  • Update GL accounts (historical data) with new Business Area values

    Hi experts,
    Situation:
One company code with multiple plants already productive w/o Business Area.
Business Area would be implemented soon to internally differenciate the company code.
    What is needed:
To update with various values the GL account balances with a proper Business Area, as required, for instance starting on a new year. Something like executing a balance carry forward and be able to add the business area.
    Purpose:
For internal analysis and reporting to be able to compare data without having to deal with historical data having the field Buisness Area 'blank' .
    Question:
Does any body knows if a tool or program is available to do so?
    Your responses are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    GG

    Hi,
this message cannot be changed (OBA5) nor a new analysis period for the costcenter is helpful if any plan / actual data is posted already in this fiscal year.
If its not only test data (which can be deleted and than the change can be done) the only way is to add the business area in cost center master by maintaining CSKS-table directly if you are allowed to do so...
If there are balance sheet items (eg assets assigned to such a cost center, the balance sheet postings from asset accounting are posted with the busines area from cost center master) you have to repost them in GL accounting otherwise business area wise balance sheet is wrong.
    Best regards, Christian

  • Not require field business area in t.code KS01

    Dear experts!
Now, I'm getting some issue about using t.code KS01.
When I use t.code KS01 (Create cost center) some fields require to enter as business area field. But I want to the fields do not require.
How do I have to do? Help me, please.
    Best regards, Huy.

    Hi Huy
Not only in cost center master, but you would also face this in other masters like Internal Order, Asset Masters etc
Go to OBY6 and check if "Bus Area wise Financial Statements" indicator is on... If you really need, keep it on.. Else, switch it off

  • Report Writer report required by Business Area GSBER  for table GLPCT  ECC6

    Please help,
I have a requirement for report writer report by Business Area (GSBER) for table GLPCT.
I am using Libruary PCA which has GSBER already activated
In report I am able to select GSBER in General Data Selection and generate.
However when I execute report I get error message GR410 "Characteristic GSBER cannot be combined with key figures" .
I have looked at SAPnotes 929889 1155524 and 358251, which describes solution to add field to CCSS table (structure CCR1S) however I cannot work out what structure to change for table GLPCT used in my report.

    Hi ,
If you are using the cube: 0FIAP_C20, then i guess you are using the standard extractor 0FI_AP_20 . One thing which i remember that there is a standard view in ECC : LFC1_AEDAT.
This view has two tables : LFC1 and BWFI_AEDA2.
LFC1 - Vendor master (transaction figures)
BWFI_AEDA2 - BW FI: Log Table for Changed Transaction Figures
This standard extractor uses table LFC1 to show vendor balances.
And the table BWFI_AEDA2 contains the log of the changes that has taken place business area wise and account no of the vendor wise .
Please check the view definition to confirm the same . Once you will see the joining conditions in this view you will get a clear picture of the above point .
So for your issue, you can do datasource enhancement of 0FI_AP_20 .
The logic will be based on LIFNR,BUKRS,GJAHR available from the datasource , fetch the business area from this view and populate it in your datasource .
But first check in the table BWFI_AEDA2 whether for the field BWFI_AEDA2-TABNAME= lfc1 , business areas are maintained .
Hope the above reply was helpful.
    Thanks & regards

  • Validation code for business area and cenvat clearing accounts

    Dear Friends,
In order to prevent the users from entering the wrong business area in the correct company code, I have written the validation as below.
    Prerequisite : BSEG-BUKRS = '1000'
    Check :  BSEG-GSBER = 'ABC' OR
          BSEG-GSBER = 'DEF' OR
          BSEG-GSBER = 'GHI' OR
          BSEG-GSBER = 'JKL'
    Message : E - 023 - Please Check the Business Area.
While trying to post Miro, cenvat clearing accounts is not picking up business area and giving an error "Please check business area" ,
I want the validation rule  not to consider or evade the cenvat clearing accounts and post the miro.
The user is also making another mistake. Ex: in the debit he should enter ABC(Business area) and in Credit also he should enter ABC (Business area). He is wrongly entering GHI which is affecting the trial balance.
Please suggest what changes to be done to the validation.

  • Business area not appearing against VAT entry in Accounting doc for Invoice

    Dear All,
    We have configured Business areas,
When we post an invoice with multiple line items and open the Accounting document for this invoice we find that Business area is visible against Freight Amount and the ,Sales  A/c but that no business area is appearing against the Vat payable amount in the accounting doc.
    Why so?
what should we do so that system determines the business area against the VAT Account also.
    Regards,
    Avinash Gyale

This could be due to two reasons
    1)  If one invoice contains multiple business areas, only blank space will appear in accounting document.  To avoid this, invoice split should happen based on business area.  Invoice split can be done through VOFM data transfer - billing document.
    2)  If a particular G/L Account is assigned in multiple Business Areas, this problem will come and you need to apply Substitution Exit RGGBS000

  • Can one business area be assigned to several company codes? how to do it?

Can one business area be assigned to several company codes?
    what are the configurations?
    thanks

    Dear Humility,
If, I am not wrong, Business Area is assigned to Company Code via Finance (i.e. NO Direct assignment, but can be used across company code). You can assign a business area to an org. object through the account assignment tab.
Business areas are generally company-code independent. You can post to them from any company code. The Business area field shows up as an additional account assignment when posting to an account as long as the field is turned on in configuration. The field can be made a required entry during posting.
If certain company codes are not active in specific business areas, you can use a validation to prevent postings to this business area from the company codes specified.
Important Transactions, related to Business Area Configuration:
    OX03     Create Business Area
OMJ7     assign Business Area to Plant / Valuation Area and Division
OVF2     Org Unit: Sales Area - Business Area Determination rule
OVF0     Org Unit: Business Area Determination rule
OVF1     Sales Area - Business Area Determination rule Slsorg/DstCh

  • Business Area not captured in TAX Accounts

When accounting entry is generated for Sales of a particular part, the Business Area which is captured in the individual Sales Order is captured in the individual ledgers, but the same is not reflected in the TAX ACCOUNTS like CST/VAT Payable. Hence, filtering of ledger accounts for CST/VAT payable cannot be done Business Area wise. There is only one common GL Account for each type of tax , say, CST/VAt Payable etc. Pls suggest the solution

    Hi,
Before executing the t.code: F.5E, you have to follow the mentioned system... otherwise u will end up with same problem.
1.First u should identifiy the gl account and balance with no business area
2.You should identify the relevant business area.
3.go to t.code: OB65 and remove the business area activation indicator(u have to do this process, when no users working on the system)
4.You should post an adjustment entry by using t.code:F-02 as below.
gl account 100000    Business area 1000,2000
    40  100000 a/c with blank business area      1000
    50  100000 a/c     BA 1000                            999
    50  100000 a/c     BA 2000                                1
If u didn't follow the above procedure, system will updated blank business area with business area in other line item.  If two business areas are maintained in two line items, then system won't updated blank business area field in first line item.
    5. Then execute the t.code:F.5E, make sure that above entry not coming in this screen.
    6. If the above mentioned process is complete, then chcek UR gl account balance in fs10n with business area wise. If everythig  was followed perfectly, then gl account balance under blank business area will be zero.
    7. Then go to t.code :ob65 once again and activate the business area indicator.
Note: first create the same scenario in development or quality, if u satisfied with results follow the same in production client.
We got this kind of issue in 2005, then we rectified this issue with the steps mentioned above.

  • Invalid Business Area in combination with company code

    Dear Expert,
I have just created a new business area, however, when doing a posting against the new business area I got prompted an error message "Invalid Business Area 7000 with combination of company code 0001". Could anyone tell me what setting did I miss?
    Thank you

    Hi...
As per your issue..i think your company is using validation for your   business area avoiding miss usage.
In this case once created new business area you have to update new business area in GGB0 T.code at company code level
So go to GGB0 and click on Financial accounting -> line item -> here select your company code and click on business area here enter your new business area and save it after that come back one step and select your company code go to Validation at menu bar select transport.
I hope it will helps you and let me know if you have any doubts
