  • Layout not working in IE but fine in all other browsers?

    Hi,
    I'm probably missing something very simple, but can anyone shed some light on as to why the a coloumn keeps jumping in IE but works & looks as it should in all other browsers.
    The link to the page in question is below, I have tried fixing the width and even rebuild the page but all to no avail.
    http://www.gecodesigns.com/test/touringsport/football-tours.html
    Many thanks
    Alex

    First thing - all webpages should have a doctype.  Yours doesn't.  Add one that is consistent with the code you have already used on the page (looks like HTML 4.01 Transitional).  This will prevent browsers from rendering the page in quirks mode (a bad thing).
    Second - don't use commas or spaces in file/pathnames:
    background-image: url(images/Touring%20Sport%20-%20Sports%20Tours,%20Schools%20Tours%20and%20Corporate%20To urs.jpg);
    Third - when you specify a font, do it as a family, not a single font.  In your case, a computer that doesn't have Helvetica will default to Times New Roman, which is probably not what you intended:
    .Contact_Header {
    font-family: Helvetica;
    Fourth - justified text is not very satisfactory on the web, and is harder to read than non-justified text:
    .Main_Text {
    font-family: Helvetica;
    color: #666;
    text-align: justify;
    Finally, in addition to these things, wonky code is the cause of your problems.  Here is the validation report for this page - there are many things there that need to be fixed -
    http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gecodesigns.com%2Ftest%2Ftouringsport%2 Ffootball-tours.html&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0&user-agent= W3C_Validator%2F1.2
    Also, read this about the impact of using col- and rowspans the way you have in your layout tables -

  • I can not print from Firefox, but can from all other browsers and applications (such as MS Word, notepad, etc.). I get a print error on the printing monitor like it's a spooling problem.

    This is a recent development but I can not print anything from within Firefox. The print functions open normally, it is going to the correct printer which works..I can print from other browsers and applications. It acts like it is spooling and then a print error occurs and it won't print. I closed and reopened Firefox, opened it in safe mode, cleaned out history/cache/cookies, and rebooted twice. Nothing makes any difference. Also tried printing from the print preview which had the same result. I can print from all other browsers and applications without a problem so it must be within Firefox.

  • Youtube videos suddenly will not show in IE, but are fine in other browsers

    I did an update to my website, didn't like it and backed the changes out. When I tested it in Oera, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, the two Youtube videos on my home page render fine, but when I look at the page in IE 7 or 9 I get the red X. Any ideas. The chnage I made that I backed out was my Twitter feed. I thought maybe changing the the left sidebar width affected the videos in the content are, but I have played with the sidebar width and to no avail. Any advise would be greatly aprreciated. • My webpage does not show on Firefox, but it does on other browsers

    I have a personal website, http://www.kryshu.com that I have created myself on Dreamweaver. I have 7 pages and all except one appear on Firefox. Everything was fine until a couple of months ago when I updated some of the pages, again on Dreamweaver. All of a sudden my 'Portfolio - images' page does not show anything. It is empty - blank. It had text and images. I reloaded several times but each time the 'Portfolio - images' page is blank.
    This happened only on Firefox. On Internet Explorer and Chrome the page works fine.
    So, I presume the problem is with Firefox. What should I do?

    The content is on the page, but is shifted down considerably.
    Looks that this is caused by a simple typo: height="790%" instead of height="790" for one of the tables that causes all content to get shifted down.
    <pre><nowiki><table width="672" height="790%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"></nowiki></pre>

    The following URL does NOT work in Firefox. However, it DOES work in Internet Explorer and Google Chrome:
    https://www.ascap.com/ace/
    The main ASCAP URL works just fine. The problem seems to be confined to this link alone. Please fix; thank you!

    There is a server redirect on this URL.

  • People picker is not working for ie11 but working fine for other lower version

    i am using sharepoint 2010 and windows authentication
    recently i have updated my ie to ie11 and problem goes here.
    when i try to select from people picker, there are an unexpected error happened
    however when i use other ie version, people picker work fine, what goes wrong?
    i have already added my system as trusted site
    if there any others thing i miss out?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that People picker is not working for ie11 but working fine for other lower version.
    IE 11 is known to have compatibility issues on SharePoint 2010, please make sure to:
    first of all, try installing latest update for IE 11 (several compatibility issues were fixed since the first release)
    add the site to compatibility view (in IE> Tools> Compatibility view settings> type site name> add)
    add the site to trusted sites and set the zone security level to low (in IE> Internet Options> Security> trusted sites> sites>add your site there> ok> custom level> select low> reset> ok)
    You can use developer tools (f12) and set browser mode to the version that is most compatible with your environment.

  • I have a Mac running 10.9.2. My wireless mouse with not scroll in mail but works fine in other applications? Any suggestions?

    I have a Mac running 10.9.2. My apple wireless mouse will not scroll in Mail but works fine in other applications.
    Any suggestions?

    First, see this discussion. If the solution suggested there doesn't work for you, continue.
    If you've installed a Mail plugin called "Mail Unread Menu" and you know how to remove it, please do that, then quit and relaunch Mail. Test. Otherwise, see below.
    Back up all data.
    1. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/Bundles
    Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Open
    from the contextual menu.* A folder may open, or you may get an error message that the item can't be found. Either result is normal. If the folder does open and has contents, move the contents to the Desktop. Relaunch Mail and test. If there's no change, put the contents of the folder back and quit Mail again.
    2. Repeat with this line:
    /Library/Mail/Bundles
    This time you may be prompted for your login password when you remove the items. Make sure they're removed from the folder and not just copied to the Desktop. If necessary, copy them first and then move the originals to the Trash.
    *If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
    from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • PDF files not able to view with mac os but working fine with other browers even i downloaded pdf plugins

    Hi,
    On Apple Mac i am not able to view/open pdf files even i downloaded adobe reader plugins but same thing i can open with help of other browsers like chrome. And with firefox i am getting below message when try to open pdf files.
    "It appears you don't have Adobe Reader or PDF support in this web browser. Click here to download Adobe Reader".
    I want to fix it for my client.
    So please suggest me to fix this.

    When you install or update Adobe Reader, it installs a plugin for viewing PDF files inside Firefox and sets that as the default. The problem is that this plugin does not work. In order to view PDF files again follow these steps

    Safari 8.0.2 does not play any sound (but sound works in other apps).

    Hi Michaelgst,
    Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
    I understand that you do not hear sound from Safari on your computer but you do hear sound in other applications. There may be several troubleshooting steps I would suggest to troubleshoot this situation.
    The first troubleshooting steps I would recommend would be removing any unsupported third-party add-ons. Please use the information and instructions located in the attached article to complete this process.

  • Proxy Server asking for username and password almost 6 times for every page I load, but the same doesn't happen with other browsers like chrome

    The same question keeps popping up again and again "The proxy moz-proxy://proxy.iitm.ac.in:3128 is requesting a username and password. The site says: "moz-proxy://proxy.iitm.ac.in:3128""
    Even after i give the right details, it asks me like 5 more times before it completely loads the page. Some times it happens only 2 times.
    With other browsers like chrome, it asks only in the beginning. it doesn't occur after that.
    This started occurring only recently. i upgraded to firefox 9.0 and it functioned properly for more than 12 hours before it started occuring. i tried downgrading back to 8.0.1 but the problem still continued.

    i'm afraid i need to use proxy settings to connect to internet. The settings are all fine because it used to work properly all this time. i specify the proxy address and the port, which is correct, i am very confident. it is so because the page actually loads on firefox, but not before it asks for my user name and password for it a lot of times, and for every page. for other browsers, it asks only in the beginning, that is, when i start the browser.
    i've put three pics here. under the first two settings, the third image showing the user name and password thingy popping up. this happens a lot of times for every page.

  • My Spry Accordion will not work In IE but will in Opera

    Hi Everyone,
    I'm having a problem with my accordion spry widget in a website that I'm working on. Bear in mind theres's a lot of things to fix but it's in the initial stages. What happens is, if you go under the heading, business and then training you will see an FAQ section. You'll notice that the tabs are all open and it's just not functioning correctly in IE, Chrome and Firefos but it is working in Chrome. (I Haven't tried in Safari as my computer freezes ??) I've included the link and code below.

    You not are using the latest Spry files
    The latest  version of the Adobe Spry Framework is 1.6.1, this is the same version  that ships with Dreamweaver CS4. If you use Dreamweaver CS3 (uses Spry  1.4), its wise to upgrade your files to the latest version. This can  easily be done using the Spry Updater that can be found here.
    If you replace

  • How do I make my accordion spry not "jump" or "hiccup" in IE??

    Ok, sorry you guys, I'm a newbie.
    It seems that no matter what I do, I can't get the accordion to co-operate with Internet Explorer. It has always jumped when tabs are clicked and then settles down. It's rather irritating and I would like to fix it. I've run out of things to try. Can anyone help?
    In addition, with attempts to make keep the accordion and background centered I used a div with the position centered, which worked, but only in FF and Chrome. In IE it stays far left. When I had it in a table, I could set a left: px in the class, but never figured out how to center it with a table so it would change position based on the monitor resolution. If there's a better way to do this that IE and other browsers like, please help me. If it's just IE that has the problem is there any way to make it like my code?
    If you can help me change the height of the accordion, that would be great. It seems it doesn't want to stretch out, but maybe I'm writing it in the wrong section or the wrong way.
    Another minor issue is the IE not doing the transparency I set on the tabs. I heard that they took that feature out. Is that true or is there a way to set it for IE?
    Here's what I have so far:

It can involve just about any part of the  body, but generally most people have stiffness and injuries in the back and  neck. I enjoy using this type of health maintenance to assist people like you.  Massage therapy can be used to improve many ailments such as:</p>

This is a therapy wherein pressure is applied to the  feet to encourage the body to heal itself. It's as if the feet are a map to the  body with the spine being the edge of what is known as the arch. There are key  points such as the heart and lungs, sinuses, kidneys, and intestinal tract. </p>
                   <p> </p>Reflexology has been known to also be an indicator to hidden  health issues. Many reflexologists can attest to the fact that upon finding  sore areas in the feet, the corresponding organ(s) have later been discovered  by a physician to be injured or diseased. It is not a replacement for  healthcare, but for some, reflexology has proven to be an asset to gain  knowledge of the workings of their body.<p></p>

What I recommend is that  you decide what you need treated whether it be muscle strain, stiff muscles,  stress, poor circulation etc. You can decide what kind of massage you need  based on what you decide you want massage to do for you.</p>
                   <p >If you need to de-stress, relax and do not have many sore  stiff muscles then simple relaxation massage would be good for you. If you have  a constant sore shoulder or neck then you really need a therapist that is  capable of effectively loosening those fibres.</p>
                   <p >You may be able to determine if a therapist is right for you  by talking with someone who has had a massage from that person. Otherwise, you  can sometimes judge by the type of facility in which they are practicing.  Typically a spa is going to give you strictly relaxation, although many  therapists are capable of more if you request it. A chiropractor's clinic will  often focus on rehabilitation of injured patients; more often than not they  have massage therapists that are more than capable of working deep enough to  affect injured tissue.></p>
                   <p > Communication is the  key when it comes to during the treatment in order to customize and optimize  your massage experience. Don't be afraid to speak up if you need to adjust the technique or pressure. After all, the massage is all about you!</p></div><p></p>

    You would make this a little easier if you posted a link to the page.
    Most of the jump seems to be some extra padding or margin between the tabs  when you rollover, but I am not able to find it.  Is there any other css that is governing this page? I did remove a couple of <p></p> set of tags you had  and it improved the jump, but it is still there.
    If the page is live, run it through the validator http://validator.w3.org/ , fix whatever errors it finds, if you still have the jump, post a link to the page and the issue might get found.

  • Certain webpages not loading correctly in FF, but load correctly using other browsers.

    I have noticed that some webpages are loading/rendering differently when using Firefox, but will look correct when using other browsers, IE and Chrome. I have also checked using mobile version of FF, and I have the same issue. Also tried using a different computer, exact same issue arises.
    Fore example, here are two webpages that load differently using Chrome and using Firefox:
    http://www.welovedates.com/uk/england/london/
    http://www.welovedates.com/blog/
    Here are screenshots of what I am describing:
    Page loading correctly in Chrome: http://imgur.com/urkNyH8
    Page loading incorrectly in FF: http://imgur.com/3jlC8ml
    Another page loading correctly in Chrome: http://imgur.com/Audu3qd
    Page loading incorrectly in FF: http://imgur.com/UniU7ac
    I have been searching for an answer for many hours. I have tried different suggestions made in different threads, but I have not been able to find an answer. As mentioned, I have this issue on my computer (which has Ghostery, and No-Script), I have this issue on another computer (with no additional plug-ins installed), and I have this issue on my mobile phone (also no additional plugins).
    Any help is much appreciated!

    Hello again,
    Thanks for responding so quickly.
    I have cleared Cache and Cookies, yet the problem is still persisting.
    I am not sure what you mean by, "using same log-in preferences for this site on all the devices??" The second computer is my wife's computer and she is the one who originally noted the discrepancy in the different browsers loading the same website differently. I don't know if that response helps in determining if we are using the same log-in preferences for the site. As to actually accessing the site in question, I am not logging in or anything, I am just typing the web address in and noticing it does not render the same as in Chrome.
    I have been telling her to just use Chrome and not deal with this issue, but she is having issues with Chrome and her new Windows 8 computer, in which she notices that while using Chrome, her memory usage and CPU usage are peaked at 100%, making her computer run extremely slow. Alas, that is a completely different problem for a different forum!
    Thanks,
    Alex
