Add PERNR fieldTo Who's Who Search on ESS
Hi
I need to know how do I add a Search field -PERNR to who's who Infoset Query on ESS. I would also like to know how do I delete certain fields from Selection fields.

Does the infoset not have PERNR available? If so, no need to change infoset. (We use a different one for other reasons).
Go to transaction PZ01C.
Bottom part shows available fields in infoset. Check for PERNR.
Add the wanted field (I belieav it would be P0001-PERNR) to selection fields.

follow the below given path.
Personnel Management -> Employee Self-Service -> Employee Self Service (ITS Version) -> ESS Settings for Specific Services -> Life & Work Event
this way you can add or remove or edit the fields..

Im trying to add new fields to Advanced search in WHO's Who settings which are customs fields Z from infotype 1008; I customized new infoset copy from standard adding this infotype, but im getting error when i run de query on ESS, anyway Who's who don't Show fields from infotype 1008 on output field details, Anybody Knows How I can add custom fields in Who's who infoset and how the hell can I read infotype 1008 from infoset on PCH DataBase?

Here is the catch, when you add the custom infotype make sure it has the primary key same as other infotypes used in the Query.
For example make Pernr as the primary key in the custom infotype.
I tried the same in our landscape and it worked fine.
The steps I did are as below:
In SQ02 - EDIT - Change Info-Type Selection - Add the Custom Infotype to the Query
In SQ03 created a custom user group and assigned Infoset to the User Group.
In SQ01 create the query and click on Change - From the top selected Basic List and added the fields which I want to see in list and also the selection criteria.
Once done with this execute the Query and see if the data is populated from the Custom Infotype.
There is no coding needed to populate the data.
Make sure the join is right and it should get the data. And the above link shows how to include the Custom Info-type fields in WHO'S WHO search.

I have one requirement regarding the search results of Who's who in employee search on ESS. My client want that in the search results of Who's Who, only active employees of the company will be displayed. In other words employees with inactive and withdrawn status should not be displayed in the search results.
Can you please guide me how can I restrict the system to display only the active employees.

We configured the Who is who search iview on our SAP EP according to http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/05/a62c42de59da2ce10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm.
The who is who iview is configured to search users in the system UME.
It is working well, but unfortunately the who is who search is configured to find and show ALL users (including ddic, sap* etc.). Does anyone know if it is possible to exclude some users from the who is who result list?
We want to use the who is who search in our portal and we don't want that when you enter a * in the search field you see system, communication etc users in the search result.
As alternative, is it possible to connect the standard who is who search to other infosets?

Link photo to personnel number
Transaction code OAAD
Click on the Create Store and Assign button. Enter Business Object PREL and Document Type HRICOLFOTO. Click on create(F8).
Enter the Personnel Number of the employee you want to link the photo to. Choose also the infotype that you wish the photo to be displayed on (not sure how relevant this is. It works if you use 0002 but should also work if left blank. Suspect is only relevant if you wanted to store different photos for different infotypes)
Click on Continue.
Enter the path and filename of the photo. The dropdown will allow you to navigate to the appropriate directory.
SAP will notify you that the Stored document is created successfully and you end up with something like:
If you get an error 401 to do with missing authorisations, then try and redo the above step. It often only happens the first time you try and load the photo.

This iView displays the employees in the managers area of responsibility, that is, employees who report either directly or indirectly to the manager. The display is based on the SAP application component Organizational Management.
You can provide managers with various display options in this iView. To do this, you make the relevant Customizing settings in the back-end system (see the "Prerequisites section) and in the iView properties (see the Settings section). Managers can also filter the data that is displayed.
You can provide managers in your company with all or some of the following display options:
● Display employees for one or more organizational units
Organizational units are displayed in a separate navigation area in which the manager can select the relevant organizational unit. You have the following display options for the navigation area:

Integration
This iView is part of the General Information, Compensation Information, and Personnel Development pages. The iViews on these pages are called by a single Web Dynpro application. In the standard system they are not standalone applications, as users select most data for all iViews on a page, centrally using the Employee Search iView.
Managers select an employee in the Employee Search iView. Using Eventing, the Floorplan Manager informs the remaining iViews on the page that a new employee has been selected. The iViews obtain the personnel number of the selected employee and display the relevant information for this employee.
In the standard system, the Employee Search iView is integrated with the following iViews on the pages previously mentioned:

Is it possible to add PERNR field to MIGO or MB1A transaction screens?
Hi,
Ours is a service industry with @ 10000 employees and we have implemented SAP with MM & HR module. We issue uniforms to all the employees when they join (new Joinee) and again once in January every year as reissuance. We intend to keep size information in employee masters in HR along with station code, designation, department and cost centers.
At present we are using two fields goods recipient and unloading point to mention employee code and type of issue (new joinee or reissuance). This is because employee code (PERNR) field is not there in MIGO_GI screen or MB1A screen.
Is it possible to add PERNR field to any of these transaction screens?
If added then we can fetch the relevant information about issuance of information along with station code, designation, department in Z report.
If possible, then how it can be done?

as i understand we can add new fields in a transaction through user exit /field exit. so please discuss with your ABAP consultant & try to find out all the exit available for MIGO/ MB1A. then you have to decide which one will suit you. here you have to consider some factors like whether you need to enter values in the field or the field needs to fatch any value from any other table & should populate here.
the ABAPer can then write the code & add your required logic here.
i am not very good in this subject. just tried to share what ever i knew.

in spro in Define customer-specific search control -> mark fields with X.
and enhance html template CRM_CIC_SEARCH_DISPLAY. -> tcode smw0, look for package CRM_CIC_COMPONENTS for html CRM_CIC_SEARCH_DISPLAY. export it from SAP, edit, and import.
you will need to enhance function module used for searching - you will find him in spro in Search Strategies.

I know that in the search center you can add search verticals. Then you can configure the search box so it has a drop down menu so you can specify the result source you want to search.
But my question is about the 'search this site' box which appears on all subsites, so not the one in the search center. Is it possible to add the same dropdown menu to this box as in the search center?

You need to look at the Search Settings page that is located under the Site Collection Administration of the Site Settings.

Advanced search in ESS leave request scenario
Dear experts,
we want to use the leave request scenario for ESS. The employees should choose the ap-prover with the search help (or advanced search which pops up when the user clicked the symbol at the edge of the approver field). Is there any way to customize the advanced search so that the result only lists employees in a specific role and not all of them? Where can I see the code from the advanced search und where can I change this?

Update says Kaspersky add-on's are not compatible and will be disabled. Who's responsible for making them compatible, and if it's Kaspersky, have they been notified?
