ACS View 4.0 attribute problem

Hello,
I'm currently testing the ACS View 4.0 in a VMWare Environment.
I've added 2 ACS servers who are already in production thus generate enough syslog messages.
The problem is that the ACS Views requires a lot of mandatory attributes that are not generated by my ACS-servers. This results that the syslog messages are dropped by the ACS View Software and so the ACS View cannot make reports of it.
I can see that if I check the server status page. There I have the red cross on the logs which means "Mandatory Attributes Not Received".
For example: the "Bypass_Info" is mandatory, although it contains only info if MAC Auth Bypass is used. Otherwhise, the ACS does not send this attribute in the syslog (although it is configured to be sent so I would expect the ACS would send it with an empty value, like: Bypass_Info=)
Another example is the Athor_Failure_Code which never contains a value on my ACS logs (I can see it in the internal CVS logs that it's empty).
Does anyone know how I should make it work?

Ensure that you configure the AAA Server attribute for all logs. If you fail to configure this attribute, ACS View drops the record while collecting data by using syslog and package.cab.

  • Unable to view columns for attribute views created

    Hi all,
    Here are the list of errors I am facing while creating attribute views and while adding multiple dimensions (Product dim and Employee dim) to an attribute view.
    I am unable to activate my attribute view. I don’t get any error message other than:
    Message :      STS.STS_ATTRIBUTE_VIEW: one or more columns of Table: DIMSUPPLIER have invalid ABAP name
    2. When I added DIM.Product attribute to the attribute view STS_ATTRIBUTE_VIEW, I am unable to see any column names for the DIM.Product to add them to output fields. Same with employee dimension also. Now my question is, Can I add more than one dimension to the same attribute view or do I have to create a new attribute view for every dimension. While I think I can add more dimensions to the same attribute view but I asked this question because I am unable to see any columns listed out in the dimensins Product and Employee.
    3. In Employee dimension when I click on the data preview, I don’t get any data. Its all blank. But there is data in the table and its visible when I preview in table.
    4. When I right click on the attribute view or the attribute itself I don't see any other options other than "Configure Table" but I remember 2 days back when I worked I was able to see other options like "Data Preview" and few others.
    Why am I unable to view the columns of the Product and Employee dimensions? Should there be a common primary key between all the dimensions to be able to view the data in the attribute view?
    Please note that my attribute view is still in grey inspite of hitting on save and validate and save and activate several times. And I am getting a warning message, "Some services are not started" on my hdbsystem and the system is showing yellow colour.
    Please advise.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Pavan.

    Hi Pavan,
    To much words and no picture, this doesn't help you to obtain community feedback.
    Can you sintetize your question, maybe even split it in minor questions.
    I confess I failled to understand what you are facing.

  • ACS view DB size has exceeded allowed quota

    Hi:
    We have an CSACS-1121-K9 with ACS version  5.4.0.46.3.
    We see the following warning "ACS view DB size has exceeded allowed quota"  . I can't find the meaning of this , how critical it is, or what should be done.
    Anyone have an answer.
    The ACS has in the last 2 days stopped showing  log messages. I was wondering if this message could be related.
    Thanks for the help
    Mickey

    Hi Mickey,
    The Monitoring and Report  Viewer database handles large volumes of data. When the database size  becomes too large, it slows down all the processes. You do not need all  the data all the time. Therefore, to efficiently manage data and to make  good use of the disk space, you must back up your data regularly and  purge unwanted data that uses up necessary disk space. Purging data  deletes it from the database.

  • Prime and ACS View Server Integration

    Can anyone point me in the right direction for a good doc on implenting Prime (1.3) with an ACS View Server (5.1)?

    Hello,
    I went throuh your query and found certain steps which may help you out in solving your query.
    Configuring ACS View Servers
    To facilitate communication  between Prime Infrastructure and the ACS View Server and to access the  ACS View Server tab, you must add a view server with credentials.
    Note Prime Infrastructure only supports  ACS View Server 5.1 or later.
    To configure the ACS View  Server Credentials, follow these steps:
    Step 1 Choose Design > External  Management > ACS View Servers.
    Step 2 Enter the port number of the ACS  View Server you are adding. (Some ACS View Servers do not allow you to  change the port on which HTTPS runs.)
    Step 3 Enter the password that was  established on the ACS View Server. Confirm the password.
    Step 4 Specify the time in seconds after  which the authentication request times out and a retransmission is  attempted by the controller.
    Step 5 Specify the number of retries to be  attempted.
    Step 6 Click Save.
    Configuring TFTP or FTP Servers
    Step 1 Choose Design > External  Management > TFTP/FTP Servers.
    Step 2 From the Select a command drop-down  list, choose Add TFTP/FTP Server.
    Step 3 From the Server Type drop-down list,  choose TFTP, FTP, or Both.
    Step 4 Enter a TFTP/FTP server name. This  is a user-defined name for the server.
    Step 5 Enter the IP address of the TFTP/FTP  server.
    Step 6 Click Save.
    Next Steps
    Now that you have completed  the basic setup steps, you might want to do the following tasks:

  • Unable to connect to any ACS View Server.

    I cannot read ACS 5.3 logs from my WCS. I have the ACS server added to the WCS. Below is the message I'm getting:
    Unable to connect to any ACS View  Server.Failed to access the WSDL at:  https://10.10.10.90:443/ACSViewWebServices/ACSViewWebServices?wsdl. It  failed with:       https://10.10.10.90:443/ACSViewWebServices/ACSViewWebServices?wsdl.
    Any ideas? Do I need to install any special module on the ACS to support this?!

    I realize this is a very old thread but the answer to this is to enable the web service on your ACS logging server.
    Login to the CLI and issue the command "acs config web-interface view enable"

  • ERMS Attribute "Problem Status" not picking up value in Mail Form

    Hi All,
    As per the current system, we have a mail form where we have added an attribute "Problem Tracking Text" and it inserts the Problem record number in the outgoing email.
    Currently we need to add another attribute, "Problem Status". But when this is added to the Mail form, it does not pick the status in the outgoing email.
    "Problem Status" attribute is maintained under E-Mail Response Management System -> Define Repository
    What other configuration is missing. Please advise.

    Issue is resolved. For those who might face this issue in future-
    Problem Status is automatically stored in Fact Base. There is no need to have them as text in the email.
    One can directly add them in rule policy. It was not working for us because Fact Base it was stored as E0005 and in Rule policy it was stored as Completed. Once we changed the input value for rule policy to E0005, it works perfectly.

  • Make obligatory field on view with an attribute for view field equals to 'S

    I developed a maintenance view with an attribute for view field equals to 'S'.
    I want to make obligatory the field that appears in the window called: Determine work area: entry.
    Is there some way to do it?
    Regards,

    Hi Kenneth,
    Goto the view definition (SE11), and set the attribute of the required field (column 'P'), and make it as Subset 'S'. This ensures that you cannot goto the display of view data without first entering the value for this field.
    The values displayed are also filtered for the selected value of this subset field.
    Cheers

  • ACS View sometimes cannot retrieve server list

    Hi Guys,
    Sometimes our ACS View cannot retrieve our list of integrated ACS servers and it posts this error:
    ERROR - com.cisco.acsview.gui.actions.DataCollectionAction  - Unable to retrieve the list of servers
    com.cisco.acsview.viewapi.ViewUIException: Unable to retrieve the ACS Servers from DB
    Do you guys have any idea on how to go about this issue? Or shall I just go on ahead and re-image it
    regards,
    Adrian

    ODI uses a standard JDBC methods for reverse engineering tables/columns.
    It is possible that the method used in the Novell LDAP/JDBC driver is not following exactly the JDBC standard. What I would suggest is to try the "RKM Jython" provided in ODI, and eventually adapt it with the piece of code you have sent.

  • View Object Transient attribute, refresh problem.

    I have a VO which contains 3 entities joined. I added it a transient attribute with Groovy expression. My expression is : ReplyView.count("ReplyId"); , it counts two VO relationship. it counts normally but, when i insert a new reply, it doesnt refresh/update/recalculate the value. Whats the problem?

    The dependency values referred to are accessed when you edit the transient attribute in the view object. On the left hand panel select dependencies and shuttle the columns that the transient is dependent on. I don't think this matters for non-entity based views since the SQL is fixed but for entity based views this assures the dependent columns are added to the query even if they are not needed by the page.

  • View Object transient attribute (Calculate sum) using groovy problem

    Hi
    I have a read only view object named "ConnectionVVO". And it has database field name "points"(type is number).
    Now I need to take the sum of points.
    For this I did the following.
    Self view object added to the same view object as a view accessor named "ConnectionVVO1".
    Created a transient attribute named "TotalPoints".
    Added following groovy as the value expression of the above transient attribute.
    adf.object.ConnectionVVO1.getRowSet().sum("points")after that when I run the application module and run the view object it was extremely slow. Actually nothing was appeared. There after I modified the sql statement and added a where clouse to select few rows.
    Then it was appeared without slowness.
    The table has around 11 million records.
    Could you please provide a hint or any alternate way for doing this(getting the sum of points).
    Please help.

    Hi Timo,
    Thank you very much for the explanation and direction. I will do that way. I have found that implementing view object and view row class I could do the similar kind of thing for the transient attribute.
    public Number getTotalPoints() {
    RowIterator con= getConnectionViewImpl();
       Number sum = new Number(0);
       while (con.hasNext()) {
          sum = sum.add( (Number)con.next().getAttribute("Points"));
        }    return sum;
      } took form
    http://technology.amis.nl/blog/1295/creating-a-dynamic-ajax-column-footer-summary-in-a-table-component-using-adf-faces
    But it also slow as 1 st method
    I am wonder whether both ways behave as similarly or they are totally different implementation?

  • Attributes Problem in Business Object

    Hi,
    We had a requirement of creating a new Business Object with a couple of attributes(both Database and Virtual Attributes)
    So, as per the requirement, I created my Business Object with all the required attributes. And I have coded the required Business Logic for my Virtual Attributes.
    Now, I created my Business Object's method's using these attributes(OBJECT-ATTRIBUTE_NAME) in my methods wherever required.
    Finally, I tested the Business Object in SWO1(Business Object Builder), here are my observations...
    1) The Database attributes is getting created properly and I can see the values for the required
    2) The Virtual Attributes are getting created as per the Business Logic and I can see the desired result for this also.
    3) The methods are giving desired results.
    Now, my doubt is, when I trigger one of this Business Object's method from workflow, the attribute values(OBJECT-ATTRIBUTE_VALUE) are not visible inside the method. But if I test the same BO using SWO1, I can see all the Attribute values(OBJECT-KEYFIELDS).
    I can only see the KEY FIELDS of the Business Object in Debug mode, I mean, I can view OBJECT-KEY-KEYFIELD value, but not the OBJECT-ATTRIBUTENAME inside the BO'S method in Debug mode-when triggered from Workflow.
    Well, I am triggering the Workflow using the SWUD transaction and infact I am creating the required Instances in the first screen of SWUD.
    Can anyone make me clear why this is happening?
    Regards,
    <i><b>Raja Sekhar</b></i>

    Hi people,
    Thanks for immediate reply.
    Well, I think I didnt explain my problem clearly...
    Well, here is my clear explanation.
    I created a new Business Object named ZOBJECT say...
    It has 3 key fields...
    PERNR(Employee Number),BEGDA(Start Date) and ENDDA(End Date)
    It has 2 attributes...
    One is a Databsase Attribute - ENAME which gets populated from database PA0001.
    Another is a Virtual Attribute - EMAILID which gets populated from some Business Logic.
    And it has one Event...ZEVENT
    It has one method...
    SENDMAIL - Which sends the email to the EMAILID Attribute.So my coding looks something like this...
    METHOD SENDMAIL.
      DATA : W_FROMEMAIL TYPE PA0105-USRID_LONG,
             W_TOEMAIL TYPE PA0105-USRID_LONG,
             W_SUBJECT(100),
            IT_TEXT TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF SOLI.
      W_FROMEMAIL = '[email protected]'.
      W_TOEMAIL = OBJECT-EMAILID.
      W_SUBJECT = 'Test Mail'.
    Populate the mail content into IT_TEXT Internal table
      call function 'YHSENDEMAIL'
          EXPORTING
            FROMEMAIL = W_FROMEMAIL
            TOEMAIL   = W_TOEMAIL
            SUBJECT   = W_SUBJECT
          TABLES
            IT_TEXT   = IT_TEXT.
    ENDMETHOD.
    So as shown above I designed my Business Object.
    And I tested this Business Object from SWO1(Business Object Builder) Transaction itself. I am able to get the desired result. Everything seems perfect till now.
    Now, I created my workflow with ZOBJECT-ZEVENT as the Start Event.
    I created one Standard Task to send EMail which in turn calls up my ZOBJECT-SENDEMAIL Method.
    So when I called this method, I found that OBJECT-EMAIL inside the method is not populated, ultimately, no mail is going.
    I dont understand why the attribute values are not populated when I call the same method from workflow.
    When I checked the workflow log, I can see my attribute values for the ZOBJECT. But in the Method, I cant access the attribute values as such...But I am able to access the Key fields of the method...
    Can anybody explain me the reason for this behavior?
    I checked the BINDING, Everthing seems perfect from this side...So I dont think it's a binding problem.

  • How to apply validation rule for View Object (VO) attributes?

    How to add Validation Rules to VO attributes, just like EO Business Rules?
    I got 2 problem with that:
    1. VO can join multiple tables, and the attribute's validation rules may reference to the fields from multiple entities.
    2. Since the EO Validation Rules only execute before the data actually write to entity (Commit operation). But user may need to input data from multiple pages with only 1 commit.
    I am using JDeveloper 11g with ADF BC.
    Regards,
    Samson Fu

    Just something to point out, the EO validation doesn't fire on a commit (if you mean commit as in the database/AppModule commit). You can also access VO information from the EO validation rules by using view accessors.
