. When I checked the database properties I found that status - Shutdown | Normal.
I am able to access this database and application is working fine and I am able to take SQL Native backup also.
Why this status showing Shutdown | Normal ?,Anybody can help me on this. Now I found one more thing.
Actually this db is in mirroring .When I checked sys.databases I found that is_cleanly_shutdown column showing value 1
How I can make it to 0 ?Restart of SQL Server will resolve ?
If the Mirroring session is active, backup is not allowed on the database. More details
here.

Accidentally deleted SQL Cert "ConfigMgr SQL Server Identification Certificate"
Hi,
a customer accidentally deleted the SQL Cert which is created automatically during the SCCM setup and now SCCM is not working.
Infrastructure:
SCCM 2012, CU1
SQL 2008 R2 SP1, CU7
Both Components are on the same box.
Is the certificate stored somewhere locally or what steps are necessary, that SCCM is working fine again.
Thanks in advance!
Regards,
TomI had the same problem (tried to copy the certificate from the server to my workstation to edit the reports, ended up moving it, loosing the private key in the process)
I was able to restore the private key using this article http://www.entrust.net/knowledge-base/technote.cfm?tn=7905
and the tool certutil –repairstore my <serial number>
just in case it happens to someone else. -
SQL query against ConfigMgr DB causing 100% cpu usage on SQL server throughout day
Hi, I am hoping someone here may have an idea of what I can do to resolve this as I am not much of a SQL guy. Here is what I know. Throughout the day, monday-friday, my ConfigMgr SQL server sits at 98-100% processor usage.
Using the following query I have narrowed down the culprit of the high cpu usage throughout the day:
SELECT p.spid, p.status, p.hostname, p.loginame, p.cpu, r.start_time, r.command,
p.program_name, text
FROM sys.dm_exec_requests AS r,
master.dbo.sysprocesses AS p
CROSS APPLY sys.dm_exec_sql_text(p.sql_handle)
WHERE p.status NOT IN ('sleeping', 'background')
AND r.session_id = p.spid
Even though my knowledge of SQL is light, I believe the following output clearly defines the thread responsible for the high cpu usage. This "program_name" is present throughout the day and as long as its there, cpu usage remains at or near 100%:
The text output of the above culprit is as follows (sorry this is long):

If anyone has any experience with this issue or anything similar and might be able to point me in the right direction, any responses would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading!Normally, this summary job every few mins which only summarize last few mins sending history. If the job was not running for long time, the first time, this sproc will summarize a lot more data than normal. So it could fail which will make things worse and
worse over time.
If sending summary data is not a big concern here, you can manually insert a dummy row with most recent time as Summarizationtime, so that, when summary job kicks in next time, it will only summary short interval data.
DrsSendHistory is that the table records every sending on every group. This table is one of the key of replication logic. For your environment, on primary site, it could have up to 24(hrs) * 60 (mins) / 2 (sync interval) * 36(secondary sites) records per
day for Secondary_Site_Replication_Configuration group and 24 * 60 / 5 * 22 records for Secondary Site Data.
Umair Khan | http://blogs.technet.com/umairkhan
Hi Umair,
Thank you for the reply. My plan was to go ahead with your suggestions but what I tried first was to get my VM guy to give the SQL server access to more CPU resources. We had already configured it with what would have seemed to be plenty, as per Microsoft's
sizing requirements, but I figured it couldn't hurt to rule out - he gave the SQL server access to a huge portion of the host processing power and since then CPU usage on the server has NOT been an issue.
It would appear that the large amounts of secondary sites we have just simply put a lot of stress on the SQL server with out of the box replication settings. Since the entire VM host is for System Center only, and our other System Center servers are using
very little resources, this solution has ended up being valid.
Thanks again for everyone's help with this. -
SCOM Reporting Server Installation Give Error The specified SQL Server instance is not valid
Hi All,
I am trying to install SCOM 2012 SP1 Reporting Server on a Windows Server 2012 running SQL Server 2012 SP1. The SQL Server also host instance for SCCM 2012 SP1 named SCCM, and not in clustered environment.
For SCOM 2012 SP1, I choose SQL instance named SCOM. At first, I successfully installed SCCM 2012 SP1 Reporting Services. I have SSRS configured to use port 80 for both SCCM and SCOM instance, and not using SSL, with IP Address settings: All assigned. SQL
Server Agent services on both instances are configured to started automatically. I could access http://scsqlserver/reports_SCCM and http://scsqlserver/reporserver_SCCM, but could not for http://scsqlserver/reports_SCOM and http://scsqlserver/reporserver_SCOM.
On OpsMgrSetupWizard.log give error
[12:24:53]: Error:
:CheckHttpAddressResponse failed: Threw Exception.Type: System.Net.WebException, Exception Error Code: 0x80131509, Exception.Message: The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error.
[12:24:53]: Error:
:StackTrace: at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()
at Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.OperationsManager.Setup.ReportingComponent.CheckHttpResponseFromSRSUrl(String httpSite)
I may continue Reporting Server installation that give no error mentioned above, if I choose SSRS instance named SCCM, but it is not supported for both SCCM and SCOM 2012 using same SSRS instance. Personal certificate for ConfigMgr SQL Server Authentication
on SQL Server has been exported and deleted. Restarting SQL Server also has been done, but no luck.
Many thanks for your help.Hello,
I'm afraid you must use a dedicated instance of SQL Server for each site(SCOM/SCCM). Some similar issues were disscussed on this forum:

Migrating SQL server 6.5 to Oracle
Does anyone know if SQL seveloper 1.5.5 work with SQL Server 6.5? i have been trying set it up, but i get the following error every time when trying to connect to the 6.5 SQL Server:
Status: I/O Error: Stream 0 attempting to read when no request has been sent
BTW, i do not hav ethe option to upgrade the SQL Server at thi stime
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advanceHi Jacques,
Just to be clear.
SQL Server 6.5 is not supported by SQL Developer or the old OMWB.
The only supported version of SQL Server, is 7,2000 and 2005 which are supported by SQL Developer.
Having said that
The old OMWB can be downloaded here
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/migration/workbench/index.html
And the old (unsupported) SQL Server 6.5 plugin can be found here

Oracle DBA team received a stack trace from our developers about an error generated by a JAVA appilcation using a WebLogic 8.1 application server and a Oracle 9.2.0.8 (RAC) database server with a Linux 2.4 OS. No database errors were logged into the database alert or listener logs, and no trace files were generated by database server on the same day. Developers are still looking for a cause.
Here is the info provided to us by the developers:

Application reportedly ran okay when resubmitted later on the same day without any other changes to the environment except a RMAN hot full backup finished before the second run. Developers have been unable to reproduce application error. Any ideas on where the developers should look for a more definitive definition of application errors? That message is a WLS-resident event. SP 2013 Server + Dec 2013 CU. Upgrading from SharePoint 2010.
We have a web application that is distributed over 7-8 content databases from SharePoint 2010. All but one database are upgradable. However, one database gives:
Invalid object name 'Webs'.
while running Test-SPContentDatabase or Mount-SPContentDatabase.
EventViewer has the following reporting 5586 event Id:
Unknown SQL Exception 208 occurred. Additional error information from SQL Server is included below.Invalid object name 'Webs'.
After searching a bit, these links do not help:

we are trying PowerShell only.
http://blog.thefullcircle.com/2013/06/mount-spcontentdatabase-and-test-spcontentdatabase-fail-with-either-invalid-object-name-sites-or-webs/
In our case, these are content databases. This is validated from Central Admin.

Our's is SharePoint 2013

Does not seem like the same exact problem.
Any additional input?
Thanks, Soumya | MCITP, SharePoint 2010Hi,
“All but one database are upgradable. However, one database gives:
Invalid object name 'Webs'.”
Did the sentence you mean only one database not upgrade to SharePoint 2013 and given the error?
One or more of the following might be the cause:
Insufficient SQL Server database permissions
SQL Server database is full
Incorrect MDAC version
SQL Server database not found
Incorrect version of SQL Server
SQL Server collation is not supported
Database is read-only
To resolve the issue, you can refer to the following article which contains the causes and resolutions.

Query to Find what SQL Server services running, what status and with what service account
I need to check what SQL Server services are running(engine, agent,IS,AS,RS,browser and Full text) and what is the present status and what service accounts are been used by them on several servers in a single shot.
Could any one help me in finding a good script for the same.I have been looking for the same thing, the issue I am running into is finding the Actual Service Name. I know this question is old, and I personally do not understand the reply.
so Far I have the following:
DECLARE @ServiceAcount NVARCHAR(128);
SET @Service = 'No Return Value'
--MsDtsServer100 (SSIS)
EXEC master.dbo.xp_regread
'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE',
'SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\MsDtsServer100',
'ObjectName',
@ServiceAccount OUTPUT;
SELECT @ServiceAccount;
I am still looking for the correct service naming for Analysis Services, Distributed Replaay Client, Distributed Replay Controller -
SQL Server 2012 Management Studio attempting to log into a SQL Server 2012 instance on a remote server using SQL Authenticated login.
What does this error mean and what can I do to fix it?
Thanks in advance!Hi Nick,
Have you seen any additionally information from Windows Event Viewer?
Based on my research, exception code e0434352 is the exception code used internally by the CLR to represent most exceptions(*), it could mean anything. If you want to find out exactly what the real error is, please review this
blog.
In addition, in such case, Microsoft .Net Framework may need to be updated or repaired on your computer. For more details, you can refer to the following similar thread.

I got the error "The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized." when I call the Reporting Service Web Service.
The code is very simple:
// Initialise the reporting service Web Service
this.RSWebService = new ReportingService2010();
// Pass windos authentication credentials to Web Service
this.RSWebService.Credentials = System.Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials;
// List children
List<CatalogItem> reports = this.RSWebService.ListChildren(folder, false).ToList();
The SQL Server is installed on a different machine (say server A) from the Web server (say server B). We are using Windows Server 2003.
The code work fine for all the scenario below:
i) Run locally (XP) to call the web service on the sql server
ii) Provide the Network Credentials with the username, password, and domain when calling the web service
iii) If the web server and sql server is using same server (i.e. not distributed)
I'm using windows authentication and impersonation. Any idea?Hi Raymond,
If I understand correctly, the issue only happens in the environment that the web server is different with the SQL Server Reporting Services server. This means the web server is a remote server of the Report Server. Windows Integrated authentication is used
in this case. When running the web page, the 401 error occurs.
If so, it is actually a double hop issue. The double-hop problem will usually only be an issue to those of you who write some sort of web-based code (a web application or web service) that uses impersonation.
To fix the issue, we can configure kerberos authentication for the web application and the SQL Server Reporting Services.
Below is a great article that has delivered many solutions to fix the issue you met:
http://odetocode.com/articles/216.aspx
Additionally, you can read the following article to know more about double-hop:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/askds/archive/2008/06/13/understanding-kerberos-double-hop.aspx
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/knowledgecast/archive/2007/01/31/the-double-hop-problem.aspx
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks Jin. I believe this is the cause of the problem as well.
I tried to register the SPN but unfortunately it still doesn't work. I'm not sure whether I'm using the correct SPN name.
I have 3 reporting server instance on the SQL box. So the Web Service URL is like
http://Server:80/VirtualDirectoryDev,
http://Server:80/VirtualDirectoryTest and
http://Server:80/VirtualDirectoryStaging .
What's the SPN I need to register?
I tried
Setspn -a http/Server:80/VirtualDirectoryDev domain\account
and
Setspn -a http/aerver:80 domain\account.
But both of them are not working :(
