ACE4710 started to continuously reboot

Hi, one of our 2 ACE boxes in FT group suddenly reboot-ed from active state and now it continuously reboots with the following error:
insmod: error inserting '/isan/bin/klm_octeon_device.klm': -1 No such device
error inserting /isan/bin/klm_octeon_device.klm
Daughter Card Not Found. Rebooting..

We are currently running SW version A1(8.0a). The only solution/workaround to be found on the web is from the Cisco release notes, which says:
Workaround: Upgrade to the c4710ace-xxxx.bin software image to resolve the rebooting issue.
But how to upload the image, if the system doesn't boot....anyone?
Thank you!

Hi,
I have the same problem, anyone know how to fix it?

  • My Mac G4 came unplugged while running and now when I start it up all I get is a continuous reboot loop.

While sliding my Mac G4 tower out from under the desk it came unplugged. It was running at the time. After plugging it back in all I get is a continuous reboot loop. I have tried the Shift and the Command Option P R boots to no avail. What am I missing here? I have had no problems in the past with this system. I am running Panther.

I have tried the Shift and the Command Option P R boots to no avail.
Are you using an Apple keyboard or something else. It is rather common for non-Apple boards, especially those pulled from a PC, to not respond to the traditional Apple startup key command combos.
Take the computer off wall power again then press and hold the power button for about 20 seconds. Then restore power and try a normal start. That worked for me when I had a similar failure to start with my G4 MDD.
If you have never replaced the internal backup battery ("PRAM" battery) it is, by, now surely extremely dead and it could not preserve the needed start parameters when power was unexpectedly cut. If you get the computer going, consider installing a new PRAM battery so you won't replay today's issues. tomorrow. The batteries are cheap and replacing one is a three-minute at-home job:

  • Fix for continuous reboot after installing Service Pack 3 in Windows XP

After contacting HP Technical Support and speaking to a supervisor we were able to solve the problem of Windows continuously rebooting after installing SP3. Here are the steps that fixed the problem with my HP Pavilion running on an AMD processor. The steps are actually fairly straight forward and easy....
Issue: The computer reboots continuously after installing Windows XP service pack 3
Computer reboots continuously after installing Windows XP service pack 3 on AMD systems. The problem is that with some configurations, SP3 causes the computer to crash during boot, and Windows XP, by default, is set up to automatically reboot when it crashes. That is why you end up in the endless rebooting scenario.
    Cause:
On HP computers, the same Windows installation disc image for Intel processor based PC's is deployed for the AMD processor based computers as well. Because the original installation image for both Intel and AMD is the same, all have the intelppm.sys driver installed and running. That driver provides power management on Intel-based computers. On an AMD-based computer, amdk8.sys provides the same functionality for power management.
    Symptoms:
Ordinarily, having intelppm.sys running on an AMD-based computer appears to cause no problems. However, on the first reboot after a Service Pack 3 installation, it causes a big problem. The computer either fails to boot, or crashes with a STOP error code of 0x0000007e.
You may not see the error code because the computer reboots too fast. In order to get the error message, you need to set an option during startup. To do so, open the windows advanced menu by tapping the f8 key on startup. Then select the "Disable automatic restart on system failure" option.
    Solution:
If you have an AMD-based computer, however, you do not need the intelppm.sys driver and can disable it. There are three methods in order to do this.
Step 1: Please try to log on the system in safe mode.
    1. While using Safe mode open the command prompt....  Start, All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt
Run the following command in the command prompt just like it's typed: sc config intelppm start= disabled
    Step 2:
If the issue persists, please try to log on or boot the system in recovery console (refer to the web document)
    2. Using recovery console:
If you booted into the recovery console, from a command prompt, type: disable intelppm
Step 3: Please check in registry.
    3. Using windows registry:
    1. Run regedit
    2. Click on HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
    3. From the File menu, select "Load hive"
    4. Navigate to %systemdriver%\Windows\System32\Config on the dead system and select the file name System
    5. Name it something you can remember, such as "horked"
    6. Navigate to horked\ControlSet001\Services\IntelPPM
    7. Double click the Start value and set it to 4
    8. If you did what I did and completely messed things up by running a disk check previously, navigate to ControlSet001\Control\SessionManager. Open the BootExecute value and clear out the autochk entries.
    9. Repeat steps 6-8 for the other control sets.
    10. Reboot

For future reference: Service pack 3 Installation steps:
Before installing the service pack 3 update, please follow the steps listed above and save yourself much time and effort.
To uninstall service pack 3, I suggest that you uninstall it from add/remove programs.
    Step 1:
Uninstall service pack 3 from add/remove programs:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Select Run.
    3. Type appwiz.cpl in the run field.
    4. Click OK.
    5. Click change or remove programs.
    6. Select the program -service pack 3 that you want to uninstall or remove.
    7. Click Remove button.
    8. It will pop up the message stating that "Are you sure you want to remove the programs".
    9. Click Yes. It will help you to remove or uninstall the installed programs from add and remove programs.
Step 2: If the issue persists, I suggest you to perform system restore and then try to install the service pack 3 after performing the steps mentioned above in regards to removing the intelppm.sys Driver.

    the AMD computers.
Used method 1 and it cleared the problem instantly, many thanks for the post and the time and effort it took to dig up the answer..

  • Router continually reboots

    hello,
I am pretty sure this qusetion has been asked a thousand times before but why does my router continually reboot?
If I just browse the internet and not use any applications that require a lot of connections all is fine. However, soon after starting a bittorrent client or uploading a large email the router decides it is going to reboot itself.
It isnt only internet traffic that causes this either, if i stream to my PS3 the same problem occurs, however the problem does not exist when sending files between 2 PC's.
I know this should all work fine as I was on Virgin Media before BT and never had any problems using the same configuration.
I have got a HH 1.5 with software 6.2.6.H and it is the second homehub i have had with exactly the same symptoms so i dont fancy calling the helpline only to be fobbed off and have it replaced with another one.
As an alternative can somebody please reccoment a good compatable router that i can buy so that i can chuck the BT kit where it belongs in the bin.
To give an idea how annoying this is I asked my wife to keep an eye on it and count how often she notices the router reeboot while she is using it and it has been 18 times in 2 days.

Generic setup instructions below for Netgear, similar for any other ADSL router.  Details also in HH manual.

If your chosen router will not accept blank password just type anything in.

  • My iPhone 5s continuously reboots

My iphone 5s continuously reboots and I cannot find my serial number.  This started when I was downloading an app from itunes.  It seems I cannot contact apple without the serial number, I have my IMEI number but not the serial number.   I have tried the 10 digit numbers on the micro card but they do not seem to work as the serial and the SIM carrier has no numbers.

You can find your serial number on the packaging/box of your iPhone 5s. It's located at the bottom. Also search in iTunes (on your PC/Mac) for it.
    Hope this helps.

  • C6180 continuously reboots

I replace an ink cartridge yesterday closed the printer, now the unit continuously reboots. Checked all connections and cables, moved it to a different outlet, no change. Unplugged for a few hours plugged back in and no change.

This same error started occurring on my printer and eventually it would constantly power on and off. Apparently some defective components were used in the construction of the logic board (see photo). On my C6180 there were 3 failed capacitors (the green cylinders - the puffed top indicates failure) and a 4th from the same manufacturer (TEAPO - many unfavorable web references to this manufacturer). I purchased 3x 330uF 16V and 1x 680uF 10v rated to 105 degrees Celsius (total about 60cents). On the logic board, the capacitors I replaced are labeled C613, C614, C660 and C662. If you are not comfortable replacing the parts yourself (or don't have a soldering tool), you will have to find someone who will. The time to repair should be less than 30 min - I did it in 25 min with only a solder pen. This also fixed the ink system failures the printer was having. A similar fix may apply to other printers.

  • Continuous rebooting

I removed an app through the advanced settings / applications menu. It asked me to reboot. Now my phone has been continuously rebooting. I have removed the battery several times, once for over two hours. I have also did a manual reboot (left alt + right shift + backspace). Nothing is working.
Has anyone seen this problem and / or resolved id?
    Thanks in advance.

  • IPod Continuous Reboot

i have a 60gb 5g iPod that I have owned for about 2 years. last night, when I was switching artists that i was listening to, the HD started making its seeking noises while it was spinning and refused to switch to the other track. this had happened to me before, so i rebooted the iPod and went back to the main menu but showed that i had NOTHING on the iPod - all of my music and videos were gone.
so, i proceeded to restart it again and plug it into my laptop. the ipod was recognized briefly by iTunes and i started backing up everything off the iPod thinking that the HD was going bad. after copying about 100 megs of stuff off of the ipod, the copy stopped and the ipod restarted.
now the ipod is stuck in a continuous reboot loop, backlight off and apple logo on the screen. i am able to get this into disk mode but it is not recognized by my computer. i can also put it into diagnostic mode. i can feel the HD spin up but it just wont boot into the iPod OS or be recognized by iTunes (in either disk mode or normal mode). there is not rockbox or iPod linux installed on my ipod nor have i done anything with iPod Wizard
so... is the HD bad? i do not get a sad mac or a folder icon when turning the ipod on.

I'm having the same problem with my ipod, i guess my best bet is to take it to the apple store

  • 2 node rac cluster - continuous reboot

i have semi-successfully installed oracle clusterware on 2 nodes........... had trouble with the last screen running root.sh and orainstRoot.sh (whatever).
Now, what i have is the continuous reboot of 2 nodes............... i have tried restarting them at exactly the same time but the 1 node reboot as soon as you log in to the node.......... the other node just reboots at some stage.
    So, how to resolve ?
I am using openfiler 2.2; enterprise linux 5.0 installing oracle 11.1.0.6.
I am following the instructions as posted on the otn.oracle.com website.........
My last step was to deinstall the clusterware software as it had issues during final stage of starting ONS and GND (or whatever). I had to reboot after removing the software and that is when continuous reboot cycle started.
    Any help appreciated.....
THIS IS JUST A DEMO SYSTEM but still i would like to get it working as quickly as possible.

I think Your system reboot.., Because CRS on Oracle Cluster Software had the problem... you should check logs at $ORA_CRS_HOME/log/<nodename>/*/ ... (about heart beat)
If you have problem reboot ... when you removing software ,you have make sure you stop RAC processes
ps -ef | grep init | grep crsAnyway If you don't need to RAC processes start, when you restart server...
You should comment on /etc/inittab file ()
    #h1:35:respawn:/etc/init.d/init.evmd run >/dev/null 2>&1 </dev/null
    #h2:35:respawn:/etc/init.d/init.cssd fatal >/dev/null 2>&1 </dev/null
    #h3:35:respawn:/etc/init.d/init.crsd run >/dev/null 2>&1 </dev/nullOr disable...
    10gR1
    /etc/init.d/init.crs disable
    /etc/init.d/init.crs stopabove 10gR2
    $ORA_CRS_HOME/bin/crsctl disable crs
$ORA_CRS_HOME/bincrsctl stop crsAbout Your System reboot, when on Oracle Cluster... You should check log... , HeartBeat (Interconnect and Disk (CRS File and Voting File))
    Anyway Contact Oracle Support
Finally, You should installed RAC... If you find system reboot ... You should disable crs, and then investigate the problem (Check Log $ORA_CRS_HOME/log/<nodename>/crsd/*)
    Good Luck

  • MSExchangeSA and IS is not starting automatic at reboot after upgrading the server from SP1 to SP2

I am running a 2 node DAG with separate Hub & CAS servers
I have already upgraded the Hub CAS server and they are fine
    Exchange running on Windows 2008 R2 SP1
All are in VM-Ware ESXi 5.0
After I upgrade the mailbox server to SP2 the SA and IS service not starting automatic after reboot
If I run "net time /set" command and then restart ADtopology server, the IS and SA starts fine
But again after reboot they do not start
Also I get the below event in the app log when the IS & SA fails to start

If I check the Registry for time resource it is taking from the DC
I manually compared the time between DC and Exchange and it is fine
Since the Exchange mailbox is virtual, I checked the time sync on VM-Ware tools and it is "unchecked"
Checked for group policy and do not find any specific to time sync.
Confirmed that Windows Time service is running
Suspecting a Operating system issue, tried to upgrade the other DAG
Even that node is displaying the same symptom and Issues
Tried to install RU1 on both nodes and that too did not fix the issue.
Checked with VM-Ware engineer and he said that every thing from VM-Ware end is fine
Is Anyone have come across the issue before ?

Exchange 2010: Unable to initialize the Information Store
    Problem:
Unable to initialize the Information Store service because  the clocks on the client and server are skewed.   This may be caused by a time change either in the client or the server,  and may require a reboot of that computer.   Verify that
your domain is properly configured and  is currently online.

Open a cmd prompt from the Exchange Server as administrator (right mouse click on the command prompt shortcut and select “Run as Administrator”)
    Run this command

Restart the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology Service
*Important!! You have to restart the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology Service or this fix will not work..  I tried just starting the Information Store service after running the command it it still failed..
This worked for me and all is well on my exchange server.

  • Problems with Mini--continued reboot after update

I recently was given a Mini to play with. I was having some issues with it when I first received it. I read some forum posts and some other non-apple related help files on the internet. I finally got the Mini to work correctly, at least I was able to get to the menu screen and get the Mini recognized by my computer. When iTunes recognized my new ipod I was told to update the software, I did. The update that was "needed" was 1.4.1. I went ahead and downloaded this update. I was then told to plug the Mini into the wall outlet to make the update complete. I did this as well. I left the Mini plugged into the wall, using the Apple AC adapter and the provided USB connector. The Mini flashed the apple icon then the "plug into the wall" icon. I left the Mini plugged in overnight, I had no idea how long it would take to finish the update. The next day I tried to plug the Mini into my computer and I got a message telling me that my ipod might be corrupt and I should reset the ipod back to original settings. I tried that.
Now, as I type this, I have the same Mini plugged into my computer and it does not register as a USB device on my computer and itunes does not even recognize that it is connected. The Mini seems to be caught in some kind of rebooting loop. The screen continually reboots, going from the apple icon to the "plug in" icon. I don't know what else to try, besides throwing the ipod away.
I would really like some help with this problem. I have tried the 5Rs and I have gotten nowhere. I will gladly take any suggestion that can be made.
I am running a Dell Inspiron with Windows Vista Basic, if that helps. Thank you for any help.

I have followed your intruction and it does not correct the problem. Diskmode does not appear. The ipod is completely locked out. The apple symbol appears, followed by the plug-in picture and that is all.
This is a result of an update to version 1.4.1 via iTunes. Surely Apple have to provide a fix for this error as it was no fault of anyone elses that these ipods are now rendered useless.
To make matters worse, I have all my uni assessment information on the ipod, which is my sister's, and I can no longer access it. My assessment is in 2 days.
If I have to get the ipod "repaired" due to an apple update then that is plain ridiculous. To cost me money for repair due to an update provided by apple? That's insane. Apple should take responsibility for the problems this update has caused and provide a fix.

  • Ias-component doesn't start after linux reboot

    Hi,
i've successfully installed the oracle infrastructure. it's all working until i reboot my rhes3 server, all the opmnctl ias-component are stopped/NONE and did not start automatically.
how can i configure the oracle infrastructure to start automatically after reboot?
dcm-daemon, oid, oc4j were all stopped and i couldn't restart it either.
    thanks.

In my opinion, it is better to manage the starting and stopping of all Oracle services yourself - rather than leaving it to the OS to do this for you - there are many reasons for this......for instance - if you are running on a split tier configuration, and there is something wrong with the listener for your repository, then the mid tiers will not come up until the repository is up - and so on and so forth....
I have one script that calls three scripts that check, stops or start all oracle services. I have the OID and portal tiers on one server - the start script is given below - and the stop and check scripts are all variations of this start script. Hope this helps.

  • Hardware digital trigger to start stop continuous analog acquisition

Hi I have seen the following example to use digital trigger to start and stop for finite number of samples. The example names is (DigitalStartandStopTrigger.vi)
in this example Reference Digital edge is used to stop acquisition but if I change to  continuous then Reference Digital edge stops and show an errir. Could you please let me know how can I use hardware digital trigger to start stop continuous analog acquisition. An example would be really great
    many thanks

    HI tintin_99,
The way that example works (by modifying the read position of the buffer) essentially performs the same operation that the continuous samples mode does. That is to say, it is already a continuous acquisition.
The article below explains this in more detail, and the reasoning behind specifying buffer size manually and other tricks used. You may have already visited it in order to get the example VI, in which case it may be worth another read over.
