Add device in IME

I'm having problems adding a device to IME. I have two 4240s which are both running 6.2(1)E3, and I want to add them into IME 6.2 but experiencing problems.
When I click add and enter in the device details (name, IP address, username and password) and click ok, a status window appears with a scrolling bar which doesn't change.
I can log into each IPS device individually using IDM but cannot seem to be able to add them into IME... please help.

Try to do the following:
From Windows service control panel
Stop service called Cisco IPS Manager Express
Stop service called MYSQL-IME
Then
Start MYSQL-IME
Start Cisco IPS Manager Express

  • Add Device sees wireless but printer is wired and can reach the HTTP page on wire

I installed my new Officejet 8000 Pro A809 with an ethernet but when I run the HP "Add Device" Wizard, it trys to install it as wireless even though I select wired and the install fails.
I can see the http page for the printer and it shows all sane information about my printer so I believe the ethernet is actually working.
I am running WinXP with the FW off. The printer is on the same switch as my PC & of course I can see the http page
In the wizard, although I selected "Wired" of course the wire is working, the "Found Network Printers" page shows that its connection is wireless. None-the-less I click next and a screen comes up for "Starting Network Services" & it rolls though topology, wireless strength, etc. and to sending an SLP request to the IP then it fails & shows an picture of a wireless signal and a big red X.
The HP Home Network Diagnostics Utility says that software to connect to printer over network is missing BUT I ran the Wizard all the way though a second time, I selected that my device was not online and it finished OK. I ran the UPDATE from the Utility & it did a security update; I rand it again and it did not find any.
Although my FW is off, I checked the ports that the FW Guide says are needed:
I can telenet to the printer on ports 9100 & 92200
I cannot telnet on ports 137,139 or 427
    Ideas?
    Thanks!

OK, plugging the Ethernet cable into the printer should turn off the printer's wireless radio, but in case it did not, click the button near the blue light (or go to Setup > Network > Turn off wireless radio on the front panel).
Now, don't bother with the Add Device wizard, let's just add it manually:
Verify that you can browse to the printer's internal web page by its IP address.  If you cannot, disable your security system's firewall (not Windows firewall, it is usually not in the way).
    1. Click "Start" button --> Printers and Faxes.
    2. Under Printer Tasks, click "Add Printer".
    3. Click "Next" button on the Add Printer Wizard window.
    4. Select "Local printer attached to this computer". Deselect "Automatically detect and install My Plug and play printer". Click "Next".
    5. Under Select a Printer Port option, select "Create a new port" and select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "Next" button.
    6. In the "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP printer port wizard" make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to same network that your computer is connected to. Click "Next" button.
    7. Under "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" enter the printer's IP address. Click "Next" then click "Finish".
    8. Now, select HP from the list of manufacturers, select your printer from the list of Printer models and click 'Next' button.
    9. If you can't find your printer, you'll need to find the install CD and use the "Have Disk" option to select one of the hp*.ini files. Alternatively, you can select another HP printer model from the same type.
    10. Add the print spooler name and click "Next".
    11. Click "Next"
    12. Click "Next" and then "Finish"
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • In synk, when I click "add device" instead of opening a window to enter the codes, it opens another firefox window and takes me to the help page for synk. [SOLVED]

I got a new laptop today and after downloading firefox I tried to use the synk feature and it says I have to add device on my old computer. In following the directions I never get to the screen to enter the codes from my new computer onto the old one. When I click add device on the old computer it takes me to the help page on the web with the same directions that took me there in the first place! So, how am I supposed to synk my new computer if I can't add device on the old or simply log in to my synk account on the new?

Ok, I figured it out, I clicked "i don't have device available" and it let me log in to my account.

  • I'm trying to add my Linux netbook to my sync account but both my windows computers will not show the "Add Device" button in any of the sync management screens

I'm trying a new Linux build on a net book that I use for playing with non windows OS. In the process of setting up the fresh OS install I wanted in get my Firefox account set up to that I didn't have to spend lots of time working on that one thing. I'm no stranger to the browser sync and have attached several of my computers and tablets with a number of different OS to the account with little trouble including the Firefox of the previous Linux build that was on the net book. The problem now is that on both of my to main computers, a windows 7 desktop and a windows 8.1 tablet, both running the latest Firefox, I am unable to find the "add device" button in any of the sync management screens. This includes the browsers built in options screen as well as the Firefox manage account page. The first gives me options for disconnecting the account, going to the manage screen, several check boxes for what can be synced, and the device name. The manage screen, after logging in, only give me options for signing out, changing password, and deleting the account. Any help figuring out why the add device button seem to be missing from both these devices would be greatly appreciated.

Please check your Firefox Installation's version. (can be found by clicking the main menu, either clicking or hovering over the help button, and then clicking about firefox in the sub menu). depending on how long ago you set up sync you may still be using the older sync version. firefox 29 introduced a new (and might i add far less tedious) sync version. see [[How to update to the new Firefox Sync|this Mozilla support article]] for information on upgrading your sync to the new version.

  • Add device cdrom non global zone

    Hi All ,
how to add device cdrom to non global zone ?
    many thanks

    Hi David,
Does your judgement that "you can definitely use a lofs mount to make /usr/local available inside the four zones" hold when /usr/local is an NFS mount in the global zone? James indicated that his /usr/local was an NFS mount, but I don't know if you targeted that specifically, or if you were just responding to the general case.
I have not had any success in performing lofs mounts of NFS mounts and making them visible in a local zone. I don't have any problems making a lofs mount of a NFS mount work in the global zone, I just can't NFS mount anything in the global zone and make it accessible in a local zone.
See http://www.opensolaris.org/jive/thread.jspa?threadID=2181&tstart=0 for a full description of what I tried and what happened. The short result is that when I try, accessing that directory in the local zone gives "I/O error" for file operations and "Not owner" for df.
    Thanks,
    Dab

  • ADD device in Audible...Zen xtra don't w

    Please Help me.
PS. I plugged in more than computer and its the samething
I don't have a specific answer for you ... but a question instead: When you say you plugged it into more than computer, did you use the same USB cable each time? The reason I ask is because of what I experienced just the other day (that really confused me after I thought I had figured out some of this stuff).
I have been successfully plugging my Zen V Plus 2GB (like yours) into the USB port on the front of my PC (some people have to plug it into a back port) and it charges very well. But I wanted it to charge a bit faster, so I bought a Belkin charger from Wal-Mart (it comes with a charger for a wall outlet, a car charger, and a short USB cable that plugs into the back of either charger). Well, I left the Belkin USB cable in my car's glovebox so I could charge it in the car when I'm driving. And thinking that I could plug the same USB cable that I've been successfully using on my PC into the wall outlet charger, I discovered something baffling.
Belkin's chargers (car and home) only seem to work with the USB cable they supplied (don't know why they only supply one cable and two places to plug it, though). Not being an electrical engineer, I can only guess that not all USB cables are created equal. And perhaps this is part of the problem people like you are having getting their players to charge sufficiently to display the screen.
I hope that someone more qualified (that is, more knowledgeable) can shed some light on this subject. What combination of USB port and cable is required to work with Creative players? Are different cables wired differently (like some cat-5 or modem cables are "crossover" and some aren't)?

It jumps straight out of sleep mode. It refuses to shut down.
Remove the hard drive then re-install it to reseat the connection.
Try to reach BIOS with hard drive removed and set to defaults, then reinstall drive to try again. (resetting defaults may turn off, fast start, sleep mode, eco settings. I suggest not to use any of those.)
Try testing the RAM, remove and reinstall one at a time and in different slots to test RAM and RAM slots.
Try pressing fn and F2,F8,F12, the number 0
If its windows 8 press shift when you shut down.

  • Add Device issue with Bluetooth!

    Hi,
Earlier, my laptop could not detect any Bluetooth device, however; reading a post on MS community on the subject, I uninstalled all the devices under Bluetooth as shown in the Device Manager. After restart my Bluetooth could detect my devices and add the
    necessary drivers.
However; I am facing this rather differing behavior on Windows 8.1 Pro. If I try using Add Device option in PCand Devices section of Services Application, it does not detect any device - however; the same devices get detected if I go to Control Panel->Devices
and Printers->Add Device OR Settings->PC and devices-> Bluetooth
Logically, I presume Bluetooth devices should also get added under Settings->PC and devices->Devices->Add Device - but it does not.
Is this some kind of driver issue? Can someone help why this is happening.
Let me also state that Under the Device manager there are 2 drivers under Others section namely MS-ABTP and MS-TCC that show a little question mark. Property for MS Enumerator under Bluetooth shows use of these drivers.
Are the above issues linked if independent how do I resolve them?
    Thanks,
    Sachin

Failed to add device to WCS  Reason:  Object not found in device
This controller was successfully added to the WCS before upgrading WLC ios to 7.0.116. Now i am unable to communicate with the controller thru WCS. The controller itself work ok and serve all WAPs with no issue.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.
    Regards.

You will need to upgrade WCS to Version 7.0.172.0. WCS version 7.0.64.0 does not support or manage WLC version 7.0.116.0. Hope this helps.

  • I can't sync my iphone. Sync options does not have add device. ?

I have a sync account set up. I have firefox sync on my iPhone. When I go into sync option there is no add device option available. I just upgraded my foxfire to the newest version.

    Hi Buzzbomb1,
It's not an official app, and it may be a fake app, unfortunately. I searched for Firefox Sync on the App Store and couldn't find anything.
Please, also note that there is no Firefox browser for the iPhone, because of the limitations that Apple imposes on the iPhone browsers.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
    Thanks!!

  • Add device failed with ERROR_INVALID_PASSWORD

Using SGD 4.5 and Windows 2008 R2. Getting this: Add device failed with ERROR_INVALID_PASSWORD when I run ttatdm.
I've made security changes that were suggested in the documentation for 2003 but that didn't help.
Anyone have any suggestions on what needs to be changed to allow Client Drive mapping on 2008 R2?

We don't have any issue using SGD 4.5 with CDM and 2008 R2. Most likely you do have a firewall issue between SGD and your Remote Desktop Server. Please also add ICMP access (PING).
Did you check your DNS? Forward and reverse lookups?

  • Cannot add device to provisioning portal

I just got my new iPad (iPad (4th generation Model A1460)) running iOS 6.1.3
I am using xcode 4.6.2 to develop my apps. Through the xcode Oragizer I am trying to add my iPad to the provisioning portal. I right click on the device and choose option "Add Device to Provisioning Portal". I get the scrolling indicator along with the message "Prerparing to add to portal" and then I get a pop-up message "The request timed out."
    My network connections are ok.
Any help? I have been trying this all week but no luck.

    OK,
sign in to iOS dev center
on right - Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles
Identifiers - App IDs - new
    e.g. for bundle ID com.name.projectname
After creating this and being brought back to a list of all your App IDs
Make sure that the device has been added to you list of devices via the website
    Then, Provisioning Profiles - New
    iOS App Development
Select the App ID you created for your app
    Select the certificate
Select the devices you want to be able to run your app on.
    Give your profile a name
    Download it
    Double click to open it
Restart Xcode and open the project you created
Make sure your Bundle identifier matches exactly the app id and that the code signing settings are set to the profile you downloaded.
If you gave your project a capital letter for its name, you may need to change the name of the target to the lower case version of that name to match your profile. Restart Xcode after doing this.
Build and run and it should work. If it doesn't, the only thing I can think of is that you made an error when adding your device.
I have just created a project and have it running.
    Hope this helps,
    Thomas
