Activating sort menu on user defined matrix.

Hi all,
How to activate the sort menu on user matrix? I filtered user matrix but not able to sort the user defiend matrix.
any help will be most appreciated..

I dont think, that user matrix should by sorted with sort menu. Im doing it so, that after dbl click on header of matrix I rerun the query with proper ORDER BY statement.
If is it complicated query, the normal result I have in user table and the matrix is bounded to this table - then the order by is quick.

I am facing a problem regarding enabling the menu "Base Document" Menu UID="5898" and "Target Document" Menu UID="5899" . Both of these menu Items are not enabled for User Defined Form .Actually I have developed a user Defined form for Purchase Requisition that targets Purchase Order . User can Copy Line Items From Purchase Requisition to Purchase Order and I am tracking the DocEntry and LineId of PR into PO Item's using UDS . I want to Open this PR Document upon Click of BaseDocument Menu .I have tried all the options. I have used Form.enableMenu() method also . But none of those options work for this menu . I ahve also searched about this problem i this forum also but there is no soultion so far posted regarding this.
I really want to confirm whether it is possible or not using SDK for User Defined Forms . Is there any possiblity of implementing any WorkArounds and Having this feature implemented .
I am Expecting a true solutions as this Forum has so many Experienced Experts .

It is not possible, because the requested menus are depending on the forms, and the are not exists,
WorkAround:
add the menus to the User Defined forms, and use right click to activate them:
oForm.Menu.Add("5898", "Base Document", BoMenuType.mt_STRING, oForm.Menu.Count)
oForm.EnableMenu("5898", True)
And hanle the menu event when you clicked them and the form is your custom form.

Can I sort a basic User Defined Table

We have some basic user defined tables, not using the sdk in any way, with an object type of no object. By default, these seem to be sorted by Code and/or Name. We have the code and name fields entered as sequential numbers. Since these fields are alphanumeric, the sort isn't pretty for us. Is there a way to sort this table by any of the udf's in the udt, instead of the Code or Name?
If I have 21 sequential entries
It sorts like this...
1 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 2 20 21 3 4 5 6 7 8 9
I would like it to sort like this...
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21
This might not seem bad in this example, but when you get into the hundreds and then thousands of records, it is real bad.
Also, when we add a new record, it seems to resort the table, record by record, so you can see the scroll bar scroll through the whole table. This takes a matter of 3-5 seconds now that we are in the 10,000 record range and the record we just entered is somewhere in the middle of the table.

I also faced same problem the I started to enter values like 000001,000002,000003 in code. So it will sort automatically and if you want to do in query you can try this query.
select code,name from [@Test] order by CONVERT(int, code)
In udt you cannot directly sort on code column with the figures of 1,2,3.

Sorting a arraylist user defined object

I'm curious as to how I would go about sorting an object that I created. I would like to sort the object by the name variable in the Employee class. I tried just doing Collections.sort(staff);, but that throws the 'ClassCastException' exception. Here is the code that I was working with.

It's not a inner class because it's not defined inside another class, but what would it be called and how come it works that way. It doesn't know how to sort Employee, you have to implement Comparable or create a Comparator. You could change your Collections.sort() method to something like this: (remove the try and catch also)Collections.sort(staff, new Comparator()

SQL Developer 3.1 EA3 unable to import / export user defined reports

Hi gentlemen,
Name says it all. Import / Export do not appear anymore neither in dropdown menu for User Defined Reports, nor export for other reports (DD reports or shared reports).

Where has the user defined variable pod gone?

Last week I used the User Defined Variable pod to define some
user defined variables in a project.
Today I click View > Pods > User Defined Variables and
nothing appears! Furthermore, on the Insert menu, the User Defined
Variable option is greyed-out.
Has anyone experienced this before? What is the solution?

I'm not the great and powerful Peter, but hopefully youl find this helpful.
Right-click the menu and choose Customize... Then from the General tab, ensure the Menu Bar is selected and click the Reset... button.
Dismiss the dialog and see if things are better.
If it helps, I've spent time with Peter on a few occasions. Perhaps that helps my credibility?

CM21/cm25 sorting of user defined field in table area

Hallo,
I implemeted the field MARC-MATGR in the table area of the CM21 with user exit CYPP0005 and now I'm trying to use the user exit CYPP0002 for sorting in order of this field like explained in oss note 605217.
I implemented the coding like shown in the examples of the user exits but sorting is not workiing.
By debugging the user exit I'm not shure where I can change the internal tables to get a result sorted by this "MARC-MATGR".
Perhaps someone can help me giving me an hint how the user exit is working and what has to be changed ?

I have posted a similar kind of reply in one of the thread which may help u defining the User Defined Tabel /Filed .Just check this Out :
For cm25/CM21 : Assuming that you have all the other set up for Capacity Requirement in place , please note the belwo steps for layout design for CM25 OR cm21 or cm22( all you will be used same overall profile )
1.Make sure that you have proper Overall profile defined in OPD0-Define Overall profile .Here u will define Time Profile , Startegy prfoile . Lay out Profile etc .
2.To paint your layout your soultion is to Goto -CY38-Pop down the menu -Select the Lay out Key which have been used as lay out -Goto Change Mode (Pencil symbol)-Now you will find the fields are high ligheted as per CM25 dipaly in a sequnce -You can un chekcde the Filed like Operation , Operation text , Setup what ever you do not want to show in Order Pool and Hit SAVE butotn and come back .
CM25 --> Settings --> Display Profiles --> Planning tab.profile --> I01 --> Layout ID ( Example : 'SAPSFCLA05') which is Main Capacity Lay out id .
If you goto CY38-Pop down the menu -You will find Main Capcitity Lay out Id : Example SAPSFCAS01 -Enter this lay out and chenage accordingly as I have explained in above
Once you save this , then go back to CM25 and execute with coupe of work centres to check how is the order pool looks now .
Refer this threade for Layout Id and option which u may need for CM25 front end

User Defined Activity "hangs" Process Flow if it runs for more than 10mins

I have been using OWB (10g r2) for a while and have used "User Defined" activities in production process flows successfully before.
However my problem now is that the activity (shell command) I want to perform, takes more than 10 minutes to complete. If I run the process flow with a parameter that generates a shell command that executes in two or three minutes, the process flow continues past the sucessfully executed user defined activity to the next activity.
BUT
If I run the same process flow (without modification or even redeployment) with a different parameter , the user defined acivity sucessfully executes (after about 11 minutes or so) but the process flow , doesnt seem to know that it is finished and just says it is still executing.
my "user defined" activity has
COMMAND: /usr/bin/ksh
PARAMETER_LIST bound to a variable which is set earlier in the process flow.
RESULT_CODE:
SCRIPT :
SUCESS_THRESHOLD : 0
by examining (RUNTIME CONTROL CENTER SCHEMA).all_rt_audit_execution_params
I can see that the variable contents assigned to RESULT_CODE look like this
'/usr/bin/rsh -n WINSRV1 dtsrun /usa /ppw /S WINSQLSRV /N JOBNAME_SHORT'
or this
'/usr/bin/rsh -n WINSRV1 dtsrun /usa /ppw /S WINSQLSRV /N JOBNAME_LONG'
I put the -n in because I thought that may have been the problem, but I think its more likely that there is come sort of ".properties" in a runtime file that needs to be set to control the "timeout" of user defined activities.

Activity Templates - User Defined

Hi all,
I want to execute a shell from a process flow. I have created a User Defined Activity as follows:
COMMAND - #!/usr/bin/ksh
PARAMETER_LIST -
SUCCESS_THRESHOLD - 0
SCRIPT - full path+shell_name (/folder1/folder2/file.sh)
RESULT_CODE - 1
I have added it in a process flow and I deployed it without errors. Then when I start the process flow it doesn't work and the Control Center doesn't provide me any information/log about the error.
Could someone please help me on that?

Also, note that OS calls are disabled by default in OWB for security reasons (shell, email, sqlplus). You can read the discussion about the parameters that need to be set to enable those activities here if you have not done so:

How to configure "User defined" activity in a process flow

I want to start a shell script from a workflow process in an Unix environment. I use owb 10.2.0.1
Name of shell_script:           verify_infile.sh
Location of shell_script:     /ASW/dw
3 parameters to the script:     X X /local/db/import/rain/finans.dat
First parameter is the letter X
Second parameter is the letter X
Third parameter is the path and file name I want to verify
I assume it's the User defined activity I should use and the parameters of the user defined activity are as follows
4 IN PARAMETERS
COMMAND
PARAMETER LIST
SUCCESS THRESHOLD
SCRIPT
1 OUT PARAMETERS
RESULT_CODE
So my question is what shall I have as in parameters in the User defined activity?

Here is the solution to the case
First make sure parameter in (owb_home)\owb\bin\admin\Runtime.properties is not disabled.
If it is, change the parameter to the value NATIVE_JAVA as described in the file:
property.RuntimePlatform.0.NativeExecution.Shell.security_constraint = NATIVE_JAVA

User defined java function-compilation error! Activation cancelled

I have written an User defined Function in java for converting XML to PDF which is available at this blog:

User Defined Activity: Run OS Command with OS parameters

I would like to be able to run an os command from a user defined activity within a process flow. I am trying to make use of VMWare's vmrun to control a virtual machine. From the OS command line I enter:
/usr/bin/vmrun -T server -h https://server:port/sdk -u user -p userpassword -gu guest -gp guestpassword runProgramInGuest "[standard] VM/Virtual Machine.vmx" -activeWindow -interactive "c:\path_to_program\program.exe" /switch
How many I duplicate this OS command from within a user defined activity in a process flow?

The process runs in each case, and ends with: "Log file is available", but when I look in the log, I don't see errors or any information that might help me adjust the user defined activity.

The issue seems to be caused on an upgrade to OWB 11R2. Our installation does not always update the VALUE entry when a user types in a value, meaning that our entry changes were not reflected into the deployed process package.

User defined fields reference in Matrix VB6

I have a couple of user defined fields on the Delivery Details Matrix that I need to update. I know that I need to reference them by index as follows:

The problem is even if I check Watch window for the indexes I can not be certain what indexes to use for these columns. Is there a way to get exact index number?
Is there a way to reference matrix columns by by field names?
