  • Acrobat 3D Tryout

    Hi
Is the web version of Acrobat 3D tryout the full version or a cut down version?
I had to uninstall Acrobat Pro to install - Now Registration is greyed out in the tryout version!? Perhaps it only appears after the 30 days are up?
I am still getting confused between activation and registration - one gives Adobe my details and the other unlocks the program ............ so which is which and how do I do the activation if I havent already done it - there dosent seem any where to click? Yes the 30 day counter is still running.
In the future will you be offering an acrobat pro 7.0.7 to acrobat 3d upgrade?
    Regards
    James

Yesterday I attended the Webinar on Acrobat-3D and I downloded it this morning expecting great things . . . but nothing.
Called customer service and was told that they do not support Trial Versions !!! Ridiculous. They expect me to shell out 995 to try it out?
On the Webinar, they spent 20 minutes on Sales and Marketing nonsence before I could finally see a 10 min. demo.
    Done with my ranting.
Am I supposed to enter some kind of registration?
Nothing happens if I double click on the icon.
I am using Inventor 8 and when I tried to print a 3d assembly, the PDF process starts but nothing happens and I get a "Inventor not responding" from the Task Manager.
Can somebody help me out with this? The program looks really neat and I could certainly use it.
    Thanks,
    Erich

  • Acrobat 3D Tryout refuses to open

Wondering if anyone out there has had/is having problems using the Tryout version. I am running a dual boot XP and Xpx64 system, loading the trial in the XP side. I have unloaded all Adobe software to avoid versioning problems between Adobe products and run RegVac to ensure that no leftovers exist of the previous Adobe products. Acrobat 3D Tryout seems to install just fine but will not open when initiated.
I would love to try this product out. Anyone have clues to solve this mystery?

I know that Acrobat Pro and 3D use the same trial technology, so for that version they will cancel each other out (meaning ya only get 30 days of one of 'em).
I've never seen the Trial not work, so I'm stumped.
Hmmm...wait; Did you have any failed Install or Uninstall with either Pro/Std/3D? If you just deleted folders instead of using UNinstall, the system will be fooled into thinking you already have certain files. Try running "repair" from the Add/Remove programs dialog.

  • Why can't I open some Pdf files with Acrobat Beta?

I am using Acrobat.com Beta, and I don't have too many problems with converting to Pdf files, but opening some files that are already Pdf is does not work.I am told to download them ,and afterwards Itry to open them without success. Is there an answer out there?

I'm sorry you're having trouble.Special PDF files such as PDF portfolios or secured PDF files or password protected source files cannot be previewed on Acrobat.com.
Please note that not being able to preview a file should not interfere with the successful viewing of the file once downloaded.
Are you able to open and view PDFs on your desktop? What happens if you try to download the file from Acrobat.com in a different browser?

  • 3D tryout: Do I need to UNinstall Acrobat Pro V7.x.x first?

I tried to install the Acrobat 3D tryout but it didn't work. I already have Acrobat Pro V7.0.5 on my machine. When I run the 3D installer I get this message: " Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed. Setup will now terminate." and... it does :-(
Should I completely UNinstall my current Acrobat Pro V7.0.5 before trying to install the Acrobat 3D tryout? Is this the only way? Thanks!

    Catch 22
I moved my files and data to a new machine running some os as the old one - XP SP3 - most apps made it, but Acrobat 7 didn't. So, I uninstalled it, then tried to re-install from my cd - installshield just disappeared. So, tried to re-install 6 then upgrade, but it says "setup has determined that you already have a more functional product installed. " argh. Any ideas?

  • Acrobat  CD Form Button Display incorrectly  when an effect  or transparency  is applied  Via indesign  Looks like a bug

I have tested existing interactive pdfs that function perfectly in Acrobat XI and Adobe acrobat Reader but open the same files in Acrobat DC and Acrobat DC Reader and most of the documents i have designed and produces over last few years have been renderer useless
Basically any interactive  form field wich uses  Effects,  Transparency  or  mode changes  like multiply  in every instance the  whole form element appear as a pixelated mess
I have been posting  in an indesign Thread  https://forums.adobe.com/message/7427566#7427566  it contains  picture and a sample document
Steve Werner has been helping  me   and has suggest  i post here too
    Graeme,
I downloaded your PDF file. I have both Acrobat DC and Acrobat XI Pro and I can confirm that I view it the same way that you do.
It clearly seems to be a bug. In the Acrobat beta group, most users are probably not InDesign users, and most of us who do use InDesign probably didn't create or test Show/Hide buttons using those forms of transparency. I'm sure it's not intentional, probably a side effect of some other change.
It needs to be reported as a bug. I'd suggest using the Bug Report form here:
Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form
Also, there are several Acrobat forums. I'd suggest posting (if you haven't already) in the these two forums:
    Rich Media & 3D
    PDF Forms

It's good that you'll be submitting a bug. This sort of thing has happened before, and I think it's related some to the fact that InDesign is capable of generating field appearances that you can't set up in Acrobat (transparency in particular).

  • Form designing for compatibility between Acrobat Reader 7 and Acrobat Professional

I have designed a Form using LiveCycle Designer 7.0. It contains a few subforms and lot of javascripting. One of the javascript logic I am using is to display a subform when a user clicks a radio button and hide it when the user clicks another radio button. The subform contains Text field, Numeric field, Rectangle, Line, Button. This worked well with Acrobat Reader 7.
After I installed Acrobat Professional 7, my form breaks. I did a quick test to see where it breaks and came out with the following conclusion.
    1. If the subForm contains an Image, Line, Rectangle or Circle control, the subForm rendering throws error (Adobe Acrobat 7.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close) when I click on the radio button to display the subform.
    2. If the subForm contains Text control, it is displayed even if subform is invisible.
    3. If the subForm contains Checkbox, Radio, Dropdown list, List Box, Button, Submit By Email, Submit, Print Form, Reset Form; these controls are never displayed even if subform is visible.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue?

    Hi Dave,
    Thanks for the response.
I need some clarification. When you say 7.0.5 version, are you expecting 7.0.5 version of Reader or Professional?
    Here's the steps I followed:
I originally had Adobe Designer version 7, 0, 041126, 0 and Acrobat Reader 7.0.5 and everything worked great.
Now I have uninstalled Designer and Reader and installed
Acrobat Professional Tryout. This installs Acrobat Professional version 7.0.0 and Adobe Designer version 7, 0, 041126, 0 (which is the same as above). Now the same forms which were working earlier are not working as expected.
Please note that I have NOT installed Acrobat Reader 7.0.5. How do I find out what version of Reader does Designer user for PDF preview?
If I separately download Acrobat Reader 7.0.5, how do I tell Designer to use that version for PDF preview?
    Thanks,
    Satish

  • Acrobat XI unstable on Win7 and Win8

Anyone else having trouble with creating/appending a webpage from browser to a PDF.
    Typical problems:
    firefox crashes during creation
Creation popup window keeps running with no progress
Error popups "DDE unable to communicate with Acrobat"
In ability to capture Web pages that have JavaScript
( The most frequent language on the web;  Acrobat has JS built in )
When this happens, I stop having the browser append the page,
and instead request the page be appended from Acrobat.
Serious Flaw:  If the page I'm viewing was arrived at by Single Sign On
to the site, Acrobat will only collect the signon redirection page.
That is why appending the page from a logged in browser is important.
Most annoying:  Acrobat does not remember the name of the last PDF used.
It always truncates the name into something unusable.
I have to ALWAYS find the last PDF I was writing to for a new "Append" request
Acrobat becomes non-responsive when DDE connections fail.
It means I cannot launch Acrobat at all ... even for different pdf files.
Solution:  Task Mugger and kill the running Acrobat processes.
I have several Acrobat dmp files ... I opt-in to "make Acrobat better" ... is Adobe
getting these crash failures?  Something more I have to do at my end?
As far as I can tell by dates, the crashes had nothing to do with Task Manager kills.
I see the same problems in both Win7 and Win8.
Acrobat X worked much better ... but the plugin was only available for Internet Explorer,
    so I upgraded to XI.
Super annoying:  Adobe does not appear to ever have tested appending from a
browser to a PDF that was just created.   It always presents a corrupted filename
    for selection.
    My Solution:
    Create an entirely new directory
Place the pdf I want to create there as the only file
When Acrobat "forgets" the filename, it does still remember the directory
and I don't have to search for the PDF I want to append to.
It still is an additional keystroke to select the file ... which really slows me down.
Please fix these things.  Or do I have to wait for XII version to get any fixes?
I am using Acrobat XI Pro Version 11.0.06

Perfect example of failures.  Viewing this page from firefox, "convert to PDF"
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/5140738#5140738
It hangs and two windows are open:
Apparently can't copy/paste images.  Here they are:
And the firefox crash when I attempted to Append to a pdf:

  • OLE objects & scaning in Acrobat 8.0

    Hello!
In forums (May 3, 2007) I have read the question:
" How to avoid dialogue of saving in a file before scanning in Acrobat 8"?
Leonard Rosenthol has answered, that there is no way because
now developers changed from "Scan & Save" to "Save & Scan".
    It is very surprising!!!
I have the application which uses OLE automation for scanning documents in Acrobat and place them in
    database as OLE objects.
In database the object is created on the basis of an PDF file with one empty page and then activated in
    window of Acrobat.
Then menu item "Scan" is carried out.
Fragment of VBA code (properly work in Acrobat 6):
    Set GL.Acr = CreateObject("AcroExch.App")
    GL.Acr.Show
    GL.Acr.Minimize 0
Me!DocImage.Class = "AcroExch.Document" 'set class of OLE object
Me!DocImage.SourceDoc = "c:\applicants\empty.pdf" 'source file with empty sheet
Me!DocImage.Action = acOLECreateEmbed 'creation on basis of source file
    Me!DocImage.Verb = acOLEVerbOpen 'command - open
Me!DocImage.Action = acOLEActivate 'activation in Acrobat
    ScanExe = GL.Acr.MenuitemExecute("Scan")
    If ScanExe = False Then
But Acrobat 8.0 does not understand, that document is open from OLE object
and always gives out save dialog before scaning.
Menu items -"Update" (instead of "Save") and "Exit and Return to ..."
    (instead of "Exit") are absent.
It turns out, that in Acrobat 8 you have destroyed an opportunity of work with
documents contained in OLE objects in other applications. It is absolutely not clear.
    Please answer what to do???

    Dear Leonard!
    I disagree with your answer.
OLE automation is used by many programs.
Within the framework of this technology is widely used:
    - creation and preservation of object in the application - client (database in my case),
    - then opening of object in application - server (Acrobat in my case)
    - and applying methods described in the documentation of application - server to open object.
In my code is used the standard technology of OLE automation and ONLY!!! the methods described in the documentation of Acrobat.
My code works in Acrobat 6 and Acrobat 7.
I have written previous message to make Acrobat better!!!
I so understand, that you answer on behalf of developers, but your answer not worthy the world famous name - "Adobe".
I think, that developers of new scan plug-in for Acrobat 8 simply did not consider, that the document can be open from the object stored in application - client.
And as representative of developers it is necessary for you either to recognize publicly a problem or publicly to declare, that "Adobe" will not solve it, instead of to write, that not documentary opportunities have been used.
    Yours faithfully,
    Victor.

  • Cannot install tryout

I have just downloaded and tried to install Acrobat 3D tryout. But a error message comes up saying 'Error 1311. Source file not found: C:\DOCUME......\Data1.cab. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
Please help me how to proceed the installation.

Check to see if data1.cab actually does exist, and if it looks like the large file size it should be - over 300mb
Sometimes the Adobe servers don't always deliver the full files - no idea why.

  • "Tryout expired" just after installation

    Hello there,
I'm trying to install Acrobat 3D tryout in my laptop, after having uninstalled Acrobat 7 Pro (bundled with Creative Suite 2).
Unfortunately after installation I get a "tryout has expired" panel.
My CS2 is regularly activated and not a tryout version, however it is possible that I've been using a trial version of Acrobat 7 for some days in the past.. Any clues before uninstalling everything?

Hello Mark - one thing I would say is that from my experience a reformat may not be of any use - I trashed two (thankfully old) HDs when Acrobat 7 Professional came out because of this.
A total reformat did not solve the issue - after installing Windows and then Acrobat, it immediately asked for activation and would not proceed any further. So the reformat did not wipe out the previous tryout data - I assume because it is hidden on a normally inaccessible part of the HD.
Your activation folks did a very thorough job with the technology, but it is a little bit problematic for tryouts as a result. I don't think it is clever enough to differentiate between someone trying to repeatedly install tryouts as a way of not paying for the software, and... honest people.

  • Unbelievable slow startup with OS 10.7 Lion

    The Problem
Out of curiosity I decided to time the amazing slow startup of Lion after several weeks of use.  It took a full minute from the chime sound until the welcome screen showed with the list of users.  Then, from the time I pressed the return key with my user password until the first app (iChat) was able to open any operational window, it took another full minute and 34 seconds.  If we include the 17 seconds that Lion took to let me click on my user and enter my password (because it doesn't matter how quick you do it, Lion is not going to take it anytime soon), we are talking about nearly three minutes from beginning to the end.
    Clarification # 1
I'm not loaded with all those login items that tend to slow down the startup to load on the menu bar.  Nothing out of the normal (Dropbox, Evernote, unDock), the ones most seasoned Apple users use.  I have used Macs since 1989 and consider myself an Intermediate knowledge user, so don't tell me some of the things that I already know after 22 years.  I know this is not normal and wonder if everybody else using Lion has conformed to such slowness.
    Clarification # 2
Another necesary clarification: I DO NOT check the option to "Reopen windows when logging back in".  Depending on the number of open apps or windows you have when shutting down or logging out, that can easily double or triple the startup waiting time!  What an annoying feature!  What was Apple thinking when checking that box by default?  Are they assuming that most of us want to wait more than 3 minutes to have our Mac up and running?  How many users are cursing Apple's engineers names for doing this everytime they shutdown or startup their Macs?
    Clarification # 3
My hard drive is pretty much in order.  I use Drive Genius to keep my blocks in order with 150Gb (out of 500Gb) available and mostly in one single block to be available for virtual memory and temporary files.  So, hard drive slowness is not the problem.  As you can see, I've done my homework, including repairing permissions, etc.
    Final reflexion
If Windows 8 is promising to have a 10-second startup (and beta tryouts confirm that it does so), maybe Apple should consider reviewing making me loose roughly over 15 hours every year waiting for my Mac to startup...

I have the new MacBook Pro with Lion pre-installed. I did a fresh install of CS4 and didn't have any problems with installation. I do fairly basic editing in Photoshop so I tested the following:
    - Opening .jpg and .NEF (raw) files
    - Opening several photos at once
    - Editing a photo in the .NEF interface
    - Creating new layers
    - Flattening layers
    - Adding text
    - Rotating the image
    - Cropping
    - Changing saturation
    - Applying unsharp mask
    - Clone Stamp tool
    - Applying the Liquify filter
    - Selecting a color
    - Using the eye dropper tool
    - Paintbrush tool
    - Burn tool
    - Adjusting levels, curves, brightness, contrast
    - Changing the image size
    - Copying and pasting from one image to another
    - Creating an Action
    - Opening Adobe Bridge and performing a Batch operation using the Action I created
    - Saving as .psd and .jpg
    - Opening the files on another machine to see if the files seemed ok
I admit that this is not a thorough testing of the software, but I was able to accomplish these basic tasks on several photos I used. The only problem I experienced was when I tried dragging my Background layer onto the New Layer button. This caused the program to freeeze. When I pressed the New Layer button, it was fine. Considering this is about the only functions I ever use in Photoshop, I don't see a reason not to stick with this version. Obviously, I don't know if you would have problems doing more complicated things.

  • Major Memory Loss after Yosemite 10.10.2

    Greetings, all.
I've had Yosemite installed since the first day it was released, and have diligently (now regretfully) applied every update since. The only trouble I had to date was a very infrequent and intermittent WiFi disconnection. Up until last week, and according to Memory Clean, I consistently saw 11.5-12 GB of free memory with no apps running. Even when running VMWare (4 GB allocated) plus 6-8 others apps simultaneously, I would still see 3-4 GB of available memory. Performance has always been solid. However, since installing the latest Yosemite update just last week, I now see 8 GB of free memory with nothing running, and 1.5 GB of memory available when running VMWare (2 GB now allocated) and only 2 apps running (Chrome, Messages). Additionally, this usually drops into MB with fans running and sluggish performance.
What's happened?!? Really appreciate any expertise and guidance as this has significantly degraded performance on my MacBook (specs and report below).
Perhaps there's another thread I've missed. Do share if that's the case.
I followed steps in this article to no avail.
Guide: How to solve Yosemite memory leaks and CPU usage
I downloaded EtreCheck per this thread, but not certain if there is something standing out as the culprit.
Yosemite made my MacBook Pro so slow. Need help.

    Thanks, @OGELTHORPE.
I actually had skimmed that very article, and do see green in the memory pressure. Interesting. Perhaps the concern arose more so because of my fans kicking on more and the third-party app Memory Clean all of a sudden started showing lower figures. Correlating that with the fans raised the concern. Yes, it's green under Memory Pressure, but why would my fans be running more--especially with hardly any apps on? Are you saying then that Yosemite will apply all RAM available to what's running and as I run more and more apps it will gradually reallocate RAM across everything? Should the fans running more concern me? They do get quieter gradually; I guess with this gradual "reallocation".
Thanks for the tip about McAfee. I'm pretty sure that it's standard from IT at work, but I'll double-check.

  • Product key won't work

    Hi support,
I have a acrobat X pro product key.
When I try to reinstall acrobat x pro and activate acrobat x pro, it said my product key not for this product.
I want to check is it my product key have any problem?

    Hi Zen,
I checked the serial number and it is a try and buy serial key meant for Acrobat Beta version.
This serial key was just for testing purpose and might have been expired. So the invalid serial key error you are getting.
    Regards,
    Rave

  • DIRECT TECH SUPPORT?

Whenever I have a problem with iMovie HD or iDVD ( I use them both for my videography business) I always end up searching for answers on the discussions board. That's great and many of you have taught me quite a bit about the software. But I do have one very logical question. DOES APPLE HAVE AN EASY WAY TO ASK A TECH SIMPLE QUESTIONS WHEN IT COMES TO THESE PROGRAMS? ANd I don't mean the help page with pre-asked questions and answers. I'm talking human to human interface here. Anyone out there know if such a thing exists anymore?
Once again....thanks in advance.....the users of iMovie NEVER let me down...unlike the manufacturers.

    Hi Joe,
I'm not an Apple employee, but I dare to say:
If... you use a Mac as out-of-the-box (no no-name drives, no exotic converter boxes, etc)
If... you use the apps as they are intended to be used (don't try to use still-cam footage be edited with a mini-dv-edit as iMovie... as an example...)
if... you maintaine your system on a regular basis (UNIX has socalled cron jobs, it has permissions etc...)
If.. you keep far away of betas, tryouts, "free" downloads....
If ... you don't fumble the system by re-installs, terminal-hacks, deleting "unneeded" components...
    ... you don't need a face-2-face support.-
    believe it or not:
for years, I didn't had any trouble... I use my Cube excessive, for video, 3Danim, wesbite creation, typing (<< that is on a professional level) and the usual stuff as iNet, mail etc. my Cube runs 12h a day.... no huzzle.
Only support I do/did need is for some silly workarounds, because I'm not able to spend big bucks for apps as FCP, DVDSP...
so, as Apple, I wouldn't spend money to anwser simple questions.. if you're lucky, ask the personal at the Genius Bar in the nearest Apple store (that is ... London/800 miles form here )
