Add multiple rows?  Resize table?

Sorry if this question is totally dumb, but I can't figure it out. I tried searching the discussions.
Basically, I just want to add some number of rows to the end of my table. Is there some way I can add say, 1000 rows without dragging the tab at the bottom of the table down for a few minutes? Seems ridiculous. Is there some place where I can just type in the number of rows and columns I want in a table?
Thanks.

I don't think there is a way. I looked it up for excel, because sometimes that will give me a clue where to look in Numbers when I cannot find something. The only way I have seen for doing it in excel is with a VBA macro that asks for the number of rows.
Since we don't have scripting (yet, cross your fingers), I don't see an answer at this point.
Please submit feedback to Apple using the Feedback option under the Numbers menu, suggest both apple scripting and the function your looking for.

    how do I add multiple rows in Numbers for iPad?

    Hi James,
    On the iPod I can only insert what is on the clipboard but I can insert however many rows I have there. Is it working differently for you? Benjoon seemed to think that he could not do this in Numbers. He was ruling Numbers out because of it. He doesn't need to do that because of this issue.
    If I was needing to insert multiple blank rows often I might keep a table of blank rows or just some blank rows at the end of the working table that I could copy/paste. This is no different than Numbers on the Mac.

    how to add empty rows in table in smart form?
    plz help me regarding this
    send me ur queries to [email protected]

    You will need to add some extra rows to the internal table that your table is displaying.  Use a program node to append additional rows with a key but no argument.
    Alternaively a template may me more suitable for your requirement than a table.
    Finally, please do not include you e-mail address in your question.  Your question and the answers provided to it are for the benefit of everyone in the Community.

  • Multiple rows in table popin

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement to have multiple rows in the table popin, that is , having a table with multiple rows as the table popin.
    For further information, the exact requirement is , there is a table which will have one of the column containing a button, EXPAND , clicking which a table needs to be displayed below the row, (same as it happens for Table popins) and EXpand button becomes COLLAPSE button after it is clicked. Now clicking the Collapse button should close the table showed in Table popin.
    Kindly help for the above requirement.
    Thanks in Advance for help

  • Making Charts with Multiple Rows in Tables

    I was wondering if anyone has figured out a way to make a chart that graphs multiple rows of data from a table in only one data set.

    Ryan,
    Ok, now we see what you are working with, but are still confused by what you want to do.
    You have two charts showing the same two years of running records. The top chart has the years superimposed over each other, and the bottom chart shows the years consecutively.
    Are you trying to take prior years (not shown) from the bottom chart and superimpose them in the top chart? If so, add as many rows to the top chart as there are years you are copying. Then use the formula:
    =Total Running Milage :: x2 where x2 is the first cell for the year involved. Copy the formula across to complete the year and repeat for as many years as you are transferring. When you are satisfied with the results, change all those formulas you placed in the top table to values (copy the block of cells, Edit > Paste Values). Finally, you can delete the bottom chart. But be sure to paste values before deleting the bottom chart.

  • Help :add multiple rows from Resultset to ArrayList ?

    My query returns one column and multiple rows. In Java code , I am trying to get this data in array or arraylist through ResultSet
    ex:
    item_num
    p001
    p002
    p003
    when I print, it only gets the item in the first row.
    ArrayList myArrayList = new ArrayList();
    resultset = preparedstatement.executeQuery();
    if (resultset.next())
    myArrayList.add(new String(resultset.getString("item_num")));
    Print:
    for (int j = 0 ; j < myArrayList.size() ; j++ )
    System.out.println((String)myArrayList.get(j)); --this prints only the first item.
    can someone assist ?

  • Delete multiple rows from table/list control

    Hi,
    I want to have a table control in which a user can enter different entries, like this:
    My program would read each entry at a time and do something.
    However, I would like to give the user ability to delete multiple entries at once, like in an Excel spreadsheet - that is, the user selects multiple rows and presses "Delete" key and those entries get deleted. The Labview table does not allow this it seems - I can only delete one entry at a time - or I have to right-click and select Data Operations->Cut Data, which is awkward.
    Is there a control better suited to what I want to do? I tried a Llist control, but it behaves in the same manner.
    Thanks in advance!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    You could write your own routine.  Use an Event Structure with a Key Down event.  If the delete key was pressed and the table has focus delete the elements that are selected.

  • How to select multiple row of table using check box?

    hi,
             i am having table on view having first field as checkbox. what i want, when i click on checkboxes in multiple rows, and i click on any button i need to use those content to next view...
              my problem is if i select only one row , i can use onlead select property of table..but when i select multiple rows  through check box how should i read contents of table....?
    Plz solve it.
    Thanks,
    Saurin Shah

    Hello Saurin,
    You are right using LeadSelection you can select only 1 row at a time. You will have to make use of Selection for achieving this. First you will have to change the selection mode of the table to multiple & also change the selection property for the related context to 0..n . Please find a code extract which might help you. (However this facility is only available from SP 14.) The main part is using the set_selected method of if_wd_context_node.
    data: node_zcourse_details type ref to if_wd_context_node,
             node_course_assign type ref to if_wd_context_node,
             elem_course_assign type ref to if_wd_context_element,
             stru_course_assign type if_v_details=>element_course_assign ,
             item_popin_selected like stru_course_assign-popin_selected.
    "     navigate from <CONTEXT> to <ZCOURSE_DETAILS> via lead selection
    node_zcourse_details = wd_context->get_child_node( name = if_v_details=>wdctx_zcourse_details ).
    "     navigate from <ZCOURSE_DETAILS> to <COURSE_ASSIGN> via lead selection
    node_course_assign = node_zcourse_details->get_child_node( name = if_v_details=>wdctx_course_assign ).
    "     @TODO handle not set lead selection
    if ( node_course_assign is initial ).
    exit.
    endif.
    data elem_set type wdr_context_element_set.
    field-symbols <wa_elem> like line of elem_set.
    elem_set = node_course_assign->get_elements( ).
    loop at elem_set assigning <wa_elem>.
       <wa_elem>->set_selected( TRUE OR FALSE ). " Supply either TRUE/FALSE in here
    endloop.

Results should look like the following after the update:
    col_a col_b col_c col_d

    2     1     2     7
    3     1     3     11

    19    4     4     24
    20    4     5     17I can see it right there at my fingertips using this query, where I want to set b_col_d = a_col_d, but I'm missing something, as this query returns too many rows when used in the update statement.
    select * from (
      select col_a as a_col_a, col_b as a_col_b, col_c as a_col_c, col_d as a_col_d

  • Multiple row resizing or automatic height fit

    Hi,
    I have just opened a very simple excel file in Numbers. The workbook consists of only 1 sheet and one table with 3 columns and around 30 rows; is just a list. The problem is that, when I Opened, the text didn't fit the height of the rows, so I had to manually change the row heigh.
    Is there any way to change the heigh of multiple rows or just something like the "autoFit" feature in excel?

    I am not sure if this is what your asking or not, but if you select a single column or row, then use the little blue dot to extend the selection. now you can grab the right/bottom edge where you see the gripper markings and you can change the width/height of all the selected columns/rows.
    Autofit for columns is not there (That I can find it). but rows are automatically autofit in height. If you have some text that wraps in the cell, if you make the column wide enough, you will notice that all the rows get smaller in height to fir the unwrapped text.
    Hope this is even close to what your asking

  • Want to insert multiple rows in table using EO

    Hi,
    I have one requirement where I need to insert multiple rows at once in table lets say Previous Employers.
    What I am trying to do is I have created few textinputboxes and getting there values and putting in HashMap.
    And manually inserting the rows to EO. I am not getting any error but the data is not populating in Table.
    here is the code snap ...please suggest!!
    public void updateKoelHrPreEmpVO(HashMap map)
    OADBTransaction txn = getOADBTransaction();
    //HashMap map = new HashMap();
    KoelHrPreEmpVOImpl empVO = getKoelHrPreEmpVO1();
    KoelHrPreEmpVORowImpl fetchedRow = null;
    int fetchedRowCount = empVO.getFetchedRowCount();
    RowSetIterator deleteIter = empVO.createRowSetIterator("deleteIter");
    if (fetchedRowCount > 0)
    if(txn.isLoggingEnabled(2))
    txn.writeDiagnostics(this,"Removing rows from KoelHrPreEmpVO :: Current count :: " + fetchedRowCount ,2);
    //System.out.println("Removing rows from KoelHrPreEmpVO :: Current count :: " +fetchedRowCount);
    deleteIter.setRangeStart(0);
    deleteIter.setRangeSize(fetchedRowCount-1);
    for (int i = 0; i < fetchedRowCount; i++)
    //System.out.println("Removing Row :: "+i);
    if(txn.isLoggingEnabled(2))
    txn.writeDiagnostics(this,"Removing row :: " + i ,2);
    fetchedRow = (KoelHrPreEmpVORowImpl)deleteIter.getRowAtRangeIndex(i);
    fetchedRow.remove();
    getTransaction().commit();
    deleteIter.closeRowSetIterator();
    if(empVO.getRowCount() == 0) {
    Row row = null;
    KoelHrPreEmpVORowImpl insertRow = null;
    empVO.first();
    if(txn.isLoggingEnabled(2))
    txn.writeDiagnostics(this,"Inserting rows to KoelHrPreEmpVO :: " ,2);
    try
    for(int i=1; i<=4; i++) {
    insertRow = (KoelHrPreEmpVORowImpl)empVO.createRow();
    insertRow.setEmployeeNumber(map.get("EmployeeNumber").toString());
    insertRow.setPersonId(new Number(map.get("PersonId").toString()));
    insertRow.setEmployer(map.get("Employer"+i+"").toString());
    insertRow.setStartDate(Date.toDate(map.get("StartDate"+i+"").toString()));
    insertRow.setEndDate(Date.toDate(map.get("EndDate"+i+"").toString()));
    insertRow.setEmployer(map.get("Designation"+i+"").toString());
    empVO.insertRow(insertRow);
    insertRow.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED);
    getTransaction().commit();
    catch(SQLException ex)
    ex.printStackTrace();
    Regards,
    Mukesh

    1. Pls check if the create() methos in EOImpl is in place, setting the primary key.
    2. Even though we insert values in this fashion , it only gets inserted if user performs any action, like manipulates some column. Pls check if there is any mechansm to make the row dirty ( as if done by user).

    It's usually standard practice that if you set a table (e.g. 't1' in your example) to NOLOGGING then you should set the same table back to LOGGING after the insert. Setting table 'test_table' to LOGGING isn't really what you intended is it? ;)Ohh yes, It was a Typo. I am so accustomed to Test_table on OTN that I forgot, I had actually used the table T1 in demonstration.
    I meant as below
    ALTER TABLE t1 NOLOGGING;
    insert /*+ append */ into t1 select col1, col2, col3 from source_table;
    alter table t1 logging;Thanks for correcting me :)
