Add a Drop down menu / Combo Box into a specified cell of a multi column lsit box
Hello,
i have a question how to manipulate a cell of a multi column list box in that way that i can add a drop down menu or a combo box in this cell?
Is this possible in LabView?
Thank you!
Wow, I took a look at the alternate code posted here at that really takes you through gyration (also a similiar comment I see on Lava) to perform what I've done with a few functions....
See the Pics and attached VI for how its done. KISS, I added an event stucture and changed my first enum case to " " (i.e. a blank) to make it look like the other posted code....

How to add a drop-down menu to a rollover image?
Hi,
I guess my title says it all... I was wondering how to add a drop-down menu to a rollover image? I know that there's the sprymenu, but I need to have my own rollover images.
Thanks,
KazemFrankly, ANY link can offer a drop down.
Take a look at this turorial.
That will get you your dropdown menu. So you have that.
Now, on your top menu (or any level where you want to have an image instead of text do this:
(I am copying the HTML structure in the tutorial here):
<nav>
<ul>
<li><a href="#">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Tutorials</a>
<ul>
<li><a href="#">Photoshop</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Illustrator</a></li>
<li><a href="#">Web Design</a></li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><a href="#">Articles</a>
<ul>
<li><a href="#">Web Design</a></li>
<li><a href="#">User Experience</a></li>
</ul>
</li>
<li><a href="#">Inspiration</a></li>
</ul>
</nav>
Now, let's pretend you want an image instead of the word "Articles." You'll want the image to be sized appropriately, and if you look at the CSS, you'll see it's 112 pixels wide by 52 high. If your image is approximately those dimensions, you're all set.
So instead of "articles" you insert your image.

Using Visio for Web UI mockups - how do I add a drop-down menu?
I found the control shapes and I see there is a listbox and a "drop down" but I want to save this visio file as html and have a few links that navigate to the different "pages"if possible.
Is it possible to actually create a dropdown menu and have it rendered in the html?If you are asking if it is possible to turn a mockup "drop down" or "list" shape into a real HTML "select" control when doing a web export - then no, it's not possible.
If you just need a way to navigate on the exported web page, then note that Visio web export supports multiple pages; you can navigate between those by selecting them in Visio-provided navigation menu. Also, you can use normal hyperlinks to navigate to other
locations/pages.

How to add my drop down menu to my website
I have been following a dreamweaver video to create a drop down menu with pure css which has turned out great. My problem is when you follow a video I followed the instructions and started a new html and then attached the css styles to the new html called "dropdownmenu". But as I don't know how to put it in my index page. I understand that css is the rules but how to I get it in my website. Most prob an easy one for all you experts out there!
I hope someone will help me please.
Thanks Karen
Oh im useing cs5.5Thank you very much for taking you time to answer me. I have managed to do this but I get a bit confused with the files so I hope you can just help on this one!
I went to duplicate the dropdown.css file and put it in my css folder but the file was already there, also a link was in the css file altough it did not have "media=screen". I duplicated the dropdown.css and put it in my dropdown.html, not sure if that is right. This is how I have set out my files. Folder - dropdown
-navMenu.html
-dropdown.css
Folder - css
- dropdown.css
-styles.css
My index page link between the "head" is <link href="css/styles.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" /> ----so am I right in saying that the styles.css is determing the index page at mo and any future pages if I want.
And the link from the navMenu.html is <link href="../css/dropdown.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />------and this is getting the information from the dropdown css.
If I am correct do I need both copies of the dropdown.css? I hope this is nice and clear for you!
Once again thank you very much for your help.... it is very much appreciated! I spend most of my time learning from youtube and don't really like to bother people but after an hour of scratching my head I gave up! -

How to extract information in cells of a mult-column list box?
I have multi column list box. At run time this listbox allow me to select entire row (this is fine), how to extract the data from each cell along the selected row? It seems to me that the Multi column Listbox (MCL) is merely a 1D array (I guess index of this 1D array corresponds to row index of the MCL and value of the element corresponds to column index of MCL.)
To extract cell values of the selected row, you can create a property node for the MCL. From this property node, choose "Item Names". This is a 2D array containing all cell values. Index this array with the MCL terminal. Note that you must choose the scalar data type for the MCL. To choose the scalar data type, right click on the MCL and go to "Selection Mode"->"Data Type"->"Scalar".
See attachment written with LabVIEW 6.
I hope it will help you.

Need help placing my drop down menu from flash into Dreamweaver
I had this working once. I am ping one you smart ones can help me out wuth this. WHat am I doing wrong?
I have not used any CSS to code my website, have purely used tables in a html template.
Sorry to say, but you can't make drop-down menus without CSS code. Which begs the broader question, why are you afraid of learning CSS? It's much more efficient than tables and you can do so much more creative stuff with it.

How to make table cell drop down menu from an existing range in cell
Is this possible?? Checked all over the web & coming up empty. Trying to avoid re-typing in contents from previously created tables in the cell format pop-up menu. Please help.
I don't think there is an easy way to do this unless Yvan comes up with a script for you.
One option is to select the range of cells and copy/paste to TextEdit (yes, surprisingly it'll take a range of cells) then from TextEdit you can copy/paste each cell's contents one at a time to the popup menu list. Still a pain but it might be easier than other methods. The workflow I found quickest was to position TextEdit near the Inspector pane (which is open to the Cell inspector with your popup in it) and have the top of the Numbers window nearby. Double click on one cell's contents in TextEdit then Cmd-C to copy, click on the Numbers window up in the toolbar to make Numbers active again without selecting a different cell, then put the contents in the inspector (hit + then paste with Cmd-V). Repeat.

Reading from HTML Drop-Down Menu into JSP
Hi folks. I'm am just delving into JSP, and I have a very basic question. I've been looking around the internet for a good tutorial on how to read HTML form input data into my JSP page. I really haven't found anything, and was hoping that you could provide me with some good resources. I want to have just a basic HTML drop-down menu with a SQL query executed based on the menu selection. The selection from the drop-down menu should go into the SQL query where "Shawnee" currently is. Here is my JSP code:
<%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=windows-1252" import="java.sql.*"%>
<%
try
Class.forName("net.sourceforge.jtds.jdbc.Driver");
Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:jtds:sqlserver://khrcs4:1433/Mail_List;user=xxxx;password=xxxx");
System.out.println("success");
Statement st = con.createStatement();
ResultSet rs = st.executeQuery("select * from contacts where class like '%First Time Home Buyer Lenders%' and served like '%Shawnee%' order by company");
while(rs.next())
out.println(rs.getString(3)+"<br>"); //company
out.println(rs.getString(12)+"<br>"); //address
//out.println(rs.getString(13)+"<br>"); //address2
out.println(rs.getString(8)+", "+rs.getString(9)+" "+rs.getString(14)+"<br>"); //city, state zip
out.println(rs.getString(7)+"<br><br>"); //phone
catch (Exception ex)
ex.printStackTrace();
%>ArrayList recList = new ArrayList();
while(rs.next())
recList.add(rs.getString(3));
put the recList in the session.
session.setAttribute("allrecords",recList);
Then in your jsp, get the recList from the session and loop it,
ArrayList recList = (ArrayList)session.getAttribute("allrecords");
for (var i=0; i < recList.size();++i){
addOption(document.getElementById("drop-down box name"), valarray, valarray[i]);
function addOption(selectbox,text,value)
var optn = document.createElement("OPTION");
optn.text = trim(text);
optn.value = trim(value);
selectbox.options.add(optn); -
I am creating a form to be used for patient care,
I have multiple pages, the first is an information page, second is an evaluation page, the third is a treatment page.
I am hoping to add a drop down menu (Add New Page) with the following in it:
1. Treatment Note
2. Discharge Summary
3. Treatment Order
4. Progress Note
Each of the selections corresponds to a specific page layout.
ie: 1. Vitals, signature, etc.
2. Previous information compared to current status
3. Ordering equipment etc.
4. Updating referral source.
I am new to this so any help is appreciated, assume I know very little to begin with so specifics on how to create your recommendations are greatly appreciated.
CheersThe attached contains a drop-down that sets focus on a text field on the applicable page. The effect is to navigate to the page. The exit event looks like this...
//form1.page1.subform1.pageSelection::exit - (JavaScript, client)
switch (this.rawValue) {
case "Treatment Note":
xfa.host.setFocus(form1.page2.subform1.someField);
break;
case "Discharge Summary":
xfa.host.setFocus(form1.page3.subform1.someField);
break;
case "Treatment Order":
xfa.host.setFocus(form1.page4.subform1.someField);
break;
case "Progress Note":
xfa.host.setFocus(form1.page5.subform1.someField);
break;
default:
break;
There are a variety of ways this could be accomplished.

I thought you need a combo for JTable row set. Seems I misunderstood.

Adding a drop down menu item?
Can I add a drop down menu item from the interactive form opening page dropdown list.
Doug,
Ah, that's called the Action Menu and at this point there's no way to do that - at least not a supported method. You could always manipulate the "apexir_ACTIONSMENU" list...
This would make a good enhancement request.

Drop down menu or combo box in jtable
Hi there I nee urgent help I have a jtable and I am collecting information to populate the table dynamically, the problem is I some of the strings that populate certain cells is longer the the width of the cell in a particular column, I thought I could use a combo box and split the strings up so I could have some type of drop down menu showing the information, but when I populate the combo box and instantiate the defaultcell renderer with the combobox it sets all cells in that column with the same information I would like to have it displaying the actual information for every row within that column
or if you can give me any ideas as to how I can avoid this happening or maybe an alternative method of showing these long strings in the table some kind of drop down.
Kind Regards Michaelthe problem is I some of the strings that populate certain cells is longer the the width of the cell in a particular column,Set a tooltip to display the entire text of the cell. Here is a simple example;
import java.awt.*;
import java.awt.event.*;
import javax.swing.*;
public class TableToolTip extends JFrame
public TableToolTip()
Object[][] data = { {"1234567890qwertyuiop", "A"}, {"2", "B"}, {"3", "C"} };
String[] columnNames = {"Number","Letter"};
JTable table = new JTable(data, columnNames)
public String getToolTipText( MouseEvent e )
int row = rowAtPoint( e.getPoint() );
int column = columnAtPoint( e.getPoint() );
Object value = getValueAt(row, column);
return value == null ? null : value.toString();
JScrollPane scrollPane = new JScrollPane( table );
getContentPane().add( scrollPane );
public static void main(String[] args)
TableToolTip frame = new TableToolTip();
frame.setDefaultCloseOperation( EXIT_ON_CLOSE );
frame.setSize(150, 100);
frame.setLocationRelativeTo( null );
frame.setVisible(true);
}If you want to get fancier than you could set the tooltip text only when the width of the text is greater than the width of the column. Here is an example of this is done with a text field. You would need to modify the code to refer the to table for the text string and the TableColumn for the width.:
JTextField textField = new JTextField(15)
public String getToolTipText(MouseEvent e)
FontMetrics fm = getFontMetrics( getFont() );
String text = getText();
int textWidth = fm.stringWidth( text );
return (textWidth > getSize().width ? text : null);
textField.setToolTipText(" ");
I thought I could use a combo box and split the strings up so I could have some type of drop down menu showing the informationIf you want to proceed with this approach then check out this posting:
