Activating workflow

Hi All,
We are very new to workflows. we are working on SRM 5.0.
We are facing a problem with activating a workflow.
We want to enable a workflow such that for x value of shopping cart, the approval goes to person1 and for y value (y>x) of shopping cart the approval has to be done by person2.
we found that this is the value limit 1 step workflow which is WS10000276.
When we went to the spro setting for definig the start conditions, we did not find this workflow listed there. Could someone help us and tell us how we should activate this workflow?
Wetried going into task specific customizing under the SAP business workflow. wwe found our workflow there. but we were not sure how to proceed.
Please let us know what should be done.

WS10000276 is no longer used.Instead you can use the Workflow WS14000109.Please refer the foll link for more details:

ECMA script for checking active workflows for an list item

Hi i am having more than 1 workflow associated with the list if there is any workflow that is active for an item then i need to prevent starting another workflow for the same item. I am using the following code to achieve the same. Can anyone please provide

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to use ECMA script to check active workflows for an list item.
You can use the Workflow web service "/_vti_bin/workflow.asmx"
- GetWorkflowDataForItem operation in particular.

Could you please state what exactly is the requirement to do that?
At user level you can get the curret workitems assigned to a user from table SWWUSERWI.
Check this table for all users.

    I have created a list by using SWE2 ,to get the list of active workflows.Is it corret way to get the list.
And also i am confused after taking the list by using SWE2.

I was trying to pull form the table SWD_HEADER (WF Definition/Runtime: Basic Data), which has an active flag. Howvere I was not able to locate a table for the description , which the best I can thnik is pulling from SWWWIHEAD referencing the task as WS...
Would pulling from SWD_HEADER wtith the active flag set give me a correct listing ?

Activating Workflow Purchase Order Material Management:

Hi:
I am working in the Workflow for Purchaser Order.
Actually I have to notify when an Order have been created.
I am using the BUS2012 and also using as basis the Workflow WS20000075.
My problem is that I pre-configured Workflow in the transaction SWU3 and everything is OK.
And I activated the WF in the transaction SWDD in the start events:
Category: Object Type: Event of the object:
BO BUS2012 RELEASESTEPCREATED
And every time that I am creating a new Purchaser Order the Workflow automatic deactivated, and I have to activate this again manually.
Is there any way to avoid the deactivating?
Or Are there any way obligate the Workflow always been active?

Thanks for your help. I have two possible solutions. Can you tell me what do you think about these?
I entered to the transaction SM21 and check the logs. I found the following:
The enqueue lock for the work item, which was set by the who has been invalidated by the execution of an application met Business Workflow. This problem only occurs when the function DEQUEUE_ALL is called within the application method. The who runtime system consequently has an inconsistent status. The symptoms can arise:Work items have the status COMPLETED although the completin received and processed. The workflow container has an undefined status Deadlocks occurs in the workflow database tables
So, We need to aplicate a note, and the basis is working on that.
While the basis is working on that I used the transaction SWEQADM, in basic data I change the information of the receiver error feedback to: Do not change linkage, and now is working, the WF is not deactivating with this.
Actually I hope that the note help me, and I can put instead of do not change linkage, the standard Deactivation of linkage.
What do you think about it?

This morning I added a condition step in my workflow and created two custom methods in the corresponding BO and used them in the task. Initially when i made the changes in the workflow and tested it, it was working fine. But after sometime, when I did the necessary binding and tried to activate the workflow, the workflow started resulting in short dump.

I tried searching sdn. But all other posts were related to passing entries from internal table to DB. Also I'm not even sure if i can raise a OSS, because a few minutes back the system was working fine and all of sudden this started happening.
So can you please guide me what I am missing and how can i fix this?

When I get acitvate the workflow, the workflow template is gettign active & saved and after that the system results into short dump. And also when i try creating a PR and test this workflow, in SWEL, i can see the below message in RFC status field.

I haven't done any duplicate binding. Also I checked what you suggested. Didn't work. Also checked my newly added code. But I'm not accessing database directly anywhere. All is done via SAP standard function module.
Even if i try to display this workflow in PFTC, the system is resulting in the same short dump.
What could be the reason?

Shortdump while activating workflow - SWD_STORE_WF_CONDITION

Hi guys,
I have created a workflow, which I already managed to activate in an earlier version.
Now I made some minor changes and I get a short dump when trying to activate the new version:
Procedure "SWD_STORE_WF_CONDITION" "(FUNCTION)", nor was it propagated by a
RAISING clause.
When I looked in the debugger, I found the last condition I have inserted in the workflow. So I simply tried to cut this condition out and tried to activate again. Then I got the same shortdump while activating. This time the debugger contained a different condition in the workflow (an older one, which has been in there in a previous active version).
Coulnd´t find an OSS note for that problem.
If anyone has experienced and solved that problem, it was very kind of you to help me.

thanks for your advice.
I really would like to try it, but I think I have found a workaround by myself, so I`ll rather not mess with the workflow now.
Background:
I have originally imported the workflow via XML file, and after successfully activating it, I realized that all loops had no abort conditions anymore. Interesting that it was possible to activate the workflow at all!
So what I did was, I defined the abort conditions in the loop-steps in addition to inserting one sub-WF and a condition.
Then I tried to activate: Shortdump. Thats why I first thought the new condition caused the problem.
I managed to get back the already active version from the Test-system and defined the abort condition of one of the loops. Activate: Shortdump! So the WF had a problem with the changed loop and its abort condition.
My workaround is simply, that I inserted new loop-steps with the correct abort conditions and deleted all the faulty loops.
Now it works.
Next time I will try block correction first.

Activating Workflow for Change Documents

I am working in cProjects 4.0 on ECC6.
I am working on the scenario of automatic email generation when change document is created for project element.
I have used sample workflow WS28700006 and following settings have been made :
1. Make the required settings in the SAP menu under Tools → Business Workflow →
Development → Definition Tools → Events → Event Creation → Change Documents
→
a. Overview (transaction SCDO)
Enter DPR_PROJECTS in the table.
b. Define Workflow Properties (transaction SWED)
Enter the following data:
Change document object DPR_PROJECT
Leading table in change document DPR_PROJECT
Change document key with structure DPR_PROJECT
Action: Change X
Structure DPR_TS_BUSINESS_OBJECT_KEY
Function module BAPI_BUS2175_OBJECT_KEY_SET
c. Linkage (transaction SWEC)
Enter the following data:
Change document DPR_PROJECT
Object category BOR object type
Business object type BUS2175
Event CHANGED
On change X
In cProjects I have I have attached word document, and another user changed it and changed document again checked in again with overwriting the old one.
But no workflow triggerd. In SWI1 transaction I cannot see any workflow triggered.
Is there any problem with workflow and process or changing document in cProjects is not write ????

Hi Niraj,
Please ensure that you have made IMG setting for cProjects > Basic Settings>'Activate Change Documents'.
'Change Documents' means that any change in the Project Objects will be recorded, and not the changes in the documents that have been attached.
I am not too sure about the workflow settings that you have made, but just try with the img activity that I've mentioned. You can test the same by making some changes in Project ( for eg change the Project Status) and save it.

Override Default Page Activation Workflow

I am trying to override the default handling of Authors requesting page activations. By default, an Author that doesn’t have Replication privileges has the request sent to the Admin group. We’ve created several workflows specifically for different groups since each has their own approval flow:
CQ User Group                 CQ Workflow
Consumer >>                     Consumer Approval Workflow
eCRM >>                             Consumer Approval Workflow
Business >>                        Business Approval Workflow
I realize the Author could select the workflow from the Sidekick, but I need ot ensure the correct workflow is assigned if they simply click “Activate” from the Sidekick or the Site Admin (Websites) page. What’s the best way to accomplish this – writing some sort of servlet, using the Dynamic Participant Step, something else? The logic would be fairly straight forward – on activation request, check user group and assign page to pre-defined workflow and initiate.

You can set this in version 5.1.

Activating "Workflow can use app permission"

HI,
I am trying to activate the "Workflow can use app Permissions".
I am getting the error "System.ServiceModel.Security.SecurityAccessDeniedException: Access is denied. "
The user is part of the SiteCollectionAdministrators.
What other permissions are required to activate the feature?

No I don't think you have to configure the App Domain to use workflows.
Do you also have a User Profile Service (preferably with User Profile Sync) up and running? 2013 workflows (like Apps) use properties in the User Profile to pass identity back and forth. If you are going to run using App Permissions the workflow
service is still going to want to be able to identify the initiator of the workflow. For that you need User Profiles.
Also, is your user just a Site Collection Admin or are they an actual member of the Site Owner's group? Its not clear from the documentation whether activating that feature is a permission dependency or an actual group membership dependency.
