Adapting Crystal Reports to a New System

Hi guys
I'm implementing Best Practices for BI (based on BO Edge XI 3.1) ver. 1.31.
My backend system is ECC 6.0 EhP3.
Now I'm trying to import some reports from Crystal Reports to the ECC system, but it says the user I'm specifying in the "Set Datasource Location" dialog box has not got enough rights.
The user has roles CRYSTAL_DESIGNER and CRYSTAL_ENTITLEMENT, and in addition it has profiles SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW and X_REST.
Can you please tell me what I'm missing?

Crystal reports error on new server

I'm trying to run a web application that uses crystal reports on a new web server. I recently installed Crystal on the new server and migrated the website over to it.
When I try to generate the reports on the website I get the following error: An error has occurred while attempting to load the Crystal Reports runtime. Either the Crystal Reports registry key permissions are insufficient, or the Crystal Reports runtime is not installed correctly. Please install the appropriate Crystal Reports redistributable (CRRedist*.msi) containing the correct version of the Crystal Reports runtime (x86, x64, or Itanium) required.
I have search for a runtime file and found one off of the site for Crystal Reports 2008, however, after installing, the error is still happening.
How do I know what to install and where to find it?

The error occurs because you haven't configured IIS to run in 32 bit mode. See note 1200907 for more info. There are no native 64 bit assemblies for Crystal Reports XI R2 or Crystal Reports 2008.

Crystal Report Can nt Load System.Web.Extensions Version=2.0.0.0.

I have an application that I created in ASP.NET 1.1 that I subsequently upgraded to VS2008 - ASP.NET 2.0. Whenever I attempt to run the report in the application, I get the following error
Could not load file or assembly 'System.Web.Extensions, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80131040)
I have installed the Crystal Reports Runtime but to no avail. I would appreciate if someone could give me some help. Below is the source of the form containing the viewer

Note the error is re. 'System.Web.Extensions' which is a Microsoft framework dll. I would suggest:
1) repair of the .NET installation
2) update the framework with the latest SP
3) see if you can crate a new app - without Crystal Reports using the 'System.Web.Extensions' assembly
4) see if you can create a new app using Crystal Reports (One line app using saved data report will do; crystalreportviewer1.reportsource = <path>)
5) Download the latest CR SP. As you don not mention what version of CR you are using, see if you can find the SP in our downloads section:

Database Connection error in Crystal Reports using SAP BW system

Hi,
While using Crystal Reports in trying to build a report on the SAP Query in SAP/BW System using the MDX driver, I am able to get the structure of the query fields into the report but on the other hand while trying to refresh the report for data I am getting the error message u201C Failed to connect to the databaseu201D . This database connection error occurs despite the fact that the SAP server authentication details being entered on Refreshing the report is correct.
What could be the possible reason? Any guess...

Crystal Report connecting Multple ECC systems

Hi,
I am working on crystal where I compare the data between to two diffrent databases(ECC tables). I am using SAP Table, function mudule option to create connection.
I have built a main report against ECC system A and imported a sub report built on ECC system B. Now I see that connection in my main report is overwrting the connection in the sub report. If I change the connection in the subreport with set data source location it changes the connection of both sub report and main report. After I deploy this report to infoview, in cmc I see only one database connection.
Is this a bug or can we have only one connection to ECC system per one crystal report even if it has sub reports?

Yes that happens automatically, I just checked the same logic with universes built against oracle data source, I could see two coonections in the CMC. Its like its there is this issue when I am connecting to sap tables directly

Error While transporting Crystal Reports from BW DEV to Quality System

I have developed a crystal report using the SAP menu. We saved the report to SAP BW dev server using the SAP menu and published it to BOE.
Now i want to transport my Crystal report to Quality system, I followed the same mechanism to transport crystal report which are aplied to other BW objects, but when i am trying to transport its giving me a short dump error:

The Current ABAP program u201CSAPLRSCR_CEu201D had to be terminated because it has come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
Function module u201C/CRYSTAL/PUBLISH_REPORTu201D was called

This parameter is not defined.
This is first time i am transporting any crystal report to other bw system.

Hi,
I would suggest you open a case with support so that they can look at your system. In general you should be able to transport the Crystal REports object in the same way you transport a Bex query.

Error Connecting SAP Business One and Crystal Report

I installed Crystal Report 2008 on my system for creating a report in Crystals.
I clicked on "New Report" and it opened a window called "Database Exert." However, when I look in the Database Expert, I cannot see "SAP Business One" in it. How can I connect SAP Business One 8.8 with Crystal Report?

On your computer, locate the Crystal folder according to the following directory path: C:\Program Files\SAP\SAP Business One\Crystal. Then double-click the file: SAP Business One Crystal Report Integration Package.exe. and follow the step of the setup status screen.

Ya you are right, for what i know, Inforview is not possible to open a subreport from a RPT file in a new windows as well.

When i posted the question for help, i just want to know if i could display a crystal report on a new window.
My situation is that i have a page that is size 3in x 3in ( Just a small static graph ) and i wanna attached a A4 report. In order to have a nicer view at inforview ( 3in x 3in border box ), i will need to reduced the size of the crystal report. The size of the main report is now properly change, but it affects the view for the sub report ( As subreport is A4 size, the system display the A4 size document in a serveral 3in x 3in page. -_-"' ).

I wanna try out your solution, but i can't find the hyperlink tab in perference option ( in inforview ).
I manage to solved my problem (suitation that i have explain to Wallie Cheng ). That is to created a hyperlink to the report. Rather than a subreport link.

Logon fail when creating Connection in Crystal Reports SP3

Greetings,
I am working on an issue where we have installed the SAP GUI 7.10, Crystal reports 2008 SP3, and SAP IK FP 3.1.
We are testing the access to ECC. We have setup the server in the GUI and can successfully logon to the server in the GUI. We open Crystal Reports, select File -> New -> Standard Report, scroll down to SAP Table, Cluster, or Function, and the SAP System Logon window pops up.
Select the ECC system, click Next, and input the logon info for the system. Click Next and do not check the box for generating a RFC trace file, then click finish.
This results in a new window popping up. The title is Crystal Reports, and the contents of the window are as follows...
Logon failed.
Details: <bunch of Chinese characters>.<more Chinese characters>
We are using the language setting of EN on the SAP server, and in the GUI configuration. Not sure why we are getting Chinese (we have verified it as Chinese with a person here who can read some Chinese. he says that the first part is "something about server not valid")
We asked a user who does have a working install using CR 2K8 SP2 and SAP IK SP2 to try the login and he had the same results on this system.
We can use the same SAP account to login to InfoView without an issue.
Any suggestions?

i had the same problem.
it has something to do with the sap gui logon settings.
1. go to your SAP logon ECC-properties (start sap-logon; right-click on your ecc connection)
2. go to the Codepage-Tab
3. set Language to default (standard)
then it should work.

Memory Leak in Crystal Report XI

We are using Crystal Reports XI Licensed Developer version for web based application. The generated reports are getting accessed by multiple users from web interface. After continuos access of reports, at some point it reaches the maximum limit of Application pool and it stops the application.
From number of web forms, we found that crystal reports are not releasing systems memory and it keeps adding extra load on memory after a single report generation or there is memory leak. Below are the code snippets to initialize and dispose of report object.

Crystal Report 2013 - Data not displayed

Dear All
I created one report connecting to SAP Tables directly.
a) I made a new connection - connecting to SAP tables directly.
b) It is connected successuly. It shows all related tables correctly.
c) I selected a table MARA
d) I selected the fields MATNR, ERNAM   (for example)
Completed the report.
But on executing, the data is not displayed.. It idspayes 0 records selcted.. ( no errors also )
Can someone help me... Why the dta is is not fetched...

Reproducing the Issue
    Verify from the SAP Customer Relationship Management System that the table or function to which Crystal Report will connect to has data.
    In Crystal Report, create a new report using the connection: SAP Table, Cluster, or Function.
    The new connection will use the Open SQL driver to connect to the table of SAP System.
    Add database fields to the Details section of the report.
    Refresh the report.
    The report returns no data.
Cause
    This is an SAP Netweaver Gateway issue that prevents Crystal Reports from retrieving data.
    When looking at the Crystal Reports logs, you will notice the SAP Gateway Connection to the SAP Netweaver System fails with the error:

Resolution
    To resolve this issue, consult your SAP BASIS Administrator to update the SAP Gateway to allow your user, or computer, or application to connect to the SAP System. For more information see SAP Note 1408081 - Basic settings for reg_info and sec_info.

BusinessObject 4.0 API to get SQL statement from webi or crystal report

Hello,
Need your help.... could you confirm whether BusinessObjects 4.0 provides any SDK, API or Web Service to get physical SQL statement from the webi or crystal reports file?
If so, could you provide name of package, class and method?
If I am not wrong, there is an SDK in v3.0 that allows to extract the SQL. But I am reading a lot on these forums that lot of SDK classes and functions are deprecated / removed in v4.0.

For Crystal Reports in BI 4.0 to retrieve the SQL query you can use Report Application Server SDK. Here is a code snippet that retrieves the SQL statement.
