Activating 30-Day Trial

I have just downloaded InDesign CS3 (v5.0) for Macintosh fromhttp://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=indesign&loc=en_us. I am on a Mac Mini Core Duo, 1.66 GHz with 2 GB RAM and 60 GB HD. After the installation of InDesign CS3, I launch the app, select the 30-day trial version option and get the following error:
"A problem was encountered while trying to load the trial period for Adobe InDesign CS3.
Click Quit to see if restarting your computer or reinstalling the software fixes the problem. Otherwise, click Continue to display a screen where you can enter a valid serial number to begin using the product without the trial".
Here are several things that I have implemented to try and remedy the problem with no success. Each time afterwards, I reinstalled from the download:
1. I went ahead and manually removed the preferences from every location that contained Adobe.
My local HD on the computer\Library\Application Support and then removed the Adobe folder to the trash.
My local HD on the computer\Library\Preferences\com.Adobe.InDesign.5.0.plist and then sent the file to the trash.
My local HD on the computer\my local home directory\Library\Application Support and then removed the Adobe folder to the trash.
My local HD on the computer\my local home directory\Library\Preferences and then removed the Adobe folder to the trash. Afterwards, I then reinstalled from the download as mentioned above.
2. The next thing I did, since I still ran into problems, was to run maintenance on my computer with utilities (eg MainMenu, Ice Clean etc.) to repair the permissions, rebuild LaunchServices, repair/rebuild PreBindings, clean User Cache, System Cache, Browser Cache, Browser History, Clean Font Cache, Remove corrupted Preferences, delete .DS_Store Files, Flush DNS Cache & Remove Temporary files. Afterwards I booted from & ran Disk Warrior. Reinstalled once again with no success to run the app.
3. I then went to the Support section, signed in and in the InDesign Support section under InDesign Knowledgebase searched for 30 day trial and Installation coming up with very little in the way of my specific problem here. What I have been able to find is the Script file to allow for automatic removal of Adobe apps on my computer through the Terminal console window. Again I then reinstalled from the download.
4. I now tried posting in this user to user forums my issue at the same time downloaded another copy of InDesign CS3 in the hopes that there are no issues with the copy of InDesign CS3 Mac that I have been installing from. Before reinstalling once again, I went through the same steps that I have described in Step 1 above.
I will post again if I still run into issues. Any suggestions on what to do if this install does not work as well.

It sounds like the trial was already run on the computer you only get one 30 day trial.

    Was the iPad originally set up on a different computer, and hasn't been synced to the one that you are now trying to use ? There are some instructions on this page for syncing to a new computer : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141
    (Before trying that you could copy any important files/documents off the iPad so that you have you own backup copy of them e.g. depending upon what the apps support then email them to yourself, use Dropbox, copy them to your computer via your wifi-network.)
    You should be able to copy iTunes purchases off the iPad and over to that computer's iTunes via File > Devices  Transfer Purchases, but if you have music from other sources (e.g. copied from CDs) which aren't in that computer's iTunes (and you haven't got a backup to copy them onto it from) then there are some programs listed half-way down this page which should be able to copy them back : https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
    For recovery mode, that will result in your iPad being put back to factory defaults i.e. all of your content will be removed from it

  • HELP URGENT How do I use an activation key to re-activate my 30 day trial ?

    I am asking this question on behalf of my sister-in-law who is on dial up in a rural area and recently purchased an iMac with the 30 day trial of i-work. She purchased an activaion key on line but does not know how to re-activate the existing software. She did not receive any e-mail on how to re-activate the existing software on the computer.
    What is the process at apple on how someone would re-activate a trial copy of i-work? Does she get an e-mail with the key and instructions on how to use it?
    Her children are in the middle of a project that is needed for school and they cannot get back in to print anything.
    Need your help ASAP.

    If Keynote is still on the machine, they should only have to double-click the icon. When the application opens, there should be a button to press to enter the registration number. Some details are here.

  • LR 30 day trial purchased education version & activation code not working

    Hello
    I purchased a iMac 5K and had been using Aperture on my old machine. Felt this was a good time to change to LR 5.
    Downloaded the 30 day trial and decided yes I was very happy the software. I purchased the education version and received my code via email. This code is not being accepted by LR 5.7.1.
    Is the download version different to the one I have purchased?
    Do I need to delete the version I have installed and then use the disk provided? If that is the case can I reload all my past 2 weeks changes to LR?

    You’re not by any chance running the creative cloud version of LR are you?
    The CC download can only be validated by subscription, not with a serial number.
    If so, send it to the trash and use this download link for v 5.7.1; then enter your serial number.

    N.B you can use your DVD disk if preferred but you will need to update via the help menu to 5.7.1 after installation.
    Your photos and catalog won't be affected.

    I just downloaded the Visio Pro 2013 60 day trial, however when I put in my email address and password correctly it comes up with this error.
    "The account email address here isn't associated with this Office product.  To activate this install, please sign in with the account associated with your product
    Please help within the next 2-3 days otherwise I think it resets.

    Have you installed Office 2013 trial version before? If you have, you might receive the error messages. Even if you uninstall the  trial version successfully, its product key and other license details still reside in your Windows which cause
    a license mismatch problem and Visio 2013 shows this error message and doesn't activate itself.
    We could activate it manually. Please try the following methods:
    Method One:
    Go to TechNet Evaluation center
    >Sign in with your live account> Get the Visio Pro 2013 Product Key>
    Open Control Panel and click on Programs and Features icon >Right Click on Microsoft Visio
    >Enter a Product Key > Type your 25-characters product key and click on Continue button.
    Method Two:
    If the above mentioned method doesn't work for you, please try to use Microsoft Visio Support Diagnostic to collect the detailed information and then do further troubleshoot:

  • Can't install 30 day trial, Adobe Support is no help

    I've had no help at all from Adobe Support over the last couple days and have grown extremely frustrated.
    I'm trying to install CS6 on my new Mac. I deactivated it on my PC, but when I try to install it on my Mac, I'm told my serial number is invalid. After some research, I've learned I need to contact Adobe about this to do a cross grade, but none of the support outlets are working for me. The phone number says there is no phone support for CS, and the chat is perpetually not available or fails just as I get in contact with an employee. Sometimes it works but I can't answer back even though I can see answers coming in.
    In the meantime, I wanted to install a 30 day trial of CS6 so I don't get too behind on my work, but when I try installing it, I get the message that I need to close Safari first. I've followed all the steps Adobe provides in making sure the application is closed, and it most certainly is, but I still get the message that Safari needs to be closed. When I try to contact Adobe about this, I run into the same problems. This time, chat isn't even offered to me as an option.
    I don't know what I'm supposed to do, and Adobe has done nothing to help me in addressing my issues. Can anyone please point me in the right direction to fixing these problems? I would greatly appreciate it.

    Lindsay Duet I am sorry you have faced so much difficulty contacting our support team.  You may want to try utilizing a different web browser if you continue to face difficulty contacting support.
    In regards to needing to close Safari.  Have you tried closing the process using the Activity Monitor located in the Applications/Utilities folder?  If so then please reboot your computer, make sure Safari is quit, and try the installation again.
    Finally you are welcome to purchase the upgrade to CS6 online.  Please make sure that you choose Mac OS when purchasing the upgrade.  You will want to make sure you are logged into the same account which has your copy of CS5 registered when you make the purchase.  You can purchase the upgrade to CS6 at Creative Suite 6.

    I'm running the Windows 2008 R2 Trial on VMware Player.  As you can see from the link below:

    ...it says it's a 180 day evaluation.  But further down on the page there is no trial key.  All there is is a mention that it can be activated 5 times at 10 days per activation.  When it pops up saying that my copy is illegal, it takes me
    to a website selling Windows 7 licenses.
    I've read other articles on this and there doesn't seem to be an answer as to where the trial keys are, or what process you follow to get your 180 day evaluation?  Anyone have any ideas?

    You need to activate the product in 10 days. This 10 day activation period can be reset 5 times by using the
    rearm command. Once activated, the evaluation will run for 180 days. So you can evaluate this version for 240 days.
    (10 days + 5 * 10 days using rearm) + 180 days after activating = 240 days
    OEM – RETAIL – Maximum 120 days
    You need to activate the product in 30 days. This 30 day activation period can be reset 3 times by using the
    rearm command. So you can evaluate this version for 120 days.
    30 days + 3 * 30 days using rearm = 120 days
