Acrobat 8 standard version --- help please

I have a full version of Acrobat 8 standard. It was working properly. I had to uninstall it and reinstall it and now it will not convert a web page or a word doc or any document to a pdf file. It will let me view a document in adobe and separate it but not to convert one. Any suggestions?

I am sorry, but Acrobat 8 is a very old version and Adobe no more provides the download link for Acrobat 8 standard.

I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard version in Windows 8.1 and when I try to create a .pdf file, I receive the following error message "Acrobat could not open "file name.log" because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged. To create a PDF document, go to the source application then print the document to .pdf" I am going to the source application and printing the document to .pdf yet it's saving the file as a .log file. After reinstalling the software, I initially didn't encounter this problem but on my second and third attempts to convert files to .pdf format, this error message reappeared. How do I resolve this problem?

I have a similar problem which i did not have before...and it exists only in some powerpoint files which i want to print as a pdf file...and i get the same message as above.

Do I have to install Adobe Reader Version XI (11.0.06) when I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard Version 9.5.5 on my WIN7 Pro, just because Firefox 26.0 needs a newer plugin?

No. 9.5.5 is the latest version but it is no longer supported with updates. It is possible to get Firefox to stop blocking.
Version 11 does have significant security enhancements though, particularly on Windows.

Are you still using Acrobat 8? If not read further.
All Acrobat versions prior to 11.0.07 had a security flaw that they allows signing with certificates that had "Extended Key Usage" (EKU) restricted to certain certificate uses and those did not include document signing. Most frequently those were certificates with "Client Auth" or "Server Auth" in EKU. Acrobat/Reader 11.0.07 fixed this problem, which also means that while previous versions accepted such certificates for signing 11.0.07 and later do not.

Creating forms in Acrobat 8 Standard version (ver. 8.3.1)

I have Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard. My boss wants me to create forms to use on the web (for our intranet). I am told by the IT group that I can create secure forms with fields with the version that I have. I cannot find any info on the web that substantiates that. I don't want to make the IT guys look foolish but I really don't see how I can with the version I have. I have been researching it and it looks like I need the Professional version. Does anyone know the answer? Thanks for any help that you can provide.

Form creation tools were first added to Acrobat Standard with version 9, so you'll have to upgrade. I would suggest getting Pro, not Standard, if you do.

Does this version (or any version, for that matter) let you embed a "attatch file" button? I have our application in pdf format, but want to add an "attach file" option for applicants to attatch their resume and/or cover letter. Is this an adobe thing or a server thing?

You can add an attach a file button with Acrobat 9 Standard but it still won't allow recipients of the free Reader to attach files -- just those folks with the full product. There are a few alternatives available as discussed in the post How can I add Attachments to my Form?

Excel sumifs and the powerpivot version help please

very new to power pivot, can you help please?
In an excel table I was able to do the following...
=SUMIFS([GWP],[Date],[@Date],[PolType],[@PolType])
I have 60k rows where the above totals all GWP where the date & policy type match the individual record. This in effect gives a subtotal, per date per policy type rather than doing it in a pivot table. This works
nicely however it takes for ages to update, and calculate, also has issues when I then need to pivot table it.
As a result I'm trying to use powerpivot, as I understand it is better at dealing with these big calculations, I've tried the calculate formula, but I cannot understand how to have a rolling criteria in the field. Like I can in my sumifs.

To duplicate your original SUMIF as a Calculated Column in PowerPivot you could use one of the following:
Using EARLIER():
=CALCULATE(
SUM(Table1[GWP]),
FILTER(
Table1,
Table1[Date] = EARLIER(Table1[Date]) &&
Table1[PolType] = EARLIER(Table1[PolType])
Using ALLEXCEPT:
=CALCULATE(
SUM(Table1[GWP]),
ALLEXCEPT(
Table1,
Table1[Date],
Table1[PolType]
Both should produce the same result as a Calculated Column.
The second version with ALLEXCEPT() should also work a Measure/Calculated Field:
ALLEXCEPT Measure:=
CALCULATE(
SUM(Table1[GWP]),
ALLEXCEPT(
Table1,
Table1[Date],
Table1[PolType]
The advantage of the measure is that it should return the expected result in a pivot and filtering dynamically.
Your final measure would then be:
Percent GWP:=
SUM(Table1[GWP])/[ALLEXCEPT Measure]
In all examples, replace 'Table1' with your actual table name in Power Pivot.

There's a lot of that going around lately (hard drive crashes). Sorry to hear that!
It sounds like you've reached the maximum activations allowed, and because your hard drive crashed, of course you can't deactivate the copy that was installed there. But don't worry--Customer Care should be able to take care of that deactivation for you. Please Contact Customer Care.

Downloading new version of itunes and it crashes my internet. Ipod touch will not run with out new version. Have done many system restores and reset internet settings but still crashes net when i download any version HELP please

running windows vista prem. every time i try and down load the new version of itunes to laptop the net crashes when instalation is complete.
