AD4J: Unable to start Heap Dump due to OS Error

When Java 'Heap Dump' is requested, the following message is shown:
Unable to start Heap Dump due to OS Error.
Details of the monitored JDK and application server are given below:
JDK: Sun JDK 1.4.2_08 on Solaris 9
Application Server: WebLogic 8.1 SP4
1. What could be the possible cause? No errors are logged in jamserv/logs/error_log. Is there any way to enable detailed logging?
2. Each time the heap dump is requested, a file of the format heapdump<n> gets created in /tmp (e.g. /tmp/heapdump12.txt). If you see the file, it contains the following:
a) a line containing summary of the heap usage, and
b) stack traces of all the threads

This will reset the Playbook to the factory setting, so you will have to redo all the initial setup

I was looking into the issue you are describing and found a great resource to try and fix the issue without having to re install the OS. It is an article called Mac OS X: How to troubleshoot a software issue found here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1199.
I recommend starting here:
The first and easiest test to try is to see if the issue affects a different user account on your Mac. Each user account has customized preferences and other items stored in its home directory. You'll first need to create an additional user if one does not already exist (follow steps a-h below). Then, log out of the current user and test the issue in the new user account.
If this resolves the issue, there may be an issue with a file in the home directory of the original user account.
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
From the View menu, choose Accounts (or choose Users if using Mac OS X v10.2 or earlier).
Click "+" (or click New User if using Mac OS X v10.2 or earlier).
Give the new user a name and short name.
Mac OS X v10.3 or earlier only: Click the Password tab, and give the user a password.
Mac OS X v10.3 or earlier only: Click Security.
Select the checkbox for "Allow user to administer this computer". This makes the user account an administrator.
Click OK, or quit System Preferences.
Work your way down the article as needed.

i always get an error if i add an Authoritative Web Page and use the Option "Relevance Ranking Analytics".
The error is:

Does anyone have a solution?

Hi! I had this issue and I was able to resolve it by retrying from an application server (I was trying to run from an Index server and that's not where the admin component was located in my topology)

in Netbeans IDE , when i create new a web service project and deploy war file in the tomcat and when i try to run on the browser am not able to run the project. the error am getting is start up failed due to previous error.can anyone please help me out this ?????

JHAT unable to read heap dump

I have a heap dump taken on a 64 bit linux 1.5.0_16 JVM (64bit).
I'm unable to read the file using JHAT (latest 1.6.0 JDK), getting the following error: WARNING: Ignoring unrecognized record type 32
Have tried on both Win32 and 64bit Linux platforms.

Hi Mike,
your heap dump is probably broken. Taking heap dump with jmap under JDK 1.5 is more suited for recovering a heap dump from a core dump file rather than taking the heap dump of a running java application. jmap can observe the heap in an inconsistent state and hence the dump file is not always useful. You can try to create core dump of the java application (if you can) and than use jmap to get heap dump from core dump. Note that there is no such from when you are running on JDK/JRE 6.

I got another solution. I am not sure its a current solution .
Try it carefully.
Finally 1, I take back up -copy of server.xml and common/lib .
2, Un-install Tomcat server.
3, After i have installed fresh tomcat server.
4, Replace back-up copy of server.xml and common/lib.

Follow the below procedure if you are using a Windows based PC. I did not develop it, another forum user did, but I did insert 1 additional step in case you use a 3rd party software package to give your apple devices "Airprint" capability for your non Air Print capable printers (Such as Fingerprint).
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
Remove any 3rd party software which uses Airprint features (such as Fingerprint by Collobos)
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or by right-clicking the downloaded installer and selectingRun as Administrator.

Short dump due to conversion error on screen

Hello all,
I have designed one screen, and throwing error message if perticular filed is blank as (message e002(z2)). If i keep the filed blank system is throwing error message but giving short dump because of 'Conversion error' .
Error analysis : 'The program has been interrupted and cannot resume. |
Program "SAPMZTIMECOLLECT_NEW" attempted to display fields on screen 0101.
| An error occurred during the conversion of this data. '
Please, could you help to understand why system is giving short dump.

Solved for me.
If we don't have value for the field which we are passing it to tablecontrol, then declare the variable with the same type and assigned space for the same and submit it to table control output. then the error is not coming.
Ex: If we dont have the value for the table control field (KOSTL), then declare one constant K_KOSTL LIK below,
DATA:K_KOSTL TYPE KOSTL.
K_KOSTL = ' '.
IF the value of table control field is initial, then pass K_KOSTL to it.
This what I have done.

Short Dump due to TIME_OUT Error

Hi,
We have a situation here, where the monthly data from R/3 is extracted to ODS (Full upload) and subsequently getting uploaded to infocube (Delta). Usually the ODS to infocube updation takes long hours of time (say 8 hours), because of complexity of the update rules over the cube and this was working fine for the past months.
But on 1st of this month when I extracted R/3 data went fine upto ODS, but failed in the further process (i.e., ODS to Infocube) resulting in a short dump. Extract is shown below

Diagnosis
The data update was not completed. A short dump has probably been logged in BW providing information about the error.
System response
"Caller 70" is missing.

Search in the BW short dump overview for the short dump belonging to the request. Pay attention to the correct time and date on the selection screen.
You get a short dump list using the Wizard or via the menu path "Environment -> Short dump -> In the Data Warehouse".
So I want to try out with another option, Since we know the data coming to ODS on a monthly basis, instead of pushing the data to infocube in delta mode, can I upload the data using full update (but of course weekly wise) to cube ?.
What will be the complications?.

Did you follow this recommendation? Did you check the short dump?
If it is really a time_out issue, the short dump will tell you so, but there can also be other causes for caller 70 missing.
It is a time_out you can either increase your time out setting, or decrease the package size in your infopackages;

I am unable to re-install itunes due to an Error 2

I have tried to uninstall and re-install itunes using the troubleshooting tips for windows 7 but I'm still having some problems. After I download it, a message pops up saying Apple Mobile Device failed to start and to verify if I have suffient privileges to start system services. Then when I press ignore, it gives an Error 2 (Apple Application support was not found).

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?

Unable to start netweaver developer studio 7 (sp15) error attached

Hi,
when I try and start netweaver developer studio 7 (SP15) I get the error message below.
I also got an error message when trying to reinstall the software about a file not registering and needing to reboot. Which I did,
I have tried deleting the whole .metadata folder - but the error keeps coming back....
we are running on a 64 bit system - but I thought this would run as a 32 bit program....
any ideas??

This seems to be some issue with wrong S/W choice between 32bit and 64 bit version. Or could be some OS related patch missing.
You seem to have Win 32 bit version and JDK installed is 64bit version.
Pls confirm.

You may want to check whether your Web application has been configured to use "Integrated Windows Authentication".
Go to your IIS, check the Properties of your web application under Web Sites\Default Web Site, select "Directory Security" tab, click the first "Edit..." button (for Anonymous access and authentication control). At the very bottom, make sure "Integrated Windows authentication" is checked.
Re-start your Web application.

Adobe Creative Cloud: Unable to sync files. "Due to server errors".

I believe the subject of this question is self-explanatory.
I have a bit less than 50 gb of data in my Creative Cloud Drive and I'm consistently getting this error message.
Already tried to "pause" and "resume" sync a few times. Already restarted the computer.
I'm running Mac OS X - Mavericks (10.9.2) in a Macbook Pro Retina in case that matters.
