Acrobat pro won't export to word

tried saving pdf as word doc and program just spins

I was basically suggesting you get away from the document you have, at least in total, and see if the function works for you. It may be a bad PDF and at this point you want to check if the basic functionality works. So you could extract a single page or create a new 1-page PDF to try. Keep it simple. It may be a particular graphic that is the cause of the hang up. At this point you have 2 steps: 1. check to be sure the function works and 2. try to isolate the problem to a specific page or graphic if it appears to be the PDF. If you can post the PDF, others of us can also check the PDF out (try Acrobat.com or Dropbox -- be sure to make public).

  • Acrobat Pro won't export PDF to TIFF

My Acrobat X Pro won't export an engineering drawing PDF to a 1200 dpi TIFF. It says this image is too wide, and recommends I crop the image or lower the resolution. I do not wish to do either.  Why does acrobat care how wide my image is? I need it at 1200, and I need it whole and intact.  How do I get my TIFF image?

Use Photoshop. This is enormously outside the design and intention of Acrobat.

Acrobat Pro won't update from 10.1.6 to 10.1.7, any tips, on Mac…?

    One of two things:
    1.  Go to the Terminal App and type the word "sudo" and hit the Enter/Return key.  If it comes back with a permissions error then seek from Apple to correct it.
    2.  If there is no permissions error in the Terminal app then go to the installation log at "/var/log/install.log" or "/private/var/log/install.log".  Open it up and see if you find an error about failing to write to the file:
./postinstall: Error in converting the plist /Library/Preferences/com.adobe.PDFAdminSettings.plist to xml1 format
If you get the error above then delete the file at the location and try updating again

  • Acrobat Pro XI V11.0.2 - Word 2010 to PDF conversion fails to generate header text

    Hello,
Following the recent update to V11.0.2, the Acrobat PDF converter for Word 2010 fails to generate the output document correctly. It misses out the text box part of the Word header.
However, using Acrobat XI via the "Print to PDF printer" appears to generate the output file correctly.
System is Windows XP-SP3 with Office 2010 (and all current updates), plus Acrobat Pro V11.0.2
Example Word source and resulting PDF are available, if anyone can figure out how to use this web interface to post examples.
    Colin Butcher.

    Hello,
No, there is no change in behaviour on my Windows XP machines, nor would I expect there to be given that there has been no change until V11.0.3 was released.
Given that you’ve reproduced the problem, albeit on a different machine, it seems reasonable to assume that the problem is related to Acrobat. If you can reproduce the behaviour, then you should be able to fix it.
The problem still exists with V11.0.3. I look forward to it being resolved shortly.
    Colin.

  • Subscription Acrobat Pro DC, Adobe Export PDF, Adobe PDF Pack. How can I activate the need of licens?

Subscription Acrobat Pro DC, Adobe Export PDF, Adobe PDF Pack.
How can I activate the need of licens?
The reason can be Adobe policy, I have change computer, added products, stop using any product and so on.

    Hans,
When you no longer need the Adobe software on a computer or you wish to move it to another one, you should deactivate the software.
See this link: how to deactivate software. Installation rules will let you install the software on two computers of the same platform (both windows or both mac) but you are limited to running it on only one at a time. If you have only installed it once, you should be able to install it on the other computer. If you have already installed the software twice and you don't have access to your previous computer or you upgraded your computer's hardware, replace a hard drive, upgraded your operating system, or reformatted your drive before deactivating your software, you can ask Adobe Support to help you deactivate the software from the machine. Just have your serial number or Adobe ID ready, and then contact support. Then you can install the software from the links below and enter your serial number to re-activate the software.
If you need to find your serial number, sign in to your Adobe account. On the Manage Accounts page that appears, all of your registered products and their serial numbers are listed in the Plans & Products section. For more information on locating serial numbers, or on registering a serial number, please see Find a serial number.

  • Pages won't export to Word

Running latest Pages in latest Lion on a new iMac. When I try to export to Word, I get an error message: "The file format is invalid."
A Word doc IS actually created, but it has all Comments stripped out...making it utterly useless to me. I've tried uninstalling iWork 09, restarting the iMac, then reinstalling (and re-upgrading) iWork 09 from the original disc, but no love -- it just won't export a Word file with Comments.
Anyone else having this problem? Anyone have a solution?
    Thanks!
    Barry

Well, I tried export to Word before saving the document in Pages. It worked fine! I didn't finalize the changes in any way. I could open the .doc document and it still showed the changes and comment field.
I think something is corrupt in your document. You could select the content and paste into a new blank template and save it and then export to a Word document. Then undo all changes in the original document to the point you started the changes and copy and paste  into a new document and give it a different name. Now you have a before and after the changes and hopefully the  corruption didn't get copied over.

  • Acrobat Pro won't open, how do I restore it?

My Acrobat Pro won't open, how do I restore it?

Yes, updates run each time I reinstall Bill.
On one forum, it was suggested to download Adobe cleaner.  I ran it every time before reinstalling.  Adobe XI Pro works after that, but is so unstable.  Cant figure out what triggers it to stop launching.

  • Acrobat Pro 9 - Conversion Error from Word 2007

I do not want to hijack the thread or question raised by another poster a short time ago but I cannot figure out how to correct the below.
    Office 2007 fully updated
    Vista 32-bit
    Acrobat Pro 9.3.4
I have to provide data for someone else to assemble and publish and have been attempting to convert some Word documents nearly full of tables to press quality .pdf.  Whenever I try the conversion, Acrobat Pro seems to re-center the tables both horizontally and vertically forcing the misalignment of the rows of data although any repeating headers remain properly placed.  I can even see the table shift downward slightly when using the Acrobat conversion macro within Word.  It may be adjusting the margins instead of re-centering.
I have tried using the macro within Word 2007, Create PDF within Acrobat Pro and Print to PDF as well as tweaking some of the settings such as lowering resolution and turned off unused settings such as enable fast web view, etc.  The glitch also occurs with High Quality Print.  Standard used to work but after the update to 9.3.4 that conversion shows the same problem.  I even tried saving in Word 97-2003 format with the same results.
The documents in question do have custom page sizes and margins but do not use any abnormal fonts.  I have tried changing the margins but the conversion to .pdf still changes the information and/or magins as described above.  Row height seems to be correctly maintained.
I realize that a knowledgeable user can export the .pdf back into Word or other program but am trying to make it more difficult for someone to edit information which has always had extremely negative consequences in terms of data organization, layout and even integrity.
There has to be something really silly that I am overlooking.
    Thank You

    Thanks Bill.
Sorry for the delay, Verizon dumped its DSL +service to Frontier so we had one of the bi-weekly extended outages.
No changes occurred when I changed the default printer to Adobe PDF.  All of my printers are new enough so that they can handle the current margins so I do not think that they is a problem there but changing the default as suggested by you and Michael eliminates that as the source.
I had previously been able to convert using the built-in converter in Word but was unsure whether or not the result would be press quality and was unable to find this information in my searches.  I retested this and conversion using Word’s built-in converter works without a problem.
The conversion using Combine Miles > Merge Into A Single PDF also works without a problem with the highest quality setting.  It took several hours to run but I guess or assume that it was because of the number of tags as this is a quick setting and therefore I could not disable the tagging which is not needed in this case.
I was also able to convert the same file which had been saved from Word 2007 into the 1997-2003 format as described above but the same problem came up when using the Acrobat macro and Create PDF from File.  I had even created a modified press quality settings to modify settings like disabling autorotate, Object Level Compression, changed the binding option, lowered resolution, bumping the format up to PDF 1.7, etc., but all produce the same result.  I have tried changing the document margins in case the conversion process rounded these but all produce the same artifact/problem except when I use Combine Files or the converter built into Word.

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro won't edit document created by Illustrator 2 and saved as PDF

I've tried multiple things, but can't get Acrobat Pro to edit text within a PDF file which was created by Illustrator cs2 "Accumulated text within the attempted selection area is rotated other than horizontal or vertical.  Touchup cannot create a text selection area.".   I've searched google, read help....
Fix was to download NitroPDF.   It quickly and easily edited the text.   So why won't Adobe do it...

The same thing happens with pdf files that are not zip files even if saved from Acrobat Pro on my computer.

  • Acrobat Pro not working in Office Word 2003

    Hi!
Im having troubles with my Acrobat Pro 9.0 in office 2003.
The Acroat plugins in word are not working, the "acrobat-PDF" button is not working at all, when i select or press something in the dropdown menu nothing happens. the workaround on saving my files is to go to File > print as a PDF document.
After i finish typing my document and add a few links to webpages and "mailto" links and save/print it to a PDF file, some of the links work and other dont.
So does anyone know how i can get all my links to work? or even be able to use the "acrobat plugin/buttons" in the word program?
The guy on suport phone told me its a setting problem that needs to be adjusted.
    TY in advance / Nkla

    Nikola,
Have you checked the properties of the Adobe PDF printer in your Printers and Faxes menu? You may need to make some changes regarding the settings here.

  • Acrobat Pro XI Will Not Print Word Document with a Rotated Table

I have a MS Word document that is mostly text, but include a table that has been rotated in a text box to fit on the page.  When I try to print to PDF using Acrobat Pro XI, the document crashes at the page the table is on.
I have tried several attempts to print using the Acrobat Printer, convert to PDF feature and trying to print just the page alone.  Acrobat will simply not print word document with a rotated table.
Any idea how to fix this?
Word 2013, Windows 7, Acrobat Pro XI 11.0.06

In the full document, the print to PDF goes only as far as the table, then ends - not printing the table.  The remaining pages are not printed.
For example, I have trimmed the file down to just the table page, and included links to it, and a copy of the PDF it generated.

    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/60543835/Forums/Table%20Sample_140903.pdf
The error message I now get when I try to print is: "There is not enough memory or disk space to repaginate or print this document."
However, with the Task manager open, the memory never seems to get above half of the available (the graph bar fluctuates a little, but stays stable")
The page prints to a regular HP or Xerox printer with no problems.

  • Acrobat Pro XI is not recognizing Word 2013 files when I try to combine files in a single PDF. Please help.

I recently upgraded to Office 2013. Everything seems to be working fine with Acrobat Pro XI, except when I try to combine Word 2013 files into a single PDF, I get this message: "Acrobat does not support the conversion of one or more of your files to PDF. . . ." Please help. Thanks.

I've opened both Word and Excel. The Acrobat ribbon is showing in both programs and I did some test things and they seem to be working fine. However,  I still cannot see or use formats other than pdf in the Acrobat Pro program. Is there another setting that needs to be adjusted?
