AD Synch 'Company Administrator'

Hi all,
We are currently running a Project Online trial for a client. We changed the permissions mode from SharePoint to Project Server a week ago. No issues at all. Two days a go we decided to add couple of trial users to 'Administrator' group.  We noticed
that the users get dropped off the admin group next day and they complain that they cannot access PWA.
The only odd thing we can see is that there is AD Synch set up with 'Company Administrator'. Could this be the problem?
Our account doesn't get dropped off because we are the company administrator.
I don't want the trial users to be company administrators. What happens if we decide we don't want to use this AD Synch with Company Administrator group? Will we as company administrators lose permissions also?

Same problem I also got, this problem comes, when the user do not belongs to the global administrator in O365 and in Project Online Security groups, Administrator Group is assigned, then that administrator permission will be removed automatically in
next sync.
Here the workarounds:
Add those users in global administrator from O365. Or
Remove 'Company Administrator' from Administrator group, Add users manually in Administrator group. Or
If you don't want to remove 'Company Administrator', then create a custom Admin group(Assign all permissions) in Project Online Security groups and add the users manually. Or
Create a Custom Admin Group in SharePoint Groups, Add the User in this group and add this group in Project Online Administrator Group(In Active Directory Group).

    Thanks for the reply. But still there is description difference in SRM - frontend and backend system.
    The SRM backend is correct but when we log ninto the SRM portal (frontend), the company code description are missing some characters. Can you pl let me know where is the frontend is picking the Company code description in SRM?

  • Self registration email from wrong Company Administrator

    Hi,
    Self-registering users for a specific company (ie. Company1) receive 1st email confirmation re. successful registration from a foreign company admin (ie. Company2).  This is very bad!  This issue was not present in either our DEV or QAS environments. While troubleshooting we have tried removing the user admin role from the foreign company admin and self-registering again.  The foreign company admin changed to be a different foreign admin, ie. Company3.

    One of the latest help pages says that the selfreg performed means an email goes to the user and the admin. So, that's why the admin gets it.
    I agree that the end user should also get it - this might be a bug the SP15. I assume the email address is visible in the UME after self registration? Maybe there's a race condition and because you're using LDAP the email is being sent before the email address has been stored.

  • How to copy Advanced Layout Designer report to another company?

    Hi all,
    With copy express i cant copy any report that is done with the advanced layout designer (i think in copy express only appear SAP BO standard things). Exist any way to pass those reports to other company? In advance layout designer i cant save the report in a directory that i choose (only appear 'save' and not 'save as').
    Where SAP save those reports,in what directory of server?

    You can export your layouts from SBO - Administration>Add-ons>ALD>Export Layouts. That will bring up a window where you can select the folder where you want to export to. All layouts will be exported.You can delete the layouts you don't want to import into the new company. From within the new company - Administration>Add-ons>ALD>Import Layouts.

  • Batch Remove from the Company Team

    Hi,
    Is it possible to remove people from the company Team in bulk.
    I can add people in using an import, but cannot remove people from multiple records on mass. I have to remove them one by one in each company.
    I want to be able to remove a specific person from all the company teams in all companies in a certain post code?

    ISSUE:
    I want to mass remove Team Members from records without doing it one at a time.
    SOLUTION #1:
    If a company originally set up their account teams using a Public Sharing Group and selected the Default Group Assignment option in the Company Profile (Admin > Company Administration > Company Profile), then they can remove team members by removing the member from the Public Sharing Group and all records associated with the group will be updated automatically, removing the users you no longer want on the Account Team.
    NOTE: If the company added team members without having created a Public Sharing Group, you will need to follow the steps in the second Solution below. You can tell if you have this scenario because there will be a Remove link next to each account team member's name in the related information section on the Account Record under "Account Team."
    Here are the steps used in R15 (931.0.02) to remove account team members:
    1. The Remove link appears on the Account record's related information "Account Team" section if the user is not added to the same Public Sharing Group (PSG) that is associated with the Account record. The first step is to determine which group is associated with the account(s). You can expose the Primary Group field on the layout, or create a list to determine this.
    2. Once you have determined the PSG associated with the account(s), add the users with the Remove link by their names to this PSG by clicking Admin > User Management and Access Control > Public Sharing Groups and then click the link for the PSG you want to edit. Click the Add Members link and add the users to the group.
    3. Go back to the Account record and verify that the users that you added to the Account Team related information section on the Account no longer have the Remove link. With large datasets, there can be a delay of 15 to 20 minutes before changes are updated. Once this is verified, go to step 4.
    4. Click Admin > User Management and Access Control > Public Sharing Groups and select the group you want to edit. Click the Remove link to remove these users from the PSG.
    5. Go back to the Account record and verify that the user has been removed. Once again, there can be a delay of about 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the amount of data that needs to be updated.
    SOLUTION #2:
    If a company has set Team Visibility and added team members without originally selecting the Default Group Assignment option on the company profile (Admin > Company Administration > Company Profile), and did not create a Public Sharing Group to which they added their team members, and then decides they want to mass remove all team members, you will need to follow the steps below. You can tell if this scenario exists because there will be a Remove link next to each team member on the Account record under the related information section for Account Team.
    NOTE: If the company originally set up a Public Sharing Group and added the team members to that group and checked the option for Default Group Assignment, then you can use the first Solution above. You can tell if this scenario exists as there will be no Remove link next to the team members on the Account record under the related information section for Account Team.
    Before you begin the steps below, make sure that the Default Group Assignment is now enabled in the Company Profile (Click the Admin Link > Company Administration> Company Profile > under the Company Data Visibility Settings section> select Default Group Assignment).
    1. Create a dummy user in CRM On Demand.
    2. Export the desired Account records into a .csv file.
    3. In the .csv file change the owner of the Account records to the dummy user and save your changes. CAUTION: Make certain that you save the updated file under a new name so that the file with the original Account owner stays in tact.
    4. Create a new Public Sharing Group and add all members that need to be deleted from the Account Team, including the dummy user you created. To do this go to Admin > User Management & Access Controls > Public Sharing Groups.
    5. Perform the Account import to overwrite the current Account record owner with the dummy user. This will remove the Remove button in the Account Team for each user because the Account record is now associated with the new Public Sharing Group you just created.
    6. Go to the new Public Sharing Group that you created and delete the users one by one. Do not delete the Public Sharing Group yet.
    7. Go back to your export file that contains the original Account owner and re-import that file so that the original Account owner overwrites the dummy user, doing so will automatically remove from the Account Team the users that you deleted from the Public Sharing Group in Step 6.
    8. Verify that the team members were removed from the Account records and then delete the new Public Sharing Group that you created. NOTE: This could take some time depending on how many records are involved.

    I am having the permission of Company Administrator of that site but still unable to find
    Device Channel on Site Setting. still I gave the user full control from Site Permission but nothing is happening.

  • New front end editor problem

    I'm quite new on this forum, so don't be so angry if I'm asking about something that someone else was asking for, by i didn't found answer on my question.
    So...
    In my company, administrator made some updates in 4.7, after that updates new front end editor is avalible (this with code colorin, code hinting, code folding etc).
    But I have some problem with keyboard mapping scheme. When i try to save my own setting or change keymapping to another one, SAP stop responding (it's not a crash with short dump but simple aplication freezing). I tried to find some solution to this behaviour but I didn't found it yet.
    My question is:
    1) Did someone else have the same behaviour as I?
    2) Where to find SAP notes about front end editor?

    Keymapping settings in file:
    C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\ab4_data\keymap.xml
    You should also check the following dir:
    c:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SapGui\ab4_data\
    During patch installation this dir is overwritten, and during the first use of the new editor, the files from here copied to the <username>\ab4_data dir, where you can change them.
    Might be permission problem, I can imagine, that if you have no authorization to change these files, the GUI starts hanging or chrashing.

    Can someone point me to righ direction? What we are trying to do is, in Infoview, set PDF as default selection for "Select printing Control (for Web)", so that each user does not have to do this in preferences in infoview.

    Take a look for a .vbs sample that synchs the ADMINISTRATOR preferences to all users on the BOE platform.
    You can schedule this as a PROGRAM OBJECT in InfoView so that it runs on a regular schedule to apply the change to new users.

    Hi,
    In Oracle CRM On Demand R20, displaying content in an IFRAME has been disabled due to potential security Risks. However you can enable this option on the Company Profile.
    Goto Admin --> Company Administration --> Company Profile --> In Security Settings, Check the option where it says "enable IFRAME embedding"
    After you enable this option, log out and in again and should be able to view the your CRM content in an IFRAME.
    NOTE: Please consider the security risks before you enable this option

    For initialization error, this is a solution from SAP Note:
    Solution
    1) Check on your MS SQL Server (Enterprise Manager) your server and use the right mouse click and choose "Properties". Select the
    "Security" Tab and then select under Authentification "SQL Server and Windows". Change if not selected and try to start the addons again.
    2) In the "Choose Company" (Administration>Choose Company) choose Current Server "Change" make sure that the "Use Trusted Connection" is de-selected. De-select and try to start again.
    3) When you start SAP Business One in the initial Logon Screen in the left corner make sure that the "Use NT Authentification" is de-selected.
    For resource error, the solution from SAP note:
    This error usualy occurs after an upgrade. To resolve this error, please do the following:
       1. Locate the Temp folder by going to Start -> Run and type %temp%.
       2. Locate the SM_OBS_DLL folder and rename it.
       3. Uninstall the DI API from Add/Remove Programs.
       4. Install the DI API from the latest patch.
       5. Connect to the addon again and the SM_OBS_DLL folder will be recreated and replaced with the latest version. You should now be able to connect sucessfully.

  • Issue while installing Project Controls application in Unifier 10.1

    Hi ,
    I am installing Unifier 10.1 under weblogic 12c. Everything went fine till deployment and logged in as Site Administrator to install the Project Controls application .While trying to install the application , after a certain period of processing time, I received a popup saying 'upa1 not found in unifier_bp' after which my install button got disabled and nothing was shown under Applications . However , I could see the company administrator was created and most of the BPs and workflows were also created . But I am not sure if everything got installed properly due to this popup received .     I am installing Unifier 10.1 under weblogic 12c. Everything went fine till deployment and logged in as Site Administrator to install the Project Controls application .While trying to install the application , after a certain period of processing time, I received a popup saying 'upa1 not found in unifier_bp' after which my install button got disabled and nothing was shown under Applications . However , I could see the company administrator was created and most of the BPs and workflows were also created . But I am not sure if everything got installed properly due to this popup received .   • Currency seems to not work in report

    We have companies across the globe and when I search this forum is appears that the user's default currency should be how the report appears. That's all we want, yet when we pull up reports where the data is GBP and the user is GBP we see USD on the report.
    Are we missing a setting or something?

  • ThinApp Updated Package doesn't update existing Sandbox files

    This has to be a common problem, but the discussion topics are not quite the same scenarios. I must be using the wrong search terms to search by in the forums.
    First, the issue in simple terms.. and then greater detail:  I'm having an issue where a very simple app is created, but if the app is re-built with only a couple of changes, not all files in the "existing" users's Sandbox will be updated to reflect the change.  Meaning, if I maintain the same Sandbox path, and it is reused on the updated app, the sandbox will sometimes continue to use the old files from the prior build.
    Example:  Let's say the package consists of...
         ThinApp_Package.exe  (living in \\networkshare\AppHome)
                   App.exe  (original)
                   xxx.dll
                   yyy.dll              
                   user_settings.ini
                   another_config.ini  (original)
          SandboxPath=D:\SandboxFolder\
          SandboxName=App-Saved-Files           (Sandbox shows the original files above just fine)
    Now, if our developer creates a new "app.exe" and it uses a new statement to Read/Write in the "config.ini", I will recompile the app with those two files updated.
    When the new ThinApp package is launched, the new binary "App.exe" will be correct, but the "config.ini" that is being referenced is the OLD, prior file that exists in the Sandbox.  The Sandbox never updates it.
    If I delete the Sandbox, it will be recreated with the new and proper "config.ini" (but, of course all other custom settings for that user is lost).
         Rebuilt_and_Updated_ThinApp_Package.exe  (living in \\networkshare\AppHome)
                 App.exe  (updated)
                   xxx.dll
                   yyy.dll              
                   user_settings.ini
                   another_config.ini  (updated)
          SandboxPath=D:\SandboxFolder\

    (The updated "App.exe" runs fine and as expected, but continues to refer to the original "another_config.ini" in the Sandbox from the prior build and does not update... so I have no choice but to delete the Sandbox and lose the users settings)
    More details:  If this is not a common, simple issue (which, I'm sure it is, and I'm overlooking something... I'm not too skilled with ThinApp).
    The App is centrally hosted on a network share (has run this way since Thinstall days), I don't recall the issue before, so I must be triggering it somehow.
    The overall age of the sandbox is not that old.  I can recreate the issue starting with a new Sandbox and then updating the package once.
    The Sandbox is a forced path to the Local User's D_Drive, in a common accessible area for all.
    The Package is WRITECOPY, except for the one sub-folder where the EXE and INI exist, that one folder is FULL (This is due to the App needing to be on the C: drive, but the current company Administrative rules won't allow writing to the C: Drive.
    It is an older 32bit, Visual Basic compiled app, running on Windows 7 (64bit).
    Just as a quick test I have asked the developer to always write a new "config.ini" that creates a time entry on launch, so that the file is forced to be changed (thinking a forced change in the file should force it to the sandbox... but that has no affect, it still does not update the sandbox.
    We have several, similar programs of that hosted in the same manner.. and have for years.  But, it appears that this one is giving me a hassle and I cannot pinpoint the change that causes this behavior.
    So, I guess a general question is, "What is the decision process within ThinApp that would direct the application to view Sandbox Content over -internal- compiled content if the internal content is newer or different size?"  The only common thing between the compiled content and sandbox content is the file name.

    Hey there, thanks for the reply.  The project's Default isolation is "WriteCopy".  But the folder that contains the config.ini file is "Full".  (stated in the original post).  You can view the INI the sandbox just fine, as expected... except now it is not updating with the one in the package.   There was never an answer, so I had no choice but to delete the Sandboxes... it is fine now.  But it would be nice to know how/why ThinApp will suddenly misbehave and not update the file.  Reading some undertones in other posts, it seems to happen now and then.
