Ace Logs from url or serverfarm

We are doing analysis on  blocking the source IP's, the actual usage from this source IP's, to what URL's,
authenticated / non  authenicated etc
is there any solution to trace out the User requests & url response from particular farm behind the source nat
referring the below discussion for my problem , can it be helpful for me
ACE: how do I check what status code does URL returns

Hi Anand,
The short answer is no. You cannot get this information from the ACE because it doesn't include any transaction logging feature
The thread you were mentioning was regarding probes. For those it's actually possible to see the last return code returned by the server, but the ACE will neither show you this information for client connections.
I wish I could provide you a more satisfactory answer.
Best regards
Daniel

    I cannot ping any VIP from within the ACE or from rservers.  Is this expected?  I have rservers in other serverfarms that need to be able to communicate with the VIP of other serverfarms.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks for you reply.  here is the config.  I removed other rserver and serverfarm config that does not have to do with this issue.

  • How to write to windows event logs from determinations-server under IIS

    This is just an FYI technical bit of information I wish someone had shared with me before I started trying to write OPA errors to the windows event log... Most problems writing to the windows event log from log4net occur because of permissions. Some problems are because determinations-server does not have permissions to create some registry entries. Some problems cannot be resolved unless specific registry entry permissions are actually changed. We had very little consistency with the needed changes across our servers, but some combination of the following would always get the logging to the windows event log working.
    To see log4net errors as log4net attempts to utilize the windows event log, temporarily add the following to the web.config:
    <appSettings>
    <!-- uncomment the following line to send diagnostic messages about the log configuration file to the debug trace.
    Debug trace can be seen when attached to IIS in a debugger, or it can be redirected to a file, see
    http://logging.apache.org/log4net/release/faq.html in the section "How do I enable log4net internal debugging?" -->
    <add key="log4net.Internal.Debug" value="true"/>
    </appSettings>
    <system.diagnostics>
    <trace autoflush="true">
    <listeners>
    <add
    name="textWriterTraceListener"
    type="System.Diagnostics.TextWriterTraceListener"
    initializeData="logs/InfoDSLog.txt" />
    </listeners>
    </trace>
    </system.diagnostics>
    To add an appender for the windows event viewer, try the following in the log4net.xml:
    <appender name="EventLogAppender" type="log4net.Appender.EventLogAppender" >
    <param name="ApplicationName" value="OPA" />
    <param name="LogName" value="OPA" />
    <param name="Threshold" value="all" />
    <layout type="log4net.Layout.PatternLayout">
    <conversionPattern value="%date [%thread] %-5level %logger [%property{NDC}] - %message%newline" />
    </layout>
    <filter type="log4net.Filter.LevelRangeFilter">
    <levelMin value="WARN" />
    <levelMax value="FATAL" />
    </filter>
    </appender>
    <root>
    <level value="warn"/>
    <appender-ref ref="EventLogAppender"/>
    </root>
    To put the OPA logs under the Application Event Log group, try this:
    Create an event source under the Application event log in Registry Editor. To do this, follow these steps:
    1.     Click Start, and then click Run.
    2.     In the Open text box, type regedit.
    3.     Locate the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Application
    4.     Right-click the Application subkey, point to New, and then click Key.
    5.     Type OPA for the key name.
    6.     Close Registry Editor.
    To put the OPA logs under a custom OPA Event Log group (as in the demo appender above), try this:
    Create an event log in Registry Editor. To do this, follow these steps:
    1.     Click Start, and then click Run.
    2.     In the Open text box, type regedit.
    3.     Locate the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog
    4.     Right-click the eventlog subkey, point to New, and then click Key.
    5.     Type OPA for the key name.
    6.     Right-click the new OPA key and add a new DWORD called "MaxSize" and set it to "1400000" which is about 20 Meg in order to keep the log file from getting too large.
    7.     The next steps either help or sometimes cause an error, but you can try these next few steps... If you get an error about a source already existing, then you can delete the key.
    8.     Right-click the OPA subkey, point to New, and then click Key.
    9.     Type OPA for the key name.
    10.     Close Registry Editor.
    You might need to change permissions so OPA can write to the event log in Registry Editor.  If you get permission errors, try following these steps:
    1.     Click Start, and then click Run.
    2.     In the Open text box, type regedit.
    3.     Locate the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog
    4.     Right-click the EventLog key, select Permissions.
    5.     In the dialog that pops up, click Add...
    6.     Click Advanced...
    7.     Click Locations... and select the current machine by name.
    8.     Click Find Now
    9.     Select both the Network user and IIS_IUSERS user and click OK and OK again. (We never did figure out which of those two users was the one that fixed our permission problem.)
    10.     Change the Network user to have Full Control
    11.     Click Apply and OK
    To verify OPA Logging to the windows event logs from Determinations-Server:
    Go to the IIS determinations-server application within Server Manager.
    Under Manage Application -> Browse Application click the http link to pull up the local "Available Services" web page that show the wsdl endpoints.
    Select the /determinations-server/server/soap.asmx?wsdl link
    Go to the URL and remove the "?wsdl" from the end of the url and refresh. This will throw the following error into the logs:
    ERROR Oracle.Determinations.Server.DSServlet [(null)] - Invalid get request: /determinations-server/server/soap.asmx
    That error should show up in the windows event log, OR you can get a message explaining why security stopped you in "logs/InfoDSLog.txt" if you used the web.config settings from above.

  • Capturing the LOG OFF url click action in a Webdynpro application

    Hi,
    I have this requirement where I need to know when the User logs off in a webdynpro application.
    I have several webdynpro applications, each independent, and each need to do some clean up tasks when the user clicks on the LOG OFF url in the portal login.
    Is there some standard event attached with the LOG OFF Url of the portal login?
    And could anybody please specify when exactly would the  <i>wdDoExit()</i> method of the application view(s) or the application component controller get's trigerred when the application is run from the portal login?
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Swapna Priya.

    Hi Luciano,
    I was successfully able to call the RFC from wdDoExit() method of the component controller.
    Also I could successfully place a custom alert call when the user clicks on the LOGOFFurl in the portal browser.
    Now I have one more pending requirement for me to completely use this cycle of events.....The Portal Browser close action i.e., 'X' action.
    I did find a forum link with some code for the same but i did not understand where to place that code and have already raised a reply for hte same.
    Below is the link:
    /message/230174#230174 [original link is broken]
    Do you have any idea about how to trap this?
    Thanks for all your support

  • Logging persistent url not working on 1921

    Hi All
    I am unable to configure logging persistence on a 1921.  Is this due to the internal arrangement of flash memory and the fact it is present as usbflash0:/ and not flash:/?
    I understand logging buffered needs to be configured first and I have done that.  I am running 15.1(4)M6 and here is what happens when I try and configure this feature:
    On a 1921:
    Router(config)#logging persistent url ?
    % Unrecognized command
    Router(config)#logging persistent ?
      batch      Set batch size for writing to persistent storage
      filesize   Set size of individual log files
      immediate  Write log entry to storage immediately (no buffering).
      notify     Notify when show logging [persistent] is activated.
      protected  Eliminates manipulation on logging-persistent files.
      size       Set disk space for writing log messages
      threshold  Set threshold for logging persistent
      url        URL to store logging messages
      <cr>
    On a 1941:
    Router(config)#logging persistent url ?
      flash0:  Filesystem name
      flash1:  Filesystem name
      flash:   Filesystem name
    Any ideas?

    Single Sign-on and single sign-off methods are much different in 10g family of OAS than from those in 9iAS.
    There are internal redirections involved in 10g family, and 10.1.4 has even a little more different method of login and logout than even 10.1.2.0.2.
    You will have to notify your logout page in WWSSO_LS_CONFIGURATION_INFO$ in the orasso schema.
    hi
    1. i cant find table WWSSO_LS_CONFIGURATION_INFO
    only WWSSO_LS_CONFIGURATION_INFO_T and
    WWSEC_ENABLE_CONFIG_INFO$
    was should i do ?
    You will have to notify your logout page in WWSSO_LS_CONFIGURATION_INFO$ in the orasso schema.
    2. do i have to create a customised logout page?

  • Download image from URL with applescript

    I want to download an image from an website (and internal IP address) using applescript,
    now I have found a script that works (Download jpeg image to folder with AppleScript from URL).
    But, the web page requires a username and password...
    When I convert the downloaded JPEG into a HTML by simply changing the extension, quick look displays the webpage's 401 unauthorized error page...
    Does someone know how to make the applescript input the username and password?

    The answer depends on how the authentication is managed.
    There are two common ways of implementing authentication in web browsers and knowing which one is used here is essential to scripting the request. One is also significantly harder than the other.
    The first (easy) way is that the username and password can be submitted with the request. This is the original model and is easy to script - if you're using the curl model then it's just a matter of adding the -user switch to the command line:
           -u, --user <user:password>
                  Specify the user name and password to use for server authentica-
                  tion. Overrides -n, --netrc and --netrc-optional.
    This model is a little less secure, though, but might still be used on internal sites since it's easy to implement.
    The other option is that the site uses cookies - you log in via a web form and the server gives your cookie which you then send with subsequent requests and are used to validate your access. This is a more secure, but is harder to implement because there is a multi-step process - login via the web form, capture the cookie, submit the cookie with the download request.
    If you're not familiar with the different methods it can sometimes be hard to tell which one you need, and since it's an internal site there's no way anyone else can check... so you'll need to describe how you login to the site (or are prompted for authentication) before anyone can provide a direct answer.

    Hi Ajay,
    when you upgrade to sec mon 2.0.1, the database is the same, but the formats are different.. you need to do somethings for converting these formats, which might take hours together, if ur database has too many events...
    for information to convert the file format, refer to this URL:

  • ACE logging hassle - GLBP m-cast denies...

    Need some ideas:
    Have a pair of ACE's in front of a data center application.  The outside interfaces are properly denying GLBP m-cast traffic from the attached pair of 6509's on the same VLAN.
    2/14/2011,10:04:11 AM,10.147.254.2,???,LOCAL4,WARNING,:%ACE-4-106023: Deny udp src vlan2577:165.201.107.195/3222 dst undetermined:224.0.0.102/3222 by access-group "Public" [0xffffffff, 0x0]
    2/14/2011,10:04:11 AM,10.147.254.2,???,LOCAL4,WARNING,:%ACE-4-106023: Deny udp src vlan2577:165.201.107.194/3222 dst undetermined:224.0.0.102/3222 by access-group "Public" [0xffffffff, 0x0]
    These messages or normal and expected but the denies fill up the ACE log to the tune of 30MB per day. I've looked at...
    To tune out specific syslog messages:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/app_ntwk_services/data_center_app_services/ace_appliances/vA3_2_7/configuration/system/message/guide/config.html#wp1069411
    ACE Syslog message guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/services_modules/ace/v3.00_A2/configuration/system/message/guide/messags.html#wp1145672
    ...but it appears if I tune out this syslog message 106023, I lose all deny reporting - don't want to do that.
    Here is the existing ACL-list:
    access-list Public remark Inbound Traffic
    access-list Public line 1 extended permit icmp any any
    access-list Public line 10 extended permit tcp any any eq https
    access-list Public line 11 extended permit tcp any any eq www
    I really don't want to recommend passing this m-cast traffic through the ACE, no purpose for it behind the ACE. Nor do I want to slow down the GLBP hellos just to solve a log record annoyance.
    Any ideas on how I can reduce or eliminate these deny messages from the ACE log withough losing all deny visibility?
    Thanks,
    m.

    Still no joy on this one, but there was some faint hope with the solution below for ASA FW's that I got from engineering inside Cisco (Not TAC). Unfortunately, the ACE does not support the required 'shun' command. Thought I would just post the ASA solution in case folks run across this issue in other environments and maybe, just maybe, we can get the shun command on the ACE.
    Shunning allows you to black-hole or refuse particular traffic at an interface based upon source-destination addressing.  This action would also be logged, but with 'shun' you can also assign a unique SYSLOG ID to the shunned traffic and so tune it out completely from the logging. If it doesn't, then there is no elegant solution.
    So, check out whether the ACE has the shun command available  in it. If it has the command, then the following should apply:
    Possible workaround-
    shun 10.17.84.2 239.192.2.0 2222 2222
    That way you'll get different syslog message ID for shun traffic and you can disable logging for that traffic by-
    no logging message

  • Can not read data from URL!

    Hello,
    I want to read data from URL (http://84.100.130.82:8000/;stream.nsv). But can not do it. Because when try to call function openDataInputStream() shows this error: java.io.IOException: response does not start with HTTP it starts with: ICY. How I can fix this bug?
    HttpConnection c = null;
    InputStream is = null;
    OutputStream os = null;
    StringBuffer b = new StringBuffer();
    String           response,

    // receive output
    while ((ch = is.read()) != -1)
    b.append((char) ch);
    response = b.toString();Regards, Ramunas

    Hi, Im trying to do the same as above, get MP3 from a Shoutcast server.
    I got the same fault ("response does not start with HTTP it starts with: ICY") when I tried to open an HttpConnection as bellow:
    ============================================
    HttpConnection conn = (HttpConnection) Connector.open("http://64.236.34.196/stream/1074");
    Then I tried to open a socket connection as bellow:
    ======================================
    SocketConnection conn = (SocketConnection) Connector.open("socket://64.236.34.196:80");
    String get = "GET /stream/1074 HTTP/1.1";
    DataOutputStream os = conn.openDataOutputStream();
    os.writeUTF(get);
    InputStream is = conn.openInputStream();
    But then I got the following error:
    =========================
    java.lang.SecurityException: Target port denied to untrusted applications
    Could someone help me to find out what is going on?
    Thanks a lot!

  • How do I use the Parameters from URL to filter on Content Query in ItemStyle.xsl?

    Hi, I might need your help with code that Content Query under <xsl:Template...> that I need a filter for 3 parameter from url (from date, to date(for date range) and type.
    eg: www.mywebsite.com/pages/Filter.aspx?DateFrom=01/01/2012&DateTo=01/01/2013&Type=sports
    I've google for help and not sure they seem working so far.

    Hi,
    If you want to filter a Content Query Web Part with the parameters from URL, we can achieve it with OOTB of Content Query Web Part by adding "Additional Filters" in "Web Part Properties"->"Query". We can add
    three filters like:
    date is greater than [PageQueryString:DateFrom]
    And
    date is less than [PageQueryString:DateTo]
    And
    type is equal to [PageQueryString:Type]
    Then redirect to the URL: www.mywebsite.com/pages/Filter.aspx?DateFrom=01/01/2012&DateTo=01/01/2013&Type=sports, the query results will be filtered.
    Please reply freely if I misunderstand your meaning or there any other questions.

    How would you then integrate URLDecoder.decode in the following code?
    IWDProtocolAdapter protocolAdapter =
         WDProtocolAdapter.getProtocolAdapter();
    IWDRequest request = protocolAdapter.getRequestObject();
    String param = request.getParameter("param");

    Hi,
    Add this line inside your run() method, right before your call to repaint():
    if (image != null) {image.flush();}Hope this helps,
    Kurt.

  • How to play .wav file from URL in web browser embed

    Hi;
    I want to play a .wav sound file in embed default media player in IE. Sound file is on some HTTP location. I am unable to sound it in that player.
    Following is the code.
    URL url = new URL("http://www.concidel.com/upload/myfile.wav");
            URLConnection urlc = url.openConnection();
            InputStream is = (InputStream)urlc.getInputStream();
             fileBytes = new byte[is.available()];
             while (is.read(fileBytes,0,fileBytes.length)!=-1){}
    BufferedOutputStream out = new BufferedOutputStream(response.getOutputStream());
             out.write(fileBytes);Here is embed code of HTML.
    <embed src="CallStatesTreeAction.do?ivrCallId=${requestScope.vo.callId}&agentId=${requestScope.vo.agentId}" type="application/x-mplayer2" autostart="0" playcount="1" style="width: 40%; height: 45" />1. If I write in FileOutputStream then it plays well
    2. If I replace my code of getting file from URL to my local hard disk. then it also works fine.
    I don't know why I am unable to play file from HTTP. And why it plays well from local hard disk.
    Please help.

    You'll have to ask the devleopers of sencha and phonegap.

  • Failed to read wsdl file from url

    Hi all,
    I am struggling with WL 9.2, consuming a WSRP enabled portlet at the following point:
    Having created a proxy portlet, refering to the WSDL of the WSRP producer, I did successfully deploy the portal. When accessing the portal and consuming the portlet the following exception is thrown:
    com.bea.wsrp.faults.TransportException: Failed to read wsdl file from url due to -- java.net.ConnectException: Tried all: '8' addresses, but could not connect over HTTP to server: 'www.w3.org', port: '80';
    The WSDL includes a schema (http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema). The URL is definetely accessible by the server.
    I am open for any kind of support ;) Thanks in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Matthias

    Yes, they are all local schemas. The way ALSB works, even if the import path in the wsdl or parent schema doesn't exist, relative to the current directory, you can specify which schema resolves that reference. My WSDL imports several schemas, all of which import others. When I was done importing all the schemas and resolving references, all the references in WSDLs and XSDs were assigned and valid. However, after all of those imports and reference resolution, it still says the WSDL is invalid, with the following odd error message:
    The WSDL is not semantically valid: Failed to read wsdl file from url due to -- java.net.MalformedURLException: no protocol: /XMLSchema/PaymentServices/Resources/PaymentServices-200802.
    That path listed refers to one of the schemas imported by the WSDL. The reference to that schema in the WSDL was resolved, and it doesn't complain about that reference.
