Acrobat X Pro requirement

We are considering purchasing Acrobat X Pro as we would like to convert our customer pdfs into Excel format. At present we only have Acrobat Reader 9 on our system. We dont particularly need to create pdfs, just convert them. Which package would be right for these needs please?

Acrobat Standard is also capable of doing that, but if wish to process
multiple files in a single process, then you should get the Pro version.
BTW, you can try out the trial version of Pro version for free for 30 days.
Standard doesn't have a trial version.

  • "Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater"

Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater is the error that jumps up when I try installing it. Currently this system is running Internet Explorer 7 which is installed at it's default location. Any clues what can have gone wrong?
    Version 7.0.5730.13
    Build 75730
Program path C:\Program\Internet Explorer (Swedish computer)
    Language Engelska (USA)

I came upon this post after receiving this error message when trying to install Acrobat 9. In my case, we deploy Acrobat from an Administrative Installation Point (AIP) using Group Policy. I believe the user at this computer pulled the plug while the group policy deployment was taking place. I got the error when trying to install the program manually afterwards.
I was able to rectify the issue by running msiexec.exe against the MSI in the AIP with the /x switch, performing an uninstall:
    msiexec /x \\server\deploy\AcrobatStandard9\acrostan.msi
(The program was not showing up in Add/Remove programs, otherwise I would have tried uninstalling from there.) After that, the install proceeded successfully.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Since upgrading to Mavericks my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro requires administrative password on every launch--whats with that?

Since upgrading to Mavericks my Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro requires administrative password on every launch which seems like an unnecessary step.  Does anyone know why this is happening and what can be done to eliminate this?

Download and run the combo updater to refresh your files.
OS X Mavericks 10.9.3 (Update (Combo)

Open Disk Utility and run Repair Permissions
You might need to remove and reinstall Acrobat. Be sure you are in an admin account when installing.

  • Acrobat 7 Pro requires activation from time to time

I have installed Acrobat 7 Pro v7.1.0 on a netbook.
Now, Acrobat requires activations. The time distance between activation requirements gets shorter and shorter.
The Error Message (translated from german to english):
The configuration of your computer was changed since last activation
If you want to use your product furtgher press OK to reactivate it again
    for the new system configuration.
After pressing OK the activation process starts and is finished with a "Thank you for activating".
The error occurs sometimes 5 timesc a day !!!
I am wondering how often i can activate the product.
I have NO VMware or other virtual machine software running on this netbook.
I've already reinstalled the software. Same error.

XP 64-bit is unsupported. However, when these problems occur under Acrobat 7, there was a patch downloadable from an Adobe site. It was only made available through the Activation hotline, since it required a reset of the Acrobat activation settings on the Adobe activation server. I do not know if they Adobe makes this patch available to XP 64-bit users or if it will solve the problem in this environment.

  • Activated Acrobat 10 Pro requires re-activation

I purchased CS5 about two months ago. After installing CS5 successfully, when I tried to install Acrobat 10 Pro, the installation won't accept the serial #. By the way, the PC had Acrobat 6 Pro on it which I uninstalled before installing CS5. Acrobat 10 had an option to install it in trial mode. So in installed it in trial mode thinking it may accept the serial # once installed or I can get help from Adobe. Long story short neither option worked.
So I uninstalled Acrobat 10 and then tried to re-install it. It still won't accept the serial #. I cancelled the installation. In my 20 years of experience with computers I have never seen a product that didn't accept a valid serial #!
However, when I tried installing it using an Acrobat 10 Pro disc that was ordered with volume licensing it accepted the serial # for Acrobat 10 that came with CS5. After installation I was able to activate it. This was a bit odd that the serial # didn't work with the disc it's meant for but it worked with a volume licensing disc.
Now the problem is that every now and then a message pops up asking to activate Acrobat which is already activated. The options to activate and deactivate are disabled under Help on the main menu. It's very annoying. What's one to do? Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

    I bought it from CDW.com
The SN is valid. It has been validated by Adobe cust support.
Also I failed to mention in the post that the SN works on a different machine.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro requires admin password every time it opens?

Ever since a recent upgrade, my Acrobat Pro wants a password "to make changes" just to open.
I don't want to make changes, I want to open the app. A similar question elsewhere in this group has not been answered.
    thanks

Try blowing away your Acrobat preferences files in ~/Library/Preference. These should be sufficient:
    $ find Library/Preferences | grep -i acrobat | egrep -v 'chc|Macro'
    Library/Preferences/Acrobat
    Library/Preferences/Acrobat/9.0_x86
    Library/Preferences/Acrobat/9.0_x86/Acrobat WebCapture Prefs
    Library/Preferences/Acrobat/9.0_x86/Redaction
    Library/Preferences/Acrobat/9.0_x86/Redaction/ENU
    Library/Preferences/Acrobat/9.0_x86/Redaction/ENU/SearchRedactPatterns.xml
    Library/Preferences/Acrobat Distiller Prefs
    Library/Preferences/Adobe/Acrobat
    Library/Preferences/Adobe/Acrobat/10.0
    Library/Preferences/com.adobe.acrobat.90.sh.plist
    Library/Preferences/com.adobe.acrobat.pdfviewer.plist
    Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro.plist
    Library/Preferences/com.adobe.Acrobat.Pro_x86_9.0.plist
    $
Then run Acrobat twice. It should rewrite the preferences, possibly prompting you in the process, and then be happy.

  • Acrobat X Pro file re-naming

Acrobat X Pro requires file re-naming to edit and re-save a previously created PDF.
I create a PDF, name it and save it.
Then I want to re-open and edit the same PDF.
When I edit and hit save Acrobat requires I re-name the file to save the changes.
It is a bother. I should be able to save changes without creating a new file with a unique name each time I edit.

Make sure the Preview panel in Windows Explorer is disabled.

  • Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation

I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium, it cost more than €2,000. When I recently tried to re-install it due to having to reformat my hard drive I could no longer activate it over the phone or online.
When I rang the help number it directed me to the downloadable versions that don't require activation. Great! UNTIL I realise Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional is only available for Windows as a download.
Where is the download for the Mac Version as it not included in the bundle either. This is extremely urgent. Thank you in advance.

    To maswatson
The answer to your question of March 12, 2015 – "Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation[?]" – is … nowhere. That doesn't mean it's not available to you, however. I have successfully installed several CS2 programs and Acrobat 7, on two computers.
The hard drive on my MacBook Air crashed recently. After a new drive was installed I had to reload various programs, including CS2 Premium. I used the original disks and the serial number on the package.
When I tried to open InDesign, however, I got an "Activate Using the Internet" message which led to an "Activation Server Unavailable" message that gave me three options, the last of which was "Click the Phone Activation button to activate the product over the phone." I called the toll-fee number and heard the following recorded message: "We no longer support activation issues over the phone."
So I searched the Web, figuring that others had encountered and solved this problem. Eventually, I found "Creative Suite Help / Download Acrobat 7 and OS2 Products" at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I also found "How to Fix Adobe’s “Licensing for this product has stopped working” Error by Aaron Nelsen at http://hijinksinc.com/2010/01/20/how-to-fix-adobes-licensing-for-this-product-has-stopped- working-error/. He writes "… you MUST delete adobe_00080000_tsf.data and adobe_00080000_event.log" which is found in /Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet. So I did that.
I also deleted Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, and Photoshop CS2 from my Applications folder. I did not delete Acrobat 7 or GoLive.
After clicking on "English" at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#, I downloaded Illustrator CS2 for Mac, InDesign CS2 for Mac, and Photoshop CS2 for Mac. I was not able to download Acrobat 7 because the only option is for Windows. As you know, there is no download for Mac.
Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, and Photoshop CS2 all opened without any problems. When I tried to open GoLive, I got the same "Activate Using the Internet" message I got at the outset, when I tried to open InDesign. I proceeded, and now have a 30-day trial. The same limitation has been placed on Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, because I downloaded them, whereas GoLive was installed from the CS2 disks.
Next, I opened Acrobat 7.0 Professional – the one installed from the original CS2 disks. It works fine.
BOTTOM LINE: If you want Acrobat 7.0 Professional, install Creative Suite using original CS2 disks, then delete the other CS2 programs from those disks. If you want Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, Photoshop CS2, and others, download them from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I am hoping this explanation will help you. I feel great sympathy for you because the "answers" you received have been obtuse and clearly less than helpful. (I requested a "Yes," "No," or "Don't know" answer to a very straightforward question, but didn't get it.)
My experience tells me that the answer to your question "Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation[?]" – is … nowhere, but you don't need to download it. It's on the original disks and it does not require activation. That's why Adobe did not included it with the Windows version at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
I hope this answers your question, solves your problem, and ends your frustration.

  • Requirements for participants - must they have Acrobat Connect Pro for meetings?

I am soon participating in a "eLearning" program and we have been told that the meetings are within "Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting".
It is not clearly stated anywhere if I need to subscribe and have this program installed myself or if it is actually only the host that needs the program.
Is having Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro Meeting installed/subscribed a requirement for the participants?
Thanks for any help - hope Adobe will state this much clearer on their webpages in the future.

All the techical requirements for joining a meeting are listed here: Adobe Connect system requirements, web conferencing, Mac | Adobe Connect
Basically you need to have Flash Player 11.2 or newer.

  • Acrobat X Pro stop working on CS6 and requires a new serial number

Hello all! I faced this problem several times running Window 8 Professional 64Bits. For a reason which I could not understand, in a certain momment Acrobat X Pro, installed under the CS Design & Web Premium package, stop working. It simplys could no longer be launched. I click on the Acrobat icon, or run it mannualy by the command window, and it is like it does not exist. The hard drive light blink a litle bit and stop with no error message. I have already tried to unisnstall the Acobat using the CS6 uninstall interface, reboot the computer and install it again, using the CS6 interface and under the new installation Acrobat is recognized as a stand alone software and request me a new Acrobat serial number. The new installation did not recognize the CS6 serial number.
The only action that has worked in the past is remove completelly the CS6 and reinstall the full package again. I would not like to do it since I have my dreamweaver full loaded of servers configurations and it will take a long time to recover all environment as it is now.
Therefore I decided to ask for help. Does anyone could give me any idea how to turn around this?
