Action determination with method - how to ?

Hello experts,
I've defined an action defintion for quotation when system status is I1035 (document printed).
This action determination should automatically execute a method.
I've set the action definition to schedule automatically and defined the method which should be called .
But when the status in the quotation  is set to I1035 the method is not called.
Does anybody know why ?
When I look in the quotation in tab actions, there I cannot find the new defined action,
but several others.
Any ideas ?
Thanks Gerd

Hi Gerd,
What you can check is if there are still errors in the Scheduling of the actions.
To check this you need to go in the SPRO to:
-> Customer Relationship Management -> Basic Functions -> Actions -> Change Actions and Conditions -> Define Conditions
When you are in the 'Define Conditions' screen you will see on the left side of the screen a box with a list of Scheduled Actions. Select your own Scheduled Action for the Quotation and doulbe click. In the box on the right you will get a list of messages about the Scheduled Action. It there is a red one ,then there is an error that needs to be solved. As long there is a error here the Action will never appear on a Quotation.
I hope this will help you.
Kind Regards,
Marc de Groot

  • Command Button action is bean method.How to pass parameter or reference ID?

    JDEV11gR1PS1/ADF
    A command button action's is bean method, as follows:
    <af:commandMenuItem id="gbl_cmi_1" action="#{tbBean.action1}"/> Bean code is something like
    public String action1() throws IOException {
    if (id.equals.("gbl_cmi_1"))...
    }Therefore, I'd like to be able to find out what the commandButton's ID is, for use in evaluation, etc.
    The reason being is that multiple commandButtons are actually being built dynamically as well, and the action may be a URL redirect. Therefore, I'm using the id to lookup what URL to redirect to.
    Ideas?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    I think you can use f:attribute inside your commandButton.
    We use f:attribute inside button or link which hold a name/ value and we can read the value from backing bean as :
    public void addItemToCart(ActionEvent evt) {// this the actionListener of button or link
    Map attributes = evt.getComponent().getAttributes();
    String productId = attributes.get("attributeName");

  • How can I stop an action sequence with another

    Hi,
    I am quite new to flash catalyst. I made a side with an office where you can click the phone to go to the status "phone". In there you should be able to call some virtuell people. I made buttons with names that trigger different action sequences with showing the name of the called person in the display and playing a sound file that sounds like a call. Now my problem is when I am clicking a different name while it is still in one action sequence, the other one shows up over the first and both sounds are playing at the same time.
    How is it possible to tell the action sequence to stop all others when it is started?
    Thank you for your help.

    Sorry, I'm a bit confused now. Just to clear this out:
    WDDOBEFOREACTION is for validating user inputs BEFORE Actions and HERE you can prevent actions from happening
    WDDOAFTERACTION is called JUST WHEN an action is happening for all visible Views (it's to prevent redundant code which would be equal for all event handlers)
    WDDOBEFORENAVIGATION is AFTER Actions and BEFORE navigation.
    Check the chart in the following Link (sorry it's german, english version seems not available, but the chart is in english nevertheless)
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw73/helpdata/de/49/b8c706c7c26d7ce10000000a421937/content.htm
    In my opinion put an if clause into WDDOBEFOREACTION, check whether the respective field is filled; and in case it is filled, execute your method; if not, don't.
    That's why I am confused, you kind of answer your question within your question itself )) or I still don't understand what you want to accomplish.
    best regards, hope this helps you (if not, try to explain it even more detailed for me ;-D)

  • How to Disable the Lead selection Action on aTable n How to Refreh a Page

    HI....
    1)How to Disable the Lead selection Action on aTable n How to Refreh a Page r web dynpro application.
    In my case i have a table n user enters data on multiple rows in table , n i have some input fields outside of table for those Inputs fields am settiing the data  at the screen initilization(in Init() moethod by hard code).the problem is whenever the is clicking in th 2nd row of a table the Lead Selection is triggerig and the data in the Input Fields outside the table is not displayinig.
    So by removing the lead Selection Action of a table i thought i can reslove this,
    2) How to refresha page(like we click F5 on key board),is it can be done thru code in web dynpro application
    Regards
    Rajesh

    Hi,
    You did not explained what is your functionality or coding in leadselection. Is that action on leadselection is necessary for you?.
    1)If you just want to remove the action then go to table properties and remove the action for leadselection.
    2)If you still want to continue with your leadselect action, then what you can do is.. write the code in leadselection action to again set the input fields which are out from table.  That is what you did in your init method.
    Page Refreshing
    3) What do you mean by page refreshing? is that refreshing your table only or both the table and input fields.
         What I understood is you are allowing the user to enter values in table and soon after pressing a button the values should be saved and the data in input fields shld be deleted.  For this if you only invalidate the node then the user entered data will be lost.
    So what you do is after getting the input data from the user add it to a ArrayList and then invalidate the node which clears the data in input field. Finally bind the Arraylist to your node.  see the following code. This is a concept make changes according to your requirement
    ArrayList list1=new ArrayList();
    wdContext.nodeAbc().bind(list1);
    IPrivateExcelviw.IAbcElement ele = wdContext.createAbcElement();
      ele.setNo(wdContext.currentAbcElement().getNo());
      ele.setName(wdContext.currentAbcElement().getName());
      ele.setMarks(wdContext.currentAbcElement().getMarks());
      list1.add(ele);
      wdContext.nodeAbc().invalidate();
    wdContext.nodeAbc().bind(list1);
    Revert me if you have any doubts

  • Can anyone share with me how you  write Javadoc?

    Can anyone share with me how their companies write Javadoc?
    Are your developers solely responsible for it? Do your technical writers own it or review it? How do you make sure it's good?
    Right now, my software developers are mostly responsible for writing all the API info and it's of poor quality and really lacking details. I don't mean spelling/grammar-type problems. My developers just don't seem to "get" what information to include, no matter how many guidelines or checklists I give them.
    A very simple example is:
    * Gets the status
    public java.lang.Integer getStatus() {...}With no indication of what status values may be returned and what the values might mean.
    How do you ensure that what you write is actually useful? Please help!
    I'm aware of the method Sun recommends, but I want to know what others do.
    Thank you

    Hi,
    Well, concerning the question what a good API documentation should be. Just imagine, you are a programmer and you want to use that API. You need to know how it works. There can be only three ways to find it:
    (1) The API documentation
    (2) Probing experiments. Even a good documentation may not describe everything. Sometimes, the only way to understand certain things you particularly need may be guessing something, writing a code basing on it and see how it works. Then, guessing something again, more precisely now, and so on. Even a very good documented API (for instance, javax.swing) may require that sort of approach to be able to use it eventually.
    (3) At last, when source codes are available, one may look at them and try to understand precisely, what a particular method actually does.
    I think the better the API documentation the less one may need to endeavor those two last steps. There is actually a limit about it. Without any proper explanation at all, one may never be able to use a particular API, neither after probing it nor after looking at source codes (that is not to say the sources may be simple unavailable at all).
    Concerning how to write the API documentation, that's mostly the question of managing your team. I think, basically, the original source of the ultimate information about everything implemented in the projects are those very programmers (developers) and, probably, some software architects. But those guys normally are not especially eager to write any documentation (especially developers). That your example just demonstrates it. It seems, your programmers just wrote that "Gets the status" for you to make them leave in rest after that. In addition, the programmers normally have such a sort of work and activity that does not match particularly well with the writing literature and doing their main job simultaneously. You should not enforce them to do that!
    To write a good documentation, you will need to engage a technical writer. That's normally a guy with some programming background. However, writing some literature is actually what he does the best. (Sometimes, such people do something else about written word beyond the technical writing.) The job of that guy would be to write the documentation. This will take from him (or her) two basic things:
    (1) The ability to understand the whole software system (that's where his programming background will be needed!);
    (2) To communicate with the programmers who have developed the stuff and to obtain from them all the necessary information they know. That may require some personal (verbal) communication with them, because asking them to write everything again will only result in the same "Gets the status" explanations. However, to be successful in this, the technical writer needs to have some explicit management approval behind him. Otherwise, some of the guys will avoid speaking to him at all (saying they lack the time). So, the management should assign them the necessary priority for such communications.
    Particularly big projects may even need to have the whole team of technical writers.
    Anyway, writing docs is a hard work. But it is extremely important! The good documentation may both increase your sales and eliminate lots of expense on further support of your customers.

  • Conditional Interface Determination with Flat Files

    Hello,
    I have one sender interface (dummy) which could either hold a flat file or an XML file. On receiver side there is one system with two receiver interfaces, one should be used for the XML structure and one for the flat structure.
    My requirement is to have a conditional interface determination with an (exclusive) OR logic. Pseudo code:
    The XML structure has "submission" as root node. So I use the condition (/submissioin) EX to determine whether it is an XML file and I check with not(/submission) EX to determine whether it is a flat file. However the condition does not work using a flat file ("Unable to find an inbound interface"). Could it be, that the conditional expression never is true in case a flat file arrives? How can I achieve this requirement?
    What I additionally do with the flat file is just calling a Java Mapping that sets dynamic attributes for a file receiver, the flatfile itself is dumped on a file system without any addtional conversion logic.
    Thank you for your advice.

    How can I ingnore a message in case a condition applies? I am just aware of the fact that you can ignore messages in case NO condition applies.
    Couldn't you simply reverse the logic and use "not equals"? Or perhaps you can use the EX operator to alter your conditions... here is more info on the EX (exists) operator
    Re: ConditionEditor: Check if element is empty
    What is best practice in this case? Should I use a "dummy receiver"? However if I use a dummy receiver I think I would receive a "interface determination not found" error. How would you do that?
    I've never found the need to work with dummy receivers so I cannot comment there.

  • Sending an email with attachment with method SENDTASKDESCRIPTION.

    Hi everyone sorry for my english_;
    in custom workflow I set a Send Mail's step.
    If i try to send an email without attachments with method SENDTASKDESCRIPTION, the function SWW_SRV_MAIL_SEND return sy-subrc eq 0 and the email wa sent.
    If I try to attach a text, change binding for the step
    ATTACHOBJECTS -> &ATTACHMENTS& the step have an error in method SENDTASKDESCRIPTION execute the function SWW_SRV_MAIL_SEND; this function return an exception that had not defined.
    Thank's a lot.

    Hello.
    Take into acount that the attacment tha you pass to method has to be type of business object SOFM. The attachment is correctly created in the workflow container? Review the creation of the object to attach.
    How do you created the attachment?

  • Determining which method to call from an array of Objects

    Hi All,
    Lets suppose I have an interface, a string method name, and an array of Objects indicating the parameters which should be passed to the method.
    What Im trying to work out is a way to quickly determine which method should be invoked.
    I can see that Class has getDeclaredMethod(String, Class[]), but that wont help me as I dont know the formal class types (the method may take X, but I might get passed Y which extends X in the array of objects).
    Does anyone know of a quick way I can determine this?
    All I can think of at the moment is going thru each method of the class one by one, and seeing if the arg is assignable, then, after getting all my matched methods, determining if there are any more 'specific' matches.
    Any ideas?
    Much appreciated,
    Dave

    you might want to take a look at the dynamic proxy apiCheers for the suggestion, but Im actually already using the dynamic proxy API.
    What I have is a MockObjectValidator which allows mock objects to be configuered with expected calls, exceptions to throw etc etc.
    I thought developers on my project would get tired using an interface like this:
    myValidator.setExpectedCall("someMethod", new Class[] { typeA, typeB }, new Object[] { valueA, valueB} );
    I.e, I wanted to cut out having to pass the class array, so they could just use:
    myValidator.setExpectedCall("someMethod", new Object[] { valueA, valueB} );
    The problem there is that I then need to pick the best Method from the class given the object arguments.
    When the mock object is in use, its no problem as the InvocationHandler interface provides the Method. The problem I have is selecting what method a user is talking about from an array of Objects.
    Ive written a simple one now, it just does primitive type class -> wrapper substitution, and then finds ** A ** match. If there is more than one match (ie, all params are assignable to a class' method params), I dont let that method be used.
    Shortly I'll update it to actually make the correct selection in those cases.
    cheers
    Dave

  • Account determination with out account keys

    Can we do account determination with out account keys? and explains how?

    Hi Gopal,
    Account determination is an FI interface with other modules inorder to determine the right G/L accounts for posting.
    And account keys act as a bridge for posting the amounts between FI and other functional applications which serves as the basic purpose of any business such as revenues, discounts, stock values etc.
    Therefore if you dont consider account keys while configuring account determination...........no postings will be made in to G/L accounts. then your entire business would go for a toss.

  • Uses for the Action Property with SQL and Oracle DB Adapters

    This thread is a complement to the Wiki Article
    BizTalk: Streamlining WCF SQL and Oracle Messaging-Only and Other Patterns
    The question.  In what circumstances is explicitly setting the Action value with the WCF SQL and Oracle DB bindings useful or beneficial.
    A complimentary question.  Is it even possible to set the Action value to anything other than exactly what is required by the Message.
    I ask because of three very specific behaviors of the bindings themselves:
    The binding enforces a match between the Action and the Message, therefore...
    There is a one-to-one relationship between the Message and Action, but...
    The binding is able to correctly derive and perform the requested operation with the unspecific CompositeOperation.
    For clarity, I understand how to set the Action. I. understand what the Action represents in the SOAP scheme. I understand how Action can be used as an abstraction for SOAP operations.
    Thoughts?

    Do you have any good suggestion to learn how to use action property with SQL and Oracle DB adapters?  I learn a lot from your replies for years in BizTalk forum. :)

    Hello !!
    i'm french
    scuse my english
    I got a probleme with method exec(String[],String[],File) of Runtime Class
    i don't have any probleme when my program runs on Windows NT but the same program on UNIX doesnt execute my command..
    When i use exec(String[]) methode i dont have this problem ...but i need the second one methode because i have to execute my command in a different directory than the JAVA program.
    I need that results of this command are placed in this drectory so that i can't use an exex() like that :
    exemple with a perl :
    "perl /toto/titi/hello.pl"
    I want to execute this :
    "perl hello.pl" (and hello.pl is placed in /toto/titi)
    Conclusion :
    the exec(String[],String[],File) solution is ok with NT ...
    but with UNIX ????
    Is there other solution ??
    Should i do a "cd" command before my execution ? how can i do this ??
    Thanks !!!!

  • CSM HTTP Probes with Method GET

    Hello.
    How does the HTTP Probe with Method GET work on CSM and what is the difference with CSS?
    CSS calculates the HASH of the web page it receives as a first answer and considers that as a REFERENCE HASH, to compare with subsequent answers. Is the behaviour of the CSM the same?
    In the CSS it is also possible to insert the HASH in the configuration as a reference HASH. I did not find such a command on the CSM. Is that feature not present on CSM?
    Thanks.

    the CSM just looks for the response code.
    No hash or anything similar to the CSS.

  • What is the difference between action and workflow? How do I decide that I need an action in a transaction and not a workflow and vice versa?

    Dear Experts,
    I have few doubts and request your expert inputs to clarify my doubts.
    What is the difference between action and workflow? How do I decide that I need an action in a transaction and not a workflow and vice versa?
    Your earliest response is highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    SMTP

    Hi SMTP,
    First of all, as I mentioned action is nothing but an executable work item which is designed in the workflow itself. In other words, Workflow is like your OOPS class. At run time, workflow instances are created just like objects of classes. Now, the steps designed in the workflow are called TASKS and the instances of tasks are called WORKITEMS. Now, the work items where any user action is required are called executable work items. ANd the work items where no user action is required (for example, sending an email in background) are called non-executable work items.
    Whether to go with development of workflow or not depends upon your business scenario. If your requirement is only to send an email and you find any BAdi or exit where in you can write your logic then there is no need of creating a workflow. If there is a defined business process with defined users and time lines, then you can go with the development of workflows.
    Rest, the below link will help you in understanding basic concepts of workflow :
