Reason and Prerequisites
The problem is caused by insufficient identification of the sending application at the accounting interface.
Solution
1. Implement the source code from this note.
2. Start the correction reports ZTABWD_RMWQ and ZTABWD_RMWQ.

  • Item category RENN is not defined for this item

    Hey SD experts,
I've created a sales order with free of charge and standard items.
Now, I'm trying to create a return order with reference to this sales order.
I got this error message: Item category RENN is not defined for this item.
I've checked in VOV4 : the combination Sales document type + Itemcategory group =>Itemcategory seems to be correct.
Why am I getting this error message then ?
    Regards,
    Bahia.

    Dear Bahia,
Check item level copy control settings between Sales order free of charge and Return sales order i.e copy control settings between free of charge order item category and returns order itemcategory.
Once again check item category determination through VOV4 transaction for the combination of
Your returns order document type+Itemcategory group-->RENN.
I hope this will help you,

    Thanks in advance.
    Sujan

    Hi SujanB,
As your question is already answered. An indicator that defines the characteristics of a document item.
For example, the item category controls the type and scope of:
    Pricing
    Billing
    Delivery
    Inventory posting
    Transfer of requirements
    Providing further deatils ;--
    01. How item category is determined :--
Depending on the item category group that you apply & the sales doc type you are processing the system automatically proposes an item category in the document.
1.sales document type (source: order type)
2.item category group (source: material master)
3.item category of the higher-level item (source: user defined)
4.item category usage (The usage is defined by SAP and is hard coded in the programs)

  • Error msg 'Tax category UTX2 is not defined for country US' in RMDATIND

    Hello,
We just upgraded our system from 4.6C to ECC 6.0 and have been using RMDATIND (BMV0) to load new materials into SAP. This worked fine in 4.6C, but now we keep getting the error 'Tax category UTX2 is not defined for country US'. It is error msg M3019.
I'm assuming that there is some configuration change we must make, but have not found the correct one so far.
Can someone guide us as to what changes we must make to be able to load new materials into our SAP system without getting this error message?
      Thank-you,

  • Message no. V1321 - Item category ALES is not defined for this item

    Hi,
I am trying to use ALES - Item Category for creation of the Sales Order. But i am getting this eerror message as Item category ALES is not defined for this item. Please let me know the config changes that i need to do to use this Item Category.
    Thanks in Advance !!

To maintain the item category for a sales order type first you have to assign the item category in SPRO.
    SPRO>Sales & Distribution>Sales>Sales Documents>Sales Document Item>Assign item categories.
In the screen Change view Item category assignement:overview screen
select your sales document type + ItemcategorygroupUsageHigherLevel Item category
Then you have to maintain Default item category and Manual item category.
Default item category will be proposed by the system when you enter a material in sales order. You can change the item category to any one of the manual item category maintained above.
For e.g.: You are creating a thrid party sales order. Default item category is TAN, if manual item category is maintained as TAS for this combination of sales document type + ItemcategorygroupUsageHigherLevel Item category and then system will allow you to change item category to TAS. If this is not maintained then system will give you an error as"Item category TAS is not defined for this item".
Again depending the item category further acitivites will be carried in SAP, like in third party item (TAS) PR screen will be displayed.

  • EDM: item category D is not defined (check entry)

    Dear all,
I'm setting up eDM and I keep getting the error "item category D is not defined (check entry)" during the creation of a document. This error is occurring with every document type, in every directory, every physical document, etc...
The strange thing is, that if I try to create a document in SAP using CV01N (and I fill out the same data), it creates the document without any error.
I tried to search for more information on this error, but there is none available. Has anyone encountered the same problem or does anyone knows how to resolve this error?
    Kind regards,
    Samuel

Have you tried creating hierarchies in DMS? When you create a document in EasyDMS it creates a document hierarchy so you must replicate this to see if there error is occuring in SAP.
Have you tested to see if its an authorisation issue? I.e. test the same with SAP ALL/SAP NEW?

"Item category IRIN is not defined for this item."
I want to know where and how is the link between Item Category and Material is maintained
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Nitin

    hi
i am not a expert , based on my knowledge system will determine the item category for line item , based on  vov4 , here you will give the
sales document typeitem category groupusage+higher level item= default item category
or                +            leis               +  sein  + enter over item= irin
    this is for determination ,
in the material master  you will check the item category group , sale view tab 1, 2,  and also basic data.
based on this will take , line item , item category . so sales view and basic data view item category group are same , other wise system sows this is error message ,
    please check this

  • 'Item category SUBC is not defined for this item'

    Hi,
When i tried to create an SO with item category SUBC, the system pop-up this error msg: 'Item cateogry SUBC is not defined for this item'
Please let me know what should i do?  Thank you.
I've maintained the item category assignment with same item category group maintained in material master data..But it still not work...

    Dear Laa,
This is due to not done the itemcategory definition and determination. So
First you define the itemcategory  SUBC through VOV7 transaction (By copying standard TAN)
Then do the itemcategory determination through VOV4 transaction for this combination
    Sales document type+Itemcategory group--->Itemcategory
Itemcategory group is different from itemcategory.
Itemcategory group maintained in the Material master data
The item categroy will get determine in the sales order based on Sales document type+Itemcategory group
I hope this will help you,

  • Vendor payment doc type KZ looking for account type A which is not defined

    Hi Experts
We are processing a Vendor payment where discount is received, howeve,  the message "For document type KZ, account type A is not defined'  in the job log.
Can anyone please put some light on this error.
    Many thanks
    Kind regards
    Dawn

    Hi,
T-code OBA7: there it is defined which doc. type is allowed to use which acount types.
SAP standard for KZ is to use vendor + GL account types.
So check your document that you are going tro post or, if you think its ok, post the same document in a test client and enable doc. type KZ in OBA7 to be used with asset account types to view the result of your posting.
    Best regards, Christian

  • Getting Account Assignment Category D error

    Hi,
Create network parameters in sales document (SD)
You can make the default settings required to create a network from a sales order in the menu options Basic data -> Standard structures -> Parm. SalesOrd->Ntwk (Parameters for sales order -> network).
If you do not enter data here, you can also enter the necessary data online directly in the sales order.
The data in the material master actually controls whether a network can be created from a sales order item. To set this up, you should enter the core information like (assembly type, order type (i.e. network or order type) configuration, account assignment category) in the requirements class for the material. The requirements class is determined by the strategy group (see above) which was maintained in the material master.
Therefore, if you want to be able to create a network while working in a sales order, you must have maintained the corresponding MRP data or strategy group for the material being sold.
    Standard settings
SAP has predefined the following strategy groups:
83: Assembly processing with network, account assignment category E (assignment to sales document. A network with network type PS05 (header assignment) is created.
85: Assembly processing with network/project, account assignment category D (assignment to project). A network with network type PS04 (activity assignment) is created.
In both cases, the system automatically creates a network with network type PS04.
    Recommendation
Do not change the default settings that SAP provides in Customizing. You can use these defaults to set up your own strategy groups, requirement types etc. and specify other network types or other settings for the availability check.
    Note
When values are missing from the sales order item, such as the plant, the system cannot determine the requirements type which means that it also cannot create a network from the sales order.
In order to have the scheduled dates in the network be copied into the sales document as confirmed dates, you must have maintained scheduling parameters for network type PS04 and PS05 in Customizing.
Keep this in mind when you define your own network types.
Among the scheduling parameters to be maintained, you should set the indicator reconcile basic dates .
You must set this indicator if you want the system to copy the scheduled dates into the basic dates and then pass them on to the sales order as confirmed dates.
Hope this will resolve your problem.

  • New account assignment category for GR Non Valuated

    Hi Friends,
I want to make a New account assignment category for GR Non Valuated. I created the same in SPROMMPurchasingAccount assignmentMaintain account assignment categories.
    I selected followig:
AA Changeable at IR - X
    Consumption account -V
    Acct modification- VBR
    ID: AcctAssgt Scrn- 1
    Distribution - 1
    Partial invoice- 2
    GR- Non Valuated - X
GR non Valuated. Frim - X
After this When I am trying to create a PO with above made Account assgn cat. it is giving a Error that
"With non-valuated GR, please also enter GR indicator"
When I am clicking on GR indicator in Delivery tab, it also selects GR-Based IV in Invoice tab.
I want to have GR to be selected automatically in Delivery tab & GR- Based IV not to select in Invoice tab.
    How to do this ?
    Regards,
    Sai Krishna

    Hi ,
In this case you may not enter the account modifier VBR . See as there is no GR posting you don't need it . But it is useful to determine the account in PO. For example if you maintain account modifier in your account assignment category you need not to enter the G/L account at the time of creating PO in account assignmnet Tab. If will be automatically picked . But if you are not maintaining the account modifier in account assignmnet category then you have to enter the account manually .
So choice is yours whether you need an account modifier or not depending on your scenario.
    regards,
    Anupam

  • Non stock material - Account assignment category Q

    Dear All,
I have came across a strange situation.
For non stock material, qty update and value update is un checked in configuration.
When I am trying to create PR or PO for non stock material, system is giving an error for account assignment category.
    Upto this, everything is fine.
Now when I am entering account assignment category - Q, system is allowing me. Further ahead, when I am doing GRN, stock is also generated which is against the SAP standard practise. Because stock should be consumed for non-stock material.
However, for other account assignment category, system is not generating stock and directly consumes the material.
Once stock is generated, system is also not allowing issue of this material, because qty update is unchecked.
Would request you to please help me. Do I need to do any configuration in the system for this.?
    Please help.
    Thanks & Regards,
    MP

    Hello,
Thank you ver much for your inputs.
But the problem is, how come stock generated for a material of material type "non-stock material". As per standard practise, non-stock material should be directly consumed and can not come in stock.
Problem comes only when we use account assignment category - "Q". For other account assignment categories, stock is getting consumed.

Edited by: akausar on Mar 4, 2011 2:46 PM

    Hi,
02000 is a Customer Item category and 0300 is related  to vendor transactions. Try adding Customer Item category 02000 in business transaction 0300.
    SPRO-Financial accounting (New)-General Ledger Accounting (New)-Business Transactions-Document Splitting-Extended document splitting-Define business transaction variant.
Select Vendor Invoice-0300 and assigned Item categories, then enter Business transaction 0001
    Enter Customer Item category
If you want document splitting based on customer relating to this business transaction, then do this step also
Add Item category 80000 in business transaction 0300/0001 in Define document splitting rule.
    Regards,
    Radhika.
