Non stock material - Account assignment category Q

Dear All,
I have came across a strange situation.
For non stock material, qty update and value update is un checked in configuration.
When I am trying to create PR or PO for non stock material, system is giving an error for account assignment category.
Upto this, everything is fine.
Now when I am entering account assignment category - Q, system is allowing me. Further ahead, when I am doing GRN, stock is also generated which is against the SAP standard practise. Because stock should be consumed for non-stock material.
However, for other account assignment category, system is not generating stock and directly consumes the material.
Once stock is generated, system is also not allowing issue of this material, because qty update is unchecked.
Would request you to please help me. Do I need to do any configuration in the system for this.?
Please help.
Thanks & Regards,
MP

Hello,
Thank you ver much for your inputs.
But the problem is, how come stock generated for a material of material type "non-stock material". As per standard practise, non-stock material should be directly consumed and can not come in stock.
Problem comes only when we use account assignment category - "Q". For other account assignment categories, stock is getting consumed.
Thanks & Regards,

  • Non Stock Material for Projects

    Hi Gurus,
While doing MIGO for non stock material in case of projects (Category Q), system is giving error which says Account Determination not possible.
Please tell me what setting missing in OBYC for projects.
    Thank You

    Hi,
Non stock material is consumed during receipt ie Goods receipt is goods issue also and you need not do goods issue seperately. Non stock material cant have category Q as it is Project <i><b>stock</b></i> category. The account assignment should be P.

  • Account assignment category Q and G/L account mapping during purchase order

    Hi,
When we procure stock for account assignment category Q,then it will trigger G/L Account
Please can any one tell me where it will maintained

    Hi,
If you select Account Assignment Category as "Q" then the time of GR, it will post the Materials received value to stock account and will update stock of material against the Project.
In OME9, here for Account Assignment Category "Q", check field Consumption posting has value as "P" (Accounting via project), that means stock account will get determined from OBYC for Account Key BSX

  • Account assignment category F not showing in PR & PO for stock material.

    Dear All,
I have created one breakdown maintenance order in that i have planned one stock (L) material, for this reservation is created.
Then i have run mrp by using tcode md03 for that material.......pr is generated.
Now when i am going to convert this pr into po, system dosen't show account assignment category for this pr as "F"
Also when i see in change pr tcode me52n.........._system dosen't show account assignment category as "F"_
Actually system must show account assignment cateory as* "F" in pr & while converting pr to po.*
How i can resolved this issue. Any config setting is to be done kindly give the step by step procedure.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sandeep

    Hi,
When you select L stock Item that means the material will come under stock at stores. And then goods issue will be done against your reservation.
Coming to account assigned PR as F order then when GR is done agaist PO the material is directley isued to the order. From MRP system only checks agaist that material what the requirement and what is available stock, if short fall exists then it will generate PR with out any account assignment based on material master setting.
For ex if for the same material requirement has come from 4 orders then which order no system will consider to generate a PR.
    Hope it is helpful.

  • Account Assignment Category in Rework Order for non valuated material

    Friends,
We created non valuated material for rework. I want to accumulate the rework cost. When i am trying in CO02 = Header = Settlement Rule where the category is MAT but I want it to be ORD.
How that category is changed to ORD, so that I can able to accumulate cost with respect to order?

    Hi,
Whether you are creating the rework order with material? Actually rework order is supposed to be created without material with transaction CO07. Here in this case you have to define the account assignment category ORD in settlement rule.
In some cases to meet the requirement we can create the rework order with material also through transaction CO01/CO08, but in this case the account assignment category will be MAT by default. Therefore you cannot change it to ORD.
Hence you need to create rework order to have account assignment category ORD w/o material only.

  • Material No. Mandatory with account assignment category K

    Dear,
Can i make Material No. Mandatory with account assignment category K
    Please advise
    Rami

    Hi,
It is not possible to make material number mandatory for Account Assignment Category.
But you can make Account Assignment mandatory for a material if material is non-valuated (Mat Type - UNBW) or Non-stock (Mat Type - NLAG)

  • PO: Default Account assignment category per material?

    Hello,
The requierement of my company is that some materials are purchased for stock and some others for Cost center. But at some point they want to move some of the materials of "cost center" into "stock". So materials will be  "looking" the same in questions of views created, etc.
So it would be good if there is a way to default the account assignement category by material. Any idea? User-exit?...any possibility totally standard of doing this (withouth enhancemnet/user-exit)?

    Hi,
It can be done by having two doc. types in the PO one for the stock and the other one for the consumption. No need for the two material types.
In doc type xy -account assignment is disabled, in the other doc type XZ the account assignment is enabled.
Also using the user exit ME_PROCESS_CUST, you can define the condition against the doc type.

    Hi,
       Please look into this issue
System allowing me to create the PO with combination of Account Assignment category"Q" and "Test material(With out Material code)",but it is giving error message while posting the GR(Account determination error)
In this scenario I am expecting the error message should appear while creating the PO it self, how to block this combination?
    Regards

    Hi Hari
check in SPRO what account modifier is assigned to Acc Assn categ. Q, then in OBYC check in GBB if a G/L account is assigned against selected account modifier.
i have got this idea from a solution provided by YOGESH and STEVE in the below thread:

  • GR non-valuated indicator controlled by the Account Assignment Category

    Dear Gurus,
In standard customizing, is it possible to do a configuration so that the GR non-valuated indicator in the PO  is controlled by the Account Assignment Category. For example:
    1. For Acct Assignment Category = A (Asset), the GR non-valuated indicator is disabled (grey out)
    2. All other Acct Assignment Categories, the GR non-valuated indicator is enabled (not grey out)
    Appreciate your kind feedback.

Which checkbox or radio button specifically ?
It's not the 'GR non-valuated' checkbox or the 'GR non-val binding' checkbox right ?
I can't find any radio button for 'GR non-valuated' so that I can set it to 'display' or 'hide' either.
Perhaps I should elaborate a bit more:
Disabled = Box is grey out = Non Modifiable = Cannot tick even if you wanted to, Cannot untick even if you wanted to
Enabled = Box not grey out = Modifiable = Can tick if you wanted to, Can untick if you wanted to

  • GR non valuated ticker in account assignment category

    Dear Experts,
A customer have set up their own account assignment category. In this they have both the "GR non valuated" and "GR non valuated firm" ticker set.
I cannot see that this makes any difference to having only the GR non valuated firm ticker set?
If the "GR non valuated firm" ticker is set, you always have to have GR and also always non vaulated GR
With "GR non vaulated", you have to have non valuated every time to do GR (but it is optional to do GR)
So, if you have set the first, setting the second makes no difference?
    Am I right?
    rgds
    GAR

    Hi,
They are completely different setting (for different purpose).  Once both indicators are set in OME9 for your related AAC, then when you are maintaining PO with such AAC, the GR-non-valuated indicator will be set defaulted and greyed out (i.e. you can't be able to deactivate).  If only GR-non-valuated indicator is set, then this indicator checkbox will be defaulted (but not greyed out) and therefore, you can change if you wish to.  Yet, these settings are not relevant to the case of raising multi account assigned PO as in this particular case, SAP will automatically set the GR-non-valuated indicator checkbox regardless of if you have made any settings in OME9.

  • Purchase Requisition / Order: Account Assignment Category for material type

    Hi,
When creating a PR or PO for one specific material I would like the system to propose a specific account assignment Category for this material. It shouldn't allow the user to change this account assignment category.
Is it possible? How should I proceed?
    Thanks in advance.
    Luis.

I dont think there is any standard procedure for doing this.
My idea would be to use a user exit say EXIT_SAPLMEREQ_010 for PR and a similar exit for PO and code a Error message check for Material type and account assignment combination.
For ex : EXIT_SAPLMEREQ_010 is a exit which is called during check in a PR . SO when the user enters a combination of Material type and Acc assignment u can check for the requirements.

  • New account assignment category for GR Non Valuated

    Hi Friends,
I want to make a New account assignment category for GR Non Valuated. I created the same in SPROMMPurchasingAccount assignmentMaintain account assignment categories.
    I selected followig:
AA Changeable at IR - X
    Consumption account -V
    Acct modification- VBR
    ID: AcctAssgt Scrn- 1
    Distribution - 1
    Partial invoice- 2
    GR- Non Valuated - X
GR non Valuated. Frim - X
After this When I am trying to create a PO with above made Account assgn cat. it is giving a Error that
"With non-valuated GR, please also enter GR indicator"
When I am clicking on GR indicator in Delivery tab, it also selects GR-Based IV in Invoice tab.
I want to have GR to be selected automatically in Delivery tab & GR- Based IV not to select in Invoice tab.
    How to do this ?
    Regards,
    Sai Krishna

    Hi ,
In this case you may not enter the account modifier VBR . See as there is no GR posting you don't need it . But it is useful to determine the account in PO. For example if you maintain account modifier in your account assignment category you need not to enter the G/L account at the time of creating PO in account assignmnet Tab. If will be automatically picked . But if you are not maintaining the account modifier in account assignmnet category then you have to enter the account manually .
So choice is yours whether you need an account modifier or not depending on your scenario.

    Anupam

  • Non-stock material assignment in task list

    Hello members,
Can I assign non-stock materials in task list????
    If yes then how???
    Thanks
    Warm regards
    Rajat

    Rajat,
You cannot directly assign a non stock material to the task list. But you can include the non stock material in the BOM for the assembly(In case of General task list) or Equipment /FL object BOM.Once its included you can then select these non stock items into the task list component screen.

  • PP-MM-FI integration for Non-Stock material consumption

The client is expecting a simple solution for a Std SAP process which is LIKE subcontracting....but actually not.
The requirement is to set up a process of external operations using a NonStock (NLAG) material ( which will have no physical stock updation when GR is done). This material is a part of BOM with item category N. The material will have S price control. ( Must from business requirements). PR gets created from process order --> converted to PO --> then 101 and simultaneous automatic consumption gets debited to order. (with a price = PO price). PO has a account assignment F and item category blank Standard).
Question - This behaviour is not desired. The "Std cost" should be used in posting a consumption posting..& the rest ( PO price less Std price) should be shown as purchase price variance in a different acount. How to customise this break up ? Is there way in MM pricing conditions or something else ?.
Pl note that there is no stock entry...only consumption will be debited with GR offset at PO price. Also at invoice verification, the price if different should be posted to price difference account ( which is not assigned to process order...it is directly going to COPA).
Might be a very simple SAP solutions / answers from MM /PP......so that we avoid the ABAP development for reposting..
    Could somebody help pls ?
    Regards
    Ram

    Hi,
Since Material is Non-Stock Material so it is must to maintain the Account Assignment Category in PR or PO for this Material. And once you maintain the Account Assignment Category in PO and do GR w.r.t. this PO then it will not consider the Material Master Price (Standard Price) since there is not any Stock Account Entry during GR, it will hit the Expense Account. And Price Difference Account will get debited only if Stock Account will come in picture.
    So following Accounting Entry will get generated;
    During GR (MIGO);
    Expense Account - Dr
    GR/IR Clearing A/c - Cr
    During LIV (MIRO);
    Vendor Account - Cr
    GR/IR Clearing A/c - Dr
