Adapter - OIM - stored procedure

Hello,
I want to create adapter in OIM that uses stored procedure, but when I'm filling Task Name, Description and selecting a database from a list - nor schema or procedure are available to select from the Schema and Procedure lists - they are empty.
Does anybody know what is missing?

JDBC Sender adapter - Oracle - Stored Procedure - Error

Hello,
Need few clarifications on JDBC sender adapter and stored procedures when connecting to Oracle DB.
My scenario is, Oracle to SAPBW. So in sender JDBC adapter, we have used a SP having multiple SQL statements it, esp. one of the SELECT statment having Joins on a table and View.
My questions are,
1) Is it possible to have more SQL statements in SP for Sender JDBC?
2) Is the SP of Oracle DB returns resultset or cursor?
I have tried in searching the forum perticularly for connecting to Oracle as Sender and below like said that there is a limitation of XI JDBC when connecting to Oracle.

Hi Jilan,
Unlike what was mentioned in the link given by you that oracle returns cursor and not resultset is not completely true. It may be difficult but certainly not impossible.

OSB with database adapter using stored procedure

Hi All,
We have a following requirement, in OSB while using the DB adapter with stored procedure.
1) the store procedure has custome datatype as inout parameter
2) send reference cursor as input to stored procedure

DB Adapter calling stored procedure in MS SQL Server.

i am calling a stored procedure in a MS SQL Server.
I configured a Datasource for MS SQL Server driver as Oracle's MS SQL Server Driver(Type 4) Versions: 7.0 and later and provide all db details of sql server. I tested the data source and was getting success message. My BPEL code is just talking with input parameter and then calling the stored procedure in sql server. I was able to compile the code in jdeveloper and deploy to weblogic. But when i am testing the code. i am getting an error.

Insert Multiple records using Database adapter with Stored procedure func

Hi All,
I want to insert multiple records on a database using a stored procedure. I wanted to insert those records using a Database Adapter and the Database adapter should be invoked by a Mediator.
Can somebody suggest me with ideas whether it can be acheived with OOB capabtilities in SOA suite or not?

The use case you want to achieve is feature supported by the DBAdapter and it is possible to invoke the same from mediator.
Please have a look at the oracle documentation and you should be able to get the necessary information.

In the XML structure you cannot use TO_DATE function . Please pass the DATE in the correct format which the Stored procedure can accept . Get the out put what you expected from TO_DATE function and use that value in the structure.

     I have created one stored procedure in our Oracle database. I give below that stored procedure.

This is a procedure to retreive rows from the table student which is having the field read_flag = ' '; (Student table contains the fields ID, NAME, BIRTHYEAR, BIRTHMONTH, READFLAG).
In JDBC Sender Adapter, I set the values for the following fields under Parameters tab.
Query SQL Statement: EXECUTE sp_stud
Update SQL Statement: UPDATE student SET readflag = 'Y' where readflag = ' '
The scenario is every 5 minutes JDBC adapter checks the table whether any new row is inserted, if it is inserted and commit, it will send that record to File. This is the Scenario.
In Runtime Workbench, Communication Channel Monitoring, it shows the following error, when JDBC Polls the table.
Database-level error reported by JDBC driver while executing statement 'EXECUTE sp_stud'. The JDBC driver returned the following error message: 'java.sql.SQLException: ORA-00900: invalid SQL statement '. For details, contact your database server vendor.
Note : If we execute the Stored Procedure ad SQL command level, it works fine.

Sender JDBC Adapter Supports Stored Procedures????

I was trying to use the Sender JDBC adapter to call the Stored procedure in the Sender JDBC adapter is possible to do this???
I don't think Sender JDBC Adapter is supported to execute the Oracle Started Procedures. With my understanding only the Receiver JDBC Adapter will supported for the Stored Procedures using the message mapping Action = EXECUTE and Table = DBO.EmployeeMasterTable.
Please let me know how to achieve the below scenario.
My Scenario JDBC to RFC
Query SQL Statement:
select * from dbo.emp where flag = 'Insert' or flag = 'Update' or flag = 'Delete'
Update SQL Statement:
UPDATE dbo.emp SET flag = null WHERE flag IN ('Insert', 'Update');
DELETE dbo.emp WHERE flag = 'Delete';
In the my update statement I need to update few data flag with Insert , Update and need to delete the of the old records as mentioned above the query.
In the response mapping I am using the Action = INSERT and Table = emp.

DB Adapter - Calling Stored Procedure with Object Type

So, we are using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3
We are trying to create an ESB process that invokes a SP with an object type. However, the owner of the package / SP, is NOT the owner of the object type. When going through the DB Adapter wizard, it gives us the following error:
When attempting to use the DB Adapter in JDeveloper to create a partner link to execute a stored procedure. JDeveloper returns the following error:
Unable to import WSDL.
Error while writing wsdl file
Database type is either not supported or is not implemented.
Check to ensure that the type of the parameter is one of the supported datatypes or that there is a collection or user defined type definition representing this type defined in the database.
However, if I create a wrapper package / SP, it works just fine. I'd really like to not be having to create wrapper code for these SPs to work. Is this resolved in 11g? Is there a patch available for 10.1.3.3?
I think this is a JDeveloper Wizard issue, but thought I'd post this here as well.

This problem can be resolved by granting execute permission on the object type to the caller. For example, if the stored procedure is in schema1 and the object type is in schema2 then you would connect as schema2 and execute
SQL> grant execute on <object type> to schema1
Referencing object types defined in other schemas is documented. This is the described method for accessing object types in other schemas.

Database Adapter calling stored procedure with xmlDOM.DOMNODE input problem

Hi all,
I have been asked to do a POC on using SOA suite to generate a web-service for several database stored procedure. A few of them can be done without a fuss. But I am now stuck with a stored procedure that has input and output as xmlDOM.DOMNODE type.
The stored procedure is very simple as below:

I get the following error

Did I do something wrong? or DOMNODE is not part of supported datatype for DB Adapter stored procedure call from JDeveloper?
The environment is SOA suite 11g 11.1.1.5 with Database 11 XE

DB adapter calling stored procedure and change database schema

Hello,
when I create DB adapter which call stored procedure I find that is reference to DB schema in JCA file. Other DB adapter operation (select, insert, delete) store only connection-factory location.
What happend when I move procedure to another DB schema or rename DB schema?
It is only about change SchemaName in JCA file?

I try it. Change JCA file and redeploy SCA of service.
Next I change user in data source (password is the same for both schemas). Save and activate changes. Update deployment of DBAdapter.
Select operation on service works but return data from old schema.
Call stored procedure fail with exception:

XI JDBC Adapter using stored procedures

I am using the JDBC adpapter to call a stored procedure on a SQL database.
In the adapter configuration I am using 'com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver' as the JDBC Driver parameter and 'jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://LIBOEE01:1433;DatabaseName=DEV_OEE;SelectMethod=cursor;' as the connection string.

2007-07-18 11:25:03 Error Delivery of the message to the application using connection failed, due to: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.RecoverableException: JDBC Adapter configuration not initialized: null.
Is this possibly casued by the driver being the incorrect version?

Thanks for your response, but the blog by Siva Maranani is actually where I got my code from. Upon further research I think have found the problem as experienced in this blog --> Re: MS SQL Server jdbc Driver installation on XI . There are 2 jar files missing from our SQL JDBC driver --> msbase.jar and msutil.jar, I think once I have added these to the driver it might work. Strange that when you download the driver from microsoft's website that these 2 files are only available in the UNIX download though!

Database Adapter: NVARCHAR2 datatype in stored procedure

Hi,
when I try to define partner link as database adapter - call stored procedure with datatype NVARCHAR2, I'm getting following error:
Error while writing wsdl file .....
Exception: WSDLException: faultCode=OTHER_ERROR: Database type is either not supported or is not implemented. Parameter INP_TEL is of type NVARCHAR2 which is either not supported or not an implemented datatype.
Is it possible to wokaround this problem without changing datatype nvarchar(utf16) to varchar2(iso8859p2)?
There should be no difference between mapping of varchar and nvarchar to string at BPEL side.
BPEL version: 10.1.2.0.0

Better workaround is to define stored procedure with varchar datatype, generate wsdl
and then change stored procedure definition to nvarchar.
This works and mapping (java) string to (oracle) nvarchar2 is correct.
But sometimes this could be difficult ( invalidations of thousands objects).
Maybe there could be better solution like add mapping to some files ???

Sender JDBC Adapter - Stored procedure

Hello all, I just read a lot of topics in this forum about this subject.
I found two indications in contracdictions in the documentation :<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/7e/5df96381ec72468a00815dd80f8b63/frameset.htm">Configuring the Sender JDBC Adapter</a>
1. Concerning Query SQL Statement
You have the following options:
● Specify a valid SQL SELECT statement to select the data to be sent from the specified database.
● Specify an SQL EXECUTE statement to execute a stored procedure, which contains exactly one SELECT statement.
2. Concerning Update SQL Statement :
This is recommended if the data has not only been read, but also changed by a stored procedure entered under Query SQL Statement.
It is ambigous, isn't it ?
My question is simple :
Does somebody already use Sender JDBC Adapter with Stored procedure as Select statement including many steps :
- update actions on database
- select query to return data to XI adapter
(Update statement stay empty or with value <TEST>.
To provide more information, I have a reference table to read. But this reference table must be updated by a stored procedure before being able to be read accordingly.
So As I can't do both process with Sender Adapter (call a procedure and execute a select statement) => I want to include both actions (updates and select) in an alone stored procedure.
Could I get wanted data as a resultset ?

It should be <TEST> if you do not want an Update to happen.
Regarding Sender JDBC adapter with stored procedures, which DB are you trying to access. Sender JDBC adapter does not support Oracle Stored Procedures as they return Cursors and Sender JDBC adapter can deal with only Resultset.
As for executing both Update and Select in the SP, though I havent tried, this should surely be possible.

In the thread Suraj response has mentioned SAP note: 941317, I checked the note, Note says it supported only ORACLE DBMS versions.
Could you please clarify about this to possibility to call the stored procedure in Microsoft SQL server 2005?

Hi Sateesh,
To answer your query, Yes it does. SP call works with SQL Server 2005 as well, the SP call should be "execute SPNAME <paramas>". In the place of update statement put any junk value as mentioned in the earlier comment.
But just one thing to be noted, the select or any other query returning the desired resultset must be the first statement in youre SP returning value to the calling app. Means if there are any update, deletion or intermediate select queries to be used with in your SP, those all should be placed after the Main Select query that returns the desired resultset. Variable declarions and assignments are allowed.
But if the seq of statements in your SP are like:
@var1 Varchar
Update <tablename>....
Select * from <tablename>
Then the output of the SP is :
1 row updated
<the resultset from select>
In such cases, PI can recognise the first value returned only, that is "1 row updated" and hence the returned resultset wouldn't be seen by PI or not be passed to integration engine. Hence the update should come after the main Select.
One more interesting piece of information, even if you copy and paste the entire SP code in place of the query string of Sender JDBC adapter, that too will work with all your variable declarations, multiple queries and updates and everything. Just have to follow the above rule.
