Add search feature to 'My Music'?

Would anyone else find the search function for music from the iTunes store helpful if applied to 'My Music'? I for one would find it very helpful.
Maybe if we asked for it as an enhancement request.....
Once you have a very large library, scrolling through hundreds of artists/tracks can be slow.
Either adding the search feature or the organization scheme from the iPod touch/iPhone would be a boon...

I'm with you on this - it is very annoying to have to return to the Mac each time and set up another playlist, which then has to sync, etc etc. Apple already provide a search for the iTunes Store, so allowing a search on My Music instead ought to be provided as well.

  • My iPod does not have search feature

    Hello.
I bought a 60 GB iPod last September. I have it full of music, and I need the search feature for the music menu that I have seen in this web.
    Am I doing somethig wrong?
It is not in my iPod Menu. WHy could be possible? I have updated the iPod software and it does not work.
What can I do? I have over 3.000 songs and it is hard to find the song I want without this tool.
    Thank you to everybody.

No there is no software update that will allow this feature, although there is the "quick scroll" feature that will work on your iPod.
If you would like to see the "search" feature added to older iPods, add your voice to the many here.

  • [Forum FAQ]How do I add a search feature in the parameter with long drop down list?

    Introduction
There is a scenario that thousands of values in the drop-down of a parameter. Scrolling through the large drop down list is slow and cumbersome. Is there a way that we add a search feature in the report, so that it can filter down the values in the drop
down list to a smaller list of values?
    Solution
To achieve this requirement, we can add a parameter with multiple keywords ahead, then all of available values which are begin with the keyword will display in the parameter list. In this scenario, we can create cascading parameters. One is a keyword parameter,
and the other parameter is based on the keyword to display the available values.
In order to enable the user to type multiple keywords, we can use the query below to create a split function which takes the list and the de-limiter as input parameters and splits all the values in the database:
    CREATE FUNCTION [dbo].[SplitParameterValues] (@InputString NVARCHAR(max), @SplitChar VARCHAR(5))
     RETURNS @ValuesList TABLE
     param NVARCHAR(255)
     AS
     BEGIN
     DECLARE @ListValue NVARCHAR(max)
     SET @InputString = @InputString + @SplitChar
     WHILE @InputString!= @SplitChar
     BEGIN
     SELECT @ListValue = SUBSTRING(@InputString , 1, (CHARINDEX(@SplitChar, @InputString)-1))
     IF (CHARINDEX(@SplitChar, @InputString) + len(@SplitChar))>(LEN(@InputString))
     BEGIN
     SET @InputString=@SplitChar
     END
     ELSE
     BEGIN
     SELECT @InputString = SUBSTRING(@InputString, (CHARINDEX(@SplitChar, @InputString) + len(@SplitChar)) , LEN(@InputString)-(CHARINDEX(@SplitChar, @InputString)+ len(@SplitChar)-1) )
     END
    INSERT INTO @ValuesList VALUES( @ListValue)
     END
     RETURN
     END
Use the query below create a stored procedure to return all available values for Account parameter:
    create PROCEDURE sp (@keyword nvarchar(50))
    AS
    SELECT     AccountDescription
    FROM         DimAccount d
inner join (SELECT [param] FROM SplitParameterValues (@keyword,',')) s on d.AccountDescription like (s.[param]+'%')
In Report Designer, select Stored Procedure as the Query type for DataSet1, then select or type sp in the drop-down list as below:
By default, there is a parameter named keyword in the Parameters pane.
Add a multi-value parameter named Account in the report, then select “Get values from a query” option for Available Values as below:

Hmmm. This didn't work. I even re-booted, and Firefox still doesn't show the search engine.
It was actually an update to an earlier engine, and I foolishly removed the old version rather than just updating it.
Is there anything elsewhere (eg. the registry) that might be preventing this?

  • The search feature in Add Places cannot find any locations.

When I try to add places, the search feature cannot find any locations. I can, however, drag and drop photos onto locations on the map. I've tried contacted support twice and they have not been helpful at all. I would appreciate any help.

You installed a search plugin. Why not look for it the search bar?

  • Can you add a search feature an HTML webgallery?

This is a two part question.
I created an HTML webgallery using the Bridge CS4 output module <awesome tool!> I intend to link this to my company website.
Q#1: Is there a way to include the filename for each image *without* including all the camera and other image data?
This would enable our customers to see our product item number under each photo.
Q#2: Is there a way to add a search feature?
I don't know where this would be / could be accomplished.Bridge, Flash, directly in the code? I tried the metadata templates but wasn't successful w/that.
The goal would be to be able to search for an item number that links to the photo(s) in the gallery.
    Thanks.

Question #1 - I believe there is already a script that will do that.  Check the Bridge Scripting Forum.

  • ITunes Library Search Features (or lack thereof)

Does anyone know if Apple plans to add an advanced search feature to iTunes for searching the music library? It would be very helpful if I could tell iTunes to limit the search (based on keywords) to songs only, artists only, album title only, etc. If anyone knows of a way to limit searches in this manner please let me know.

And if you select the little triangle next to the magnifying glass on the search field you can limit the search to just an Artist, Album, etc.

  • Search feature in flash

hi i need help with this please..... i wanted to add a search feature for a flash website....i am adding some data lists to the website and i wanted to have a search feature.....could you also please advise me if i should use xml for adding the lists or should i just add it in flash using the text tool. thanks a lot.

    Hi Lana
I think before anything worthwhile can be offered, we need to define exactly what it is you are doing and where you are doing it.
Where specifically did you add the keyword?
In the Topic Properties on the General tab in the Keywords section?
In the Topic Properties on the Index tab?
In the Project Set-up pod in the External Content Search area? (RoboHelp 9)
    In the Index designer pod?
Depending on your answer we can then move forward with sleuthing what may be happening.
    Cheers... Rick

  • HELP: New Search feature in 3.0 is TOO good

Upon using the SEARCH feature I have discovered my emails are still available for the past 7 months!!! I thought I erased them off the Ipod....so my question is how do I remove them from being searched?
The Calendar and Contacts list is great..... but I don't want/need access to all my old emails and certainly don't want precious space on my Ipod Touch (2G) to be storing old emails.
    Thanks for any answers!!!
    Stan

    Thanks for the reply.
Well, after perusing the forum for similar requests---it seems that the Ipod Touch is storing the emails, calendar info, etc,...in the FREE SPACE on the Touch memory. The ONLY way to kill/erase it is to:
    1) Overwrite it by adding more content (i.e. load a couple movies)
    2) Delete your email account and then re-add it,
    3) Purchase an app called IErase which promises to erase the FREE SPACE...but it is $7......that's ridiculously priced.
Not sure whether to do (1) or (2).........but thats what I have uncovered thus far.
    Sincerely,
    Stan

  • Search feature in Test Stand templates

    Hi,
I am trying to create templates of sequence steps for a particular dll in Test Stand. The dll has about 50 functions, and when I line up all of them under templates, it becomes very lenghty, and difficult to use.
Is there a way to add  "Search/Find" feature and "Flatten / Sort" feature - similar to the one we have for LabWindows CVI function panels? If so how, and which TestStand API do I need to modify? Can we "import" this feature from CVI and reuse it some how? Any other way of doing it?
    thanks and regards
    dasi

    Hi,
Have you had a look at ''lookup strings"? Its a TestStand API call you can make on a property object. I am not sure if it can be used for external dlls but its does the same job you are asking for.
By default there is no function present by default. You can access the dll in labview or CVI and search for it thr and call the VI/C code as a code module in TestStand.
    hope this helps..

  • Skype Community needs a search feature

Skype community has always been about discovering new friends or similiar ideas.I think it would be a lot easier if we can add a search feature to find people around our age or trying to learn a similiar language etc.It would make skype community a lot easier to navigate.

    Hi,
Thanks for your feedback. A user search using some profile information (language preference, location) is definitely a great feature to build a social network. But such a feature needs to be closely monitored so it's not being abused either for spamming or harassment. Right now we are focussing ressources on maintaining and enhancing a great place for discussions around everything Skype. I'm confident that you will find that during these discussions you will find other community users with shared interests that you can exchange contact details with via private messages.

  • Is it possible to add additional features, such as I had in iTunes? What I mean is: how could I add comments for example of an ebook; or the publisher?

Is it possible to add additional features, such as I had in iTunes? What I mean is: how could I add comments for example of an ebook; or the publisher?

Many thanks Brett, but probably I wasn't clear enough about my problem.
I know that I'm able to include some notes, or to highlight paragraph; what I want to know if is it possible to make a summary of the book; or add additional features such as Publisher, if I read or not; language, etc. And show in the information for each book … In the application there's only: title, author, genre … How can add additional features as a reference for the ebook as a whole, and see them at the same level of the author, genre, etc.
    For example
BOOK A          AUTHOR BRETT L     PHILOSOPHY     ENGLISH     TO READ     iTUNES STORE
The first three items are the default items … what I want to include is the others (as an example) … And create a box or something to make a summary of the book.
Sorry for the bothering … but I was (and I suppose I'm not the only one) very comfortable with iTunes format for Music; but iBooks lost quite everything compared to iTunes; and it looks like a mere Kindle application.
    Many thanks in advance

  • The search feature in messages does not seem to work with pre IOS 7 messages

After updating to IOS 7 the search feature in the Messages app does not seem to work with messages received prior to the update.  Texts received since the IOS 7 update search correctly.  Is this a bug or a feature of moving to iMessages rather than just receiving standard texts?

Although not related to your question you have outdated ShockWave Flash Player go ahead and update your flash player by going to www.get.adobe.com/flashplayer
As for your problem, One of your add-ons might be the culprit too. Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] with all add-ons disabled. If that solves the problem, see [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and possibly [[Troubleshooting plugins]]

  • Blog search feature

I can't make the blog search feature work in one of my MobileMe sites. The difference between this site and others that I have is that this one is heavier, with more pictures. I tried to rename it and republish it. I tried to republish it more than one time and didn't help either.
Any suggestions (easy ones please) ?

You can insert a site search form and limit it to blog only http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/kb/add-site-search-box.html
