Error applying an image using imagex

Hello,
I get the following error messages only when applying image to a destination computer. If I reapply the image on the source computer I do not get these errors, please help.

I captured the image using /check / verify switches and returned successful image capture with no errors.
Please help!

I'm going to try and bring this thread back from the dead. Buckle up, long post ahead.
Did you ever determine for sure that the issue was a system board? I'm having a very similar issue with a machine.
I am trying to apply an image to a customer machine using ImageX, but keep running into error 1392. This error would flag a different file every time, but always at 45-49% completion.
The image was provided by the customer in a PE image which was ghosted to multiple flash drives. We have successfully applied the image to over 400 machines by first using disk part to clean the disk and create one ntfs partition. We then run "Imagex.exe
/apply path_to_customer_image.wim 1 C:"
That is where this machine would find its hangup and spit out an imagex error 1392.
My initial reaction was to replace the HDD, so I did. The issue was not resolved, so I tested the ram and CPU with no change. I replaced the system board with a brand new one, and the issue persists!! This is basically a new machine by now,
so I've pretty much ruled out hardware related possibilities.
Curious as to the customer's specification on creating just one partition in preparation for imaging, I experimented a little. I shredded the HDD in Parted Magic and used its partition editor to ensure there were no existing partitions.
Using Disk Part from X: on the imaging flash drive, I cleaned the HDD (why not?) and created an initial ntfs partition of 100mb. I labeled it "system" and assigned it letter S. I then created a second ntfs partition of the remaining space,
labeled it "windows," and assigned it letter C. This partition I marked as active.
I then ran chkdsk to scan for any possible drive errors.
This time, running Imagex, the process made it to 77% before failing with error 1392 (again, a seemingly random file). Seeing as how the failures were previously consistently between 45% and 49%, I figured I was on to something. I repeated all of
the disk prep steps above, making the "system" partition 500mb this time.
ImageX was a success!! 100% of the WIM was applied and I received no errors. Fantastic.
I went to boot the machine and received an error that the boot files were missing.
I booted back into the PE drive and tried running bcdboot to pull boot files and apply to my active OS partition at C:, but I received another error stating that there was a failure attempting to transfer the boot files. I ran again in verbose and received
an error code. I cannot remember the error code for certain (I am currently cleaning the HDD), but according to my Google history, it was 0xc1.
Any ideas?? The machine is an HP EliteBook 8470p.
Update: Parted Magic just crashed twice attempting to wipe the hard disk. Once running from RAM, the second time running live from the USB. This is new....

• Errors when using imagex on T500 Laptops

Greetings,
I've been using windows PE and imagex to deploy a standard image to my laptops and desktops which are running Windows Vista (I've used it for Dell Desktops and some T61 boxes). I've successfully used sysprep to prepare the image (sysprep /oobe /generalize /shutdown) then used imagex to capture an image.
After applying the image to my T500, I get a message that BootMGR is missing. I used a Windows Recovery Disk to fix that problem. After that, I get a message related to a missing oobe.xml file. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong? This error has to be related to how lenovo is setting up these boxes as I've not had the issue with any other machines I've imaged using these techniques.
--JS

That took care of the bootmgr message.
However, when booting I get the following error message in a box labled "Install Windows" -
"Windows could not start the installation process."
--JS

• Sysprep unattend file not applying when image is captured with wds (no errors)

So I've been around the block a bit using sysprep and wds. Recently I've created a reference image with a virtualbox environment using windows 7 x64. I was succesfully able to create a reference image, sysprep it and capture it to the wds server. My
plan there after was to create driver specific images for each model computer we use here after not having much success using the driver store (another story)
Any how So I take my reference image and deploy it to a new computer... In this case an HP Probook 5310m. Install any missing drivers and Sysprep it with the following command. sysprep /generalize /oobe /unattend:unattend.xml /shutdown

The machine succesfully syspreps and shuts down. I restart the computer pxe boot and capture the image succesfully.
Now here comes my problem...
Upon deploying the above driver specific image.. my sysprep file is not applied. Nothing from the OOBE wizard answers to the pc logo , or first logon commands are applied ... nothing.. I have gotten no errors during this whole process. I have
started to try to read the logs within the panther folder but havent gotten far.
What is weird to me is that I have tried recreating this image... deploy the reference image... add drivers ... sysprep ...shutdown. And if I boot normally (without capturing the image) the computer shows all of the sysprep changes.. Only when
i capture the image does it not apply the changes....
I'm stumped...
Any ides?

Confirm this scenario: You installed Windows, then ran sysprep and used the /unattend switch. Then you captured the image.
In this scenario there are 2 deployment methods.
1. If you deploy the image with DISM, the answer file generated by sysprep is detected on first boot and settings are applied. It is the same function as if you ran sysprep and chose to restart.
2. If you deploy the image using Setup.exe, it does not use the answer file specified by sysprep prior to capturing. I have not looked into *why* this happens, but I suspect that after the image is applied, it replaces the unattend.xml with the generic one.
If you are using Setup.exe, you need to use its /unattend switch and point to the answer file location. This location cannot be inside of the image. If you are not using setup.exe in a manual method (using WDS) you will need to apply the answer file to the
install image in the WDS snap-in.

I am using Acrobat XI Pro and tried to install the current update. I got this error message: "Error 1328.Error applying patch to file C:\Config.Msi\pT64b3.tmp It has probably been updated by other means1 and can no longer be modified by this patch. For more information contact your patch vendor." tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still get the error. Searched for C:\Config.Msi\pT64b3.tmp and cannot find the path or the file

For AA XI, you only need the 11.0.09 patch. Download from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (Use "MAC" if a MAC is used).

• FAQ: When I apply edits to an image using Revel, does it save a new file or just the edits?

Q. When I apply edits to an image using Revel, does it save a new file or just the edits?
A. Revel cloud keeps a copy of your full resolution originals. Edits in revel are non-destructive, so your original is always preserved (unedited). When you export photo (MAC) Save to Camera Roll (iOS), that's when Revel applies your edits. On iOS the preview is used. on MAC the full resolution of the original is used to generate the new edited photo.

Thanks kumars ,
I have a specific drag and drop area on our website. This works fine for all earlier releases of Firefox after these security settings
"(1) Enter "about:config" in the URL field; (2) Right click and select New->Boolean; (3) Enter "signed.applets.codebase_principal_support" (without the quotes) as a new preference name; (4) Click OK and try loading the file again."
Bust these settings not work for me in Firefox 17.
Yes the drag and drop functionality is java script based and i am not using any script blocker addons.

• HT3275 Time machine error, backup disk image "/volumes/data-1/.sparesbundle " already in use. I don;t know what this means, can someone help?

My Mac mini time capsule is showing an error Time machine error, backup disk image "/volumes/data-1/.sparesbundle " already in use. I don;t know what this means, can someone help?

I had a similar problem and I solved it as follows -
In Time Machine - > I deselected time capsule Data Disk as a destination.
Then I pulled the power plug on the Time Capsule, twiddled my thumbs for 15 secs, plugged the power back in.
Went back t Time Machine -> Re-Added the Time Capsule Data Disk as destination. And then tested by selecting Backup Now.
All went well and the backup picked up from before the problem.
BTW - I also have a USB drive connected to Time Capsule that is an alternate disk for Time Machine to backup.
In Mountain Lion the GUI lets you add more than one Time Machine backup destinations very easily so I think it a good idea to have redundancy.
Hope this helps.

• Applying easing while changing image using timer

Hi
In my app i am changing images using timer..i have 7 images when the image starts changing it flicker and background comes then the new image that is what my problem is
here is my code..
import flash.utils.Timer;
import flash.events.TimerEvent;
import flash.display.Sprite;
var myTimer:Timer = new Timer(95, 7);
private var k:int;
public var imgary:Array=new Array();
function init()
for(var i:int=0;i<=6;i++)
imgary[i]=new Array();
imgary[i][0]="Assets/open_drawer"+i+".png";
if(i==1||i==2)
imgary[i][1]=81;
else if(i==0)
imgary[i][1]=77;
else if(i==3)
imgary[i][1]=83;
k=83;
else if(i==4)
k=k+2;
imgary[i][1]=k;
else
k=k+3;
imgary[i][1]=k;
myTimer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, timerHandler);
myTimer.start();
public function timerHandler(e:TimerEvent):void {
tests.source=imgary[e.target.currentCount-1][0];
tests.width=383;
tests.height=imgary[e.target.currentCount-1][1];
tests.x=0;
//invalidateDisplayList();
]]>
</mx:Script>
<mx:Panel verticalAlign="top" horizontalScrollPolicy="off" backgroundColor="#616060" id="pnlMaster" width="400" height="560" horizontalCenter="-184" verticalCenter="13">
<mx:Image id="tests" source="@Embed(source='Assets/drawer_img.png')" width="383" x="0" height="75"/>
</mx:Panel>
</mx:WindowedApplication>

is there any way by which i can handle this..can i provide smoothness or easing kind of thing so that it appears to the user that it is a only one image..

• Cannot apply OS image to lenovo with usb Ethernet

Greetings,
We have a Windows 8.1 task sequence which works fine on over a dozen laptops that have an ethernet adapter. We recently acquired a Lenovo Helix machine that doesnt have an inbuilt adapter but has a usb ethernet adapter. I found the driver for this
and added it to our winpe image (we are using sccm 2012 r2, adk 8.1, winpe 5). When I use the same task sequence, it always fails on the apply OS image step. Relevant log entries here:

Does OSD have a problem with USB ethernet adapters? It appears so....
Thanks
David Z

Yes, it does have something to do with USB Ethernet. Before conclusion, we may check if there is a workaround or fix for this issue to make OSD work. So, please check the IP Info when the issue happens.
Another way is to use a Standalone media.

• Center thumbnail in an image using show thumbnail behaviour

Hi there everybody
Still having some trouble and no replies from other post so will simplify my question.........
Is it possible to center a thumb in the middle of an image ?
or the center of a table cell?
A thumb that is dynamically generated using the 'show thumbnail' server behavior
Or..... an image using the ' show image server behavior
Any help would be great
Have a nice day

Hi there Gunter
thanks for your reply.
The one site I remember is a jewelry site http://www.mongaglobalexports.com/index.php?cPath=54
the thumbs they list are surrounded by a colorful frame/border that I think is dynamic...... but I could be wrong... But that is the kind of effect I am looking for ...... instead of a plain thumb floating on a
background.....
Hi Sean
Thanks for your advise
I have no idea about CSS. It is one of the mannnnny things I am trying to learn at the moment.
If you could go into a little more detail that would be great or have any link to similar tutorial would be good... but is ok I will get it happening thanks again
So....anyway this is what I came up with to cheat to get the same result I want
First I thought about creating a site background in fireworks with all the frames already there and apply it as a background to a table or cell in dreamweaver... and then trial and error with the horrizontal scroller (using transparent spacers to set the gap between the images)
But I tried a little and quickly figured out is was a nightmare to align the looped images centered in the frames.... So......
Then I came up with a better way... I hope
So...... first I get the site happening a 'list product page' that has nine horizontal looped thumbs with a plain background and I upload test pictures (making sure they all exactly the same size) and preview in the browser once I have the site with all the thumbs in the right place I use a screen capture camera to take a photo of my site then I open that file in fireworks and use it as a guide to create a new background image for the site then I send to Dw and apply as background to the site table. then when I preview in browser all the thumbs should be inline with the frames I drew in the background
the only drawback is that...... I cant take a full screen picture of the site with my screen capture camera because you have to scroll down to see the bottom row of thumbs and that when you upload a new pic that starts a new page ( say every tenth picture, as I display nine thumbs in each record page) the page would only have one pic in a frame but eight empty frames around it .......
Hm....... and sounds like a really long way go about doing what I thought was a simple thing
And.... I cant get it to work yet
SO what do you think of that approach?
Thanks for your help again
have a great day

• Failed (why else would I post). Error creating an image of Drive D:, rc = 2. Return Code -2147467259 0x80004005. "Not enough storage is available to process this command".

Seems a common set of Return Codes to post so apologies that's not specific.
To me appears the issue is related to the "Not enough storage is available to process this command" log entry. Looked into it and some SCCM 2007 issues that were related to too many sessions to the site server, but even after rebooting my MDT server
I get the same issue.
The server I am attempting to capture has a 60gb VHD with around 30gb actually used. The MDT Server has over 100GB free space.
