AD Group member variable update

Hi Friends,
I am trying to update member variable using
<Action id='1' application='com.waveset.provision.WorkflowServices'>
<Argument name='op' value='updateResourceObject'/>
<Argument name='object' value='$(user)'/>
<Argument name='objectType' value='group'/>
<Argument name='resourceId' value='AD'/>
</Action>
where I am setting
student.attributes.member value as
<s>cn=user01,ou=people,ou=xxx,DC=xxx,DC=com</s>
But rather than adding new value to member, it updates member variable. But in my use case I need to keep adding member variables.
One way is retrieve all member values and add this new values and send as update so it will overrite all values. But I have some groups which has 100K users. I don;t think this approach will be efficient.
Does any one know how can I add member value rather than updating exising value?
TIA

Trying "group.attributes.member".

  • Extractor for Product Group/Member Allocation- hierarchy (table u2013 PGMI ).

    Hello experts
    I am looking for standard extractor for Product Group/Member
    Allocation- hierarchy (table u2013 PGMI on the ECC).
    Is there a standard extractor for product group-hierarchy?
    Best Regards,
    Tal Shalom.

    Hi Lory,
    I thought the document contained an explanation of remote key mapping. Obviously it doesn't, sorry.
    Setting up remote key mapping is a bit complicated.
    First of all go to the MDM console and check your product category field in the main table (catalog items). Is key mapping set to "yes"?
    then go to the data manager and switch to the table containing the product categories in record mode. Right click on any entry and check the remote key data. Are remote keys available for your product categories. I assume that there are no remote keys available - this is the reason the system behaves as you describe it.
    Setting up remote keys for existing product categories AFAIK can only be done manually in Data Manager. Alternatively you can delete your hierarchy and create it once more, creating remote keys for every entry in the table. You can chose any remote system, it just has to be the same all the time.
    In import manager you have to clode the code field of your product category (basically the material group number) and assign it once to the product category in MDM and once to the remote key.
    Be sure to check your configuration in MDM Import Manager, the entry "Do not update record matching field value" needs to be set to no. Otherwise no remote keys are created.
    Now you can import your categories creating your hierarchy, as usual. The remote keys are created automatically.
    You should assign remote keys to all fields that should be matched in a similar way, UOM, currency etc.
    Hope you could follow this brief version.
    Best regards,
    Marcus

  • SwingWorker and member variable thread safety

    If I have the following code:
    import javax.swing.SwingWorker;
    public class TestWorker extends SwingWorker {
         private String result = "Default";
         @Override
         protected Object doInBackground() throws Exception {
              if (Math.random() > 0.5) {
                   result = "Bigger";
              else {
                   result = "Smaller";
              return null;
         @Override
         protected void done() {
              System.out.println(result);
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              new TestWorker().execute();
    }Am I guaranteed to always get an output of either 'Bigger' or 'Smaller' or will I sometimes get 'Default'? The crux of the question is, will the background thread which updates the member variable 'result' be guaranteed to flush its cache by the time the done() method is called on the Event Dispatch Thread? I know I could guarantee the freshness of 'result' by making it volatile but I just wanted to know out of intellectual curiosity if SwingWorker tackles this.

    The SwingWorker object is still strongly reachable from other places even though it is no longer reachable from your main() method.
    In short, the work that is done on the EDT is a Runnable object that has a reference to the SwingWorker. So even through the SwingWorker may have finished running, there are still references to it so it cannot go completely out of scope (and thus, it's variables cannot go out of scope). The references to the SW are from the runnable, which is referenced from the EventQueue (i.e, EventQueue.invokeLater()), which is either static or referenced from the EDT.

  • Default initialisation of member variables and local variables

    I don't understand why member variables are initialized with default values by Java.
    Objects are initialized with "null" and primitives with "0", except boolean, which is initialized with "false".
    If these variables are used locally they are not initialized. The compiler requires them to be initialized by the programer, for example "String s = null".
    Why? What is the use of that difference?
    And why are arrays always initialized with default values, no matter if they are member variables or local variables? For example String[] s = new String[10]; s[0] to s[9] are initialized with "null", no matter if "s" is a local or member variable.
    Can someone please explain that strange difference, why it is used? To me it has no sense.

    Most of the time I have to initialize a local variable
    with "String s = null" in order to use it because
    otherwise the compile would complain. This is a cheap
    little trick, but I think everyone uses it.
    I wouldn't agree with "most of the time". The only cases where it is almost necessary to do that is when the variable should be initialized in a loop or a try-catch statement, and that doesn't happen too often.
    If local variables were initiliazed automatically without a warning it would be a Bad Thing: the compiler could tell when there is a possibility that a variable hasn't been assigned to and prevent manymanymany NullPointerExceptions on run time.
    And you didn't answer me why this principle is not
    used with arrays if it is so useful as you think.
    Possibly it is much more difficult to analyse the situation in the case of arrays; what if values are assigned to the elements in an order that depends on run time properties such as values returned from a random number generator.
    The more special rules one has to remember, the more
    likely one makes errors.I agree, but what is the rule to remember in this case?

  • AD Group membership not updating in Sharepoint Foundation when adding Active Directory group to Sharepoint group

    I have Sharepoint Foundation installed with the latest CU updates.  It is running on a VMware box (Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard) with its backend on a SQL Server 2008 R2 vmware box.  The farm account is a domain user and has been given all appropriate
    replication rights, etc to active directory.
    Everything seems to be working fine except for security integrated with AD groups.  When I go to edit permissions I can add individual AD users just fine and remove them just fine and their access is taken away right away or given to them right away.
     I can also find AD groups in the people picker and add them to the site. When I add new groups to AD, they are found immediately within Sharepoint, and when I delete groups from AD, they are taken out of the people picker right away.  Now comes
    the weird part.  When I add an AD group to the site, all users currently within that AD group are given access to the Sharepoint Site.  This works for the first time only.  Now when I add or remove users from the AD groups, it does not update
    in SharePoint.  For example, I have an AD testuser1 in the AD Group "All Users".  testuser1 does not have access to SharePoint.  So I add  the AD group to the Sharepoint group "Visitors".  testuser1 now has read access to the sharepoint
    site.  Now, I remove testuser1 from the AD group, but testuser 1 still has access to the site even though he is not part of the AD group, nor does he have any individual permissions to the site.  Now, I add testuser2 to the ad group.  testuser2
    does not have access to the site, even though he is part of the ad group.
    It seems that the only time AD group security is working for me is when I first initially add the AD group to the site.  From then on, it's like sharepoint is caching the members of the group and not updating any new adds or deletes from the groups.
     Any ideas?  I am lost on where to go from here as I have tried everything from clearing cache files, rebooting servers, iisresets....

    I think I have at least cornered the problem, but am not 100% sure yet that it is the correct answer.  I think it could be 1 of the following 2 scenarios.
    Scenario 1:  We have 3 web applications setup on our web server ports 80 - Our sharepoint Web app, 2020 - Our My Site Web App, 2040 - Our Search Web app.  We are using host headers (http://sharepoint.***.com) instead of a server name.  So
    we setup our access mappings (Central Admin -> Application Management -> Configure Alternate access mappings) to use the host header (http://sharepoint.***.com) as the default mapping and the server name as the intranet access mapping.  By
    setting the default access mapping to host headers, i noticed that Sharepoint automatically assumes that all web apps are on port 80.  You can see this by going to (Central Admin -> Manage Web Applications).  The port listed all 3 web apps on
    port 80.  So I think when I was doing a profile sync and using mysites, it was messing with my AD security because of this.  What I did was the following.  I went to Central Admin -> Manage Service Applications -> [Name of your user profile
    service] -> Setup my sites.  I made sure that my preferred search center had the correct port number on it (mine originally had no port number), that my my site host had a port (again no port number originally), as well as the personal site location.
     I then saved this.
    Scenario 2:  Our user profile sync had 2 BDC connections that were corrupt and throwing errors.  I rebuilt the connections, remapped them to the proper user profile property.
    I did both of these scenarios above around the same time.  I then restarted all my servers, and at last the AD Group security is now functioning appropriately.  I have done multiple IIS resets and server restarts.  The issue has only reappeared
    once.  After restarting the machine again, we were back to the AD groups functioning correctly.  Because we had the issue reappear once after doing the above, I still do not feel 100% sure that either one of the above corrected the issue completely.
    As long as we are up and running currently, I am moving on to other tasks with this project.  My only concern that it will break again and I will have to revisit it is when we restart the servers....which is never fun.  I will update as I find
    a "true" answer to this issue....  Let me know if any of the above helped you or if you find something I may not have thought of.

  • GetVariable() doesn't work in FireFox for object member variables

    I'm trying to access Flash member variables from Javascript
    using GetVariable. The following line of code works for IE but not
    for Firefox:
    var variable = swf.GetVariable("someObject.someProperty");
    In IE, the GetVariable() function returns the correct value
    for the property. However in Firefox, the GetVariable() function
    returns "null" when trying to access the property. If I just try to
    access the object in Firefox (i.e. swf.GetVariable("someObject"), I
    get a string back (instead of the object that I am expecting). If I
    try to access a variable (such as a string) and not an object using
    GetVariable(), this works in both Firefox and IE.
    Any ideas what I am doing wrong? I suspect that my syntax for
    accessing object member variables in Firefox is incorrect but I
    have not been able to find any documentation on the correct syntax.
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Thanks, but this isn't an issue.
    The window.document.flashMovie will return the correct flash
    object/embed flash movie.
    The issue is that the GetVariable method wont return the
    object variable. When you try to get an simple variable that is in
    the _root timeline, it will return the value. Example:
    movie.GetVariable(_url) will return the url of the flash
    movie without any problem.
    But when you create an ActionScript class with
    userName property and then you will create the instance of
    it in the _root, you should be able to get it's value. Example:
    Flash:
    var obj = new SomeClass();
    obj.userName = "peter";
    JavaScript:
    movie.GetVariable("/obj:userName");
    or
    movie.GetVariable("obj.userName");
    This will return
    Peter for IE and null for Forefox/Opera.
    The same when you use the document.embeds[..].

  • Class/member variables usage in servlets and/or helper classes

    I just started on a new dev team and I saw in some of their code where the HttpSession is stored as a class/member variable of a servlet helper class, and I was not sure if this was ok to do or not? Will there be problems when multiple users are accessing the same code?
    To give some more detail, we are using WebLogic and using their Controller (.jpf) files as our servlet/action. Several helper files were created for the Controller file. In the Controller, the helper file (MyHelper.java) is instantiated, and then has a method invoked on it. One of the parameters to the method of the helper class is the HttpServletRequest object. In the method of the helper file, the very first line gets the session from the request object and assigns it to a class variable. Is this ok? If so, would it be better to pass in the instance of the HttpServletRequest object as a parameter to the constructor, which would set the class variable, or does it even matter? The class variable holding the session is used in several other methods, which are all invoked from the method that was invoked from the Controller.
    In the Controller file:
    MyHelper help = new MyHelper();
    help.doIt(request);MyHelper.java
    public class MyHelper {
        private HttpSession session;
        public void doIt(HttpServletRequest request) {
            session = request.getSession();
            String temp = test();
        private String test() {
            String s = session.getAttribute("test");
            return s;
    }In the past when I have coded servlets, I just passed the request and/or session around to the other methods or classes that may have needed it. However, maybe I did not need to do that. I want to know if what is being done above will have any issues with the data getting "crossed" between users or anything of that sort.
    If anyone has any thoughts/comments/ideas about this I would greatly appreciate it.

    No thoughts from anyone?

  • How can I view the member variable while debugging

  • SQL Queries don’t recognize Package member variables.

    Hi,

    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE PROD.PKG_BSYS_COMMON
    AS
    MAX_RETURN_ROWS NUMBER(6) :=1000;

    Is there any way to use that package member variable in my queries?
    This is a simplified explanation of our problem and it is very important for our business to avoid hardcoding constants in queries and define all of them in a central location. Is there a better way doing this?
    Any help would be appreciated,

  • Member variable verses method parameter to pass information

    Hi all,
    Is the a performance penalty in using method parameter, such as a String, to pass information into multiple methods( method1(String X), method2(String X), etc ) in a class verses using a class member variable to pass the information to the methods?
    Thanks.

    Never, ever, ever make a decision as to what should be parameter and what should be field based on this kind issue. If the value is reasoably part of the state of the object it should stored (or referenced by) a field. Otherwise it should not and so your left with it being a parameter or an atribute of some other object.
    There is little if any performance cost in passing a parameter (on the order of 10's to 100's of nanoseconds on modern computers and JVM's. Optimizing in this area will only noticeably impact performance of such calls if it needs to get performed 100's of thousands or millions of times per second. That generally excludes everything any of us is likely to write.
