  • Want to add rows from database in custom table model

    Hello all,
    I have written custom table model which has single blank row intially.
    Once user clicks on button, i want to add more rows in custom table model and display them in JTable.
    I have created JTable object as shown below.
    Jtable patientTable = new JTable( new DiagnosticTableModel());
    My custom tabel model is as shown below.
    import javax.swing.table.AbstractTableModel;
    public class DiagnosticTableModel extends AbstractTableModel
         private String[] columnNames = {
                         "Date",
                                              "Diagnosis",
                                              "Severity",
                                              "Medications"};
         private String[][] data = {
          public int getColumnCount()
             return columnNames.length;
          public int getRowCount()
               return data.length;
          public String getColumnName(int col)
             return columnNames[col];
          public Class getColumnClass(int col)
             return getValueAt(0, col).getClass();
          public Object getValueAt(int row, int col)
             return data[row][col];
          public boolean isCellEditable(int row, int col)
          return true;
          public void setValueAt(Object value, int row, int col)
             data[row][col] = value.toString();
             fireTableCellUpdated(row, col);
    }Thanx a lot in advance.

    I have written custom table model which has single blank row intially.Why did you write a custom TableModel? The DefaultTableModel will work fine and it has methods that allow you to dynamically add rows to the table.

    i really appreciate if anyone can tell how to create a

    The best you can do is create an empty mdb file and copy each time you need to create a new one.

    Hi ,
    1.)You must have to create a EO based on custom table and then VO based on this EO eventually to save the values in DB
    2.) the row.setNewRowState(Row.STATUS_INITIALIZED); is used to set the the status of row as inialized ,this is must required.
    3.) When u will create the VO based on EO the viewattributes will be created in VO which will be assigned to the fields to take care the db handling .
    You must go thtough the lab excercise shipped with you Jdeveloper ,there is a example of Create Employee page ,that will solve your number of doubts.
    Thanks

Now my requirement is i want to edit that exising values & again i want to store it in the databse while clicking the update button. so first i have created one VO for fetching the values from the database & i make one Table Region in my main page along with 5 MessageTextInput field.. & i mapped that VO's attributes to my textbox.Now i can able to fetch & display the values inside the text box while rendering the page.
    But I dont know how to update the values in the database. Caz in my VO I have only select query. So anyone plz send me the code for update. And also plz let me know where to insert that code..whether (CO or AM or EO)..it is very urgent.
    Thanks

    David,
    Note that the default JavaBean datacontrol does not allow create/remove and transaction operations. These apis are not implemented for the JavaBean datacontrol.
    You may re-initialize the rowsetiterator, by calling ((oracle.adf.model.generic.DCRowSetIteratorImpl)iteratorBinding.getRowSetIterator()).clearCurrentData().
    This will force the RSI to refresh it's data via the named-accessor again.

  • How to add a row to database  from tableModel

    hi friends,
    i wnt to know that is it possible that when i add some rows in a table which has been created by a table model to add those rows to database like what happen in MS Access when u add rows and close the window the rows are automatically added to database
    i want to know where to add the listener for that and which listener to use ?

    thanks Andre,
    but i have solved my problem in a different way, i have used
    method SetValueAt() of AbstractTableModel which i have used to
    create the table
    actaully my question was little confusing, i wanted
    to add rows as soon as the user has finished entering
    a new row...it would be better if it could be done for
    every cell but that would be more complex...

    here  i m giving my logic, can anybody send me the code related to this logic.
    this is very urgent .
    this program o/p should be in ALV format and need to create one commond 'SAVE" on this o/t list  if  user clicks save processedon and processedby fields in ZFIBUE should be updated automatically.
    i am creating one custom table zfibue having fields: (serialno, bukrs, matnr,prdha,hkont,gsber,wrbtr,budat, credate, cretime,processed, processedon, processedby,mapped)
    fields of zfibue:
    serailno = numc
    bukrs = char
    matnr = char
    prdha = char
    hkont = char
    gsber = char
    wrbtr = char
    budat = date
    credate = date
    cretime = time
    processed= char
    processedon = date
    processedby = char
    mapped = char      are   belongs to above type data types
    and seelct-optionfields:  s_bukrs for bseg-bukrs
                                        s_hkont for bseg-hkont,
                                         s_budat for bkpf-budat,
                                         s_processed for zfibue-processed,
                                          s_processedon for zfibue-processedon,
                                          s_mapped. for zfibue-mapped
    parameters: p_chk1 as checkbox,
                      p_chk2 as checkbox.
                      p_filepath type rlgrap-filename.
    1.1 Validate the user inputs (S_BUKRS and S_HKONT) against respective check tables (T001 and SKB1). If the validation fails, provide respective error message. Eg: “Invalid input for Company Code”.
    1.2 Fetch SERIALNO, BUKRS, MATNR, PRDHA, HKONT, GSBER, WRBTR, BUDAT, CREDATE, CRETIME, PROCESSED, PROCESSEDON, PROCESSEDBY, MAPPED from table ZFIBUE into internal table GT_ZFIBUE where BUKRS IN S_BUKRS, HKONT IN S_HKONT, BUDAT IN S_BUDAT, PROCESSED IN S_PROCESSED, PROCESSEDON IN S_PROCESSEDON, and MAPPED IN S_MAPPED.
    1.3 If P_CHK2 = ‘X’, go to step 1.11. Else continue.
    1.4 If P_CHK1 = ‘X’, continue. Else go to step 1.9
    1.5 Fetch MATNR, PRDHA from MARA into GT_MARA for all entries in GT_ZFIBUE where MATNR = GT_ZFIBUE-MATNR.
    1.6 Sort and delete adjacent duplicates from GT_MARA based on MATNR.
    1.7 Loop through GT_ZFIBUE where PRDHA = blank.
              Read Table GT_MARA based on MATNR = GT_ZFIBUE-MATNR.
              IF sy-subrc = 0.
                     Move GT_MARA-PRDHA to GT_ZFIBUE-PRDHA.
                  Modify Table GT_ZFIBUE. “Update Product Hierarchy
                 Endif.
        Fetch PRDHA, GSBER from ZFIBU into GT_ZFIBU for all entries in GT_ZFIBUE where PRDHA = GT_ZFIBUE-PRDHA.
        Read Table GT_ZFIBU based on PRDHA = GT_ZFIBUE-PRDHA.
              IF sy-subrc = 0.
                     Move GT_ZFIBU-GSBER to GT_ZFIBUE-GSBER.
                  Move “X” to GT_ZFIBUE-MAPPED.
                  Modify Table GT_ZFIBUE.
                 Endif.
    Endloop.
    1.8 Modify database table ZFIBUE from GT_ZFIBUE.
    1.9 Fill the field catalog table GT_FIELDCAT using the details of output fields listed in section “Inputs/Outputs” (above).
       Eg:                 LWA_ FIELDCAT -SELTEXT_L = 'Serial Number’.
                              LWA_ FIELDCAT -DATATYPE = ‘NUMC’.
                              LWA_ FIELDCAT -OUTPUTLEN = 9.
                              LWA_ FIELDCAT -TABNAME = 'GT_ZFIBUE'.
                              LWA_ FIELDCAT-FIELDNAME = 'SERIALNO'.
              Append LWA_FIELDCAT to GT_FIELDCAT
    Note: a) The output field GT_ZFIBUE-PROCESSED will be editable marking INPUT = “X” in field catalog (GT_FIELDCAT).
             b) The standard ALV functionality will be used to give the user option for selecting all or blocks of entries at a time.
             c) The PF-STATUS STANDARD_FULLSCREEN from function group SLVC_FULLSCREEN will be copied to the program and modified to include a “SAVE” button.
    1.10 Call the function module REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY passing output table GT_ZFIBUE and field catalog GT_FIELDCAT. Additional parameters like I_CALLBACK_PF_STATUS_SET (= ‘ZFIBUESTAT’) and I_CALLBACK_USER_COMMAND (=’HANDLE_USER_ACTION’) will also be passed to handle user events. Go to 2.14.
    1.11 Download the file to P_FILEPATH using function module GUI_DOWNLOAD passing GT_ZFIBUE.
    1.12 Exit Program.
    Logic to be implemented in  routine “Handle_User_Action”
    This routine will have the following interface:
    FORM Handle_User_Action  USING r_ucomm LIKE sy-ucomm
                                                               rs_selfield TYPE slis_selfield.
    ENDFORM.
    Following logic will be implemented in this routine:
    1.     If r_ucomm = ‘SAVE’, continue. Else exit.
    2.     Loop through GT_ZFIBUE where SEL_ROW = ‘X’. “Row is selected
    a.     IF GT_ZFIBUE-PROCESSED = ‘X’.
    i.     GT_ZFIBUE-PROCESSEDON = SY-DATUM.
    ii.     GT_ZFIBUE-PROCESSEDBY = SY-UNAME.
    iii.     MODIFY ZFIBUE FROM work area GT_ZFIBUE.
    Endif.
    Endloop.

    Hi Swathi,
    If it's very very urgent then you better get on with it, don't waste time on the web. Chop chop.

    I think so..
    Your Oracle Database doesn't connect to content server..
    Maybe, you can edit the configuration of your UCM..
    Please open the file at C:\oracle\ucm\server\config\config.cfg..
    And then add the code :
    NumConnection = 5;

  • XML SQL utility ( Very Urgent)

    Hi,
    Running the Client side Front-End works for me....Thank you
    very much. These are all my questions.
    1. As far as my understanding goes XML Parsers are used to parse
    the incoming XML documents before updating the database. But
    when I used the Oraxle XML class(getXML option)I found one
    command line option called -useDOMDoc( Use the DOM API to
    generate the XML doc). I am not clear about it's functionality.
    Why it's being used to create a XML document? Or explain me
    clearly about the functionality of getXML option?
    2.With the help of putXML command line option I could insert one
    XML document into Oracle 8i ( I could insert one table only). My
    question is if I have a XML document which contains elements
    from two tables( emp and detail) and tags from the same two
    table too. In that case how could I insert into two tables? what
    I should do?
    For example my DTD has columns for two tables emp and detail.
    Here is my xml document, and the command which I am going to use
    in the command line would be
    java OracleXML putXML -user "scott/tiger" -filename xxxxx emp,
    details
    <?xml version="1.0"?>

    Hi Chan,
    Hello Mr. "very urgent" Chan,
    1- The command line front end of the XSU, besides being useful
    for you users, it is also a great tool for us to test the XSU.
    Basically the -useDOMDoc makes the XSU use OracleXMLDocGenDOM to
    generate the doc. When using the query API you can pass the
    OracleXMLDocGenDom class to the getXML request and instead of a
    string contining the xml document you will get back a DOM tree
    (i.e. Document object).

  • RE: (forte-users) Hi All....very urgent...Forte doesn'thandle La rge ar

    Okay, here's my three cents worth,
    Are you using Forte "Keep Alive" settings? If yes, you may simply have a
    time-out.
    While a partition is waiting for a reply from a database, it blocks and
    won't respond
    to anything, including pings to check if it's still alive. So, if the query
    takes longer to
    complete than the time-out period of the communication manager, then you
    will
    loose the connection to the partition.

    Hi,
    This sounds almost identical to a problem we have experienced.
    If it is the same problem it is because you have compiled a back-end
    load-balanced partition, but NOT the router that manages it.
    With such a configuration, attempts to send greater than a few thousand
    rows
    will fail - and it doesn't seem to matter what you set -fm to.
    You don't see the problem running distributed from your workspace because
    everything is interpreted.
    So just compile the router and try again.
    Hope this helps.

    Subject: (forte-users) Hi All....very urgent...Forte doesn't handle
    Large array properly
    Hi All,
    Have anyone experienced problem of retrieving
    more than 1500 records from the database table, into
    the object.
    I use dynamic SQL statement, and populating Array
    object from the DBDataSet. When it runs from my
    workspace distributed, it works fine. But, when I make
    deployment, and install on the test bed, I face
    Network connection failure from the client machine. It
    looks like, server read the data from the Database,
    and while packaging it, to send it across to the
    client, server seems to run out ouf memory or couldn't
    maintain the connection with the client. I tried to
    set -fm flag on that partition, and separately setting
    FORTE_GC_SPECIAL too, but still no luck.
    we have increased, the rollback segment size on
    Oracle too, but still no luck.
    Appreciate, your suggestions, if you can,
    Thank you,
    Babu
