Acrobat XI misses last hyperlink in TOC

Converting Word 2010 docs to PDF with Acrobat XI ...
The last row of the TOC does NOT become a link to the page. When hovering the mouse over the last row, there is no hand symbol as appears over the other TOC entries.
Happens every time I convert to PDF. I simply use the tool button in Word's Acrobat tool bar to convert to pdf.
IS there a fix for this?

Somewhat roundabout way but this should work:

  • Acrobat 9 Pro: Links to Word TOC and cross references are lost

I'm testing Acrobat 9 Pro and while it successfully creates a PDF from Word 2003 with bookmarks, all my TOC and internal page reference links are lost.
I have triple checked the conversion settings from the Adobe PDF menu option in Word, and the "Convert cross-references and table of contents to links" check box is definitely selected.
I used the same Word document on another machine with Acrobat 6 Pro installed - and the TOC and cross ref links were created successfully. As far as I can see the Adobe PDF settings in Word 2003 on both machines are the same - the only difference is that one uses Acrobat 6 Pro and the other uses Acrobat 9 Pro.
The only setting in 9 Pro I turned off was the 'enable accessibility tagging' one; it's also turned off in 6 Pro. The remaining settings are the default.
A clickable TOC and internal links is essential for my clients who often have 400+ page documents.
Anybody have any suggestions? Or can anybody confirm that they do/don't get the same behavior in Acrobat 9 Pro?

Thanks Abhigyan - your test PDF worked fine for me.
This is what I've done today:
    1. Checked for all instances of pdfm*.dot files and removed any that were lurking in old Application Data and Microsoft Office folders.
    2. Deleted all Acrobat 5 and 6 folders and subfolders still lurking in Program Files.
    3. Used Add/Remove to delete Adobe Reader 8 and its updates. I figure I can always install Reader 9 if I need it as a separate app.
    4. Checked that everything was gone using the Windows Installer CleanUp utility (it was).
    5. Restarted my machine.
    6. Turned off my anti-virus software.
    7. Did a search for any pdfm*.dot files - found one only in the current Microsoft Office folder and left it there.
    8. Reinstalled Acrobat 9 Professional.
    9. Opened my test Word 2003 document.
    10. Checked all the Acrobat conversion settings and left them as the defaults.
    11. Converted the doc to PDF and checked for internal links. Yes! The TOC links worked! But my joy was short-lived as the page link didn't work...
    12. Tried various other conversion settings based on some suggestions from Lance in first level Adobe Support yesterday - still no page link. And I also lost the TOC links when I cleared the Enable Accessibility check box on the Settings tab of the conversion settings.
    13. Checked the Edit > Preferences > Convert To PDF settings for Word in Acrobat 9 - add bookmarks and add links are both selected (default).
    14. Used Acrobat 9 to create the PDF (File > Create > From File) hoping that this might might a difference. Nope. No TOC or page links.
    15. Changed conversion settings back to default via Word 2003, and created a PDF from a longer document. Again the TOC links worked, the URLs worked (they always did), the bookmarks worked (they always did too), but the none of the internal page cross-reference links worked.
    So my summary is this:
    * I can only create TOC links *if* Enable Accessibility is turned on, but I have always turned this off in earlier versions of Acrobat as I don't need it and it made the process of creating a PDF from a long document incredibly slow - I'm wary of using it!
    * I cannot get internal page links to work at all, no matter which method I use to create the PDF (from within Word or within Acrobat), and no matter which conversion settings I select.
I really don't know what to try next. Manually creating links for what could be hundreds of cross-references in a single document is NOT an option, especially as I have many of these long documents.
    Any further suggestions?

  • Hostname, missing last character

    hi,
I installed the Oracle 9iAS R2 Infrastructure to an XP machine. The installation done without errors, but when I'm trying to see the MyPage, the link puts me to wrong page (the same error is occures with some other pages too).
My host is pamoas. The AS works on the pamoas:7777.
When I goes to the pamoas:7777/oiddas/ and choose the MyPage, the link drops me to the pamoas:7777/oiddas/ui/oracle/ldap/das/mypage/viewmypage.
This page drops me to the pamoa:7777/pls/orasso/orasso.wwsso_app_admin.ls.login.
This is a wrong link. When I expans the "pamoa" with the missing "s", it shows the needed login page with an unexpected error (WWC-414000).
It is the third installation with different names, and there is always the missing last character problem.
Could help somebody, why the last character is missing, and how can I solve this problem?
    Thanks.
    Robert.

it is mostly in the IPTC Field:
    "Copyright Notice"
if somebody has a possibility to forward that one to apple that would be great (unless we are the only people having this problem)

  • After installing CC. Acrobat is missing.

I've installed the creative Cloud on my office machine and tried to log in and access the programs from home. Everything except Acrobat loaded. Acrobat failed and now my old Acrobat is missing and I an asked to enter a serial number when I try to open any PDF file. There was no serial number given when I purchased the Creative Cloud.
How do I fix this.  I need acrobat to do my work?

    Hi Case0535,
Please navigate to Control Panel and uninstall Acrobat and install it again.
Follow the kb: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/ccm-prompt-serial-number.html in case of subscription asking for serial key.

  • Epub export problems - missing last page and 'Page error'

I couldn't find answers to this elsewhere - my apologies if this has been answered. My version of InDesign is 6.0.4 on Windows 7, 64 bit. I have two issues with exporting from InDesign to epub format.
The first is that on some longer documents, which display OK in Sony's Reader Library software, I get a 'page error' when trying to read them on Sony Reader Touch Edition. I have found that I can 'correct' them by loading into Calibre Library Mangement software then saving them out from there. This may be a problem with the Sony Reader Touch software in which case has anyone come across a similar problem? The Reader can cope with the files, but not how they are exported from InDesign.
The second problem is that even when I appear to export OK the epub document occasionally has just the last page missing - a few lines that have run over onto a final page do not get incorporated. These are simple InDesign documents, not books with chapters or linked files. The problem does not happen all the time but appears to depend on just where the flowed text in the epub happens to finish. I have found a workaround for this too - in the original document I add one full stop/period per line (adding blank lines is no good as the export ignores them) to force an extra page in the InDesign original. This is OK as a workaround but it would be nice if I didn't have to do it!
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
    Colin

  • Time Machine recovery is missing last 6 months.

My SSD drive died and no data is recoverable from it. Fortunately I have had Time Machine running for years, so there should be an up-to-date backup. (It always is turned on. In fact I used it a few months ago to retrieve earlier versions of a fine, so I know it was working.)
However when I tried to use the disk recovery partition and recovery from Time Machine, it says the last complete backup was Jan 31. It recovers everything up to that date, but nothing for the past 6 months. I tried a system re-install followed by Migration Assistant from the Time Machine disk, but the same thing happens. Looking at the Time Machine file (using Show Package Contents) there are no files after Jan 31.
I am mystified as to how I might recover the missing files for the past 6 months and would appreciate any advice.

Thanks Bob. I gave that a try but it cannot find any other backups.
I have not paid the $20 to ask AppleCare for advice yet, because I suspect they will just tell me that since the Time Machine files and bands last mod date was Jan 31 then nothing was backed up after that.

  • Exporting Incoming Payments to Excel - Missing last line

    Forum,
On 8.8 PL15 has anyone come across the following problem:
When in Incoming Payments for customers, I click on the Excel icon within SAP and save the file as a .TXT file.
I then open this up in excel and notice the last line is missing from the excel spreadsheet. This is irrespective of how many lines are on the Incoming Payments screen within SAP.

  • How do I prevent Acrobat from encoding # in hyperlinks to %23 when generating a PDF from Word 2010?

Existing posts seem to indicate that the only solution is to manually modify each hyperlink in the generated PDF. This is a tedious and time-consuming process that I would like to avoid at any cost. Is there an alternative?
    Joe

It is relative, but I don't want it to be. The problem is that I don't see any way in either Acrobat or InDesign to specify that it must be absolute.
It sounds like if I were to keep my working file on a local drive and export from there, it would automatically create an absolute link to the network path, but another designer is also working on the project and needs to be able to access the file. I could also copy the entire working folder to a local drive before exporting each time, or manually update the links in Acrobat from a local copy of the PDF after each export... but these both seem like ridiculous extra steps that shouldn't be necessary.
Is it really possible that neither program allows the user to control whether a link is relative or absolute? Should I post this in the InDesign forums, though the issue seems to be in Acrobat?

  • Acrobat 9 Missing in Design CS5

    Hello everyone,
I've installed on trial basis Design CS5 on my iMac and of the software listed by Adobe.com. to be included in this suite, only Acrobat 9 is missing.
Can anyone tell me where have I gone wrong?
    Thanks.

OK mspresso10, I found the answer to this question. It's in the CS Review forum with the weird title "Design Premium CS5 nor Acrobat?"
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/2813218#2813218
They are saying Acrobat 9 comes in a separate DVD. That means I will have to download it separately.

  • Adobe Acrobat X - Remember Last Save Location

Is there a setting that can be changed in Adobe Acrobat X Pro to  make the program remember the last location that you saved to?  Having to keep navigating to the same folder is frustrating.
    Thanks.

No. The setting is remembered while you have Acrobat open, but is lost afterward. The simplest way to set up a directory that you use regularly is to put a shortcut to it in the Documents folder. This it is just one extra click away.

  • Missing Last Letters in Search Results

I am using Outlook 2010 (version 14.0.4760.1000) and am experiencing a problem in the search results list where the last letter of the sender, subject and folder (possibly any field with character data) is truncated by 1 character. For example, if the sender's
name is "John Smith", this would be displayed as "John Smit", "Inbox" is displayed as "Inbo".
Outlook is set up as a POP3 client and uses 2 Data Files.  The problem only seems to occur with search results from the default data file.
It looks to me like this is a bug. Any ideas?

    Hi,
Thank you for using Outlook IT Pro Discussions forum.
From your description, I understand that the last letters of the searched results are
missing in Outlook. If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.
    This behavior is very strange.
We can try to create a new profile to test the issue.
Here are the detailed steps on how to create a new profile to test this issue
    ==============
    1.
    Exit
    Outlook.
    2.
    Go to
Start > Control Panel, click or double-click
    Mail.
Mail appears in different Control Panel locations depending upon the version of the Microsoft Windows operating system, Control Panel
view selected, and whether a 32- or 64-bit operating system or version of Outlook is installed.
    The easiest way to locate
Mail is to open Control Panel in Windows, and then in the
Search box at the top of window, type Mail. In
Control Panel for Windows XP, type Mail in the
    Address box.
    Note
The Mail icon appears after Outlook starts for the first time.
The title bar of the Mail Setup dialog box contains the name of the current profile. To select a different existing profile, click
Show Profiles, select the profile name, and then click Properties.
    3.
    Click
Show Profiles. Choose Prompt for a profile to be used.
    4.
    Click
    Add.
    5.
Type a name for the profile, and then click
    OK.
    6.
    Highlight the profile, and choose
Properties. Then Email Accounts.., add your email account in the profile.
    7.
    Start
Outlook, and choose this new profile.
If this problem does not occur in the new Outlook profile, the old Outlook is corrupted. We can delete that and use a new Outlook profile.
Please take your time to try the suggestions and let me know the results at your earliest convenience. If anything is unclear or if there is anything I can do for
you, please feel free to let me know.
    Best Regards,
    Sally Tang

  • Pages9 hyperlinking and TOC in templates

Is adding a Table of Contents impossible when using a template in pages. I've watched the videos and read the instructions (looks simple) but can not hyperlink or create a TOC. Looks easy but when I build a file using one of Page's templates, all the choices (Sections button in the toolbar, Header 1 and Header 2, select page numbers, etc. in the inspector panel) are not there or greyed out? However if I open a Word Processing document everything works as far as bookmarks, hyperlinks and building a table of contents. In apple's video for Pages they are doing it on one of their Template styles.
Any help would be much appriciated. Thank you.

Green Grocery newsletter. Actually to no avail I have tried them all, to see if I could get it to work in any of them. Thanks for your help.
I haven't counted, but about half the templates are Page Layout and the rest are Word Processing. All the templates in the Word Processing section of the template chooser will allow TOC.

  • Acrobat 8 creating overlapping hyperlink areas

I created a 50 page word document and added a Table of contents. The items in table of contents are hyperlinked to the sections in the document. When I convert it to PDF, the hyperlinks get converted too, but their "hover" area is too big.
The result is that even when my cursor is 1/2 inch away from the link, I can click the link. On the table of contents page, this has created overlapping links. If I click on a link, it takes me to some other page. Curiously enough, the same thing happened when I tried to make a PDF from a newsletter I made in InDesign.
    Any solutions for this problem?

    Thanks for the suggestion.
Now that you mentioned it, I changed the font and now it works fine. It is font specific. I was originally using Cambria font.
When I make the PDF directly from Word's PDF plugin, I do not have this problem. It is only with Acrobat.
I am using Word 2007. My Acrobat version is 8.1.3.

  • Is there a way to hyperlink the TOC?

I would really love if there was a way to get the table of contents to have hyperlinks to the headings and subheadings that it displays. Any way to do that?

    ninja,
I don't think it will work. If you use the standard, Pages-generated TOC, you can't select individual chapter titles, because selecting one highlights all of them. And if you use the Bookmarks feature (found in the Link inspector), you can't copy the chapter headings to a table of contents, because the link won't work right.
But I have to ask this: if your goal is simply to move around easily in the document, why not just use the Bookmarks feature, and forego trying to put links into the TOC?

  • Tunes missing last 30 seconds on my iPhone but ok on my MacBook Air

I am using iTunes Match and iTune in the Cloud. I have had issues with tunes missing the last 30 seconds of sound. The time signature shows that there is time left on a track but there is no sound. It can be a whole album or just random tracks. When I check the same track on y Mac the track plays fine.
This issue existed before I had iTunes Match, and I thiught that match would help solve this. But no, it is still there. Any ideas?

More information--I deleted the apple email account from my iPhone and created an apple email account on my MacBook Air. It worked fine on the MacBook, but then the password would not be recognized on the iPhone. It is as if I can only have an apple email account on only one device at a time!
