ACE 4710: Possible to allow a user to clear counters but nothing else?

Hello all,
Using an ACE 4710 we have a user setup with the Network-Monitor role which allows the user to view config, interface status, etc. We would also like to allow this user to clear the interface error counters as well, but nothing else. Is this possible?

Hello Brandon-
Network-Monitor only lets you browse outputs, it is a not a role that allows a user to make any changes including clearing stats. You can create custom roles and domains to get closer to what you want, but you cannot zero in on a single command like that.
i.e.

You can create a permit or deny rule, within that, create/debug/modify/monitor each feature seperately.
Domains allow you to create containers for objects. You can place specific rservers, serverfarms, etc. into it - then apply it to a role so that the user assigned to it can only touch those objects.

i have an existing GUI tt allows user to key in records of information eg, patient records in a hospital system.

seems like few ppl know how to use it well..
API doesn't seems to show how i can use it to reach my objective.
anyway, i hope the user can highlight A attribute of a record and not highlight the entire record..
tt's why i find it soo cumbersome to have another Color object created for each atttribute.

patientId, patientName, etc.....

Several Swing components understand HTML tags, eg JLabel, which is VERY useful, as in the previous example.
Are you asking "how do I highlight a field" or "how do I make it remember the color it has"?
As Color is itself Serializable, why not store your data in a Hashtable not a Vector?

One way by creating dummy resource, he will raise a request but no approval will be triggered (if you want then you can modify).
In the provisioning workflow call the OIM APIs.

Possible to allow the user to navigate to form sections using a dropdown?

I am designing a realtively long PDF form that has many sections.
I am hoping that I can create a TAG inside the PDF form that I can reference using drop downs that the free Reader will support
The desired functionality is :
User activates drop down - selects the section they want to see if it is not already visible - and the reader moves them to that location -
so they can read the data at that location -
Can you please help me by indicating :
1. Is this possible ?.
2. Where I can find a useful example for doing something of this sort ?

Fundamentally, you have two possibilities:
a) create Named Destinations where you want the user to get to, and then make your drop so that the destination name will be defined as return value, so that you can go to it.
b) define the first field of a section, and put its name as return value in the drop down (aka combo box). Then set the focus to that field.

Allow local user to install software but deny logon

So my requirement is that regular users are not allowed to install software on a computer, but if they want to install they could if an admin would come and enter admin username and pw on popup after they try to install something. Also 2nd requirement is
that admin user is not allowed to logon locally. So i figured i'll create local admin and deny him logon locally but then when try to install software it tells me that i don't have required logon right to do this action. Is there a way i could achieve this?

You first requirement can be satisfied by configuring UAC.
you second requirement can be set in security options. I would NOT recommend denyiong logon to the group administrators. instead you should create a custom (AD) group to contain your administrators. make it member of the local administrator group(s) (posibly
using 'restricted groups' GPO) and deny log on as you like through user right assignment (also possible by GPO)

Single-user but nothing else

I have a friends IMac that has been send back from the repair shop - not repaired
It turns on with the chimes and proceeds to the apple logo then flashes black and then stays on a grey screen.
I have tried safe mode - grey screen
Verbose mode - grey screen
Reset nvram - no change

Boot via dvd - no access

Allow certain users to capture quotation after bid end date

Is it possible to allow certain users to be able to capture quotation on behalf of suppliers using surrogate bid after the end date has been reached but before the opening date? How would I do this?

As the end date and opening date are at the header level common to all bidders/vendors, we cannot manually capture quotation for specific suppliers using surrogate bidding. I dont think there is even a BADI for this.

How can I allow multiple users to edit a single shared iCal calendar?

Is it possible to allow multiple users to edit a single shared iCal calendar? I also want to provide different permissions to those users. Is this possible through .MAC? Is it possible on Mac OSX Server?

I would like 2 agenda synced through .Mac but it does not work.
I have 2 computers and 2 laptops. A very simple agenda with 3 calenders. Myself my partner and the office calender. I want to publish my calender and that of my partner. The office calender I would like to sync so that we can change the office calender at any location.
I set up sync only for iCall and have a .Mac account. When I change anything on any of the calenders in iCall nothing happens on any of my other locations. Even though the locations are registered as synced. I can see the sync wheel turning but at the end of it the calenders are not synced.
At this moment I fully understand the publish and unpublished calenders but have no clue what so ever what syncing does for iCall. There seems to be no functionality to it. It does not transport any calender info over .Mac. There is no visable check to see what is happening and the process of syncing is not transperent. Lots of my friends go to me for advise on Apple issues but as far as sync wether iCall or Addressbook I always tell them sync does not work and I have no clue why others have it working. I haven't met any people here in Holland either that got in working. I suppose with iCall you have to get third party software to share calenders editable calenders. Really hopeless situation, wish Apple would just have a manual stating what sync can do and what it can not. Hours wasted on this issue trying to get it to work.

Allow Other Users To Edit The User Portal

HI all,
Is it possible to allow another user to modify my User Portal without making them a full Admin?
Out HR Dept. would like a tab for their content and would like to edit it themselves.
I'm not keen as they would probably hose the entire site.
Any ideas if this can done?

Hi - I believe the issue is related to java versions. I experienced the exact same problem, and the issue was removed.
Several small issues in Java Report Panel with unintended behavior is very often related to too old java versions.

I dont think that this is possible for all the attributes as most of them will be standard.
But for custom attributes the case can be controlled from the domain.
Check this thread where users experienced problems with the case of the text.

Here too...user cannot be restricted, but after a server event system takes care of case conversion.

Is it possible for the end user to make changes to business processes?

I'm investigating Oracle's BPEL Processor Manager and BPM technologies for a large project we are going to do. The client wants to be able to change/create new business processes which would mean different web services being called in different orders after different amounts of time.
Is it possible to allow end users to change business processes in a SOA environment with a portal using Oracle's offerings. This would eliminate JDeveloper & the designer and the need for knowledge of the underlying architecture.
The only way around this would be getting users to edit the business rules but that would only work in a linear environment with lots of decisions won't it?

I will leave your real question to be answered by product folks.
BPEL does have capabilities that let you change how a given process will execute. For example, it's normal to have a process that will react differently depending on an incoming message (CancelMessage processes one way, SubscribeMessage does something else, ...). You can have the partnerlink that is invoked be selected based on a variable, a rule, a message element, a property in a property file or a preference set in the BPEL console. However, these all fail to answer your original question, because they require the original designer to code it all, not giving someone the capability to add a new WSDL on the fly with JDeveloper.
You can also overlay endpoints, like if the user is in California, send to the west-coast server instead of the east coast. There is (was?) a tutorial about overlaying WSDLs.

User Control screwed up but unable to click on icons with Mouse on OSX 10.8

I dont know what has happened, but today user control with mouse and trackpad on my macbookpro is screwed up.
I rebooted twice, it made no difference.
The trackpad moves the cursor okay, but I cannot get tapping or clicking the trackpad have any effect.
With my mouse I can access menubars, but the left and right buttons are swapped round, or it might be that the right button is acting as both left and right button.
I then went to the System Preferences screen to try and fix the mouse preferences, but clicking on any icon with left or right button has no effect.
I then found no icons of that type seem to work, I thought Id try and just update OSX with any updates available hoping that would fix anything that has got corrupted. But although I can get to the Appstore Update screen and there are two updates available I cannot get the updates installed. Clicking with the left button does nothing, clicking with right button changes the colour of the button slightly so the bottom half is in gray but nothing else happens.
As there is no menu option to install the updates I thought I tried and install the updates using the keyboard but I cannot work out how to do this.
Does this sound like a hardware or software problem

Possible to allow user to select XNET DB?

I'm writing an application to create a test sequence incorporating user-selected CAN commands. I want to allow the user to select the XNET DB file while the application is running, but this doesn't seem to be possible, at least not as far as I can tell. I have already successfully written all the parsing code I need, now I just have to figure out how to let the user choose the DB file.
Any ideas? I'm looking into the Generic 'Create Session' approach right now, but I don't know if that's going to work.

Under the XNet palette there is a palette for database control. Generally what I do is delete the existing database on startup, clear the error (incase no database with that name exists) then add that database back with the path to the file that the user provides. This way the user just replaces the DBC file (or whatever) and the application uses the new one. There are all kinds of other things you can do with the database editing palette too.

Business cases:
1. different level nodes need to have different prefixes.
- Thus, the default prefix property definition uses the level number to assign a prefix
- Also, a validation, to ensure the correct prefix, uses the level number
But if the user can create a child and a sibling then the default prefix will only be right for a single case and not both.

If the images are exactly the same size then make sure the layer with the mask
is the active layer and in the other documents go to Select>Load Selection and choose
your document with the layer mask under Source document and under channel choose the layer mask.
After the selection loads press the layer mask icon at the bottom of the layers panel.

ACE 4710: Config Allows all traffic except large HTTP downloads

Hi Folks,
Got an ACE 4710 with a basic config that seems to work for all traffic except large downloads.
I've attached the current config
As I mentioned I can do normal HTTP to a standard destination like google or SSH through the ACE or ICMP
If i try to get a large file from the server side of ACE, then a trace shows that the first and subsequent 1460Byte packets dont go through ACE
I've thought of parse lengths, but i cannot see any that seem to affect the generic L4 maps that I am trying to use

I've seen a similar fault. I suppose a lower MSS was sent in the TCP SYN handshake packets (1300 or 1380?) and the packets exceeding that value were dropped by the ACE. This is the default behavior which can be switched to a less strict mode by either
exceed-mss allow
or
no normalization
commands.
In our case, a linux web server was whose replies wouldn't keep to the MSS limit.
